in which you are the feared god of war, infamous for being merciless and bloodthirsty over your reign on the battlefields. cold, calculative, stoic, and most definitely someone not to make an enemy of. gods tremble in fear when they hear your name, nations despaired upon catching sight of your soldiers.... you get the gist.

and yet, for some reason, the god of contracts seems to intend to get on your good side? though his methods are quite... unconventional. he sends you things like... wines that smell far too sweet and floral-y compared to your usual offerings. pressed dried flowers hidden between old books. normal looking - but certainly pretty - rocks....?

Suki, I’ve recently discovered your blog and read through some of your fics. I really love a lot of them, and I’m waiting eagerly for updates to the ongoing ones.

The most recent fic of yours I’ve read is “don’t shoot me” and now I’m debating whether or not to read the entirety of that universe (SLC/HDD). But I’m slightly concerned about the tags (bc I get emotional and sensitive ugh). I need to know. How bad are they? Like, how much angst should I expect, how long is the burn before the angst is resolved, etc.? Are there any possible/prominent trigger warnings (other than the ones in the masterlists)? Even if you could tell me a small summary of them, that would be really appreciated and would help me figure out if I should read it or not. I’m sure your writing is amazing, and I know from DSM that they have happy endings, but I also get rly hung up on fiction sometimes… could you help me out?

mmm yeah, as for that universe, i can def agree that DSM is the most lighthearted one. i already forgot the warnings in the masterlist so ig i'll just try to add a summary/explanation that's spoiler-free???

SLC: def the core theme here would be the bullying, so keep that in mind. during it's time, it was prob the hardest fic that i had to write (now OATGE is in the lead lolz). there's a lot of ups and downs—betrayal, hurt, and whatnot. but there are a ton of light moments sprinkled in. in terms of getting hung up, i think SLC would be in the middle. it isn't as lighthearted as DSM but not as angsty as HDD either. i think what puts this in the middle of the "triggering" list is because of how bizarre the situations are. i've had a reader before who is triggered by themes of bullying and whatnot so i did my best to over exaggerate those themes to the point that it becomes unrealistic. thus, it's enjoyable for what it is: fiction.

HDD: i think this is on top of the "triggering" list amongst the three because in a sense, it deals with more mental damage. lots of the topics discussed are often scummy and it's more of a social war in comparison to SLC (which has some physicalness aspect to it, not necessarily violence but idk how to explain it). it also has more sexual themes compared to DSM and SLC, both good or bad.

overall, i'd like to think that the payoff is worth it, if the feedback is anything to go by. SLC is more of a slowburn compared to HDD tho, just basing off the chapter count. SLC also has a bigger universe (more characters and whatnot) hence why i was able to expand on its story.

anyhow, it's still up to you if you want to read it, we're responsible for our media consumption afterall, thus the warnings are placed. if anything, i have other fics that are very lighthearted! (jeongin smau is my fave LMFAO).

i'm also over my "edgy/experimental" phase so most of my future fics will definitely be more on the lighthearted side. consider it my retirement phase or smth.

Upon reflection, this isn't impossible if I keep to basics

-my lack of firm THG knowledge aside+knowing this can all be edited:

-Capitol born, definitely contemporary with the great families, but not as flashy.

-No siblings, late heir of his parents. Mix of country sensibilities but with natural abilities to blend in with the snakes.

-Brilliant in the University, Powerhouse of all the physical activities.

-Does ache for comradeship bc of no siblings and reasons like that, therefore has the mixed fortune of entering Crassus's crowd. Lore iffy to think since that's a free for all headcanon situation, i.e. was Crassus wife involved, what was his status, etc.

-Anyway, Henry def had eyes for Crassus, wife or not, which mostly influences him to enlist with him in the peacekeepers

-Henry is just as brilliant as Crassus in War, particularly in Sea warfare, so they're always together

-Does Henry have a proper conscience about the whole War? I think his upbringing has him thinking he's on the right side, but ultimately he's devoted to the cruel people he's bonded with, Crassus especially.

-facecast still up in air for Crassus, but Rutger has me for now; schoolmates to peacekeeper era content:

-Bodies and close spaces like that, u know they hooked up

-I think it was an unspoken dynamic, Crassus more in control, Henry happy to follow his lead.

-May have to something something the age to dates bc Henry's supposed to be relatively old, but I'll get back to that lol

-Def there when Crassus is shot, absolutely devastated, and THEE reason for him to do something like fake his death, escape Capitol life with his finances, and become part of the foundation in multiple black markets. Busy work like that keeps him in both hardworking yet decadent areas, shaping him up to the powerful yet pleasure seeking bear he is now.

-Pleasure seeking=the best food+the best alcohol (which equals bear bod/belly 🥵) +the best pretty things he can play with.

-Meeting C I have YOU to thank for ❤️ The implicated Tigris street walking for C to discover and happens to meet Henry rejecting her only to be interested in Cor is MWUAH ❤️

-I don't see Henry seeing Cor as Crassus, of course he KNOWS and of course there's SOME connection, but Crassus was more of a quiet devotion, as opposed to Cor who is fascinating and very much his own person Henry can't help but play with fascination and greediness, and regardless of which facecast I end up with, he finds him much more beautiful than his father or any of the other pretty things he's ever played with.

-Gist of all that for now, I'll see if I like any of this later 🧐

the secret santas ive partaken in have always been within discord servers i was already in, but i believe certain tumblr blogs can run them too so it's a good idea to keep an eye out for any that might pop up closer to the time!

the main gist of it is that the organiser of the gift exchange collects in the info of all the participants -- e.g. whether the gift they give will be drawn/written/something else, what they'd like as a gift, what they wouldn't like as a gift, what they are comfortable creating, their social media, etc -- then matches everyone up to someone they have to make a gift for. if anyone drops out or anything, pinch hitters can get a gift done for the other person.

im not 100% sure about all the ins and outs since ive never organised one but, depending on how big of a group youre opening the gift exchange up to, it can either be super straightforward or kinda complicated HAJDSHSJ
