Randy I'd say is still his upbeat self, just a little more... Crazy... And even though he didn't have friends growing up, instead of it making him socially awkward and unable to talk to people, I think it just made him REALLY bad at telling his own and others emotions (think entrapta from She-Ra).

I'd also like to list his interactions with others and what he thinks of them/what they think of him. (Little bit of a long list)

Viceroy - Randy sees Viceroy as a father figure of sorts. Viceroy was the one to pick him up when he was at his lowest, and for that he feels indebted to him (much to Viceroy's displeasure. Because to Viceroy, Randy also feels like his son, and he doesn't want him feeling like he's OBLIGATED to stay with him and work for McFist).

They have a good and strong relationship, and their idea of bonding is building robots to destroy the Ninja while laughing manically + bitching about McFist.

McFist - I already talked about their relationship, but they don't get along swimmingly, especially at first. They ATTEMPT to have a professional relationship, and they manage half the time.

Marci - Marci and Randy get along really well (which pisses McFist off) when they're together, which isn't much actually. Randy mainly visited the McFists when he was young (about 12) and Viceroy dragged him along. Now they really only see eachother sparingly during work hours (they love to chit-chat and catch up though).

Bash - They don't really know much about each other, but they know OF each other. The most they've ever really spoken was when McFist got tired of having to babysit Bash and just left him with Randy for a "playdate". (McFist deeply regretted this later, as Randy had managed to convince Bash to slip Turmeric into all his fancy soaps)

Howard - Howard and Randy are still VERY good friends in my AU. They first met eachother at "Greg's Game Hole" (or more accurately the "Food Hole") where they manage to strike up a conversation. Howard actually manages to find out Randy's homeschooled because of his attitude and weird questions.

After this revelation, Howard starts telling Randy EXTREMELY exaggerated things about what school like. They quickly exchanged numbers and become close friends. (And Viceroy is ECSTATIC that he's made a friend)

Julian - Randy got introduced to Julian through Howard. They both bond quickly because they both aren't really considered "normal" by most peoples standards. They were also both (in a sense) raised by the Internet, and know dumb, niche references Howard does not (he's not too happy to be left out of the joke).

(And because I'm a sucker for juliandy) I think Julian would develop a crush on Randy after some time, but because of Randy's stupid, lizard brain, Julian could literally be like "You're like the sun, your smile is so warm it could warm up even the coldest of hearts, and for that, I love you" and then Randy would say some shit like "Aww, you're my best friend too, Julian!" (He's trying, but his skull is EMPTY)

Julian was also VERY surprised to not only learn that his crushes dad was the one who kept trying to destroy him, but his crush TOO was trying to destroy him. (He gets along with Viceroy for Randy's sake)

Ninja - I feel like he wouldn't really have a hatred towards the ninja, more like "strange fixation" as he describes it (his ass does NOT know how a celebrity crush works).

And his love language is sending out killer robots <3

I find myself VERY RESISTANT to this kind of shit so when the universe makes me feel like I want to hate a character I kind of go the opposite direction and love them harder than any of their fans.

For example I see so many infuriating takes with Catra and Hordak but I REFUSE to hate them. I insist on loving them more for all of their flaws, to be the one who loves them most for their character. I fucking adore those characters.

Maybe my opinion would be different if I was saturated by fandom like all the realtime watchers were? Like I'd be worn down.

I'm trying to think of other characters this DOES apply to.

For a show I'm genuinely obsessed with - The closest might be Lemongrab in AT fandom, he was super woobiefied by some people and some of those people were not particularly good to me or to the AT crew (talking events that happened over 10 years ago). I will be real it's nothing on the scale of what happened in shera fandom, and I still love Lemongrab as a character, but I avoid making anything with him in it because I don't want his fans to speak to me. Hoping the situation is different now.

There's also Simon Laurent from Infinity Train. I never particularly LIKED Simon, I find him interesting, but FUCKING HELL. TAKE ALL OF THE ABOVE CHARACTERS AND MULTIPLY IT BY 100. I was still getting messages from the "Simon Anon" A FEW WEEKS AGO SAYING THAT I NEED TO BOYCOTT INFINITY TRAIN because the creators said some stupid ableist about Simon, which they did, BUT IT'S NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY LEAVE ME ALONE. Anyone who is a Simon stan is usually completely terrifying, and is occasionally racist or sexist depending on their stance on Grace while defending their precious white boy. Once I entered a server and someone IMMEDIATELY asked me what my thoughts on Simon were, they were completely ready to start a fight with me over it and I've never felt more terrified in my life.

I also got sick and tired of Hunter quickly for pretty much the same reasons as Simon, though he's not written to be an evil incel like Simon, he REALLY IS the woobie boy that everyone considers him to be adn that's why I don't like him. I appreciate his character arc but ehhhhhh I couldn't stand him until the end of season 2 and during season 3 where it finally got past the "im going to be MURDERED by BELOS if i dont do EVERYTHING IMMEDIATELY" phase. The reason Catra never falls into this category for me is because she had supervillain energy and tried so so hard to regain agency and she kicked Hordak's ass and opened the Portal. Hunter meanwhile takes every hit, and I just... it is painful to watch, especially having been in situations of fear and psychological abuse. I don't enjoy it and I don't enjoy the fandom's TERRIFYING OBSESSION with him.

Zuko is almost a character I don't like. There is no anti-fandom for Zuko so I have no reason to stubbornly love him. People always compare every redemption arc to Zuko and I am fucking sick of it.

If it's a group it's ALWAYS Best Friend Squad 4 man, which makes sense I guess since theyre The Main Group but like... Q_Q i just want to include Entrapta and Scorpia and make it a BFS/SPT combo. Is that self indulgent of me? Especially when it's S5 fanart, I want more Entrapta because she was basically with them the entire time! Aaaaaaaaaa!!!!! I have a lot of thoughts on "4 man BFS" as an entity and why it works as an answer to s1, and why it doesn't work so well in s5, and why I am sad there was no s5 closure to sPT even if that is a dead sPT i just wanted one more scene--

wait that's not really what this question is about, we are crossing into canon wishlist but also fanfic modern AU territory and ALLLLL of my annoyances with how Adora and Catra's friend groups are treated in those. Like how Bow, Glimmer, Scorpia, and Entrapta are supposed to be their BEST FRIENDS but all become irrelevant and straight up absent once Catradora are together. Uhhh...

Okay more about Entrapta, a pet peeve is when people give her Normal Hair. Like, not absolutely insanely long rapunzel hair. Just normal hair. IT'S NOT RIGHT--- i guess people find it hard to draw her hair if they're going for a more realistic style?

