The Benefits of a Cotton Duvet Set Are Its Softness, Breathability, and Durability
Tumblr media
When it comes to getting a good night's sleep, there's nothing quite like slipping into fresh, soft cotton bedding. Not only does it feel luxurious and comfortable against your skin, but it also has many benefits that make it a smart choice for both you and the planet. In this blog post, we'll explore why cotton bedding is such a popular choice among homeowners and how its sustainability makes it an even better option. Whether you're in search of a 3 tog duvet or looking for the best bedding options for your baby's cot duvet, read on to discover why cotton should be at the top of your list!
The many benefits of cotton bedding
Cotton bedding is a popular choice for many reasons. Firstly, cotton is incredibly soft and comfortable to sleep on. It's also very breathable, which means that it helps regulate your body temperature while you sleep, keeping you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Another benefit of 15 tog duvet cotton bedding is that it's hypoallergenic. This means that it won't cause skin irritation or allergic reactions like some synthetic fabrics do. Cotton bedding is perfect for those with sensitive skin or allergies. Cotton bedding is also very durable and long-lasting. With proper care, cotton sheets can last for years without showing signs of wear and tear. This makes them a smart investment for anyone looking to furnish their bedroom with high-quality bedding. In addition to being comfortable and long-lasting, cotton bedding is also easy to care for. Most cotton sheets can be machine washed and dried without any special instructions or precautions needed. Choosing cotton bedding over synthetic options can help reduce our environmental impact by supporting sustainable farming practices and reducing chemical use in textile production. There are many benefits to choosing cotton bedding that make it a smart choice for anyone looking to upgrade their sleeping experience.
Cotton bedding is a sustainable choice
As people become more conscious of their environmental impact, many are looking for ways to reduce their carbon footprint. One simple way to do this is by choosing sustainable bedding options, and cotton bedding is a great choice. Cotton is a natural fiber that comes from the seedpod of the cotton plant. Unlike synthetic materials like polyester, cotton is biodegradable and can be composted at the end of its life cycle. This means that when you choose cotton bedding, you're making a choice that's better for the environment. Not only is it biodegradable, but growing babys cot duvet cotton also has less impact on the environment compared to other crops. Cotton plants require less water than some other crops like alfalfa or corn and can even help prevent soil erosion in certain areas. Additionally, when you choose organic cotton bedding, you're supporting sustainable farming practices that don't rely on harmful pesticides or chemicals. Organic farms prioritize biodiversity and work with nature rather than against it. Choosing cotton bedding over synthetic options not only provides comfort but also helps reduce your environmental impact. By supporting sustainable farming practices through your purchasing choices, you have an opportunity to make a positive difference in our world.
How to choose the right cotton bedding for you
Choosing the right firm pillow for you can be overwhelming with so many options available in the market. Here are some tips to help you make an informed decision. Firstly, consider the thread count of your bedding. A higher thread count means a softer and more durable fabric, but it may also trap heat during warmer months. If you tend to get hot at night, go for a lower thread count option. Next, think about the weave of your cotton bedding. Percale is lightweight and breathable while sateen has a smoother feel but may retain more heat. Jersey knit is stretchy and soft while flannel provides warmth in colder climates. You should also consider the type of cotton used in your bedding as different types have unique properties. Egyptian cotton is known for its luxurious feel while Pima cotton is strong and durable. Don't forget about sustainability when choosing your cotton bedding. Look for organic or fair trade certified options that prioritize environmental and social responsibility throughout their production process. By considering these factors, you can choose comfortable and sustainable cotton bedding that meets all your needs without compromising on quality or style!
Conclusion
After considering the many benefits of cotton bedding, it's clear that choosing this material for your bed is a smart choice. Not only does cotton provide comfort and breathability for a good night's sleep, but it's also a sustainable option that can help reduce waste and promote environmental stewardship. When shopping for cotton bedding, be sure to look for high-quality options made from organic or fair trade materials. These products are often more durable and long-lasting than synthetic alternatives, making them an investment in both your health and the planet. Ultimately, whether you choose a 3 tog duvet or a 15 tog duvet, or opt for baby's cot duvet instead - there's no denying that cotton bedding is the way to go. So why not make the switch today? How to Keep Your Duvet Fluffy and Warm All Winter Long
Tumblr media
Winter is the time to snuggle up under a warm and fluffy duvet, enjoying cozy nights of restful sleep. However, over time, duvets can lose their loft and become less effective at providing insulation. To ensure that your duvet stays fluffy and warm throughout the winter season, we've gathered some top tips for maintaining its cozy qualities. Read on to discover how to keep your duvet in top shape all winter long.
