E for nhthcth, M and Q, please?
E: If you wrote a sequel to [insert fic], what would it be about?
The thing about nhthcth is that it's going to be very bad for a very long time and then it's going to all get resolved one way or another, for better or for worse. I don't want to say anything about how that ending is going to go, so I'm going to keep it vague.
I'd probably do a sequel with a drastically different tone. Now, it's all plot and serious dark stuff. I'd probably do something really fluffy as a sequel. Like, roadtrip/roommate sitcom/silly fun happy stuff as a sort of "where do we go from here" recovery healing thing. No plot whatsoever. The ending yall get is going to be the ending of the plot, and it’s going to be absolute.
M: Got any premises on the back burner that you’d care to share?
oooh soooooo many. i think the ones i'd most like to one day write (if i ever had the time) would be:
Buzzfeed Unsolved!AU with Gerry Keay, Jon Sims, and Danny Stoker, wherein a few idiots on the run from the supernatural try to cover up their monster-filled lifestyle by pretending to be like, really shitty ghost hunters, only then they accidentally become popular. for being skeptics. as to the existence. of the supernatural. that. they're on the run from. oops. featuring a gertrude who cannot believe that these idiots are actually succeeding.
Peter Parkers Roommate Drama following nwh, wherein they got a fucked up glitch while the wizard was doing magic that let them bounce back and forth between dimensions, so they just. find the one that has the cheapest rent. and all live there together. commute to their own dimensions for Spider-Man and work. because it's too expensive to live alone but they can't have roommates without risking their secret identity. featuring multiple daredevils, avengers, wade wilsons, and j jonah jamesons.
Bucky Barnes Designated Driver AU, wherein Matt Murdock makes so many wrong decisions they round around to the right decision. Daredevil helps out the Winter Soldier, offers him a safe place, and the sheer dumbfuckery this asshole is capable of starts tearing through years of hydra brainwashing and leaves bucky barnes as the only one with sense stuck with the entire new york vigilante population. featuring a half feral peter parker, a may who has been convicted of felony arson and only regrets getting caught, a long-suffering foggy nelson, a terrifying Karen page, and a bucky barnes who cannot believe how fucking stupid these assholes are.
this isn't a fandom I've put anything out for before but I have this elaborate Fake Dating AU between All Might and Inko from My Hero Academia, except instead of Fake Dating it's fake bitter exes. Problems at the entrance exam results in Izuku's parent being called, only he doesn't want this to be how his mom finds out he has a quirk so he calls all might to get him instead. only. they already called his mom. And he called his “dad.” And everyone just sort of decides to roll with it to cover up OFA. So everyone thinks inko and all might had a reallllllllllyyyy messy divorce and are trying to hold it together for their son, that they had together. featuring an exhausted aizawa, an enthusiastic and earnest iida, and a shinsou who has learned entirely too much about the symbol of peace’s home life.
Q: Do you have any discarded scenes/storylines/projects?
also so many. there's a lot of stories that I love but that I’m pretty sure I’ll never write, and a lot of stories where I ended up changing the shape of the story and losing some of what I had. In nhthcth, there was originally a storyline involving Naomi herne and Evan Lukas. I ended up trashing it because it mostly served to bring in another character, and I could do that in a much easier and more direct way. Danny’s story is actually the opposite—he had a much smaller role, and then he ended up getting developed and becoming a central character. I ended up trashing Mike crews original role in the story as a result and rewriting it entirely.
Jon and Gerry made me so sad in nhthcth that I actually have like? 90ish pages? Of a fanfic of like, my own fanfic, where Elias didn’t do his due diligence and bind Jon young and they actually escaped. Agnes Montague was there, and aged down for the sake of the story. In my head, it was called the Gerry Keay Home for Disillusioned Child Messiahs. Fun story, but I’ve ultimately discarded it.
There’s a lot of stories that are just too long for me to commit to writing, so theyre effectively discarded. I had this one Jon Sims/Danny Stoker dated in uni story (based on another tumblr post, I have no idea where that is though, I’ll go back and edit this with credit if I find it again) that was so sad that my friend went into the groupchat to tattle on me for making her sad when I was telling her about it. I wrote like? Twelve pages of it? Then I got distracted with something else. But I love it still.

How did Afo and Inko meet? And what happened to make evolve their relation? (except Izuku) Also, do wyvern/dragons consider as insulting/demeaning to let people climb on their backs to fly or other, or it depends on the individual?
Do you remember that line in Ember?
Inko was woken up by the dying scream of a duck, which was only slightly worse than being woken up by soldiers dragging you from your home, but not by much.
She was speaking from experience.
Once upon a time, a king decided it would be a wonderful idea to make fun of the dragon (”Wyvern.”) that lived in this very kingdom and who had already barbecued it four times.