I actually like most She-ra art I see though. It's very rare I see something that annoys me. There's not enough fanart posted in this fandom recently for me to have seen something that grinds my gears. All the catradora art is fucking gorgeous. I don't look at nsfw so I have absolutely no thoughts about any weird tropes like I would for other fandoms like AT where the fandom was a lot straighter and drew more demeaning stuff including the girls.

I can hear Kan yelling at me to post Entrapdak under this heading. Fuck you, Entrapdak is great!

I don't have any really wild out there crackships, I don't have any "problematic pairings", but I usually get self conscious and cautious when I post Catrapta, or any Entrapta x a member of BFS stuff, LMAO. Even the normal fluffy stuff but especially the sex headcanon post yesterday with Catrapta. The issue is a lot of the time people are like "she's way older than the others???" and either I have to say "actually, that was a post by a character designer with no evidence in the show--" and I look like an idiot trying to justify something wrong, or I just say "theyre both somewhere in their 20s" and get it over with.

But I ship all of the princesses with each other, I especially think Entrapta x Everyone is fucking hilarious, just go off girl. I'm not ashamed of that per se, it's just some people in this fandom have a stick up their ass with anything that isn't a Certified Canon Pairing.

Now if you want something I do enjoy and am mildly disturbed by that, it's Seadak. Sea Hawk x Hordak. And also x Micah. Just pair the dads together. They have never interacted but isn't it fucking brilliant????

ok so a while a I saw this thing where someone said they for the most part see entrapta initiating affection and never vice versa and honestly, they’re not wrong! sadly-  and that got me thinking cause personally I can see at first that hordak is all stiff like he overthinks it and second guesses it and is just stiff when he does try affection he messes it up in a silly way and he’s just like “my apologies-“ and turns to leave but entrapta reassures him and it’s just silly and adorable! BUT I think after a while he gets around to it SO THEM AFTER A SEC HE'S A MASTER AT AFFECTION AND IS QUITE SNUGGLY ACTUALLY AND LOVES CUDDLES FROM HIS WIFE ACTUALLY, THANK YOU. 

AS ENTRAPTA LEARNS MORE AND MORE FIRST ONES WRITING SHE TEACHES HORDAK FIRST ONES WRITING AND THEY WROTE EACH OTHER SMALL LOVE LETTERS IN FIRST ONES WRITING AND IM ON THE FUCKING GROUND THINKING ABOUT IT SIR (i do NOT remember writing that last part and honestly i am so funny)

as we know entrapta hair can frizz when she's mad or really excited so i just had this thought that when she is really happy it curls up all softly, additionally

hordak cupping her cheek in her hand while both of her hands touch his arm and she just leans into his touch looking at him with such fondness and adoration and he just smiles while leaning down to her

based on one of the she ra designers who had the idea that characters that are spouses swap or give their partner an item that represents them in a way (i.e. spinerella and netossa’s matching chokers w/each other’s color palettes) and in their thought process they mention that it applies to them as well (entrapta and hordak) but they weren’t sure what hordak would give entrapta SO I WOULD THINK WHEN HE HEARS ABOUT THAT HE MAKES HER A NEW MASK (because i personally feel like my girl doesn't like having a constant memory of beast island) WITH FIRST ONES TECH MATERIAL that make it super durable than ever with her red-ish tones for the lenses so they can match! :)

they totally steal darla at times to go on some quick space joy rides to go see the stars and they’re so giggly and happy when they do it and are definitely caught multiple times in the process cause they’re very obvious together but everyone pays them no mind after the third time they do it 

whenever they do step out of the castle for a date night out, which i think their first date would be stargazing, because I'd think even if they are a lil sad they weren't with each other when the stars came back so they are making up for lost time !

entrapta’s hair reflects her mood at times or, even if she doesn’t want it to, because that can be so much fun if she’s trying to be discreet about her feelings and her hair is meanwhile reflecting something very different, that’s fun! like when next to hordak it just by habit likes to wrapped around

im trying not to be biased bc like i waited 7 months without a response from gbagok & i only DMed him once & i was v patient despite what my friends frequently describe as “stalker” instincts (i maintain that it’s not my fault so many people have such publicly available addresses & it’s not like i’m going there or using streetview or something, it just shows up! blame google!) Adora deserves better allegations on racism and abliesm

A user i follow called @adora-deserves-better had allegations of being racist and abliest and from what i heard of why thats the case, I feel like the allegations are blown way out of proportion. Lets just debunk this:

So lets start with the racist allegations. From what i heard, they criticize catra being a latina and since they're apparently not latina, they cant speak on it. Automatically, my issue with this is the gatekeeping, just because you may not be a certain enthic doesnt mean you lack knowledge of the issues/bad rep they face and theres valid reasons to how catra being latina doesnt work because of the worldbuilding in etheria now having a mix of fictional and real countries or that shes the only character to have butt shots/have a cleavage (other than entrapta though) which i can see it contributing to the sexualising of latina characters. This is all coming from a latina btw

Im not even saying it does contribute to latina sexualisation. Dont get me wrong, im just saying i CAN see it contribute to the issue, theres a difference. And even if you cant speak on ethic issues your not a part of, its more of speaking their opinion of everything/things that arent their business than racism. Up next, the abliest allegations.

Catra is often headcanoned and even think her having bpd is canon/coded. Now i dont have bpd and im not sure of the rep it would have if catra was bpd however heres the thing: She isnt. Nd didnt confirm catra to have bpd yet people think she does and then adora-deserves-better got called an abliest for the takes of catra. While I dont know what takes they said to ensure whether or not she was abliest, i can ensure that catra doesnt have bpd and just because you may think shes bpd coded doesnt mean she actually have bpd that gives you a pass to call someone abliest especially when its subjective, what you may code is what others may not get. Hell, i have a mutual who has bpd and they dont get people headcanons of catra with bpd. If its for different reasons and with proof like the racism allegations, please tag me in that post with proof. If thats all the allegations then it doesnt prove that they're being racist/abliest.

◆you go outside and ask your bf if hes ok with all of this,and he tild you that although its kinda disappointing,it doesnt matter who you are related to,he loves you for you :)

To address White Out.

Catra first gets the idea to use the corrupted chip when Entrapta says it messes with She Ras powers. She does not inform Catra that it makes her loopy or drives her berserk. We know from experience that most times a fight with She Ra and catra is unevenly matched. In favor of She Ra. We know because She Ra is stronger than Adora and Adora and Catra are clearly evenly matched with just Adora. And the fact thay Catra literally can't beat She Ra without doing something level the playing feild like separating her from her sword etc,

So before catra uses the chip on Adora she likely thinks its just gonna nerf She Ra or like, prevent Adora from becoming She Ra/detransform her.