Shake and Fluff Daily
Start your day by giving your 15 tog duvet  a good shake and fluff. This simple act helps redistribute the filling and restores its loft. Holding opposite corners of the duvet, give it a vigorous shake to loosen up the fibers. Then, gently fluff it up by patting and shaking it from the sides. This routine will prevent the filling from becoming flat and compressed, ensuring maximum warmth and coziness.
Air Out Your Duvet
Regularly airing out your cot bed duvet helps maintain freshness and keeps it fluffy. On a sunny day, take your duvet outside and hang it on a clothesline or lay it flat on a clean surface in a well-ventilated area. Allow it to bask in the sunlight and fresh air for a few hours. This process helps remove any trapped moisture, eliminates odors, and revitalizes the filling, resulting in a refreshed and lofty duvet.
Use a Duvet Cover
Invest in a high-quality duvet covers and use it consistently. A duvet cover not only protects your duvet from stains and dirt but also helps retain its fluffiness. Opt for a cover made of natural, breathable materials like cotton, as they promote airflow and prevent excess moisture buildup. Regularly wash the duvet cover to maintain cleanliness and prevent the accumulation of allergens.
Avoid Heavy Objects on Top
Avoid placing heavy objects, such as books or other items, on top of your duvet with firm pillow. The weight can compress the filling, causing it to flatten and lose its loft. Instead, lightly fold or roll your duvet when not in use. By protecting it from unnecessary weight and pressure, you'll ensure that it maintains its fluffy and warm qualities.
Follow Washing Instructions
Follow the manufacturer's instructions for washing your duvet. Most 3 tog duvet can be machine washed, but it's important to use a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals or bleach, as they can damage the filling. Be sure to thoroughly dry your duvet before using it, as dampness can lead to clumping and a loss of fluffiness.
Add Tennis Balls or Dryer Balls
When drying your duvet, add a few clean tennis balls or dryer balls to the dryer. As the duvet tumbles, these balls help fluff up the filling and prevent it from clumping together. The bouncing motion created by the balls restores the duvet's loft, resulting in a fluffy and cozy finish.
Avoid Overfilling the Bed
Avoid overfilling your bed with too many additional blankets or pillows. The weight and pressure can compress the duvet and diminish its fluffiness. Keep the layers on your bed to a comfortable minimum, allowing your duvet to maintain its fullness and insulation.
Rotate and Reverse
To ensure even wear and distribution of the filling, rotate and reverse your duvet periodically. This simple step prevents specific areas from becoming flattened or worn out faster than others. Switching the orientation of your babys cot duvet also helps maintain its shape and loft over time.
Professional Cleaning
For duvets with delicate fillings or those that require professional care, consider taking them to a reputable dry cleaner or laundry service. Professional cleaning can help maintain the quality and longevity of your winter tog duvet, ensuring it remains fluffy and warm for many winters to come.
Conclusion
By following these tips, you can keep your duvet fluffy and warm all winter long. With regular care and attention, your duvet will provide the cozy comfort you crave during those chilly nights. Embrace the warmth, snuggle up, and enjoy the winter season with your perfectly fluffed duvet! Just Visit and get the perfect bedding products at www.wowbedding.co.uk.

Reasons Why a Cotton Duvet is Best for Warm Nights
Tumblr media
Do you struggle to get a good night's sleep during hot summer nights? Are you tired of constantly waking up in the middle of the night, drenched in sweat? Well, we have some good news for you! The solution to your problem is as simple as switching to cotton bedding. Not only is it comfortable and easy to care for, but it also provides numerous benefits that make it ideal for hot sleepers. In this article, we will explore why cotton bedding should be your go-to choice if you want to stay cool and comfortable all night long. So grab a cup of tea and keep reading!
What is cotton bedding duvet?
Cotton bedding is made from the natural fibers of the cotton plant and is a popular choice for many people due to its softness, breathability, and durability. The fabric is known for its ability to wick away moisture from your body, keeping you cool and dry throughout the night. One of the reasons why cotton bedding with duvet covers is so comfortable is because it has an open weave that allows air to circulate freely. This means that even on hot summer nights, you won't feel trapped under heavy layers of fabric. Additionally, cotton bedding comes in a variety of thread counts which can affect its overall texture and softness. Another benefit of using cotton bedding is that it's hypoallergenic and gentle on sensitive skin. Unlike synthetic materials or other types of bedding like wool or down feathers, there are no harsh chemicals used in production which can cause irritation or allergic reactions. In addition to being comfortable and gentle on skin, cotton bedding also provides excellent value for money as it lasts longer than other fabrics such as microfiber or polyester. With proper care and maintenance, your cotton sheets will stand up well against years of use without losing their shape or color. If you're looking for a breathable yet durable option when shopping around for new bed linen - look no further than 100% pure Cotton Bedding!
