signs that adrien “always felt [Marinette] was more than [a friend]” - or: don’t be salty, y’all, the chat blanc confession wasn’t just because she was ladybug. [part 4]

hey y’all! i can’t believe i’m here again for yet another part of my ode to adrien’s love for marinette.

well, actually i can believe it. i’m super extra about my love for them and adrien just gives me so much material that it’s not even funny. i can’t believe i thought i was only make one or two parts of this, and here i am.

let’s just dive right in:

so one thing i have mentioned already is the fact that adrien acts around marinette in the same way chat noir acts around ladybug, except in a more subdued and unconscious way. and he clearly considers them “both” super important in his life, and cares about “them” deeply. and most of the time these feelings are showcased in similar ways, even if obviously he is way more intense and purposeful around ladybug. but oh well, i have talked about his actions and reactions around lb and marinette and i am going to continue talking about it, because i just gotta:

when ladybug doesn’t show up to the surprise he planned he’s all torn up about it, and he sees marinette in the distance, he inmediately goes to her even though he knows marinette has no real reason to interact with chat noir. as far as he knows, chat noir is to marinette just paris’ superhero who she shared that adventure during evillustrator, or that pulled her away from gamer’s grasp. just a couple of random instances, but he felt compelled enough to ignore that and go to her balcony and ask her if she wanted to hang out. now, that could have been anyone, you know? i do genuinely think he would have gone and asked to hang out with any of the other classmates, if he saw them. that’s not the point here. the point is what follows. like, for example, his quiet disbelief:

“you- you’ve gotten your heart broken too?” he asks softly. i don’t think he could really wrap his head around someone rejecting marinette or blowing her off. (oh, irony). and this is also about the fact that he inmediately puts on a smile and asks her to come with him, to show her the surprise he made for ladybug.

and that, my friends, is not something i imagine him doing with just any classmate. this is something he planned for the girl he loves, and i think he would consider it too personal to share with just anyone. same as the way he opens up to her about his feelings for ladybug. i know this is a huge reason that marichat is so popular in the fandom, that potential for vulnerability, and also the higher dose of dramatic irony. but i’m not here to talk about that.

taking a momentary break from all that talk about how poignant that scene to laugh about the fact that when an akuma is chasing marinette his first thought isn’t “i wonder what marinette did to cause this,” but “another supervillain in love with you?” because, you know, marinette is so loveable, what other reason could there be?

but, ok, moving on, even though i’m still gonna be in the marichat side of things. i wanna talk about weredad. that episode truly does a lot to show how much adrien cares for marinette, but also how ladybug and marinette’s own inability to admit her feelings for adrien are the only thing standing in her way. she’s both her own romantic rival and her biggest obstacle. love it.

this is his face when he’s talking about marinette confessing her love for him.

and this is not me zooming in the very same screenshot. no, sir. this is his face when thinking about the possibility of ladybug ever confessing her love for him. as we can see, his expression is nearly identical.

once he gets home plagg teases him about the possibility of marinette being his girlfriend. his response? “stop it, plagg, you know i’m in love with ladybug.”

and he makes this face. he doesn’t say that he doesn’t see marinette in that way at all, just that he is in love with ladybug. and the next morning he repeats that he’ll tell marinette that “she’s not the one [he] loves” but, again, doesn’t say he’ll tell her he doesn’t feel that way about her. (and he doesn’t at any point give a different reason to reject marinette other than the fact that “his heart belongs to [ladybug]” so make of that what you will).

he looks genuinely sad to think that she’ll be heartbroken because of him. which brings me to my next point: he really can’t stand the idea of marinette being sad.