Then Adora does rampage and Catra makes some comments that some people find, concerning to put it nicely.

Making comments about making her kill her friends

Making comments about "looks like you're mine now"

Making comments about having "control" of Adora.

And im not gonna lie and say Catra has no desire to have a say in what Adora does, especially when her own survival has depended on her for so long. She does so yes she does want some control over Adora.

HOWEVER

Catra is straight up bluffing with these comments. She just is. Worst shes gonna do is imprison Adora and try to convince her to work for the Horde again. She'll make mean comments too maybe.

How do I know?

Well what does catra do whenever she DOES get ahold of Adora

1: Restrain after a long fight, no further action

2: Let her go because Shadow Weaver was going to torture her/erase her memory

3: Left her in a castle she literally watched the ai controller of say she wanted to talk to/help adora. Canonically even says she knew Adora would most likely survive.

4: Has Scorpia, literally the nicest person in the Horde watch over/guard her

5: restrain and talk to her

6: Restrain and talk to her 2, activate portal.

This one im not counting but gonna talk about it in case someone brings it up. During the Portal reality everyone has lost their memories, everyone except maybe Razz who has her own time fuckery going on. Catras actions are because she believes this is how things are and how they are supposed to be. She cannot see what Adora sees so from her perspective Adora has suddenly developed a major case of psychosis and she responds the only ways she knows how. The moment Catra regains all of her memories she turns on Adora and begins to fight her. That is not Catra controlling a trapped adora but instead a worried Catra panicking about her best friend suddenly losing it.

7: Is corrupted by the portal magic, has knowledge she shouldn't, is probably overwhelmed and corrupted by this knowledge that has infected her mind through the portal, Fights adora and says mean things but Adora is still free handed and able to fight back, gets knocked out with one punch.

8: this time she uses electricity to combat She Ra, but thats it just an electricity minefield that she stays far away from

Even before all that at one point Adora says "I told you I'm not coming back" to which Catra says "I don't think Shadow Weaver plans on giving you a choice" key word here is Shadow Weaver.

Thats it, that's All the times that Catra has any opportunity to "control" adora or "make her hurt her friends" or lay claim to Adora. Not once does she actually use it.

Now that we've established that out of the many times Catra has had an opportunity to "control" Adora she never once takes it lets talk about another pattern of behaviour.

Catra bluffs

All the time

Especially when something goes wrong or when she feels her control on a situation slipping. Hell she even bluffs to avoid being vulnerable.

She bluffs about not wanting recognition in the Horde, she bluffs about being bad cop to Entrapta, she bluffs about torturing Entrapta/ordering her killed to Bow and Glimmer, She bluffs about Entrapta betraying the Horde, She bluffs to protect Scorpia, she bluffs to Prime about knowing how to activate the Heart of Etheria. Catra is known for bluffing about anything and everything to make herself seem in control or to save herself from danger.

So yeah I dont believe for a second that she would have forced adora to do anything, except maybe listen to her rants whenever she visits her cell.

i've been re-watching season 4 and thinking about glimmer and her motivations and why she did what she did so because she's one of my favorite characters in any media ever im gonna rant. don't read this as me excusing her actions by the way, but rather talking about her motivations and why she did what she did

throughout the entirety of season 4, glimmer is looking for some form of control. she hasn't been able to have any impact, adora and bow weren't listening to her, they didn't let her make her own decisions because they disobeyed her orders pretty often, etc. and whenever she tried to do something, go out and fight like she wants to, adora and bow were upset with her. she felt powerless and out of control. didn't help that double trouble was poking holes in their relationship as well.

but then shadow weaver came in and offered her power and control. she turned it down at first but after bow gets hurt by the pulse bot she takes her offer. thats a key distinction by the way, because all of her decisions had to do with her love for her friends and her people. anyways, she finally gets some genuine impact with her decisions in destroying the big pulse bot and beating catra, and so she keeps letting shadow weaver teach her magic. but she didn't completely trust her, not at first. at first, in her mind, she was just gaining information and knowledge from SW. she even says she didn't trust her at first as well ("do you think im naive enough to trust shadow weaver?"), but shadow weaver is a master manipulator. sure she knew she was bad but shadow weaver was an expert at manipulating people to her will and wants. glimmer felt like she had control over the situation when in reality she didn't.

should glimmer have let shadow weaver manipulate her? no, of course not. but she felt like she needed some kind of power to regain control in some way. shadow weaver was the only one who would listen, who would offer her some way to help, who would give her some way she could help. she was desperate to stop them at the time so she was more willing to go to underhanded tactics like using adora as bait to get to catra and stop her while she's undefended. again, not defending her actions but still.

then there was mer-mysteries, where a lot of her issues in season 4 took hold. she lost any control she had again because of the spy ruining any potential plans, as well as knowing that *something* was up and that the horde was planning something but not knowing what and not being able to do anything about it. so when she finds out that salineas was lost without anything she could do, she gets more desperate, being more willing to use worse tactics, ("whatever it takes...") and even to use the heart of etheria. but it should be noted she didn't know everything. she didn't see what bow and adora saw. she wasn't on the ship when that all happened. had she been, she probably wouldn't have done what she did. we as the audience get the grace of the big picture, but glimmer didn't. also note that she didn't intend to use all of it. she intended to channel a small part to supercharge their magic and beat the horde.

also in fractures i want to bring up that again, nobody talked to glimmer when they wanted to go to beast island to save entrapta. glimmer wanted to talk about it. she wanted to come up with an actual plan for when they go to save entrapta. she wanted them to stop barrelling ahead without a plan. and she *did* want to save entrapta, but the horde was winning, they had so much more territory now, they had salineas, they had a lot, and she had no idea if entrapta would actually help them or go to the horde or anything like that. because they didn't know the full extent of what happened. glimmer is right, from her perspective. entrapta kinda did betray them, she helped the horde, a lot of her tech is why the horde is so powerful. if bow and adora explained more of what happened, showed her the hologram and what mara said, and things like that, maybe she would agree with them, but they didn't. again, glimmer *was* in the wrong for a lot of this, but she didn't have all the information and she felt like she wasn't trusted by bow and adora, and she felt betrayed when they left to get entrapta. ("if they don't trust me, i don't trust them").

her talk with scorpia really shows some of her insecurities and doubts, especially this quote. "my best friends left me. even before this, i was the weak princess, the one who had to recharge, who didn't fit."

