"Somewhere, anywhere! Does it really matter?"

a slow sunday and the lack of immediate tasks in your schedule was all you needed. and what better way to spend the day with your beloved than taking him out for a ride?

deuce was kind enough to lend you his blastcycle for this little trip of yours, wishing you good luck and all, and you've already gotten permission to go out from the headmage the day before, as much as you hated his gut. meanwhile, ortho was doing his best to get idia waiting outside of campus, and making sure he didn't second guess his desicions before you arrive.

and that led us to where you were now, going kilometres per hour as if gliding through the highway, feeling the cool wind of a chilly afternoon excitedly picking up your hair as the sun retreated behind the mountains. you loved the thrill it gave you, if the bright wide grin on your face was of any indications.

idia, on the other hand, was a bit overwhelmed. with his arms coiled tightly around your waist, hands trembling ever so slightly, he hid his face in your hair, not daring even a peek at the blurring surroundings.

"It's not a ride if you can't see what made it so fun in the first place, Idia! Just give it a try, then we can go back if you want."

idia stayed quiet, weighing his options. he could ask you to go back and return to the monotony of his life, safe yet nothing special. or, he could continue on this ride, just you and him on the road to an ambiguous destination.

he opened his eyes, widening as they laid on the most beautiful painting of dusk mother nature had drawn. white, pink, and orange blended together so harmoniously on a darkening blue canvas. rows of clouds lined the sky, bouncing around the little lights left of the sun onto the crashing waves the sea created.

his breath was taken away.

"Quite a sight, isn't it?"

idia could only muttered a soft 'yeah' as his eyes glued at picturesque scenery, taking in all he could for he wasn't sure he was going to see such a sight again. his tight grip on you slowly loosened, now only wrapping around your waist like a warm hug you would give him on chilly days.

the moon soon made its appearance as the canvas of nature was painted black, stars glimmering from beyond like diamonds in the sky. the two of you was making your way back to campus, with the blastcycle's headlights and idia's hair illuminating the road.

idia found the night sky was beautiful, a lot different from dusk, but he loved it all the same.

it was a fleeting sensation of a thrill so different than what his heart was used to, but it was welcoming, a comfort even. especially when you were there with him, laughing without a care and genuinely living in the moment.

it was a memory he wished to never forget.

#brot posts #astro posting #photography #no comments really. standard moon photo from me #can only take so many pics of the moon until it becomes redundant.#i will say though i did try something new today and that was by using a 3 second delay between when i hit the screen to take the photo and #when it actually took the photo #and i think that helped #bc any sort of movement from me touching myphone will cause the image to blur #and i normally counteract that by taking a video instead #but then theres the degradation of quality by nature of taking screenshots of a video yknow #so just taking a normal photo and finding a way to not have my finger tapping cause bluriness i think was a slight game changer #chromatic aberration was also still really bad as normal but it was better so that i could just decrease the saturation on this pic #and therefore basically get rid of it #but the blurriness of the aberration is still there of course. U__U #but the fact i can edit it mostly away does mean the aberration isnt as bad as normal and again i think that was bc of the delay

Gonna rant about starfield so if you like the game just dont read this it’s not for you.

Gave starfield another go, lasted a couple hours this time got to the planet with the city on but…

It’s just so boring.

And bg3 on ultra looks stunning on my pc, ultra settings on starfield looks like a bit sharper grey boringness. And runs like a potato?

I don’t think this game is playable tbh. Also another game where you pointlessly make a character to never see it again… Maybe I’m still obsessed with bg3 but Larian is just really showing up how LAZY Bethesda has gotten

i was reloading my game and trying to get that one kiss animation where gale kisses your tav on the cheek and then they pull him in for an actual kiss to play again because i thought it was so cute. and i have not managed to get it again but i did get this one where elenion put his hand on gale's head and touched their foreheads together before kissing him?? augh i hadn't seen that one at all yet and it's the exact kind of thing i'm incredibly weak for 🥺🥺🥺 i love them.

I don't have twitter, so I didn't see anything regarding the "AAA devs complaining about BG3" and I've only seen vague posts about it. It didn't sit right with me that AAA devs, who get regularly abused and overworked by the higher-ups, would be talking shit about a game this way.

Now, finally, someone explained it to me and basically what they mean by saying "shouldn't be the industry standard" is the fact that they're scared that the publishers/execs will double down on them, push them further to make a "better game" - basically overwork them to death for a lesser pay. Publishers usually want these games to churn out as fast as possible, so they push impossible deadlines and crunch onto the devs.

And as how I see it, they also mean by "industry standard" is "don't expect us to give you games w/o microtransactions because the publishers/execs have the final word, not us"

My takeaway is that they worded it poorly, but I find it distasteful to attack AAA devs who are already constantly fucked over by the system. They're scared that the publishers will notice these games and double down on their already bullshit behavior; and also they're trying to lower people's expectations. I think saying "Don't expect the same from us, because we can't do much about it" would've been a more appropriate way to phrase it.