“marinette is important to me and i’ll do whatever it takes to make her feel good when shes around.” we all know marinette is important to adrien, this has been shown in the show, especially in seasons 2 and 3, where they did grow closer (even though i have seen some people in the fandom say they didn’t? what’s up with that, y’all? but whatever)

he makes her a lucky charm, by hand, for her birthday. and he cares enough about it to ask his father, who as we all know he barely interacts with, for his opinion. he takes what he considers precious time with his dad, since it’s so rare, to ask his opinion about a gift for marinette (and to gush about her, as i mentioned in a previous part). why? because she’s important to him, and the lucky charms are a symbol of their bond:

“i always carry the lucky charm you gave me wherever i go.” and as marinette herself said it: the most important thing about a present is the person who’s giving it.

i, too, look at a bracelet my friend gave me with this wistful look in my eye.

spot the differences in these two scenes? i bet you can’t because there are none.

this is it for now. this one didn’t have as many pictures but it’s actually the longest, due to my ramblings. i keep saying the next part will be the last one, but then i realize i have a lot to say still, so who knows? but at least part 5 is a given, since i still have more than 30 screenshots and also several points i want to touch on regarding adrien’s feelings about marinette.

Remembering 5 years of Rise of the Guardians

When I first heard of Rise of the Guardians at the beginning of 2012, I thought the concept was super cool and interesting: the iconic and beloved characters of different holidays teaming up to save the world was something I hadn’t heard before. I missed the build-up during marketing time, but as the release date was approaching I came back and started to get informed. During the last month prior to the movie I saw and read the promotional material and visited the website, where I played some games.

I didn’t saw the movie on November 21st (or during that week, for that matter). I had to wait until November 29th, because that’s the date when it arrived to my country…so I had to avoid spoilers. It was the first time I went to see a movie during its first showing of the day. Yes, I saw the very first projection of the movie (at least in that specific theater). There were 2 things that distracted me: 1) The dub voice of Jack was a startalent: someone from outside the dub industry, therefore the accent was so distinctively local, when it should be neutral as it’s accustomed and that threw me off. I mean, Tooth was a startalent too, but her accent didn’t show as much. 2) Bunny’s voice was the same as Kowalski of Madagascar, so my mind couldn’t stop associating them hahaha. The second time I watched it there was more people in the room and everyone clapped at the end. I hadn’t witnessed something like that in years and that’s why I treasure this memory.

Days later I went to McDonald’s just to get one of the toys, even thought I don’t like their food. I spent $2,500 (in my local currency, that’s around 5 dollars) just for a toy. I chose Tooth. I was frustrated that there was barely any merchandise (and from what I know, not even in the USA). Then, I spent the following 5 months checking BoxOfficeMojo weekly in hopes that the income would increase. It still hurts to this day, hearing that one of your favorite movies sent the studio into crisis. I was so angry when the movie barely won any award. Sometime later, I watched the movie in english and also started to make graphics of the film.

When the movie came out in DVD, there was a version that came with an elf toy, so I asked my aunt (who lives in USA) if she could buy it for me. Sadly, turns out that she picked the regular edition. I also asked for the books. So in 2013 she sent me all these things. When I opened the package the first thing I saw was Bunnymund’s book. The cover looked so soft and shiny that I loved it inmediately. I haven’t read the picture books yet, since I still can’t access to them. I saw Fantastic Flying Books in my country’s bookstores, but I couldn’t find the other books of Bill Joyce (although I found the first 3 books in spanish time later, but I had already read them). Granted, that was years ago and maybe I should check again. Then, later in 2014 I got the 4th book.

This was the first book series I read in english and I feel proud of that, it was a huge step. I was screaming when North was turned into a doll, I laughed when Pitch mocked Toothiana. I’ll never forget how imaginative Guardians of Childhood is and how it inspired the fans to create their own guardians. I think this series is good at adapting: be it popular folklore, be it the process of translate a book into a movie or even the dubbing into different languages (in my case, spanish). I mean it was brilliant how they adapted the kangaroo thing: from australian accent into jumps.

When I found out that Katherine was inspired by Joyce’s deceased daughter, I was really sad. She was my age and she died pretty young. In found it unfair and in some way I wondered why she couldn’t live and I’m here still living. Another way this series inspired me was in belief. It made me understand how religious people feel, even though I don’t ascribe to any of those faiths. Because I could relate, now I don’t mock them as much.

