The symbol of freedom, of raw wilderness, of straight social structure, of toughness but also of love and care, will it ever be accepted?

Regulus/Remus, for the ship ask game
I Ship It!
What made you ship it? The first Remus/Regulus fic I can remember reading was *goes off on a little search* I Know My Name Is Remus by m3535, Zayhad, and then I read all of m3535's fics, which are pretty much all Regulus/Remus themed... so yeah while not an absolute OTP they're pretty much up high on the list of my faves.
What are your favorite things about the ship? I just think they're neat ToT Fellow bookworms with hidden devious streaks, have reputation of good boys and nobody ever suspects them of being involved with pranks. The banter is a special kind of "mean but we both know it's in a good fun".
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? MoonWater is a stupid name, whoever came up with it? Be ashamed of yourself. If you insist on this format of shipnames then MoonSeeker or even WolfSeeker are right. there.

Runic Pose Description (Rune Poems quoted are from the Old English version), by Ariel Wolfseeker in collaboration with Whitney Tutor
Fehu: Wealth. Cattle. Gold. Beginning of the Journey.
Rune Poem: (Wealth) is a comfort to every man although every man ought to deal it out freely if he wants, before the lord, his lot of judgement.
In the Fehu stance, face your palms towards one another. Funnel the wealth around you and within you. Assess the blessings in your life and acknowledge what is lacking or what you can part with to bless less fortunate people in your life. Take stock. Fehu is never static and is best shared.
Uruz: Strength. Vitality. Transformation. Healing from the Depths.
Rune Poem: (Uruz) is fearless and greatly horned a very fierce beast it fights with its horns. A famous roamer of the moor it is a courageous animal.
Channel the pose of the indomitable auroch, in Uruz. You can form your hands into fists. Feel the muscles in your shoulders and your back, feel the muscles in your thighs as they tense. Take note of the strength in your body and the potential for power and vitality. Envision that nothing can stand in your way, not even yourself.
Thurisaz: Willpower. Resistance. Opposing Force. The Hammer.
Rune Poem: (Thorn is very sharp; for every thegn who grasps it, it is harmful and exceedingly cruel to every man who lies upon it.
Embody the willpower and spirit of a warrior, become the hammer that swings in Thurisaz pose. Think less and tap into your primal, reactive instincts and natures. Puff out your chest and straighten your spine. Thurisaz is the force that answers and defends against that which would harm. Awaken the will.
Ansuz: The Mind. Consciousness. Speech. Communication. Rune work.
Rune Poem: A (God) is the chieftain of all speech, the mainstay of wisdom and comfort of the wise, for every noble warrior hope and happiness.
Lift your chin and pull back your shoulders as you channel Ansuz. Think of the mechanics your tongue and vocal cords perform when creating the worlds you speak into the world. Feel both the weight of the wisdoms you have collected and the far greater weight of the wisdoms that still elude you. Make use of the endless potential of your own mind, tap into your inspiration and broaden your mind’s eye.
Raido: Riding. Journey. Right Order. Rythym. Progress.
Rune Poem: (Riding) is in the hall, to every warrior easy, but very hard for one who sits up on a powerful horse over the miles of road.
In the Raido pose, we embrace the journey. In what order must things fall in order to progress forward? We place one step forward into the future but keep one foot grounded.  Find a rational pace for yourself, acknowledge where you’ve been running ahead too quickly, or lagging behind too slowly.
Kenaz: Fire. Creativity. Female Power. Torch. Forging. Primal Creation.
Rune Poem: (Torch) is to every living person known by its fire, it is clear and bright it usually burns, when the noble-men rest inside the hall.
With Kenaz, we become the flame that kindles our creativity. Feel the burn in your legs as your muscles stretch. Embrace the feminine, tap into the fire within you. Blaze a path  to discover that which you seek. Find your muse. Allow yourself to find what grips your creativity and become bold enough to bring creation. Sometimes creation is painful and raw, like fire.
Gebo: Sacrifice. Gift. Exchange of Energy. Crossroads. Choices.
Rune Poem:(Gift) is for every man a pride and praise, help and worthiness; (and) of every homeless adventurer, it is estate and substance for those who have nothing else.
