i wish fanart came easier to me, or maybe in general I wish I had the energy and motivation to flesh out all the ideas I have even for fandoms I’m not necessarily fixated on. I have a lot of ideas for lots of pieces in my head, but I often have to conserve my energy to focus on one or 2 specific pieces and my ideas either rot in my WIP folder or never make it out of my head.

i mean, I’d rather have a surplus of ideas than have my inspo run dry, it’s just frustrating to not be able to see most of them to fruition, esp for fandoms that I am passionate about but am not necessarily in the perfect hyperfixation mood to be able to put in the effort and hours. idk feels like the planets need to be perfectly aligned sometimes for me to draw shit which is funy bc rlly i should just be able to sit down and draw whatever I want

i don’t know a lot abt tf2 besides the general concept of funy guys shoot eachother forever. since i know you like it do you wanna tell me more about it? or if it’s not deep then like about your favorite characters or whatever

so tf2 is defined by the two teams: RED & BLU. these sides have been shooting eachother forever bc they’re mercenaries hired by 2 competing companies, which r owned by two dipshit twin brothers who hate each other so so so much (their names r redmond & blutarch mann). they each want what the other got from their father’s inheritance, which boils down 2 identical plots of land/gravel mines (bc they think gravel is a precious resouce), hence the teams of mercenaries.

the mercs themselves each have their own backgrounds, ranging from an australian guy who pisses in jars then throws it at people, to a loch-ness monster obsessed scottish guy who only has one eye bc the other one is possessed by a ghost , to a guy from boston (also one of the dudes on the team is the dad of another guy on the team, WHlCH IS HILARIOUS).

ALL THAT LORE is primarily shared in the main comics, while the game is mostly a (VERY) “GO SHOOT THAT RED/BLU GUY RIGHT NOW” team shooter. there are ALSO little videos that valve made that’re referred to as the “meet the team series,” which serve as quick introductions to each of the 9 characters/playable classes. i really recommend checking them out they are SO SO funny, [here’s a link to a playlist] [i recommend atleast watching meet the spy, that one is classic]

i think im rambling a little BUT my point is.... tf2 is honestly as deep as u wanna interpret it!! like, the comics can get really pretty serious, but they’re also full of shit like.... someone stripping naked & covering themselves in honey in order 2 gain tactical advantage in a fight. also they live in a house full of raccoons AND an actual wizard. i am restraining myself from doing a full comic recap but uhmm they r very very very good & also the game is rlly fun & weird

ok infodump time um. shes from a cool youtube show called epithet erased!! its basically like. abt 1 in 5 people in the ee universe have epic powers called Epithets and theyre basically a word attached to someones soul that lets them do...stuff!as mera puts it

epithets can range from words like Soup to Drowsy to Goldbricker to stuff i didnt even know was a thing until i watched ee like Parapet!

and theres this magic amulet called the Arsene Amulet (usually pronounced arson amulet) and legend says that if u have it u can steal peoples epithets.........

so now someone got their hands on this amulet and now its kinda being hot-potatoed around between the good guys and the bad guys and the morally gray guys

Big Benrey yelling at the science team from afar was also very scary. like that part right before the final door-portal where coomer said something friendly and reassuring and benrey just goes "HE'S LYING!" from nowhere in particular. i have no idea how this silly improv stream managed to absolutely nail some kind of bizarre cosmic horror

OH MAN YEAH... when he keeps floating around them, not hurting them just like, yelling at them its rlly scary. its funny too, which makes it scarier??? when dr.coomer is about to talk to gordon abt like. the whole Video Game Thing. and its about to be a relatively serious scene, and big benrey swooces past them laughing n yelling “im gonna fucking kill you!” in the most casual way its like. both rly funy and  kinda spooky!!!!

or the whole fuckn lynchian scene with gordon wandering through the empty black mesa hallways with bigrey(tm)’s giant head floating around and following him, or just appearing around a corner and screaming at him. and when gordon goes into the locker room benrey suddenly goes from being loud n having fun to like, actually nervous, saying he “doesnt like that room” bc for some reason its the One Place He Cant Enter. that, alongside the whole conversation with normal!coomer which that in itself was  unsettling.

improv comedy  briefly goes cosmic horror!!! i love it!!! heres to hoping that feeling survives the editing process and is even Better in the final product @_@