Said lizard who had just woken from a nap and had the cheerful disposition of a rabid bear tickled in the middle of hibernation informed the kind that his feelings were hurt and that he better prepare the most glorious treasure ever offered if he didn’t want his kingdom drowned in an ocean of flames.
For some reason, the king decided that what the dragon (”WYVERN.”) who had only been interested in quirks, gold, jewels, and so on, meant that he wanted the lovely princess. So he designed a brilliant plan: offer someone else as a sacrifice.
By that point, most of the non-noble population decided to take only what they could carry and piss off in another kingdom for half a year or so. They lack powerful blessings but they make up for it in common sense.
So the king offered an incredible reward for the family that would make the ultimate sacrifice and save the kingdom by offering a daughter. Inko’s adoptive parents, with a heavy heart and about five seconds of reflection, made this decision. For the good of the kingdom, of course.
So they put Inko in a fancy dress, did her hair and make-up, and brought her to where the dragon (”WYVERN!”) lived with clear instructions to stall the lizard because knights that would absolutely be there would trap him, and thank you for your grand sacrifice, thanks to you, we are going to destroy the evil lizard, you’re totally going to survive this.
All for One found his offering that was neither full of blessings nor full of gold, so no interest whatsoever. He was about to steal her blessing and get rid of her when Inko did what everyone in her situation would have done.
She snitched. In glorious details.
Because Inko knew she was going to die. The least she could do was to make sure everyone followed her.
All for One was not amused and immediately flew out for a grocery run, some smiting, and all in all, teaching the difference between a dragon and a wyvern to this stupid kingdom. In any case, it ended with the Dark lands being torched for the fifth time and him getting all of their treasures.
He had just forgotten one woman-sized detail.
You see, Inko decided to walk out before realizing that she was in the middle of the mountains, in winter, in a beautiful frilly dress, and that even if she somehow managed to walked down those mountains, she would die from cold and hunger long before she reached a kingdom that wasn’t reduced to cinders.
So she awkwardly walked back to the wyvern’s den because it was warm and she had nowhere else to go.

Nothing Gold Can Stay
Nothing Gold Can Stay by rain on his umbrella
The War has been raging for nearly ten years, with seemingly no end. The old king, Yuuei's symbol of peace, is dead. His crown prince has gone missing. Their borders are months from succumbing to invasion, the soldiers are weary, and the people are starving. It seems as though Yuuei may finally fall.
Izuku is happy to live his life alone, where he couldn't ruin anything else. Serving as a general had ruined him; his magic damaged beyond repair, his pride in tatters with no hope of recovery. When a stranger winds up half-dead in his woods, fate seems to have other plans for him.
Raised in secrecy, Shouto has become the greatest witch the world has ever known—or not known. His mother, stolen from him as a young boy, his father unequipped to show him empathy or kindness in any of those long years. So he ran. And he got lost. Winding up in enemy territory in the dead of winter, Shouto expected that his life might finally come to the wicked end he'd been expecting. How wrong he was.

The day before Izuku leave for the Empire, he walks out into the open grassland and kneels before his gods — the land where he stands, the air in which he breathes, and the sky that hangs above him — praying for a safe journey and for courage, so that he would not look back when he depart.
Izuku is not the first, nor will he be the last, Eien princeling to be offer to the gaping jaw of the Empire. His Second Sister had her ship capsized, his Fourteen Brother and his caravan got swallowed up by a sandstorm, and his Twenty-Nine Brother lost his life to an intended blade going for his head.
Izuku had watched with numb silence as countless Eien princes and princesses had either come back home alive but broken in some way or don't come back at all.
The Krol of the Great Grassland has numerous wives to lie with and even more numerous children to give up. Izuku is the Ninety-nine Prince of Eien and the nineteen sacrificial lamb overall to the Empire. His prospect does not look good, but Izuku didn't survive this long to adulthood to die on foreign soil.
So he prays to his gods, but arms himself with a smile on his face and a dagger in his boot.
Sent off with twelve trunks of clothes, a treasure trove of jewelries from his father, a troop of guards to protect him, and ten handmaidens to tend to his needs, but none of it matter except for his vial of his mother’s ashes and an old journal that hopefully will keep him occupied in the month’s long journey.
Not to be outdone, and face with the prospect of losing another Eien prince to some ridiculous rumor of a curse spread about their crown prince being impossible to wed, they'd sent a retinue of the Empire's best knights to ensure Izuku will arrive at their doorstep alive and whole.
It's a long and arduous journey ahead for Izuku and only a few of his siblings had made it through, but he didn't survive this long in his father's harem and countless assassination attempts and sabotages from the other wives for him to lose his life here and now.