in destiny we see her fully willing to use underhanded tactics to win, with lying to shadow weaver about the plan and having double trouble manipulate catra.

and then we get to destiny part 2, and her realizing winning like this, wasn't what she wanted. the moment with catra really solidified this, where she realizes she's alone just like catra. ("looks like we're both alone, sparkles.") (i thought you wanted to win. use your weapon." "i cant, it would destroy everything.) when light hope activates the heart, she realizes she was wrong. she realizes she failed. both in her mission to stop the horde, and she failed her friends by pushing them away for nothing. she fucked up, but she tries to fix it. she tries to stop it by attacking the black garnet, even if she knew it wouldn't work.

overall, i loved her character arc throughout season 4. she was a queen before she was ready, she felt like she lost agency and control, she felt like nobody was taking her role as queen seriously, she felt weak. and even when she was winning, she wasn't. she was being manipulated almost every step of the way. manipulated by shadow weaver. manipulated by double trouble. manipulated by light hope. she pushed away her friends hoping to end it, to stop the horde, she was hoping the end would justify the means, but they didn't. she was wrong, she realized she was used by everyone. but that didn't stop her from attempting to stop the heart. it didn't stop her from trying to fix her mistakes. and i love that. everything she did, she did for her people, even if it didn't seem like that to others. no matter what happened to her, she kept fighting, kept trying to do what was best for etheria, even if she was wrong. god i love this character so much.

this was a lot longer than i thought it would be and took me a lot longer to write than i thought it would, but she's just such an interesting and complex character that i wanted to try and do her as much justice as i could. i know i missed some things like her search for approval as well, since the people who manipulated her that she went along with offered her some kind of approval. shadow weaver and light hope both praised her, called her strong. and that desperate need for approval just let them manipulate her so much easier. ok this is actually it for now but glimmer is so good and i love her.

She-Ra High School Theatre Kid AU Headcanons

I made this because I am a theatre kid, and me and my sister were talking about Double Trouble being a theatre kid, so this happened. We basically came up with this entire au while we walked our dog.

Also I know none of this stuff would ever happen in real life, but it’s fanfiction, let me have this

Horde Prime is the principal who is very not supportive of the arts

Hordak is the head of tech

Castaspella runs costumes

Huntara is the choreographer

Actors:

Catra - Has been in love with theatre since she was a kid, wants to be an actress when she grows up. She’s only ever cast as the villain/antagonist because she’s so good at playing those roles, but she’s not complaining. Shadow Weaver hates her and constantly talks down to her whenever Angella’s not around. Really good singer.

Double Trouble - Also in love with theatre. Brings the drama. Really good at whatever role they receive. Always competes with Sea Hawk for the lead role regardless of gender.

Sea Hawk - Theatre kid is his entire personality and he lives for it. Competes with Double Trouble for the lead role regardless of gender. Loves roles that get to do fight choreography. Has a habit of setting at least one prop, set, or costume on fire every show. No one knows how, and honestly, neither does he.

Glimmer - Director kid vibes, we’ve all met one. You know what I’m talking about. Usually gets a big speaking role, but not the lead. Jealous of Catra bc Glimmer thinks the villains get better songs. Catra agrees and holds it over her head constantly. Has a habit of being an “actor director” sometimes, but never in a mean or condescending way, and most of the time Angella was going to give the same note. Most of the time.

Bow - Actor/Techie. Auditions for a role, but if he doesn’t get one, he’ll do tech. He doesn’t have a preference, he just likes being a part of the process and being with his friends. One of the only basses in the department.

Mermista - Actor/stage manager. Even when she has a role in the current show, Mermista is still the stage manager bc she’s the only one who can deal with and control everyone’s shit(aka Sea Hawk level shenanigans). Actually a really good actor when she puts effort into her roles, but it has to be for a show she actually likes.

Kyle - Usually ensemble, but sometimes he has small speaking roles. Famous for breaking or losing props.

Techies:

Entrapta - Sound/lights. Works with Hordak, they’re close friends. He’s dreading her graduation bc she’s the only who actually understands how to run the systems. She insists she’ll be back tho.

Scorpia - Build crew. Stronk. Nuff said. Started bc she wanted to support Catra, and kept doing it bc she thought the head costumer was cute.

Adora - Also build crew. Again, stronk. Paints occasionally because that was her first choice, but they lack muscle strength in build. Can only get away with painting if Lonnie is there that day. Joined to watch Catra and Catra only. Has only listed to the songs that Catra sings in her role. Has never listened to a full Broadway album. Glimmer is disappointed.

Lonnie - Build crew. Not that interested but comes to support her friends when she doesn’t have lacrosse practice. Never runs a show, but watches every night.

Rogelio - Paint crew. Adora lost an arm wrestling contest to him, and he got first choice. She’s forever salty for it but too nice to argue.

Perfuma - Head of costumes. Castaspella and her get along great, they practically have the same personality. Crushing on Scorpia.

Frosta - Costumes. Cousins with Mermista. Comes bc she heard about the chaos and drama that goes down. Will run shows if she doesn’t have hockey practice.

Swift Wind - Fly.

Now for the plot:

The show for the year: Wicked

Elphaba - Catra

Fiyero - Sea Hawk

Nessa - Glimmer

Madame Morrible - Mermista

The Wizard - Bow

But then two tragedies occurred

Tragedy 1: Angella had to step down as director bc Micah was in the hospital or something idk

Tragedy 2: 2 days later, Sea Hawk breaks his leg pretty bad and he won’t be better in time for the show

Le gasp

So Shadow Weaver takes over as director

Some Shadow Weaver background info: She was a famous actress many years ago and thinks this high school production stuff is below her. She still has a lot of connections to the professional world that she uses from time to time. She wants Adora to follow in her footsteps as a famous actor despite Adora being an incredibly bad actor. She hates that Adora does crew and not acting, but couldn’t do anything about it. Until now.

Now that she’s director and they’re down a Fiyero, she basically forces Adora to play Fiyero, despite the other capable actors who could’ve done it and Adora’s own protests. Think something like: “why can’t bow do it? I’ll be the wizard if there really aren’t enough actors!” “Oh no, bow is the only one who can hit the wizards notes bla bla bla”

Adora doesn’t want to do it, but she also doesn’t want the department to not be able to do the show. Plus she would get to hang out with Catra a lot which would be cool

I’m guessing you can already tell where the conflict is coming from, but we had some very clear ideas of stuff that happened, like

Adora was behind bc she wasn’t going to play the role originally, she’s never acted before, and she can’t dance. So she has a lot of one on one practices with Huntara, the choreographer. Before getting the role, the only practices Adora would watch if she didn’t have crew were the dance practices. She went purely to watch Catra, but Catra thinks that she has a crush on Huntara.