In Gebo we stand wide and reach wide. We perform equal exchange of weight on your feet and in our arms. Feel the energy flow evenly. Think of the exchanges that you are part of in your life. What can you share, where are you sharing too much? What can you sacrifice to yourself and to others, where do you sacrifice too much? Strive for harmony and balance.
Wunjo: Pure Joy. Satisfaction. Culmination. Childlike Happiness.
Rune Poem: (Joy) is had by the one who knows few troubles pains and sorrows, and to him who himself has power and blessedness, and also the plenty of towns.
In Wunjo we take on a whimsical and lithe pose. Think about what brings you joy. What gives you genuine and unadulterated happiness? Think of what you can do to bring you wholesomeness and wellness. Summon positive memories and fill yourself with good spirit. Think of the friends in your life and how you can strengthen your bonds, how you can include friend and family. Give and inspire smiles unabashedly.
Hagalaz: The Underworld. Deep Mysteries. Seed. Hail of Destructive Change.
Rune Poem: (Hail) is the whitest of grains, it comes from high in heaven. A shower of wind hurls it, then it turns to water.
In Hagalaz we take on a straining stance. Feet firmly on the ground, hips low to the ground and arms parallel to legs. Remind yourself that after every storm, the sun comes back out. Through destruction, we create new beginnings. An old house must first be torn down if a new one is to be built. Assess the changes in your life, the stressors and the chaos. Think of how you can evolve to conquer that which seeks to tear you down.
Nauthiz: Firestarter. Burning Desire. The Will to Survive.  Need.
Rune Poem: (Need) is constricting on the chest, although to the children of men it often becomes a help and salvation nevertheless if they heed it in time.
In Nauthiz pose we embrace our true desires and needs. Take care to meditate upon what you truly need and what is merely a want. Want versus need is often not so clear. Test yourself. Think of what sparks the things that drive you and let those motivations start the fire you need to catapult you forward to improve yourself, your work and your practices.
Isa: Stillness. Boundaries. Stasis. Stagnation. Solace of Isolation.
Rune Poem: (Ice) is very cold and exceedingly slippery; it glistens, clear as glass, very much like gems, a floor made of frost is fair to see.
In Isa pose, we assume a statuesque and still pose. Our limbs are in stasis, unmoving and not burning any energy to perform any extra motions. In Isa, we can tap into pure concentration, not distracted by anything else. Be still, be silent. Think on what in your life is still and stagnating. What is blocking you, or where are you blocking yourself? What has fallen out of motion? What needs to be silenced?
Jera: Seasons of Change. Cycles of Time. Harvest.
Rune Poem: (Harvest) is the hope of men, when god lets, holy king of heaven, the Earth give her bright fruits to the nobles and the needy.
In Yera pose we form the cycle. To yield a good harvest, we must plant our seeds. What have been the rewards of your hard labor? What have been the results of your actions? What have you made good use of in the never ending wheel, what have you not? What can you nurture in the next changing of the seasons to yield a better harvest and payoff?
Eihwaz: Inner Journey. Yggdrasil the World Tree. Deep Connection. Becoming.
Rune Poem: (Yew) is, on the outside, a rough tree and hard, firm in the earth, keeper of the fire, supported by roots, (it is a) joy on the estate.
In Eihwaz pose, we become the line between the two sides of the coin. Take note of your spine as it is straight, through which your balance and energy travel. Eihwaz connects you from all things above you to all things deep below. Reach within yourself and find root in your mental and spiritual spaces. Set and define your personal limits and boundaries. Think of things that you influence or that influence you beyond the mundane. What are some extremes in your life, how and why do you travel between them?
Perthro: The Womb. Female Creative Power. Divination. The Seeress.
Rune Poem: (Lot Box) is always play and laughter among bold men, where the warriors sit in the beer hall, happy together.
In Perthro pose we open ourselves. What have been some meaningful coincidences lately? Find your spiritual place and look down into the well, to seek what lies within its depths. Become the well as which you can open yourself to be filled with the divine. What might you try your luck at, what can you take a chance on? What have you been counting or gambling on too dangerously?
Algiz (Elhaz): Protection. Valkyrie. Powers of Flight. Connection to the Divine.
Rune Poem: (Elk’s) sedge has its home most often in the fen, it waxes in the water and grimly wounds, and burns with blood any bairn who in any way tries to grasp it.