Izuku is soft, prone to tears and delicate in the ways that often make his father frown, and therefore wasn't Father's first, second, nor third choice to be wed out to the Empire, but with his mother gone and while Father is kind and loves him deeply, he has a hundred of other children to dote on – Izuku chose to venture across the sea to start anew.
Izuku is not skill in military arts, stately affairs, or is he talented in the ways of spycraft and saboteur; he lives in the library with his head stuck in the books, combing through pages and pages of ancient tomes of long forgotten empires and riveting legacies of conquerors. If he has his way, he'll die a quiet and easily forgettable death among his father’s people, being the Nine-nine Eien Prince is good enough fate for someone as simple as him with no ambition or duty to be had, but his mother's last words to him still ring in his ears before the sickness took her from his arms.
"Before I was your Father’s wife, I was born across the Grand Abyss and within the Empire’s grip, there exist kingdom that no longer exist, its people scattered to the winds, and its history and culture ravaged by raiders. It was my home. It was your home,” she had said to him on her deathbed. “I wish for you to go there one day and laid me to rest among the ashes of my mother and father and all that I had lost.”
Izuku is not beautiful, strong, or particularly interesting at all, but he’s a dutiful son and he has a promise to fulfill.
So he leaves the land of his birth and all the good and miseries of it behind him with the full knowledge that if he's to ever to return it'll be either in casket or as a consort to the Empire; one where ends up as a corpse and the other is bloody path to the crown.
Neither prospect looks good from his end, but he had sworn to his dear mother and he’s so tired of seeing his siblings marched to their deaths, let him bear the burden and dealt his hand at this game of throne; after all he is his mother’s son.
Lady Inko had come to this land with nothing but the clothes on her back, her quick wits and a keen smile had easily charmed all those around her. She eventually laid claimed to his father’s favor, gave him a child, and kept Izuku alive through various nefarious harem’s plot with no family, power, or wealth to support her. His mother, his gentle mother, had fought hard to make a place for herself and her son in this foreign land; she fought so Izuku can live because one does not leave their name in the history book by being quiet and still. This is the first lesson his mother had taught him after he had nearly died by a poisoning and she had the plotter dragged out and hang for it. His mother is kind but she’s fierce and resilience, she didn’t just survive in this brutal land by the skin of her teeth but thrive.
And so Izuku had volunteered himself as the next betrothed to the Dragon Prince of the Empire, because this is how stories begin. One step at a time.
He’ll be like his lady mother, a force to be reckoned with. He just prays and prays that he'll be the last and only princeling to be sent to the Empire.
The path he now walks, take him on a month long journey through rough mountain pass, hazardous sand dunes, and dangerous waters. Longer still if they're met by raiders and slavers, unruly weather, and assassination attempts by various ongoing fraction conflicts that had killed more than one of Izuku's siblings.
The captain of his personal guard, Ishidora, is quick to assure him of any lingering fears of the ill-fate of last prince and princesses before him, but Izuku doesn't relax fully not even in the grim presence of the grey cloaked soldiers of the Empire, the Knights of Winter Moon.
Ruling over a third of the western realm, the Empire is a military juggernaut that had long advanced into a blend alchemy and machine — they ride on metal dragons and fly on steel wings — while Izuku's people still weaved magic by blood, sweat, tears, and long forgotten gods of old.
Blessing from gods are powerful, but rare and unpredictable as the whims of all gods are, but the Empire tamed and brutalized magic, made it their own and brutalized it into a weapon to fight wars. It feels wrong to use something holy in such a way, because the gods may not always be fair but they watch and judge over them.
Wild ancient magic have always rule his people, seeping into the foundation of their land where the gods still whisper words to their ears if they listen hard enough and keeps the Empire at bay, where not even their mighty metal dragons can touch this untamed grassland.
Like the divine land that gave birth to Izuku and his people, he too, will not be conquer by the godless Empire. His gods are always with him, even when Izuku leaves for far, far away soil where their touch feels light and small against the shadow the Empire casts overhead.
This morning like many others, Izuku walks out of his tent, ventures into a clearing where he faces north and kneels on wet ground with clasped hands. He offers up oath and loyalties to his gods. He can't see or can't hear them, but he knows they're there all the same.
"Why beg for scraps from some bodiless spirit when you can just seize everything yourself?
Izuku's head snap to the new voice and he rises unsteadily to his feet to glare at the hooded cloak figure, lingering in the back of him. The hood doesn't go down and the face remains obscure by the shadow of it, but he knows that voice. Hates that voice. "Sir Zero, please don't speak of such offense,” he rebukes.
His wedding procession is made up mostly of his people that are sent with him, but the Knights of Winter Moon are always close at hand, watching and guarding. Izuku may be quiet and easily unremarkable but he's attentive, paying close attention to the strange grey cloak soldiers who will one day be his.
