Don't like the way some of y'all treat mother characters. Especially ones with older kids. Like people claiming that shit like the original Hades/Persephone myth wasn't feminist or "feminist retelling" like Demeter drove the entire plot of that, she suffered, she wanted, she act, she made others listen to her, she persevered and had a bitter sweet ending but a much happier one to her real life counterparts. Y'all need to work through the misogyny of shelfing women once they become mothers and making them one dimensional/side characters.

this is exactly what im talking about btw, baeddels harassing trans men but trans men are expected not only to shut up and take it but not do anything in turn. just like a specific brand of abuse on the tip of my tongue
like waow i guess im OpPrEsSiNg you for telling you its bad to call a whole group of people slurs as insults and being a misgendering and transphobic piece of garbage.
why cant we make 'theymab' a thing? oh yeah because its acceptable to abuse a trans person under the pretense of their agab if you see them as a woman but not if you're seen as a man. huh. i wonder what that reminds me of.

s3 house is SUCH a bitch and yeah when is he not but man. "It's a good thing you failed to become a mom because you suck at it." my face fell with hers.
like, say what you want about cuddy and her morals and values when it comes to the hospital and the law, but she cares about her patients. she was so desperate to help that little girl that she climbed into the shower stall with her just to cool her down and make sure she was okay.
we, as the audience, know that 99.9% of the time, house is right, and so it's frustrating when cuddy gets in his way. but her heart is usually in the right place. yes, sometimes cameron and cuddy's emotionality can be destructive and backfire. but it's not a weakness!!! it's never a weakness, despite the others (house, chase, foreman) who try to say it is.
anyway, this is a lisa cuddy stan account.

sometimes i get home from running errands and wonder if anyone who walked by me thought about dragging me into an alleyway and raping me. it’s a shame society has forced men to repress urges like that. women are just objects. its time we come to terms with that 💓

im rewatching community and just got to what is arguably the shows absolute worst episode - the one where britta finds out all her friends have been essentially getting paid off by her abusive parents, and somehow britta is the one at fault for being “childish”??
i find this episode so cruel in so many ways honestly, and not the least bc dan harmon, after giving britta a backstory that involves CSA (which her parents didnt believe happened), chose to convey the message that britta is 100% wrong & you should always forgive your abusers regardless of all else, and we as viewers are just supposed to be ok with that.
its extra evil too because dan harmon was fired from community in the first place because he was sexually harassing one of the shows writers, and now here he is actively denying the trauma of his female character who was a victim of sexual assault. like bro. this could not be more on the nose if it tried

Truly fucking insane to me how even some trans people have drunk the gender essentialist koolaid and think that trans men are like, inherently arms of the patriarchy and oppressors. Just like believing all cis men are each, individually responsible for patriarchy. Isn’t the point of feminism that the system and people’s unconscious upholding of the system are the thing to be criticizing?? Gender essentialism is still gender essentialism even if you do it to trans people.
I don’t know why people don’t understand that treating any group as a monolith whose experiences are all the same is like. Bad and harmful. Trans men are men but they are not cis men. Many of us have experienced girl / womanhood enforced on us by society and deeply understand the struggle. I don’t see why it’s harmful to acknowledge the fact that trans men experience misogyny!!!! Lots of trans men haven’t or won’t transition! I promise you even if we are men, see ourselves as men, the vast majority of society will not.
I really hate infighting and “calling out” whole sections of the community, and I guarantee I’m not talking about 90% of trans women who are normal but that other 10% act like trans men have betrayed women by “choosing to be men”. Isn’t that like, 1) literally gc / terf logic and 2) implying that trans people just up and choose their gender one day (not saying that some don’t but like. Being trans is a deeply personal thing that’s often not a choice.)
This is thinking that makes trans men guilty to be trans men. We’re used to hearing it from radfems but to hear it from people who are supposed to be our allies??? From people who we have something so deeply in common with? It fucking sucks!!!
#sorry I just saw three whole Twitter posts that literally were like ALL TRANS WOMEN ARE BEAUTIFUL AND FUNNY AND AWESOME#and all trans men are stupid and stinky and bad#trans men continue to be punching bags every three months for some fucking reason#I’m not disagreeing that trans women are put under a lot more pressure societally and that fucking sucks#but literally whenever trans men speak up we ARE dismissed.#our struggles may not be the same but they still fucking exist#this is mostly a vent but feel free to (civilly and constructively) talk to me about where my blind spots might be#I’m taking American cultural anthropology and we just learned the word intersectionality and I don’t think people truly understand that#the intersection between “being men’ and “being raised as female’ is very real#I think what that male model said was stupid in terms of like#thinking that trans women are to blame for being so visible#but what he said about the general way people are raised in gendered ways is not bullshit.#culture affects us from literally all angles and it’s wild to think that a trans man could just flip a switch one day and forget#being constantly put down and told to be kind and put others feelings above your own and be scared of being assaulted and blah blah blah#being raised as a girl shit. unless you transitioned as a child and had super supportive parents that shit is REAL#my post#trans#jfc even if you were raised in the right gender medical misogyny affects us too! our bodies are policed just like women’s are#also lol I’m not saying I just learned the term or idea intersectionality it’s just interesting to learn about it academically

being a transmasc is sure fucking exhausting because you go outside and you deal with transphobia and abuse, some of which is unique to your experiences as a transmasc, and it sucks, and then you go online and there's still the transphobia and the abuse, but now sometimes you run into 'activism' that says your abuse is some shit you made up for funsies and clout and out of spite against trans women you're personally responsible for the the ongoing trans genocide and the death of feminism because you just need to be the center of attention and cant let women have anything. yeah. yeah. i love this guys. i really love this. i feel extremely privileged for this. i definitely think you guys are right and we are absolutely just pulling shit out of our asses to feel special and the most important ever.

Hey, if you think that antitransmasculinity isn’t real, just go ahead and unfollow me. Trans men deserve to be able to talk about our unique experiences that specifically relate to being trans men. We are hurt and abused by the same cis men everyone loves to lump us in with. And don’t start in on saying that us speaking on our experiences is in direct opposition to discussions about transmisogyny. I understand the knee jerk reaction to always try to be a good ally, and we should be centering trans women in our transfeminism, but the truth is that our struggles (transfem and transmasc) are deeply related to one another. Many trans women (mostly Black and non-white) include antitransmasculinity in their transfeminism. The term antitransmasculinity was coined by a trans woman. Antitransmasculinity is often a trojan horse for transmisogyny. They are intertwined. Saying that just because trans men are men that we don’t experience specific intersections of transphobia is just plain wrong. NTM it completely leaves out trans men of multiple gender expanses, and Two Spirit trans men.