In Algiz pose, we form the antlers of the elk with our arms, the instruments of protection, the wings to carry us to the spirit plane and the tools that aid us in communicating with the divine. What are things you are passionate about keeping safe? What should you be more active in protecting? Where is your intuition and how can you be more in tune with it? Listen to your inner guides and your animal and spirit guardians. Have you been keeping your ears, eyes and heart open? Use algiz to listen but also to assess where you might need to be careful, when not only interacting with the mundane but also the divine.
Sowilo: The Sun. Lightning. Raw Fiery Power. Light. Honor.
Rune Poem: (Sun) is by sea-men always hoped for when they fare far away over the fishes bath (sea), until the brine-stallion (ship) they bring to land.
In Sowilo stance we form the lightningbolt. Take note of the tension in your whole body and the raw power you possess. Recall the successes and victories you’ve had. Meditate on the most honorable path to your next victory. Question your methods and practices and give yourself raw criticism upon which you can improve. Charge forth and shed light upon mysteries and harness the fire within you.
Tiwaz: Justice. Male Power. The Warrior. Right Action. Truth.
Rune Poem: (Tyr) is a token, it keeps troth well with noble-men always on its course over the mists of night, it never fails.
In the Tiwaz pose we form our hands into fists and stand stalwart and true. Assess yourself and where you have and have not been true to yourself and your beliefs. Recall the oaths you’ve taken and the promises you’ve made. Are you keeping them? Test yourself, your morals and your ethics. Embrace the male powers and the spirit of the warrior within you. Strive for just action.
Berkana: Birch Tree. Mother. Nurturing. Queenly Bearing. Birth and Rebirth.
Rune Poem: (Birch) is without fruit but just the same it bears limbs without seed; it has beautiful branches high on its crown it is finely covered loaded with leaves, touching the sky.
In Berkana pose we take on a vastly different view of the world as we connect our spine with the earth and root our palms and feet with the ground. We form the vessel in which we can nurture, the boat that holds, protects, carries and uplifts. Recognize what needs more nurturing in your life, what needs more cultivating and steering towards higher planes. Recognize if you’ve been keeping secrets and where you need to act with more grace and better bearing. Learn yourself anew and rebirth yourself into a greater state of being. Fill yourself with new perspectives.
Ehwaz: The Connection of Horse and Rider. Emotional Bonds. Partnership.
Rune Poem: (Horse) is, in front of the warriors, the joy of noble-men, a charger proud on its hooves; when concerning it, heroes -- wealthy men -- on war horses exchange speech, and it is always a comfort to the restless.
In Ehwaz we take on the form of the vehicle, the horse, the mount. Feel your spine relax and cave. Delve and understand the connection between rider and horse; both are part of the same team. Recognize your lacking or skill in teamwork. Assess where your loyalties lie, where the loyalties of others lie to you. Who do you trust in. Is your trust places too lightly or too sparingly?
Mannaz: Mankind. The Bonds of Humanity. Civilization.
Rune Poem: (Man) is in his mirth dear to his kinsmen; although each shall depart from the other; for the lord wants to commit, by his decree, that frail flesh to the earth.
In this Mannaz pose we create the seat of civilization with your crossed legs and embrace our bonds with our crossed arms, creating the links of mankind to one another and with the gods. Recognize the connections to the people in your life; those who are living and those who have come before you. Revive your memories. Set goals for yourself on how you can achieve to be more self reliant and be a better impact to those around you. How can you become the best you, that you can be?
Laguz: Emotions. River and Waterfall. Intuition.
Rune Poem: (Water) is to people seemingly unending, if they should venture out on an unsteady ship, and the sea waves frighten them very much, and the brine-stallion (ship) does not heed its bridle.
In Lazug pose we become the water that slips over the cliff, the rushing waterfall or the slowly trickling spring. Envision water in its natural state, as it always finds its way no matter the obstacles. Learn to swim with the flow of the currents. Follow your intuitions. Explore the emotions that flow through you. Are you allowing yourself to feel or are you trying to barricade an unstoppable force? Recognize where you are fighting with the flow of life and how you can chart a more beneficial course through the currents.
Inguz: Sacred Space. Potential for Creation. Fertility.