The sun shines upon the Empire just as their Rex does, while the moon support and guide them and the Regina sits high as their emblem. The Knights of Winter Moon serves at the behest of the Regina and if Izuku is to survive he must gain their trust and loyalty.
Since the first time he'd met them, he made effort to reach out and understand them, but they're only coolly receptive if ever careful of the strange prince from a stranger land. It's fine, fidelity are after all hard fought and no battle that are worth fighting for are easy to win.
He knows this. He had watched his mother fought for the allies around her, but it doesn't change the fact that when they were first introduced one knight in particular had made such a sloppy attempt at a respectable bow, a slight nod of his head, as though he was unused to lowering himself that he doesn’t know how to do it; it had irked Izuku.
Such careless disrespectful display.
And he spoke to Izuku with a dismissive tone that made had made him feel ever so small and helpless: "The Ninety-nine Prince, eh?" Sir Zero sneers. "Must be hard for the Krol to remember all those extra kids he got. Does he forget often forget your name too?"
Elbowing Zero to be quiet, the Captain of the Winter Knights was quick to apologize to him for his subordinate’s ill-manners and even as Izuku smiled and smiled in acceptance, anger and hurt easily gave away afterward. They don't care much for him, he knows, probably thinking he too will be cut down before he step a single foot on their land. But he is a prince and Zero is but a lowly knight, so he should not look at Izuku like an overly large cat playing with their food. It's—it's humiliating and dangerous.
"You're so dedicated to your gods that you would fall to your knees on muddy ground to prove yourself," Zero says with a cock of his head. "I wonder if you will show that same kind of devotion to our prince later?"
Izuku flushes. "The manner in which I show devotion to your prince is none of your concern," he says, stumbling forward a little on the uneasy ground that had been a washed by the early morning rain.
They had set up camp the evening before, not knowing it would pour by the time night came round and rain pounded hard against the tents. By morning, the grounds are drenched and muddy, Captain Ishidora had warned Izuku to be careful but Izuku didn’t want to miss his prayer. Not even for rain.
The prayers are led by the rise and fall of the sun and their face turned toward the sky. For the devout the prayers are most sacred and profound in the light of day and with the open sky above up to them, so Izuku had an area cleared out so he can be with his gods alone.
But he is never truly alone, is he? "And stop stalking me!" Izuku continues, annoyed at having his prayer session disrupted by Zero of all people.
"I'm not, it's my duty and don't fucking move," Zero scolds at him, watching Izuku moves uneasily toward him as his boots sink to the ground with every step. The entire ground is wet and muddy and Izuku had barely found a safe patch enough to kneel. "You're going to face plant into the mud and have no one to blame but yourself."
Izuku huffs indignantly, approaching him with trepidation. Hands swaying in the air as anger makes him blind to the choked hold the mud had on his next step. "I am not going to—!" And he falls, face first.
The grip of the mud is like quick sand that drags him down and down like fallen timber. The next thing he knows he has a face full of it. He coughs out all the dirt clogging his throat and pulls himself up, sitting on his knees. Trying to wipe his face clean, which doesn't help at all because it only smear it around, he glares at the figure before him.
Zero's shoulders are hunched over and he's quivering so hard that his hood fall, but not of fear for himself that he had truly anger a prince, but the shaking of his body is only follow by a loud laughter that rings in Izuku's ears.
It's light and young and so carefree.
Izuku didn't think Zero was capable of making such sound when all he had heard from him were belligerent jabs and annoyed scoffs followed by scowling face as though that was all he's able to do.
It's almost lovely to the ears. Almost.
Zero's grin is mirthful as he moves through the sludge with unfair ease. "Do you need help, Your Highness?" It’s the first respectable thing that come out of his mouth and that makes it even more infuriating.
Izuku's glare deepens even as he feels heat rises to his cheek and has to bite down a scream of embarrassment because looking up at Zero's cocky face, blond hair and red eyes that can cut even glass, he looks so, so beautiful against the light of day when he's victorious and it's a damn shame Izuku hates him for it.

Recluse Vampire Izuku
Inspired by @25coriandah‘s little bit of art (which isn’t even something that happens in this part, oops) where Izu finds Wolf Pup Kacchan and has no clue how Werewolves work, and every book is wrong.
Slightly moved the Timeline Forward c.1920s America, Izu still dresses in his Victorian Garb. Where they’re currently living NOT specified, but that’s what I had in mind while writing this.
If you wanna get State Specific, I was thinking Colorado
Izuku’s age is based on the Grigori legends (11-13th centuries) so I headcanon that he just really liked his early-Victorian Clothes.