It’s true that I’ve been out of touch for years, but I’m still waiting for a sequel (or a series) and the final book (it probably will take a while for me to get it, so I’ll have to avoid spoilers once again). I don’t think that “believers” is a good term to describe the fans, personally I prefer “guardians”. The relationship between both is reciprocal. Jack said it himself “(being a believer) it kind of makes you a guardian”, because both parts protect each other.

VICA Communicator

The argentinian economy is quite a piece of fun. I have been thinking in a VUCA Machine for a long time, let's say 2 years. It is basically an Enigma Machine with some more things.

A VICA Communicator is a machine designed to be used by The Federal Government of The Good Country of Jaxe, and by its businesses, from all sizes. It provides The National Government with useful data to manipulate the economy every two weeks. Stressing the mechanism, it can be used to manipulate the economy every hour.

VICACom is something similar to a writing machine, with an encryption mechanism. It has got a place to change the cipher, so unlike the Enigma Machine the VICA Communicator can be changed from cipher in seconds. It can send, or read, or both send and read, messages. It also has got a port for a fiber optic cable, for quantum communications. It also has got a satellite antenna, and a short-wave radio antenna. And of course a battery port.

It has got a keyboard with all spanish letters, and also and most important a couple of symbols and quick answers.

The VICA Communicator is designed to this mechanism:

1) The Jaxer Federal Government ask for a determined information. For example: ¿The last tax increase, has got damaged your company a lot?.

2) The Office for Economic Intelligence of every Company then has got the quick answers:

A) Yes.

B) No.

C) Maybe.

D) So so.

E) We do now know.

F) Absolutely.

G) Not at all.

3) Additional information can be added on the MS Mode (Modo Satelital / Satellite Mode). It uses a kind of internet, separated from the DARPA Network / US Internet, to send basic messages. It can use numbers and letters. All comments goes to an online database, where from a website you can see comments and post one. While you are writing, a similar comments shows to you, so you do not repeat the comment. Like when you are typing on Google. The more a comment is selected, the more higher it shows; so the government can quickly prioritize a common issue. Or at least the most common issue. When on MS Mode, it is recommended to use the official website and not the VICACom.

4) All answers goes to a database in the respective mode. Enigma answers goes to the Enigma Database. MS Answers goes to the MS Database. Quantum Answers goes to the Quantum Database. Critical Situation (short-wave radio) goes to the Critical Situation Database.

In general terms, it is preferred that The Jaxer Government uses the Enigma Mode on all its VICA Operations.

Also, all databases are cleaned every week from the search algorithm, but all answers are stored.

So, that's what I thought. It could allow The (Argentinian or Jaxer) National Government to quickly know what is needed. For example, on a future administration that has got to handle 70, 70, 70, 70, 30 (70% inflation, 70% poverty, 70% qualified emigration (Brain Drain), 70% obsolesce (30% investment, when 100% is the minimum to maintain machines and factories in good state), and 30% unemployment) the VICA Communicator can be useful. Very.

For example:

We are thinking of a jump from 21% taxes to 50% taxes. ¿Is that very hurtful to your company?. 50% of all taxes from business are going to be destined to grants and subsidizes.

And the company can answer:

A) Yes.

B) No.

C) Maybe.

D) So so.

E) We do now know.

F) Absolutely.

G) Not at all.

So, that's it. This way the government can actually chat with companies.

By the way, I definitely invested efforts on this type of machine seeing the terrible, horrible, BRUTAL TERRORIFIC HORRORIFIC MONSTRUOSIC management & administration troubles with the Alberto's Administration.

If me, or someone, is going to found Jaxe, then he/she/they/it definitely needs Economic Intelligence, in less than 48 hours. So I think it could be a nice way.

The last thing: Meanwhile VICAComs are produced, The National Government can upload a website to replicate the mechanism.