Also, I'm pretty sure they are under NDAs, so they cannot be too transparent, which is why they approach game journos anonymously when Jason Schreier is making another "this AAA company abused its employees" article.

it’s a good thing I bought Assassin’s Creed Valhalla purely for the sake of digital tourism because everything else about the game fucking sucks lmao. but hey, fantastic environment references for writing Viking Age DenEng fics!

in any case, I’ve played through enough of AC Valhalla and AC Odyssey that if anyone would like some screenshots of a specific place in Viking Age England/Norway and Peloponnesean War Greece (as imagined by Ubisoft) for like references for writing or art or whatever, just send me a message and I’ll try to get the location you want.

I have other games I’m willing to do the same with but haven’t finished playing on this pc so it might take awhile for me to get references: AC Black Flag, AC3, AC Origins, Vampyr, RDR2, A Plague Tale: Innocence, Kingdom Come: Deliverance. so if the setting of any of those games interest you lmk.

THIS WAS SO FUNNY... honestly i don't think i give enough credit to akihiko and mitsuru's dynamic they're literally so good i really enjoy how well they know each other but also they're like.. a constant in each other's life and i do enjoy their interactions a lot even if i never vocalize it...

wow yosuke, who would've thought that you two are partners, this guy literally introduced himself as your wife /s (i kinda regret naming souji yosuke wifey but im glad i wrote the y in lowercase bc otherwise i wouldn't be able to tell their dialogue apart 💀

ok unfortunately i can't say that im going to go AS INSANE as i did last time when i was spitballing in the tags for the second pq posting just because i feel like i aired out most of my "AAAA WHO IS ZEN AND REI??" there but.

i do have to say that i'm very glad i'm at the point where p3 and p4's casts are able to interact! i can't tell if it's because the writing feels like it shines a little bit better here rather than the solo casts (sometimes i roll my eyes at how junpei and akihiko are with some of the traits the writers play up), or if it's because i'm a guy who's very endeared by crossovers and interactions from characters who didn't exist in the original source material.

i had a lot of times where i was writing things down in my notes software during the crossover segments and im just?? really endeared and creatively inspired by it, to be honest. i really like this aspect of pq.

i think something that catches my interest with zen and rei at the moment is the difference in how they're.. regaining their memories. like... it's interesting to me that zen is able to get some of his memories back from the stuffed rabbit marked with "niko," but rei doesn't. i don't really know how much i can speculate off of this atm (i feel like this is something i'd get more info on when i progress through the second labyrinth, or it's something i'm missing out on because i can't use intertextuality to piece things together. i dont know shit about alice in wonderland.)

like it does make me think that maybe these two are like.. separate entities in that respect (rather than a shared one? but i could be wrong, and i welcome that!). but also there's something that makes my brain go "AAA" about how adamant zen is about wanting to protect rei despite not having any memories, because my brains like "WELL WHAT IF ZEN'S TRUE IDENTITIES AND MEMORIES ARE ACTUALLY THE OPPOSITE, AND DON'T WANT GOOD THINGS FOR REI." poorly phrased but like, it's about the irony, y'know.

i have no fucking clue what rei is supposed to be if we're going under the notion that they're two different things that have lost their memory (she is so head empty only food and its precious tbh). but like my brain just thinks that zen is just... going to end up being some awful incarnation or something like idk. there's something about persona characters with amnesia that make me raise my eyebrow... like just look at ryoji and marie and teddie...

and i guess as another thought on the matter, the way zen and rei work mechanically speaking does make me ponder a bit because like.. obviously, yeah, they can't equip a subpersona because they're... GESTURES. not persona users but FUCK, the way zen and rei have very distinct skillsets just make me wonder if those can allude to what they symbolize. like zen's skills are much more.. destructive and im just like (AIGIS VOICE) "YOU ARE DANGEROUS."

anyways. i am very much invested in the identities of zen and rei but i am also glad that the crossover stuff is here too because i think the sillies will keep me inspired... and also im just happy to see yosuke... i really like yosuke even if i forget that i do a lot of the time..

last thought, after seeing souji talk and move, i think i'd definitely want to look into p4 side... because um. 🥴 i'm really simple guy. i need more minato in my life. (everyone rolls their eyes. i'm predictable!) i want to see minato move and talk. i want to think about him. he's my boyfriend. he's my wife. he's my universe. im being so cringe about him but I DONT THINK THIS IS A SURPRISE TO ANYONE... i like him a lot (NO SHIT, LIZZ). but!!! idk if this'll be something that i watch or play, it depends on what the NG+ functionality in this game is like...

i think about asian link all the time. theyre asian to me like... "oh its not realistic theyre pale and blue eyed and blond" do u wanna know whats unrealistic. in the legend of zelda series thats fantasy/adventure. the way no ones just moved out of hyrule already just make a bridge and leave!!!! place keeps getting overrun!!! leave!!!!!!!!