Yes, I made the girl that turned him Toga and the girl he turned Uraraka
Also yes, I combined the standard Vampire fangs with Supernatural’s mouth full of retractable ones because I just love those but it still seems kinda dumb that they lose the regular fangs.
Part One:
Sorry that this is just planning out Izuku’s backstory, but I wanted to make sure I had at least a slight foundation for Izuku’s character before introducing Katsuki.
Izuku was the sole son of a noble and a merchant’s daughter when his father died his family refused to accept either of them into their family. So while he was the only man alive that held his mother’s strong merchant name, he was rejected by the ones that had true sway in the world they lived in.
His mother had married his father as young as she did- a mere fourteen- because her father was dying and they all knew that while Inko Midoriya knew the ins and outs of all the sales her father had been doing for years no one would take her seriously without a husband doing the negotiations for the business. As the fifth son of a noble family, Hisashi actually stood to gain something by marrying into the Midoriyas and forgoing his noble name.
It had been senseless violence that had turned that on its head a mere two years after they’d met, mere months after Inko had given birth to Izuku. A random killing that happened for no reason other than the fact that the man wanted to do it.
Now without her father, husband, and a baby on her hip, Inko had no chance of keeping the sales moving the way they had been. Izuku grew up learning all he could about his mother’s inheritance, that he could fight to take back once he was of age. But life was still difficult for them. Winters were harsh and Izuku had to convince men at least twice his age to take him seriously.
Rather difficult when he didn’t have much of shouting tone in his voice box, and he was rather unassuming looking. He just wished he was a hidden monster, able to show them that he could prove them wrong.
He wished that for many years.
He got his wish when he was sixteen. But not in the way he wanted.
A man Izuku had never done trade with before showed up at his mother’s business, asking for him specifically.
Something felt strange about but business hadn’t been going well recently with the groups choosing sides and fights breaking out in the streets. They needed this deal if the man was seriously going to give them half the money he was offering.
It all went to hell from there.
He should’ve realized why he felt like he recognized the man’s face far sooner than he did. When he finally figured it out, he was in too deep. This wretched man was a lord, one of the ones who was bringing the fights into the streets. Despite that, he hardly seemed to lose any of his pawns.
Izuku found out why that night. The teeth dug into his throat catching on his trachea, choking him with that, and when blood flowed into his lungs he felt like he was drowning.
When the teeth let go the last thing he expected was to wake back up.
But he did. His throat was sore, bone dry, and his stomach burned for food.
He had this habit of gnawing on his lower lip but was stunned when he felt a harsh prick in his lip and blood on his tongue.
He came face to face with the one who bit him again, a blonde woman who looked to be about his age, with gold eyes, and sharp canines.
For some reason he hissed at her, feeling his jaw flex in an unfamiliar way. She returned it and he watched stunned as her two sharpened canines, as well as the rest of her teeth were covered by a new row of pointed teeth sharper than even her unnaturally sharp teeth.
Izuku felt his stomach drop as he realized that would explain the strange feeling of his jaw flexing.
Whatever she was, she had turned him into.
She used his paused to pin him to the floor, like the rabid animal he was acting like.
Izuku could hear the clanging of chains from down the hall as clear as if they were in the cell with him. Though once they reached the cell he heard something else.
A strong, loud, fast, pumping and it made his newly acquired teeth ache.
The chains stopped rattling, the pumping remained and Izuku fought the blonde girl for an entirely new reason.
“Try not to kill her, but if you do that’s ok too.” those were the first words she said to him and Izuku didn’t understand what they meant. “Though she’s a bit of a pest, so I hope you do kill her.”
He would not kill. That was a fact and no matter what had happened to him, that would not change.
The blonde kept him pinned by the neck, watching as she let Izuku see what was the source of his new hunger pangs. A girl, brown hair and brown eyes, blush in her cheeks as she struggled against the chains that kept her from going any further than three feet from the eyelet in the floor.
He wanted to eat this girl. His stomach would’ve rolled if it wasn’t so hungry.
When the blonde woman let him up, he didn’t even think, he just moved. Moved so fast he heard her wrists snap at the pull of the chains, the crack of her skull against the stone. Only pausing when he heard the beating her chest slow to what he knew was a dangerous point.
He was killing her. That killed his hunger in an instant. With the hunger no longer clouding his mind, something else kicked in and all he knew was that he was using his teeth, that were currently latched onto the side of her neck, to inject her with something.
Finally, he could take his teeth out of her, looking back at the blonde with horror and confusion in his eyes.
She just smiled, then cheered at the fact that she was still alive. Izuku breathed a little easier at that, only then did she lead him out of the cell and back to the upstairs. Where he met with the man who wanted to pay him again.