Also, the ciphers change every month. This is to evade C.I.A. and specially N.S.A. interceptions*. I think the U.S. Intelligence is the main threat. They read every WhatsApp message or every Google search, specially from businesspeople and politicians. An American Operator or Analyst needs to ask a supercomputer what is The Argentinian Business Community thinking, and the supercomputer will respond him/her/they/it... with the correct and useful and precise answer/information.

So what I am trying to do with the ciphers, is re-direct the messages that businesspeople send to policymakers with VICAComs.

If, for example, INVAP or Techint needs something, and they need it quick, they do not send a WhatsApp to the President. They send an 4-times-encrypted message to the Department of Instant Economic Intelligence. This is low level communications.

For example, if a tax increase suffocates INVAP, or a new legislation complicates Techint Operations (contracts), they can send a Yellow Alarm to the D.I.E.I. (Departamento de Inteligencia Económica Inmediata). So The Federal Government paralysis INMEDIATELY the new legislation. The C.I.A. will see that Jaxe has got some trouble with something, but will not know what is causing it.

If the INVAP Director or someone, send a WhatsApp to the President saying: Mister President, your new tax increase suffocates us; and if INVAP is trying to sell, IDK... aircraft to Italy or Australia or Brazil or IDK... Nigeria... then the C.I.A. will immediately tell Lockheed Martin about their competitors status. So Lockheed Martin, or Boing, will act consequently. This is specially relevant with Worldwide Nuclear Contracts, and Regional Radar Contracts. Under my administration, or at least by my algorithms, INVAP Defense is not supposed to provide assets to any foreign nation. Any. I used the Lockheed Martin case because I don't know what US Companies sell nuclear reactors, and I don't want to Google them right now.

Anyway,

with a VICACom, that is not designed to chat, just to send a quick message (not a full conversation, like the purpose of the Enigma Machine), with a VICACom the government can avoid fucking it up. Like the Alberto's Administration constantly do. Every day. Almost every 6-8 hours...

I don't know, and I don't think, a future administration of mine or my political party or someone at my ideology, I don't think they will make a mistake. Or at least not a catastrophic error. But just in case... there is the set of Black, White, Red, Orange, Yellow, Apple Green, Green, Cyan, Light Blue, Blue, Dark Blue, Violet, Fuchsia, Pink and Grey buttons. Just in case.

For a constant communication, there must be a machine, like the Enigma machine but much better... I'm working on it. My calculations is that I will finish it in 2028 and start deployment for The Jaxer Political Party at 2029. This will difficult American & British Political Operations on Argentina and worldwide (for Jaxe). I mean, it will difficult any country's operation... it is just that The United States of America has got a super wow cool hyper extra mega super duper great awesome beautiful intel network here... and I don't think we're going to be friends. So I better prepare.

That machine also is ready to change ciphers, so a same machine can be used with different electromechanical engines, and join them to an electronic computer, and so on. So you can mix ciphers and stuff. You can change the cipher of the machine, like you change batteries from a notebook. Or you can add a battery after a battery, and have a new cipher. You can add 16 ciphers. 1000. 10000000000. But most importantly you can mix two or three of them and make a new cipher in seconds. You just need that somehow your buddy will knew the new cipher.

I want everyone to get this: Imagine a 1.945 writing machine, with a keyboard with letters, numbers and some rectangles from different colours. Picture a box behind it, that says CIPHER 4-B-8-J. Now picture you add a new box behind the box, that says CIPHER 6-2-6-8-H-A-F-H. There you got, a new cipher. You can also change the 4B8J cipher, and use the 6268 before, and then the 4B8J. And you got a new cipher. Every cipher is designed to be mixed with a new cipher mechanism above it, under it, next to it, behind it, in front of it, etcetera. Like LEGO blocks, but on all directions. You can also write with a cipher, change places, write again, replace with a new cipher-box, and write again. And if you add codewords, like replacing I don't know... President with potatoes...

You just need to add, replace, change from places, boxes.

Another thing that I was thinking is that to annulate the pattern analysis, I was thinking of a grid. This is a new cipher, that goes behind the box like a normal cipher but has got a keyboard on it. You can still add a box in front of it, between the cipher and the machine.