Rune Poem: ING was first among the East-Danes seen by men, until he again eastward went over the wave; the wain followed on; this is what the warriors called the hero.
In Inguz pose we create a sacred space. Elbows aligned with knees we isolate a place in which we can nurture the potential for creation and personal growth as we set our focus inward. Take stock of where you’ve been applying your energy and focus and see how you can bring some tasks and projects to completion while your attention is less scattered. Cast away all distractions and redirect your energy to what you wish to focus on. Channel and gather your energies for storage or fuel for creation.
Dagaz: Metamorphosis. Balance. The Dawn. Enlightenment.
Rune Poem: (Day) is the lord’s messenger, dear to men, the ruler’s famous light; it is mirth and hope to rich and poor, and is useful for all.
In Dagaz pose we fold our hands over our mind and close our eyes. This pose can be done lying down or kneeling. Our goal is to tap into a consciousness beyond our own, specifically the greater Odinic frame of mind. As we close our physical eyes we open our mind’s eye to uncover, seek out and learn about the mysteries and wisdoms that are beyond our current understanding. We break beyond the limits of our current awareness and that which is already known to us, or test that which we think we already understand. There are many ways to describe a raven and all are true. Think about the runes and how you perceive them, then try to see them from different angles and perspectives. Comprehend that they are multifaceted and vast.
Othala: Ancestors. Personal History. Identity.
Rune Poem: (Estate) is very dear to every man, if he can enjoy what is right and according to custom in his dwelling, most often in prosperity.
In Othala pose, which can be done standing or lying down, we grow roots with our feet and trace our ties to the ancestors through us and create the canopy over the hearth with our arms. Where do your roots lie? How can you connect with those who have paved the path of the futures before you, the ancestors that wove your heritage? Who are you and who were your forebearers? Where lies your home?
Art and descriptions and insights by Ariel Wolfseeker in collaboration with Whitney Tutor.
Recommended Further Reading on the Runes
The Runes Workbook by Leon D. Wild
Although out of print, this is a great book for beginners on the Runes. Great illustrations and concise information on each Rune.
Northern Mysteries and Magick by Freya Aswynn
An excellent and deeper examination of the Runes to read as your practice evolves. Freya Aswynn is a highly respected and experienced authority on the Runes, Odin and Northern shamanic practices.
Taking up the Runes by Diana Paxson
A heavier tome with in depth discussions on each Rune which includes not only the Rune poems, but a compilation of several author’s views. It also has more information on how to study the Runes and ideas for rituals.
The Poetic Edda
Suggested translations would be Larrington or Hollander, or you can find one online by Chisholm here: http://www.heathengods.com/library/poetic_edda/ChisholmEdda.pdf
Especially read the Havamal, which is the words of Odin, and describes how he got the Runes as well as his words on their use. No study of the Runes is complete without this important work!

6. 10. 30, 24 for spine warband
6. What are their usual assignments?
Spine warband gets thrown at almost any task they are willing to handle. Whether that be escorting dolyaks across dangerous terrain, or idk. killing some randos that the legions don't like. usually though, the spine warband is left to do boring jobs that other warbands don't bother with because this particular warband is known to house some.. knuckleheaded individuals. (looks at eros)
10. How many members are in the warband?
Probably around 15+, but I don't have fleshed out names and stories for each and every one of them yet. I obviously have Keer and Eros, who have now left the warband, but some other creachures i've thought about making for this warband are: Caius Spinekick, Falli Spinetwist, Maren Scowlspine.
24. What's the warband's opinion on humans in the treaty?
Spine warband is often divided into haters and lovers, you see. A good chunk of Spine absolutely despises the treaty, while the rest just do not give a fuck or are in favor of the treaty. Despite all the differences and differing opinions in the warband though, they somehow manage(d) to (mostly) get along with eachother.
30. Did the warband follow Bangar into Dominion and Frost Legion, or did they stay with the United Legions?
Looks left, looks right, looks down.... looks super awkward. Well, surprisingly, Spine warband almost completely stayed loyal to the United Legions throughout IBS, with only one of their warband members defecting into Dominion. The red-furred, grumpy, asshole charr that defected was no longer welcomed into the warband after this act of treachery, and now he wanders around... in a certain town that rhymes with Burikton.