The man explained what had happened to Izuku, what he was planning to do now, and that his mother had been told he was dead- since he could no longer act like he was human- and given the entire amount that Izuku had been told they would receive.
It was unsurprising to Izuku that his mother planned to leave. This city had taken away her husband, and to her knowledge, her son. This country had taken her mother and her grandparents. The only thing that eased his heart was that they had lost track of her considering she left so quickly afterward.
It made his refusal to kill and play soldiers easy. Especially considering it had the man more than willing to try and kill him, and when Izuku escaped, he was pursued through the night, but after that, they were willing to just let him die.
Had Izuku not been as inquisitive in the after-death as he was in his true life, he probably would’ve. Yet, he learned that he could survive on the blood of animals, for the most part, and only needed the blood of actual humans once a year.
It took about a decade before he met more like him.
Most of them were in small groups, maxing out at about a dozen.
The man that had planned to use Izuku had hundreds.
It took him until then to realize exactly how much about him had changed, physically. Other than the things he realized on his own.
His ears were pointed now, he did, in fact, have two sets of teeth. His canines were the only parts of his teeth that could possibly give him away without him either feeling threatened, going hungry for long periods of time, or when he was feeding. Sunlight could kill him, though what he had been told was in fact untrue.
It wasn’t direct sunlight that would kill him, he’d just get sunburned easily, it was sunlight through a blessed magnifier. Though magnifier sounded like a stretch since church windows were apparently strong enough to do him in.
His reflection no longer showed in mirrors due to the presence of a holy metal. While it wouldn’t kill him- like their mythical opposite- it did reflect that he no longer had a pure being to be reflected.
He would, in fact, never age again.
That made Izuku ready to go charging back into the monster’s den and kill him, he was constantly underestimated due to his age and now that would never stop.
He wouldn’t call himself nomadic, he had met several small groupings of vampires that were and he didn’t really fit in with them either, instead, he moved along on his own.
Eventually, he ended up in England. At first, the sheer number of vampires worried him. It had been nearly five hundred since he had seen a grouping this large, and he was only lucky that the group had destroyed itself from the inside out before anything too horrendous could happen.
Once he had realized that they were peaceful, and surprisingly scared of him when he said when and where he had been turned, he was less worried.
Though he stayed to keep a close eye on them.
It was also surprising that while they covered a vast portion of a country, these people were strongly connected.
He’d never tell them but it made him feel suffocated.
It came with the upside that he’d been able to see the brunette girl he’d turned all those years ago was still… he couldn’t say alive, perhaps Not Dead worked in this situation?
At least both of them were offended that the only reason they had been called together was the fact that they were turned around the same time in the same area.
Her presence made things feel less suffocating. For awhile. Not to mention she had a life outside of Izuku being this stranger that she just happened to know.
He stayed put for the longest time in his life, but when every single one of their kind in the country knew him by name and face he needed to leave. Now.
Despite the outcry of war.
He’d settled away from where he thought humans would settle but was surprised to find that there were Natives who lived in this area already.
While they were distrusting of him at first, they quickly realized that Izuku couldn’t care less about them if they left him alone.
Sometimes he wished he’d cared more, by the time it was too late. Yet, he stayed largely disconnected from other people, despite how much time continued to pass.
He’d become something of a myth- more than he already was- which he could accept, because it largely kept people away from him. Even if meant that he would have to go a bit further when he actually needed to drink human blood.
Which was why he was stunned to his core when he stumbled across a small blonde child, unconscious in the woods near his property. He may be a myth but he’d been alive for centuries so he had enough money to pay his taxes, unlike some people nowadays. He wondered if that was why the boy had been left in the woods. One too many mouths to feed.
The boy’s heart was loud, possibly too loud and too fast, given his size and apparent age, but Izuku felt something he hadn’t felt since he was truly alive, a pull to another person.
He barely realized he’d already moved by the time he had the blonde boy in his arms. That was when something caught his eye. The boy’s ears weren’t covered by his spiky blonde locks as Izuku had thought, rather they were upon his head, pointy, and covered in equally blonde fur. He also had a tail, from what Izuku could feel. Though it was tucked down his pant leg so Izuku had missed it on his preliminary scan of the boy.
Social recluse, yes. Moron, far from it, he had all new books and hundreds of old ones he’d had his acquaintances in other countries send him when he decided to make this his permanent home.
He still sent letters to most of them, across several countries, and the more studious ones were easy to agree to buy two of all books and send him one. So long as he returned the favor. He’d agreed when one of them had literally come to find him across a wartorn country because he hadn’t sent him a new book.
He just hoped that somewhere in his collection had at least some information to help him with the small boy.
@thepinkjinx, I hope this appeases you until I can finish my next bit.