If somehow, and probably will, the N.S.A. cracks my super cool 15-18 year old (I designed my algorithms before the machine)... then they will not know what it is about. They may guess.

If you combine it with an unknown sender, or an unknown station (instead of the message going out from INVAP installations), and with codewords (instead of HE HE being president, it could be in the third section APPLE TREE and in the fourth section RED), then I think we can evade a little.

Also I'm scared about the chinese, but I don't think/guess they will have the means/the assets to target The Jaxer Political Party as the Americans do......... but I'm still scared of some stupid Jaxer Political Party Staff sending Tier 4 - Strictly Secret and Confidential Information through WhatsApp... or sending nudes/buying drugs on Instagram... I see it coming. I just see it coming... it will happen... I know it.

Anyway. That's the VICACom Machine... hopefully I will have some Cold Machine Stuff (My Enigma Machine) in two or three years... it is just that I have got trouble learning electronic things... and I can't create a proper cipher... or CPU...

*The N.S.A. will eventually read the messages. The idea is that the U.S. Intel Community reads them after, I don't know, three months. So they can not sabotage our efforts. They will know what we did, but just not in time to react and sabotage our policies.

This is the 2nd night in a row i have been keep up all night by thoughts, mostly about this boy.

I met him at larp. He’s a fairly powerful warden and sorcerer, and i met him (in game, in character) in a tavern. People were paying him to draw wards on them (which give you in game advantages). I always notice peoples teeth first, and he has really cute teeth and a really cute smile. He was very attractive. I asked what he was doing and he briefly explained what the wards are and i was like cool, and started to walk away, and then he was like “I’ll give you one for free” and reached out his hand to take mine. He drew an anti perm ward on my left hand and was really sweet about it. I said thanks and proceeded to leave the tavern. I kept thinking about him though.

It became a running joke between my closest friends and i that i was going to wander around and look for the hot mage. I didn’t have any other interactions with him at game, but i saw him around a couple times and would try not to stare too long.

After packing up and heading home, i texted patrick. He is in the same culture as the hot mage and so they interact a lot. I asked what his name was and proceeded to do a *very small* amount of fb digging, just to see if he was single, ya know just in case. I then went on the page where everyone was doing their post game posts so people can find each other and i saw his. I liked it, friended him, and wrote a little comment.

“Thanks for teaching me about warding in the tavern, you seem really cool and i hope we can interact more next game”. He liked it and commented back to talk him up about warding sometime. He friended me back and then liked my profile picture and i was like interesting...

I was planning for the long road. Give it a couple days then dm him about warding, or just conveniently show up at a combat practice where i knew he would be and be casual and flirty then. Or try to flirt with him next game, over a month from now. But then he dmed me.

“Hey i hope the warding stuff worked out alright. Your costume was very cute btw”

I saw this while texting my friends joking about “operation hot mage” and it being my characters one true objective to hook up with him ha ha it’s never gunna happen tho, and then he just slid in my dms and called me cute?? Like who is running this mod, it’s not realistic.

I sweat and overthink for a bit and then finally, with heavy encouragement from my friends, messaged him back.

“I remember you being exceedingly cute as well” and then i inmediately change the subject to talking about warding vs alchemy and i can’t decide HAHAHAHAHA

He replied with an “Awwh thanks ^-^” and then we discussed magic for a bit. Ya know, normal small talk things, apprentice vs journeyman scrolls, mana control, herbalism. Basic stuff.

Then he was like oh we also have a combat practice that meets every weekend, id love to see you there sometime. And i was like yeah sounds awesome, i hope to see you there and he was like “I would very much like that as well 😊”

So of course, based on this, i should overthink right? Because of course we’ll hook up and of course he’ll want to date me because of course I’m irresistible. But like.. none of that could be true. Maybe he was just being friendly, and then i made it weird calling him cute outright because he only said my outfit was cute, so really I’m the one who made it weird, and I’ll be super awkward next time i see him because of course i will because i don’t know how to flirt and of course I’ll say something wrong or I’ll be too enthusiastic or not enthusiastic enough and eveerything will be ruined.