Tension and miscommunication, y’know?

Bow and Glimmer are both very supportive but also nervous bc they know that Adora is extremely bad at acting

Sea Hawk has never seen Adora try to act before, so he doesn’t see what the issue is. Once he’s well enough to go to school again, he comes to every rehearsal even tho he can’t be in the show. And then he sees. And then he’s like, oh no.

But he tries to be supportive and pump Adora up.

Adora is feeling a lot of pressure bc of her new role and doesn’t want to screw things up for everyone.

Catra is a little pissed off that she’s been paired up with someone who can’t act for her senior show, so she’s a little snippy at first, and Adora is tense, and it’s a mess

But Shadow Weaver doesn’t care, and ends up blaming every problem they have during an acting scene with Adora and Catra on Catra, even though she’s the best actor in the department. Because ✨favoritism✨

And you know, they do the whole hot-cold, she hates me, she’s cute, I love her but she doesn’t like me, bla bla bla throughout the course of the show

A week before opening night, Shadow Weaver makes things worse by mentioning that she invited her friend who’s a talent scout to watch the show. Shadow Weaver wants the scout to help get Adora into the acting business.

Catra wants to use this opportunity to get her name out there, so she needs her performance to be perfect

Which is hard to do when her love interest couldn’t act her way out of a paper bag

It’s two days before the show and they still haven’t practiced the kiss scene. Every time they brought it up before, like “should we practice the kiss? I mean, only if you want we don’t have to”, they both got the impression that the other didn’t want to kiss them

(Useless lesbians)

So it’s 2 days before the show, and Shadow Weaver is like, you gotta practice the kiss

So they kiss, and Catra is like, whoa she’s a really good kisser, so she’s quiet after the kiss

And of course, Adora takes that silence as “she hated the kiss and she hates me” as you do

So their practices the next two days are even worse than they were before

Finally, it’s opening night. The scout is coming and they’re out of time. Shadow Weaver ends up shoving Catra and Adora into a closet. She does her whole “you don’t want to let me, your friends, or the audience down do you? Whatever’s distracting you needs to go” to Adora, and then she turns to Catra and is like “fix what you’ve done, I know you sabotaged her you useless child. You’re going to be the reason this show goes horribly” and then she leaves

AND CATRA AND ADORA ACTUALLY TALK I KNOW IM SHOCKED TOO

Adora’s like, sorry I’ve been so weird the past two days, I just realized I really like you after we kissed, but I know you don’t feel that way about me, sorry if that makes it weird

And Catra’s like, Adora you idiot I love you

And they kiss

And Bow finds them still kissing in the closet 20 minutes before the show opens and rushes them to Castaspella to get their make up fixed

It ends up being Adora’s best performance because every time they’re about to go on for a scene together, Catra tells her to forget about the audience and just focus on her

The scout ended up liking Catra and Double Trouble a lot to Shadow Weaver’s disappointment

Facts that aren’t important to the main plot, but definitely happened

One time, before Sea Hawk broke his leg, Catra was trying out her harness for the defying gravity and other flying scenes, and Swift Wind, who does fly, accidentally dropped her and she landed on Adora

No Good Deed was the best moment in the show, and the amount of emotion Catra was able to put into her performance during that song was a little frightening but also made a lot of people tear up

The second best scene in the show was surprisingly As Long as you’re Mine, because Adora was actually able to forget about the audience and just focus on her love for Catra

The show last year was Mean Girls. Catra was Regina. Glimmer was Gretchen(you can’t argue that she doesn’t give off, “I don’t think my father, the inventor of toaster stroodle, would be very pleased to hear about this” vibes). Mermista was surprisingly amazing as Karen, and played her deadpan perfectly. No one knows how she did it. Sea Hawk was Cady, Double Trouble was Janice, and Bow was Damien. They reference their experiences during this show during Wicked, but the only thing Adora remembers about that production is how hot Catra was during World Burn.

Ironically (or unironically, idk), Glimmer once said “I don’t think my mother, the director of the show, will be very pleased to hear about this” to an actor who was found sabotaging Catra’s mic for the show before Mean Girls. Catra thought Shadow Weaver put her up to it but there was no proof.

Scorpia for the 10 opinions thing?

Ohhhhh ok

1) I’ve thought about this for a while and ya know I agree, she wasn’t respecting Catra’s personal space at first. However, that doesn’t mean Catra still wasn’t manipulative and aggressive af to her.

2) She Didn’t really grow tbh. Any chance at growth got knocked over. Like, she stands up to Catra and tries to save Entrapta, only to then barely talk to Entrapta or stand up for her, pretty much dropping her for the “cool” Princesses. And then, only moments after her “big” song she gets chipped, thus stopping any character growth or ability to reconcile with Catra. And then when she does, she just…acts like nothings wrong between them????? Issa mess, she basically regresses.

Not to mention basically no resolution about the Scorpion people. Like I’m still not sure what went down. Hell, I wouldve prefer they admit the scorpion people are gone and Scorpia using that to protect Etheria and make sure Prime/The Horde doesn’t destroy anyone else.

3) Her existence completely confused the timeline, it actually gives me a headache. If the scorpion people are dead by “Light Spinner”, as the fandom assumes (though I don’t think they are because the show has no problem with Scorpia being undercover as a mom of 5 scorpions) that means Scorpia has to be AT LEAST in her 30s cause Micah at the time is like 13. But if that’s the case….why is she having a crush on Catra, who’s a teenager???

4) I kinda cringe everytime I listen to “I’m a spy” 😬

5) She shouldn’t have been chipped. I’ll go to the grave mad about that. It comes across as a tactic to make sure Catra didn’t have to confront her, which really bothers me.

6) Her relationship with Entrapta was fun to watch and the fact that they had no resolution with each other despite being close friends is infuriating. (Scorpia even knew that Entrapta had feelings for Hordak, which no one else knew about. You’re telling me now all of a sudden they don’t talk???)

7) She’s a nice, kind villain. But she’s still a villain. I don’t know how I feel about her being “punished” but she was still doing stuff for the Horde, knowing it was bad. Im not really into the infantilization of her as if she did nothing wrong ever. She threw Bow off a ship and had no problem beating up Glimmer in battle 😆

8) I love that she’s like, the only character that has a distinct nose besides Hordak. It really adds to her look.

9) She’s hotter than Catra.