Why is cotton bedding duvet ideal for hot sleepers?
Cotton bedding is a popular choice for hot sleepers because of its natural breathability. Unlike synthetic materials, cotton allows air to circulate freely, helping to regulate body temperature and prevent overheating during the night. This makes cotton bedding ideal for those who tend to sweat or feel too warm while sleeping. Another reason why cotton bedding is great for hot sleepers cot bed duvet is that it absorbs moisture well. Cotton can absorb up to 27 times its own weight in water, which means it can help wick away sweat from your skin as you sleep. This not only helps keep you cool but also prevents bacteria and odors from building up on your sheets. Cotton bedding also has a soft and lightweight texture that adds comfort without adding bulk or weight. Its smooth surface doesn't trap heat like other materials such as wool or flannel would do, making it an excellent option all year round. Furthermore, cotton is easy to care for and maintain compared to other fabrics used in beddings such as silk or linen. It's machine washable at high temperatures without losing its quality, which ensures that allergens are kept at bay. Choosing cotton bedding will provide you with maximum comfort regardless of the season by allowing proper airflow between your body and sheets while keeping you dry throughout the night – perfect conditions for any hot sleeper!
Cotton bedding benefits for hot sleepers
Cotton bedding is an excellent choice for hot sleepers as it offers various benefits that can help you have a sound and comfortable night's sleep. First, cotton is highly breathable, which means it allows air to circulate freely through the fabric. This helps regulate your body temperature by keeping you cool when it’s warm and warm when it’s cold. Moreover, cotton bedding with babys cot duvet is lightweight, soft and gentle on the skin. It doesn't trap heat like synthetic fabrics or wool do, making them perfect for those who tend to overheat during the night. Plus, cotton beddings are hypoallergenic and free from irritating chemicals making them safe for sensitive skin types. Choosing high-quality cotton sheets also translates into durability since they can withstand frequent washes without losing their softness or shape. Cotton bedding comes in various thread counts that affect its quality; however, a higher thread count doesn’t necessarily mean better quality if the type of cotton used isn’t good enough. In summary, choosing cotton bedding has numerous advantages for hot sleepers such as breathability to keep your temperature regulated throughout the night while providing comfort through its soft texture and durable nature even after multiple washes.
Cotton bedding vs. other beddings
When it comes to choosing beddings, cotton is the way to go for hot sleepers. But how does cotton bedding with 15 tog duvet compare to other types of beddings? Let's take a closer look. Firstly, let's consider silk bedding. Silk is often associated with luxury and its soft texture can be tempting for some sleepers. However, silk is not as breathable as cotton and can trap heat under the covers which can make sleeping uncomfortable for hot sleepers. Next up is bamboo bedding. Bamboo fabric has gained popularity as an eco-friendly alternative to cotton. While it is also breathable, bamboo fabric tends to hold onto moisture which makes it less desirable for hot sleepers who may sweat throughout the night. We have synthetic materials such as polyester or microfiber. These fabrics are cheaper than natural fibers like cotton but come at a cost in terms of breathability and comfort during warmer months. In summary, while there are many options available when it comes to choosing beddings, cotton remains the best choice for hot sleepers due to its breathability and ability to wick away moisture from the body keeping you cool all night long.
Conclusion
In summary, cotton bedding is the ideal choice for hot sleepers due to its ability to regulate temperature and promote breathability. It provides a comfortable and cozy sleeping environment that encourages uninterrupted sleep throughout the night.
Moreover, unlike other materials such as polyester or silk, cotton bedding offers numerous benefits that cater to hot sleepers' specific needs. From its moisture-wicking capabilities to its durability and hypoallergenic properties, it's clear why cotton remains the most popular choice for bedding worldwide.
So if you're a hot sleeper looking for a quality night's rest without breaking your budget, try switching out your current bedding with 100% cotton options like duvet covers or sets. Your body will thank you for it in more ways than one! Visit www.wowbedding.co.uk for your desirable products.