A Thousand
Izuku’s first dead memory was when he was five years old. One of Kacchan’s friends had turned into a behemoth of a monster when he pushed Izuku into the dirt. One second it was a five-year-old child with pudgy red cheeks and brown eyes. The next moment Izuku was flooded with the memories of another life, another dream.
He saw a small village filled with wooden houses. He knew exactly which one was the baker’s house, the butcher’s house, his mother’s house. Everyone in the village had a name that Izuku could just put his finger on, and that included his attacker’s name. It was Ritzu he was the butcher’s son from the next town over. He was in the market looking for a thief, a sense of impending guilt washed over Izuku’s stomach as he hid behind buildings, carefully dodging out of the way.
The contact broke and Izuku went skidding across the pavement. Izuku was back in his own time, locking eyes with the attacker.
“You stole my horse,” the other boy blurted.
“You’re the butcher’s son! Wait, why did I steal your horse?”
“I don’t know, why did you steal my horse?”
The two came to an awkward silence, trying to find the answer in the other’s eyes. The answer could have been right there if they just held out hands again, but the experience was so jarring that Izuku would have preferred not too.
Later that night he recalled the account with his mother, remembering the brief moment of an aged village and the neighboring butcher’s son. Apparently, Izuku had stolen a horse.
Inko laughed and laughed. She shared her first dead memory with Izuku about watching a Roman boy take a shit in the street before throwing it at her vegetable stand. Sometimes dead memories weren’t all too glamorous when they were dug up from the bowels of time.
It was years later in battle when Izuku experienced his second dead memory. He was carrying a young girl to safety away from a battle when the two were overwhelmed with memories. A small hole in her stockings and a burnt glove revealed more than Izuku cared to remember.
It was the bowels of London in the late 1700s. Izuku was an elderly woman with more than a penny to spare and a vacant soul. An elegant young man was calling out for his goods.
“Memories for sale,” the young man called out. “Memories for sale! A copper for a touch. Memories for sale!” Izuku had indulged, he had never seen a memory seller before and it was worth such a small coin. The two held hands and nothing had happened. They had never encountered each other before that life. But the man did not flinch, instead, he flipped back the coin with a wink.
“Pay me back in our next.”
Izuku blinked back to reality in the second he was gone. The little girl in his arms held out her hand with a serious expression.
“A deal’s a deal,” she whispered.
Izuku went back after the battle and gave her a hundred yen coin.
The third time Izuku had a dead memory was one night in the late spring. He was sitting in front of his best friend, Todoroki Shouto looking down at a pale palm. The two had been messing around on Shouto’s floor, scrolling through social media and discussing the latest hero scandals.
The hero Manuel was fighting a villain earlier that week when they touched hands and discovered that they had been married just over a hundred years ago. The fight had stopped altogether in an instant and the villain was taken to jail.
It was so scandalous to have to share your memories with others, but there was no other way to explain Manuel’s sudden win and his desire to escort the villain to jail. The two had a lot to talk about.
“It’s just so strange,” Izuku said, scrolling through his phone. “None of my memories were ever with people I was intimate with before, just a few strangers.”
“I’ve never touched anyone I’ve shared a life with,” Todorki confessed with a well-hidden blush.
“Really?”
“Yeah, I’ve never had a shared life with my family and… I haven’t touched anyone else.”
The two sat in silence, their phones falling asleep.
“Would you like to try?” Izuku asked sitting up to look back at his best friend. Todoroki looked determined and frightened all at once. Todoroki looked serious.
“You don’t have to if you don’t want to,” Todoroki whispered, letting the darkness take the brunt of his words. “I’ve just never done it before and I… I want to try it with someone I trust.”
Izuku was honored that Shouto wanted to be his first. The two had grown close over the past few years, even moving in next to each other in the dorm halls. They were inseparable in their final year, constantly pairing up for training exercises and whispering in each other’s ears about going to the same hero agency. Their mailboxes were full of recruitment letters from similar agencies. Shouto just had one request of their future plans that Izuku accepted without a second thought, not Endeavor.
Izuku looked at Shouto’s open palm with curiosity. He had only ever seen his mother’s hands before. With the way the world tried to stay in the present, it was a rare and precious sight to see an open palm, let alone barred skin. The two were grateful to have never shared a past so they could focus on the here and now. Shouto’s hands were larger with dark brown calluses going across his palm and fingertips.
Izuku removed his gloves without a second thought, letting the thick polyester gloves fall next to him.
“What if we’ve never met before?” Izuku asked. “What if nothing happens?”
Shouto just shrugged in response, he had no clue. Likely, their shared relationship wouldn’t change. They’d still be best friends, just two friends with a shared past.
The moment that Izuku touched Shouto’s hands the two fell silent as the memories swarmed their minds.