10) I’m so indifferent about her being with Perfuma. Like cool but she really would’ve looked better paired with Lonnie and they had better chemistry

most people don't agree that entrapta is a good rep. there was a twitter thread that said "She-Ra is extremely ableist" and it had 1.5k likes. Now, op said they're not autistic but are speaking out for their autistic moots who had told them so. I went to say that she's actually good rep and a few of op's friends came to me and said "I'm undiagnosing you" so I deleted because it was getting too much being told I'm not a REAL autistic person.

most people really do agree that she is. ive seen way less negative opinions than anticipated. i think it was season 5 that sealed the deal for people liking her as rep.

entrapdak headcanons! (the sequel!) (post canon edition!

- I want to say hordak’s defect gets better, not completely but still he is well enough where he doesn’t constantly need the armor as a exoskeleton (but he still wears it when needed) but he does need a lil help without it still so now he has cane/ staff help him additionally! and yes, he walks like a gentleman with it!!

- after the trial for hordak he has to do community service on beast island for a couple years along with other horde members (yes, this DOES includes catra) with also aiding with restoring etheria and placement for clones and rebuilding kingdoms (though entrapta is handling the rebuilding issues for the majority, he helps her w/ planning ofc he loves that woman)

- the princesses/ rebellion members surveillance him so that "he doesn't go like evil again" and "surprisingly" entrapta eagerly volunteers first to watch him totally not cause she is realizing she loves him- and the whole time when she is supposed to supervise she is just like 👀👀

- which segways INTO the period of hardcore pining from both sides. both are super obvious and clueless, cause well they're both new to these feelings!!

- with entrapta, she realizes that she keeps paying attention to him, like she keeps looking at him, thinking about him- even when she is trying to do science and it starts to get to her and she is just running in circles wondering if she is sick or something because all she thought is that she just missed her lab partner- which she does but she just didn't expect to miss him this much!! and now she is either debating on wether if she tells him or not and she is scared. the girl has been through failure too much with people, and she can't bare to lose him too.

- with hordak, i think with him he always knew. Well not always always but- ever since prime left he realized. he just didn't say anything cause, "why would she??" long angst story short- hordak self deprecates himself to not telling her. but he still admires her from afar and just continue as her lab partner but it isn't easy since he loves her so much and it makes it even worse cause this "random clone" kadroh is now here?? and hordak being hordak obviously sees him as a "threat" (he isn't at all he is just new here but hordak is very protective and oblivious to that) he realizes that after many jealous spouts for like a week but entrapta reassures him he is just a friend but HE is her lab partner and no one can compare (yes they're still not together but it is a sweet moment)

-back in my first head canon post for them i said they get together after entrapta tells him what the crystal says and now im here to elaborate what i mean, it happens when one day when entrapta is supervising on beast island they decide to explore as a break and end up in the center of the island, right where she was at the lowest and she tries to explain her time on beast island, the vines are disconnected at the point but- it still takes a toll on her and she struggles to talk and starts to cry, hordak comforts her and explains of why he didn't come for her and how he thought she was dead when he had realized where she was and tells her hop much she actually means to her and how if he had known he would've came for her and she just cuts him and tells him what it actually says and it leads to her confession and she's rambling and he just listens to er with adoration and happy tears in his eyes and tells her that her reciprocates and yes. they do smooch.

- now that they ARE together the rebellion is either in shock or they've been knew, no in between.

- and to any of the princess who TRIED to tell her what weird or anything about hordak, entrapta gave them the most scariest look because no talks about her lab partner like that!!

- the rebellion quickly held their comments in after that encounter, but they do relentlessly tease hordak because it is so funny to them to see him go soft entrapta on sight

- literally he'll be in the middle of saying something serious and entrapta just walks in and he just goes 🥺🥺

- they also are super affectionate, not like "public-make out" kind of affectionate! like just holding hands ( hair hands either or) or hugging supper tight, or just simple pecks on the cheeks or lips cause you know what they're in love, they deserve it.

- on their break days from restoring etheria they're often in the labs making primeknowswhat, or just lazing around in bed cocooned by hair and they're just cuddling in their little love nest along with their children (imp and emily :) ) ( also now that hordak has learned what self care is he is now very very self indulgent, hesitant at times but non the less)

- sometimes hordak just looks at her and starts crying because she is just so pretty (based on a true story with myself)

- i like the idea of the boys (bow, seahawk, and hordak) all just hang out (and possibly drink because that would just be hilarious) and smitten rant about how much they love their partners

- they are in fact the first to get married (and yes he gets proposes to her when they first go to space together-) as well with kids (what can i say, i want to see momtrapta!! like IMAGINE just like her holding her baby in a sling around her coveralls, ADORABLE!!) and they love their "favorite experiments"/kids so so much and they're happy

Adora had never half-assed anything in her life.

And she’d be damned if she was going to start now, at a time when being fully on her game was more important than ever.

“I just want to do something for her!”

Bow practically had hearts in his eyes. Glimmer was a little less impressed. “I’m pretty sure if you just stayed in bed and napped together all day, she’d be happy.”

“I know, I know.” Adora sighed. “But that’s not - I want to do something good. Like, really show her that I love her.”

“Take a vacation.”

“Glimmer!”

“What? I’m serious,” Glimmer insisted. “If you just like... took an entire week off to do nothing but spend time with her, she’d probably be speechless. Which I would pay to see, by the way.”

Adora frowned, thinking it over. It was true that Catra would probably be floored by Adora taking a week off, no need for She-Ra or anything, just for her.

“I don’t know. Do you think it’s enough? What should we do? What do people do on vacation?”

“You could just travel?” Bow suggested. “You know, get as far from Bright Moon as you can then call Glimmer for a ride back or something when you’re done.”

It was... actually a good idea, Adora thought. They’d spent their whole lives in the Fright Zone wondering what was beyond the Whispering Woods. They could actually see things now. They could see a world full of magic!

The happy thoughts died almost as quickly as they had started. “I... I dunno. I mean, it sounds great, but that would take more than a week, and-”

“Take a month,” Glimmer encouraged. “Take six months, honestly. You guys saved the universe. If anyone’s earned time off, it’s you.”

“That’s a lot of time.”

“And you’ve earned it,” Bow assured her. “Maybe not six months - I mean, you should take six months but I know that would drive you nuts. But take a month. Go places. Spend time together. I think it’d be good for you guys.”

Adora chewed on her thumbnail for a moment before slowly nodding and smiling. “Yeah. Okay.”