I realised that I still had my winter duvet on and there's an amber warning for a heatwave from tomorrow onwards so I was going to change to my summer one but then I realised I could just try the duvet cover without a light duvet so I've gone from 13.5 tog to 0 tog 🥲

“summer sucks bc you can’t escape the heat, in winter at least you can wrap up to be warm” - WRONG
i have been using FOUR layers to keep warm at night, including a 13.5 tog winter duvet, and still get shivers. also:
no matter how much vaseline applied: lips still chapped (it also fucking burns)
no matter how many cough drops eaten: throat still hurts
cannot breathe through my nose!!!!
the common cold is turbo-charged and can last weeks, and thanks to my cough, whenever I breathe out it sounds like an elderly demon

Seasonal Considerations:
15 Tog Duvets: A 15 tog duvet provides maximum warmth and comfort for colder months. Consider opting for an eco-friendly version made from natural or recycled materials to keep cozy while still being mindful of the environment.
3 Tog Duvets: A lightweight 3 tog duvet prevents overheating in warmer seasons. An eco-friendly option ensures you can sleep comfortably while reducing your ecological impact.
Winter Tog Duvets: When winter arrives, investing in a higher-top duvet, such as a winter tog duvet, can help you stay warm without relying heavily on heating systems. Look for eco-friendly alternatives to maintain a sustainable lifestyle.
Eco-Friendly Option for Baby's Cot: Extending eco-conscious choices to every family member, including the little ones, is important. TOG prompt! Joe / Nicky - coming in from the cold, winter snow cuddles!
The safe house is old, and while the walls are thick and the windows in good shape, it’s bitterly cold in winter. The stone-flagged floors are frigid as Joe tiptoes to the bathroom in the middle of the night, and his long-sleeved tee and soft, grey joggers aren’t nearly protection enough from the drafts that whistle around his ankles. He takes a leak as quickly as possible, washes his hands, and hurries back to the bedroom, huffing and yelping quietly with every step. There’s enough moonlight to guide him safely, and he makes it to the bed without crashing into the chest-of-drawers, or tripping over a chair.
Nicky makes a pained sound as Joe slides back beneath the enormous duvet and the blankets they’ve stacked on top. “You’re freezing,” he whines.
Joe grumbles softly. “I knoooow,” he replies, tugging the duvet up around himself while burrowing lower. “Fire’s out.”
“Fire’s always out,” Nicky says around an enormous yawn, and he turns onto his side to face Joe, his eyes visible above the covers. “You shouldn’t have drunk that glass of water before . . .”
“Ugh, Nickyyyy,” Joe says impatiently. “Come here, I’m so cold, help meeee.”
Nicky sighs but is already wriggling closer, until they’re plastered chest to toe against one another. Joe slides his arm around Nicky’s body and makes a pleased sound as he snuggles in, one matched by Nicky’s cursing. “Cazzo, your feet . . . .”
“I lost my socks.”
“Where?”
“Somewhere.” Joe wriggles his toes, but the errant articles of clothing don’t present themselves.
“You are a disaster,” says Nicky, but he sounds terribly fond of that fact, and Joe smiles as Nicky’s arm comes around him too.
“I am, I am,” says Joe, tucking his head under Nicky’s chin. “God, you’re warm.”
Nicky snorts softly with laughter. “So glad to be useful.” He presses a kiss into Joe’s bedhead, and Joe sneaks a hand beneath the back of Nicky’s shirt, feels him shiver in response. “Stop moving.”
Joe brushes a clumsy kiss to Nicky’s shoulder, and hums when Nicky skates a hand down his spine. “You first.”
“Madre di dio,” Nicky mumbles, and Joe laughs quietly, drowsy and warm and very content.

Can you do a blurb about Dad!Tom greeting his baby in the morning all sweet but when he greets the reader he smacks her butt, kissing her on the lips muttering a “hey babygirl” or something
ooooooOOOOkaaaay so I got a bit carried away I only intended on a few lines but ha HA here we are so anyway he was awake before you, on this particular occasion, although it was normally you up first because you woke up to the slightest sound. but toDAY, your baby had taken a leaf out of Tom’s book and had a little lay in. So when Tom flickered his eyes open, squinting at the clock on his bedside table, he panicked because he normally wakes up to the sound of you cooking breakfast or the feeling of baby trying to crawl all over him when you brought your beloved little human back to bed because you needed wanted an extra 5 minutes of chilling the EFF out because being a mum was tiiiiiiiiring - but ofc you wouldn’t change it for the woRLD.
Tom would smile cheesily as he turns onto his side, seeing you balled up in the duvet with only your head visible and looking pretty much like a lil sushi roll *insert love eye emoji*. As someone who sleeps in as little clothes as possible, he struggled to understand how you could sleep in a full set of pyjamas and the highest tog duvet and still complain you’re not warm enough. It was, however, very much appreciated when he got home late from filming during the winter months and you’d be his own personal radiator.
