i did not put much effort into visual changes bc that'd be a waste of my own creativity, but i did a lil sumn at least. i spent less than 30 minutes total brainstorming a new baseline concept for whatever his deal is supposed to be and drawing this.

ah yes I've been reminded about how much I dislike wash's arc with locus on chorus because it makes no fucking sense!
like that scene in s12 where wash has that dream about shooting donut? while perhaps understandable when looked at in a vacuum, it makes absolutely no sense in the context of wash's arc from s6-s10.
wash repaid his debt to donut by protecting him from one of the tex bots in the 100 tex battle (which is what that seemingly random line in that fight where wash says "okay, we're done here" is referencing), and wash mentally justifying shooting donut in the dream with a "I was just following orders" also makes no sense because that's not what happened!
pretty much everything wash did from mid s7 through s8 were all things that he chose to do. wash chose to go to the chairman and make a deal after he found out that caboose still had epsilon, wash chose to shoot donut and lopez (because he didn't know them and had no attachment to them), wash chose to take doc prisoner, etc etc.
yet despite all of those awful choices he made, the reds and blues still refused to let him die. they chose to save wash when they had every reason to not save him, and they did it because that's what friends do—they protect their own.
this is why wash pulling his gun on lina in s10, and the words that followed him doing so were so important. wash knew what she was feeling, he understood her on an intimate level because lina was mentally in the same place that he himself had been in not too long ago—but he was not going to stand by and watch her hurt his friends, and he was not going to let her force the reds and blues into a battle that wasn't theirs (like he himself had done in s6 on his quest to defeat the meta).
tldr; wash's arc on chorus with locus doesn't make sense because the whole point of his arc (and kind of lina's arc too) prior to chorus was unironically about rediscovering the power of friendship thanks to a group of dumb guys in colorful armor.

he has cooler hair and a proper jawline now!!! i also gave him eyelashes based off some old concept art of him from 'The Art of Halfbrick' and also because they make him look more babygirl :)
his eyelashes were pretty and i wish he kept em so i incorporated them into the new way i draw Barry :)

If your Luke Skywalker isn't bisexual, he's out of character. He was, canonically, in love with Leia for two movies, maybe three. You can say he got over her, sure, but he was canonically in love with a woman. Like, hard. Like. Star Wars might not have happened if he hadn't fallen in love with her hologram the first/second time he saw her. He can "swear off women" after discovering the girl he was crazy about ended up being his sister, sure, but you can't erase that he was crazy about her.

While I'm 6am textposting, I wish to talk a bit about The Warp Effect and consent, and some compelling subtextual storytelling I think we're getting that I haven't seen discussed yet. TW: rape!
It feels really significant to me that the first episode of a story which is so conscientious about its portrayal of sex and consent
1. Opened with a casual, never-commented-on rape*
2. Closed with a time warp event precipitated by yes, a magic camera, but narratively by Alex having gotten pushed AWAY from the fully consensual sex he was about to have, into drunken shenanigans he visibly has little conscious control over and a morning after where he's informed (in a humiliating, kind of sexually-tinged-hazing way) of sex he has no memory of.
*In case I'm not being clear, I mean Meow hopping onto Alex's dick after he told her he wanted to stop. Not some "sex work is rape" shit or something.
Like!!! Yes there is a story about religious trauma and purity culture being told here, but to me it also feels like whatever his mother intended with the purity ring, Alex's path to breaking his sex curse may require realizing he has to 'wait' to actually want and choose to have sex, instead of being thrust (violently, casually, drunkenly, time warpedly, or any other way) into it.
Which would be suuuuch a cool subversion of the sex comedy genre as a whole. Right now he's having pussy and dick literally thrown at him, and the tone is very jokey (ha ha you're a renowned vagina doctor now! have fun!), but he is still v much having to negotiate consent for himself and his partners!
We see it explicitly with Kat - he doesn't want to let her fuck him thinking he's this other version of himself she has a pre-existing relationship with - but I'm wondering if he'll realize it also applies to his relationship with Army, where even if the other Alex consented to Army smooching him whenever he wants, he's allowed to want the guy he still sees as his high school bully to quit being so handsy.
Anywayyyy I sometimes get nervous I'm reading too much into everything, but if the story is at all aware that Alex has learned to prioritize consent for his partners but so far, not so much for himself, there's a lot of rich narrative there to explore.