This whole thing had started with Catra not feeling like a priority in Adora’s life, after all. A month together would be the perfect way to show Adora she was invested and she cared. Perfect. * * * * * * * * * * * * Catra didn’t get back to Bright Moon that night. “Your cat passed out on my couch,” Mermista informed Adora flatly, turning the screen so Adora could see Catra curled up in a tight ball, sleeping.

“Is she... okay?”

“She’s dumb. Sea Hawk found her almost sick with heat stroke and had to drag her away from the house she was working on.”

Adora’s heart jumped to her throat. “She’s... She’s really trying hard to help with Salineas.”

“And I appreciate it,” Mermista admitted in a rare moment of genuine honesty. “But I’ll appreciate it less if she kills herself in the process. If she’s going to die, I should at least get the first shot.”

“Glimmer can come get her, if you want.”

“Nah, she already feels like hell. She can sleep it off on the couch.”

Adora scrubbed her eyes, smiling weakly. “Thanks, Mermista. Sorry, I guess I should’ve warned you, she gets really intense when she actually puts effort into things.”

“She’s not someone I would’ve pegged for a workaholic. Want me to wake her up to say... I dunno, good night or whatever you guys say to each other?”

“Nah, let her sleep.” Adora wanted Catra home, wanted to talk to her about a vacation, but she was sleeping, and that was more important than anything. She’d been exhausting herself for nearly a month working on Salineas. And while it was earning her some begrudging tolerant will with Mermista (who firmly believed actions were better than any apology Catra could ever say), Adora was worried. A vacation would really do her some good. * * * * * * * * * * * * Glimmer and Adora went to Salineas the next morning to get Catra. They thought it was reasonable to assume she was still sleeping off the heat stroke at the palace.

“Nope, she took off before I woke up,” Mermista said flatly when they found her. “Sea Hawk tried to find her, but he’s not exactly subtle about it, so she probably had plenty of time to hide.”

“Great.” Adora sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. “I’ll... track her down.”

“Tell her if she’s going to keel over to get out of my kingdom. She can die on Bright Moon’s turf.”

“Tell her not to die,” Glimmer added.

“Yes, and yes.”

Mermista pointed Adora in the direction of where they’d found Catra yesterday. She approached a half built house, quietly climbing up the ladder at the side and finding Catra working on the roofing.

“Seriously?” she asked, resting her arms on the edge of the roof. Catra looked up, surprised.

“What?”

She looked exhausted, her face flushed red. Adora sighed. “Are you coming home any time soon?”

“Yeah, yeah.” She went back to work, distracted. “Sorry, I dunno what happened yesterday.”

“You made yourself sick working in the sun all day.”

“Sea Hawk overreacted.” Catra waved Adora off. “He’s just scared you’d kill him if you found he let me overwork myself.”

“Sooooo you’re admitting it?”

“No, that’s just his logic.”

Adora shook her head. “Come on, take the day off and come home. I wanna talk to you about something.”

“I really need to finish this.”

There was a weird moment where Adora thought she understood how Catra had felt for years. Catra had been working nonstop on Salineas for a month, and Adora was starting to feel a little ignored.

But she also understood Catra’s side. She took a deep breath, hauling herself up onto the roof and crawling over to Catra, gently putting her hand on Catra’s and stopping the hammer. “Hey. I get it, okay? But you’re not responsible for fixing all of Salineas.”

“Actually, I kind of am,” Catra replied bitterly. She was far too warm for it to be comfortable.

“I’m pretty sure Hordak could stand to take a little more responsibility than he has.” Adora couldn’t help but be a bit bitter about that. He had mostly stayed in Dryl, working with Entrapta on tech that would help with the rebuilding process. And that was great and all, but it wasn’t much compared to Catra being out here every day working herself half to death.

Catra let out a long sigh, finally relaxing her hand. “I just... need to do this, Adora. Okay?”

“I get that, but you don’t need to do it at the expense of your own health. And yes, I know I’m a hypocrite. But I’m worried about you.”

“I’m fine.”

“No, you’re not.” Adora squeezed her hand. “And that’s okay. Have you eaten anything?”

“No.” The honesty was nice.

“Did you skip eating because you felt sick?” Catra nodded. “Okay. So... you can leave with me, or Mermista can wash you out to sea so you don’t die in her kingdom.”

Catra looked around, and sighed, finally nodding. “Okay. Let’s go.”

Getting her back to solid ground was a bit dicey, but she held herself up and managed to walk back to the palace without much help.

“She lives,” Mermista said dryly when they arrived back at the palace. Glimmer smiled, although she couldn’t hide her worry.

“You okay?”

“Yeah, I’m fine, I’m fine.” Catra smothered a yawn, scrubbing her eyes.

“Picture of health all right,” Mermista deadpanned. “Look, you built like, an entire neighborhood on your own. Come back when you’re not burning up.”

Glimmer rested a hand on Catra’s shoulder, wincing when she felt the heat radiating off of her. Adora took a moment to whisper, “Thank you for taking care of her,” to Mermista. The princess shrugged.

“Yeah, you know. Whatever.”

Catra was not happy with the teleport back to Bright Moon. Glimmer put them close enough to the bed so she could drop straight onto it, groaning. Good luck, the queen mouthed before disappearing. Adora went to the bathroom, wet a washcloth with cold water, and returned to the bed, resting the cloth on the back of Catra’s neck. She shivered.

“Cold.”

“Yes, because you’re burning hot.” Adora settled in next to her. “So, I had an idea, and I already know you’re going to argue with it, but hear me out.” Catra hummed in affirmation. “I was thinking we should take some time off. You and me. I was thinking traveling, but now I’m thinking maybe go visit Frosta and spend a week in the snow.”

“Oh hell no,” Catra muttered. “I am not going anywhere with snow. That’s where I draw the line.”

“But you’re agreeing to the vacation?”

“I dunno.” Catra raised her head. “When? Can it wait until Salineas is-”

“No.” Adora gently clasped Catra’s face in her hands. “I know this is hard for you, but you can’t hurt yourself trying to fix things. That won’t accomplish anything, and nobody wants to see you hurting, not even Mermista.”

Catra looked ready to argue, but something in her expression flickered. “You’re willing to take time off just to do nothing?”

“Not nothing. To spend time with you. We can hold each other accountable. You keep me strapped down, and I’ll lie on top of you to make sure you don’t run off to Salineas.”

Tears slowly filled Catra’s eyes, and Adora panicked for a moment before Catra spoke. “You’d... really take time off to spend time with me?”

“Of course.” Adora kissed her gently. “I love you, Catra. And I know we’ve been through a lot and done a lot that doesn’t really... support that, and I want to prove it now. And I want to take care of you.”