He watches you for a short time, admiring the way your freckles look like constellations and hair looks like bird nest, in the prettiest way possible. Although he wanted to stay and admire you for longer, he also missed the presence of baby, heart feeling 1/4 empty because you was there, he was there and Tessa was there - at the end of the bed in a lil ball - which only makes up 3/4 of your family pie. Tessa only raised her head before flopping it back to the bed as Tom stretched, legs falling over the edge of the mattress. He was careful to not wake you, taking tiny, quiet movements in order to sneak out of your bedroom with care. Pulling the door shut behind him, leaving it open just a tad, because he knew you hated when it was fully shut, he felt successful and began tiptoeing next door, peeking his head through the gap of the baby’s door.
His heart never stopped beaming, whenever he saw the little legs and little arms and especially the adorable little face - all of which you and him had created, one drunken night, but what a night it was - and he’d never felt so happy and content. The door creaked open as he pushed it and he winced at the sound, hoping not to tragically wake the baby. The closer he walked to the white crib, the wider his smile grew as he looked at your spitting image - even more so when their eyes fluttered open and bright eyes were staring back up at their daddy. The sound of baby giggles and whines filled the room, baby clutching his fingers back and forth to reach up for papa bear and tom instantly swooped down and picked up the mini human. “Hey you, did you sleep well?” Tom asked gently, supporting the baby with an arm under their little squishy bum and hand resting on their waist and the other picking up their favourite baby comforter, where they never went anywhere without. He obviously knew the baby wouldn’t respond but always talked to them like they was the besets of friends bc Tom knew he would have the best relationship with them forever and ever. “I know you slept well,” Tom answered his own questions, booping the baby on the nose with his comforter. Baby bear responded with a large yawn, stretching our their tiny arms and tom caught their balled up fist in his mouth, making the baby squeal with laughter. “you’re a lazy bum.” Tom wandered around doing the duties, fetching a bottle of milk and sitting in the chair in baby’s room as he fed them, singing stupid nursery rhymes with a personalised twist because basic Humpty Dumpty was sooOooOoOo mainstream bro.
You stood in the doorway around 30 minutes later, admiring how Tom was working on changing the diaper, tickling the youngster in between each step which only results in more baby giggles and it was the softest, softest, softest thing you’d ever heard and it made your heart BURST with pure love. The baby let out a gurgle as tom picked them up, blowing raspberries and most probably drooling all over his shoulder, but he didn’t seem to mind as he threw the diaper in the diaper bin, holding the baby’s hands up in the air and cheering when he slam dunked it straight in. Tom turned around, baby still cuddled close to his chest, and stopped dead in his tracks when he saw you smiling to yourself in the door way. “Oh my god I didn't mean to wake you.”
“Maybe turn off the baby monitor next time,” you smiled, walking over and switching it off yourself. You were by no means angry, in fact, you felt completely the opposite after your extra 30 minute lay in and almost felt like a new woman. You walked over to both papa and baby bear, placing a gentle kiss on both humans cheeks, smoothing your fingers over the baby’s hair because tom had not got round to the part of the routine yet.
Tom, feeling completely unsatisfied with the kiss to his cheek, pulled your arm back when you tried to walk away, spinning and pulling you back to face him in close proximity. He leant down, making sure to support the baby’s back so he didn’t do a back flip from his grasp - not yet anyway, the gymnastics sessions would come later - and pressed his lips to yours, “hey baby girl.” he muttered against you, smiling as baby giggled beside you both. He loved how natural you were in a morning, skin bright and radiant especially more so after an extra bit of kip. He pulled away, speaking to the baby as you tidied the cot, straightening all the blankets and such, “what’s that bub? you want to go back to sleep so mummy and daddy can have some grown-up time?! how kind of you...”
You crossed your arms, raising your eyebrows as you looked at the child who most definitely did not look like they wanna go back to bed anytime soon, the sun only just creeping through the blinds. “Nice try, Thomas. The only thing you’re getting this morning is breakfast.” You laughed, trying not to distract yourself and let your eyes trail down his half naked body, or think about how low his sweats hung from his hips or his hair looked like you’d run your fingers through... because that’s why he was holding your child in the first place. Turning to walk out the room, Tom caught you up, letting the palm of his hand tap against your short covered butt, jolting you forward in surprise. You turned around, Tom innocently fluttering his lashes and pointing at the baby still in his grasp. You rolled your eyes, continuing your journey out of the room before Tom did a celebratory dance with his baby, “maybe later, Tom.”