Izuku was young, a bride on her wedding day. She had just turned 16 and her father had decided it was time to go to another house, someone more powerful and rich. Someone she had never met before. She was garbed in a deep crimson that was customary of her religion and her father was giving her hand over to her future husband. He had a kind looking face, dark earthen skin, and dimpled cheeks. The moment that their hands touched the world changed again and the two were lost in their memories.
Izuku was a soldier that worked hard for his position in the army. His life was difficult but good. He often sent his spare wages back to his sister and her family. He didn’t know what to do after the war. It was his best friend and fellow foot soldier that gave Izuku life. The two shared stories under the stars and hushed whispers of a friendship that could get them killed.
It was the last night of their leave and Izuku had to ask if Milo- Shouto- would stay away from the barracks for the night. Just one night. It didn’t take much convincing, especially when Milo’s lips tasted so sweet for their first kiss hidden behind a curtain.
Izuku was the same woman again, the one with too many coins and not enough things to spend them on. A new jeweler had opened his doors and Izuku was delighted to see what stones were for sale. A young woman stood behind the counter wiping away non-existent dust. Izuku pulled her aside and began to grill her on the wares in the store. She passed with flying colors.
It was an accident that caused them to touch. Izuku’s purse had fallen to the ground and the two both bent down to get it at the same time. They bumped heads for just a second but it was enough to transport them back in time.
Izuku was a widow with seven children sitting on his front porch. He was looking out over the grape vineyard that was his home when a young man came by. He was tall with dark blond hair and mismatched eyes. “Sir, I’m terribly sorry to bother you, but I’d heard from the next town over that you’re looking for farm hands.”
“Aye.”
“Well, may I work for you? I’m very strong and I need work to support myself.”
Izuku thought for a moment long and hard. All of his daughters were off with their husbands. Only two of his sons remained around the area and came to help with the harvest and the planting. Most of his fruits and vegetables were already planted earlier in the year. But he still needed help with the soil tilling and weeding.
“I can offer you twenty francs a week. Does that sound like a fair price?”
The young man nodded, walking up to Izuku and extending a hand.
“That sounds mighty fair to me,” the man said.
The two shook on their decision and were transported back again.
Again and again, Izuku and Shouto went back memory after memory. A town crier. A baker. A thief. A prince. A knight. A solider. Again and again, the two had met in each life they had ever lived, touching each other and gasping with delight.
It was eons previously when the two’s journey ended. It was a Neolithic era, deep in the bowels of their memories. Izuku was a young hunter, not 18 winters old. Shouto was a different hunter only 17 winters old. The two had known each other for years, hunting alongside each other, keeping watch on each other’s backs. Izuku was infatuated. Shouto was enamored. They were inseparable. They were in love. The first time they touched was such a passionate kiss that their souls imprinted on one another, melding into one whole soul. It that special kind of moment that you never forgot. A first kiss was always important.
When Izuku woke up only a minute had passed, and Izuku was lightheaded. A thousand first touches were still fresh in his mind. But something was different. Izuku wasn’t sitting up, gently caressing an open palm.
Izuku was lying on his back, his fingers running through soft hair, curling and, twisting. His eyes were closed, when before they had been open. There was something heavy on top of him, a dense weight that ran across his entire body. His lips-
Izuku gasped, pulling his partner in closer. This was Elliot the farm hand, or maybe Maliek his husband. Was is Alyssa the jeweler? Milo the solider? Puta his business partner? Edward his prince? Petra, Connor, Shita, Kut, Robin, Kisha, Shouto.
Shouto.
This was Shouto the hero. Shouto his friend.
Shouto.
Shouto pulled away from the kiss and blinked owlishly down at Izuku.
“Hi,” Shouto whispered, looking down at Izuku’s deep green eyes.
“Hey.” Izuku was flabbergasted at what he just remembered. Every life he’s ever lived he can remember as clearly as the days that he had died in those lives. Some lives were short. Some were long. But each one had a fateful encounter with Shouto.
“Is it always like this?” Shouto asked, still lying on top of Izuku.
“Never,” Izuku swore. “It’s usually only a second, just the first time we touch. But this… I remember every second we’ve ever been together. I didn’t think it was possible.”
Shouto grinned. “You remember that horse?”
“Oh my god, you always bring that up! You dared me to steal it!”
Izuku and Shouto both fell into each other with laughter. Izuku wrapped his arms around Shouto, letting his soulmate embrace him. How strange that just a minute ago he wondered if Shouto could ever return his feelings, but now they didn’t even need to say it. A thousand lifetimes had already screamed it enough for the message to be clear.
“I love you,” Shouto whispered, letting his head rest on Izuku’s chest.
“I love you too,” Izuku whispered back. “I always have, and I always will.”