The moment of silence between them was comfortable. The same silence they could have spent hours in at one point in their lives. “I love you too,” Catra finally murmured. “Maybe taking some off to spend together wouldn’t be so bad. If only to see you try and relax.”

“Ha. Ha.” Adora grabbed the washcloth and began gently wiping Catra’s face. “Glimmer gave us a month, but I’m pretty sure she’ll be happy if we want to take more. Let’s start with getting you better, then we can figure out what we want to do from there. Okay?”

“Yeah.” Catra snuggled into Adora’s chest, taking a deep breath. “That sounds good.”

It had worked. Adora couldn’t believe it. “So uh... I’m doing this relationship thing pretty good, huh?”

Catra snorted, reaching up to push her face away. “Get over yourself.”

Question im rewatching She Ra and ive got to the fall of Salineas and im wondering to myself: Why didn't the Horde do anything to their Runestone. As if the minimum that the Horde did was disabled/destroyed the runestone it would have affected the Alliance strength or the Horde could have tried to used it for any means. But nope they leave it alone allowing the Salineas Princess to continue to be poweful. So just wondering did they mention why they couldn't hack/destroy it?

They did not! They did not mention the runestone at all! And y’know, anon, this question has made me do some hard thinking on Hordak, and his abilities, and why he surrounded himself with the people he did, and so we’re in for a long, extrapolated answer that may or may not make sense. So strap in, and enjoy the knowledge that you have just made me talk way more about this than anyone wanted to hear!

I find Hordak to be an incredibly capable individual in terms of organization, enacting plans, utilizing established knowledge, and just... sheer determination. He decides upon a goal, and he is going to achieve that goal. It is going to happen. It may be a difficult road, and he may suffer horribly in his attempt, but he is going to defy the odds and strive doggedly forward and do everything in his power to make things work.

However, the actual methods and strategies he is capable of using appear limited. I’ve spoken about this before, specifically in terms of that time he used uninsulated cables in his experiments, and I’m going to talk about it again in broader terms. 

Essentially, the thing to consider is that Hordak, intelligent though he is, is not adept in the art of innovation. He is very capable of taking his own knowledge and utilizing it successfully, but he is not able to easily deviate from learned instructions. He has significant difficulty “thinking outside the box,” so to speak (likely due to being a clone who was never meant to think up new ideas and innovate and do anything meaningful on his own), and this comes into play in terms of how he wages his war, along with why his success in waging said war increases once Entrapta and Catra lend him their skills.

Technology-wise, Hordak spends decades on Etheria using and modifying his own technology without seeming to have any interest at all in the powerful First Ones’ tech waiting to be taken advantage of. And while I’ve wondered previously if maybe he thought it too old to be of any use, I now consider the notion that he is simply not adept at incorporating new ideas and techniques into his work. Again: as a clone, this would not be something he’d be expected or even encouraged to do. He would be expected and encouraged to follow orders, to enact instructions as he received them. Innovation would be a display of individual will, wouldn’t it? So, it follows that this is not a skill he would possess or even think to develop.

Enter Entrapta: all she does is innovate. Learning new things, incorporating them into her knowledge-base, trying new methods and building upon what she’s done before are very much a strong part of her character. She sees First Ones’ tech, and she immediately tries to figure out how to use it to improve upon existing technology. This is the advantage she brings to Hordak: whereas he finds it very difficult to deviate from his current methods and knowledge, she does not. And so, with her assistance, he is able to reach technological heights previously unattainable to him.

A more military version of this involves Catra.

Think about how the war has come to what is essentially a standstill by the time SPoP begins. It’s been... thirty years, or so? Since Hordak landed on Etheria. He has absurdly advanced tech, yet he cannot seem to successfully conquer more than the Fright Zone. Seems strange, doesn’t it? That he’s unable to utilize his superior resources to do more than harass some villages. Granted, the princesses have supernatural powers, but they’re unorganized at the series’ start. They’re not putting up a united front. So... what gives? Why is Hordak not more successful? And furthermore, why does this suddenly change when he allows Catra to take over the greater strategic planning of Horde activities?

Well, to my eyes, Hordak is with military strategy the way he is with tech: he is very capable of organizing things in a prescribed way, but he is unable to devise new plans outside of what he is used to. Think about where he came from: the Galactic Horde, yes? And what did the Galactic Horde have? Countless robots. Countless clones. All unfailingly obedient. A never-ending army ready to march in and conquer and occupy everything in its path.

Which is what Hordak tries to do, isn’t it? He appears set on systematically taking territory and holding it, very much balking at Catra’s strategy of consolidating forces in favor of a more grand attack on a single target. He is likely operating under a conquering strategy that depends upon having an entire Horde of clones and robots available to enact it (and, perhaps, a conquering strategy based on Prime’s refusal to appear imperfect via losing ground?). Without this sort of force, he struggles to make meaningful headway. And because of his lack of innovative ability, he finds it difficult to devise a new strategy to compensate for a situation that does not include a battle-ready Galactic Horde. 

Catra does not have this problem. Catra is very capable of thinking up new strategies as required, so she comes up with the idea to pull back from the northern perimeter and focus on Salineas, a plan that likely would have never occurred to Hordak. 

Now, back to anon’s question regarding the Salineas runestone (I didn’t forget!). The reason it doesn’t come up, via my logic, is that Catra does not know anything about runestones, and Hordak remains uncertain and unable to easily incorporate such things into his working tech. Entrapta innovated with First Ones’ tech, and he is only able to work with it by basing his methods upon her research (which is how he makes his arm cannon). He is still unable to innovate it entirely on his own, so between Catra’s complete lack of knowledge and his inability to freely experiment with new ideas on his own, the Salineas runestone remains unused. 

Had Entrapta still been with the Horde at this time, that runestone would have been properly assessed and handled, but she’s not. And it’s just not something Hordak can do on his own. 

So! The point of this post. The point of this post is to illustrate how Hordak managed to get as far as he did with limited resources and clone limitations on his abilities: he has a potentially supernatural level of determination and the ability to recognize when others can innovate in ways he cannot. It is his decision to utilize the skills of others to compensate for his lack of innovation, paired with his vicious tenacity, that makes him such a dangerous threat during his attempts to conquer Etheria.

And it is this combination of stubborn will and lack of innovative skill that causes the initial Etherian war to play out in the strange, drawn-out way it does, with a sudden rise in success when Hordak gains access to Entrapta and Catra’s skillsets.

Well! That was much longer than it needed to be. And might be entirely wrong, but it’s a logic that works for me; at the very least, it’s interesting to think about, isn’t it?
