I am probably wrong but I think if it were Blake’s choice he’d just keep putting out singles. I think the album is WMN driven more than anything so I think unlike some of the others this isn’t really a passion project where he wants to write. I think they put together the 12 best songs they agreed upon and that’s what’s being put out. I foresee Blake still listening to and collecting songs he likes to have ready after the album runs it’s cycle.

I think you’re right, if it was up to Blake he might keep releasing singles. He seemed pretty happy with that arrangement, but I know the label wants an album.

He will most likely do a fall tour too. He hasn't done one the past two years. I'm assuming a new album in 2019 and summer tour might coincide with a ticket bundle. So he may be doing both a summer and fall tour. I can't see him waiting until fall to release a new album, that seems late based upon WMN's previous cycles.

I agree with your logic, but on the other hand the spring tour is already 18 dates. Adding two tours to that would bring him way over his usual amount of dates, which he seems quite strict about these days... 🤷 Well, they’ll have to announce it at some point and we’ll know for sure!

Looking To Upgrade Your Bike Ride, The Canyon Roadlite Is A Must View

As an avid cyclist you may be looking at this particular moment in time to be upgrading your bike to a newer model, or like myself you maybe thinking this commuting malarky is getting far too much for me, and you’re wanting to hop on a bike to do the commute to work now. And if like me you’re not really a cyclist you are likely confused about what type of bike you should look at getting.

Even though the thought of cycling (especially in busy towns or cities) might be slightly daunting at first, It is absolutely worth persevering with. Once you start to get used to the rules of the road and your regular routes you’ll soon find that it’s by far the nicest way to get around town.

Recently we were fortunate enough to be invited by Canyon Bikes to test out some of their latest bike models that they are showcasing. Canyon operates via direct sales, selling bikes online and delivering them to the customer’s door.

We like most of you out there are probably just as dubious about ordering something of such value in the hope that it comes through perfectly without the hassle of having to then send it back and get a replacement sent back out.

The Canyon site is easy to navigate and the information they request from you is fool proof in getting the right size bike sent out to you. Our bike of choice was the Roadlite WMN CF 7.0 with a Carbon frame. It is extremely lightweight weighing in at around 8.8 kgs, which is even handier if like me, you hit a steep hill and have to throw the bike over your shoulder to then walk up it. We went for this design as we liked the idea of having the new 11-speed Shimano 105 groupset, aerodynamic wheels and Shimano disc brakes.

My biggest dilemma has always been DIY so the thought of putting together my own bike filled me with dread, as my wife will testify to you she wouldn’t let me near a drill or screwdriver if life depended on it. Anyhow, from placement of our order it took around 8 days for the bike to arrive in a well packaged box delivered by our ever regular friendly DHL driver.

Upon opening the box I was delighted to say all I needed to do was to add the seat, pedals, handlebar and front wheel which took around 20mins to do, unbelievable for such a DIY novice as myself and not even having to visit Youtube to watch an install video.

Once up and running I couldn’t wait to take the bike on the road, it’s been a long long time since I’d been on an actual road as the closet I had got on a bike was an exercise version down at my local gym.

I have to say this, wholeheartedly the experience on the Canyon Roadlite, it was extremely exhilarating and a lot of fun as I took the Red Roadlite out on the streets of Kent. The large wheels help with maintaining good speed and at one point I felt I was going as fast as Chris Froome peddling the Rolls Royce of bikes. 

The only one negative I could say about the whole experience is I wish I had known about saddle soreness, but that’s purely down to my inexperience cycling. Now I know to invest in a high quality bib short.

For me though the benefits of now saving plenty of time and money commuting to the office on the Roadlite and not to mention how much my fitness levels and endurance have improved, far outweigh any sore undercarriage.

So if you are looking to invest in an upgrade or starting out on the cycling path I highly recommend you take a look at the Canyon range as I don’t think you will be disappointed with your choice of bike!

Like Blake, the current state of the music industry confuses me. Could our experts - CMA, MAA or NN clarify what they think will be the effects of B putting out songs just for fun? Some may be Top 20, or #1s, or some may just be put out there because he feels like it. Can he get away with doing this in terms of WMN, for instance? What about public perception? Most people assume, when you release a song, that you are trying for the top spot, not just throwing them out there to see what happens.

I would love to have our experts weigh in! In my non-expert opinion, here’s what I think the benefit to releasing singles is...he can put out new music when he feels like it and record/release new songs whenever they appeal to him instead of having to shelve them and wait to cycle through an album. I think having to release several singles from an album before he can focus on anything new is somewhat stifling. I’m sure there have been times that he heard songs and was fired up and excited but had to wait on them to focus on a current album. Sometimes when you put something aside for months, it loses its window of opportunity, or loses some of its magic. Maybe someone else released something that sounded too similar in the meantime, for instance. Timing can be crucial to a song’s success. Another benefit that I see is that if one song doesn’t go over as well, you can sort of explain it away as a one-off instead of having it taint the reputation of an entire album. You can say “this one was just a novelty song, just something we wanted to release for fun”, or “this one was a great collab, what a cool opportunity to work with this artist”, and it doesn’t seem as serious. Whereas if you release, say, four singles from an album and maybe the first one is a hit, but the next one struggles on the charts, then the next one struggles a little more, and then maybe the fourth one does well, it’s still looked at as “that album missed the mark. It wasnt a successful project.” Hopefully I didn’t ramble too much and made some sort of sense, but I know MAA, NN, and CWA could offer much better insight!