And on top of those anxieties, it’s like, hey, even if all those (unlikely) assumptions are true, like.. am i even looking for a relationship? Like a truly monogamous relationship. Cuz i really like being with my goth couple and hanging out and hooking up with them and i like where the general friendship is going.. and then theres emily and we kinda have a thing right now, and we cuddle and are affectionate but it’s not a relationship and she might be ace so idk... then theres dempsey which is it’s own enormous can of worms that boils down to if we get together again, it’s for the long haul. So yes of course i want that, and i want to be with him again, but at this very moment, i don’t really want to give up my other interactions. Not because i want someone else to be my forever person, but because i want the experiences and i want to be single wnough to be in control of this sort of thing and i am right now, but then enter hot mage and my structure is breaking a little.

No joke this is the 2nd night in a row i have not slept because I’m thinking about him. I keep looking at screenshots of our conversations and this one photo i saved off of his fb because he has such a cute smile..

But I’m overthinking and that’s unhealthy. My therapist said the same thing after i was doing this nonsense when emily and i started hanging out more. I can’t let things sit for a minute. I wanna skip ahead and see how the story ends.

But i can’t really do that here until i see him. Cuz also, I’ve only interacted with Archmaster Kayn, not the real person. And based on his post game post, he is “not his character”. His character was just really suave and a little bit of an asshole but i was like 🤤.. so I’m eager to see what the real guy is like. Also notice i say guy and not his name because *sigh* his name is ryan and i feel like talking about a ryan usually is referring to dempsey so that’s something i gotta get used to.

I like him tho.. he’s so attractive and nerdy and has great hair.. all that’s left is actually talking to him in person out of character and seeing how we mesh then. Maybe he’s not even a little bit interested and i can move on. Or maybe he’s dtf which would be amazing. Or maybe he would want to date and id have to figure out if i want that or not.. or we could just be really good friends.

I’m kinda cool with whatever but i can’t stop thinking about it. I can’t put it out of my mind for long enough to focus on anything else. I can’t focus on school or friendships or any other potential relationship because i keep trying to remember what his voice sounded like, or trying to imagine what his personality is like, or trying think of things to talk to him about when i see him on saturday.. I’m so nervous about all of it.

It’s 6:30 in the morning and i haven’t had a minute of sleep tonight. Is this how it’s going to be until i see him? What if i waste all this sleep and time thinking about him and then i get in person and I’m like, meh. I’m over it. Cuz that’s happened before. I build things up in my head and then I’m disappointed by the outcome. And that wouldn’t even be his fault, cuz like he said, he’s not his character. So maybe i was just fawning over the suave hot mage when in reality he’s nothing like that..

I just can’t let it go. I find him so attractive.. it’s kind of pathetic. Why am i like this. Also, why must i get bored when it’s no longer a hunt?.. that’s probably why I’ve stayed so interested in emily because like nothing is set in stone and so much is up in the air that theres like still some work to do. And my mind likes a challenge. Hence i was gearing up for the long battle of ~make the hot mage fall in love with me over a series of months~ but then he just outright calls me cute and i have no idea what to do.

What if he’s creepy? What if he’s a virgin? What if he has no direction in life? What if he’s 45? What if he actually is an asshole?.. or a fuckboi, cuz christ i do not need another one. That’s why i like the nerdy boys cuz theyre so rarely also undercover assholes. Theyre usually cute and awkward and nervous but the payoff is amazing. Nerds tend to appreciate the hell out of their partners, plus i find them way more attractive usually than the pretty boy/fuckbois of the world.

I just wanna get to know him. I just wanna listen to him talk about magic. I just wanna sit on a park bench with him and talk about magic and maybe touch my knee to his. Really that’s all.

But here i am at almost 7am really just playing out every possible scenario.

What is i invite him over and he thinks my room is childish? Or he notices the rips in my comforter? What is he thinks I’m fat? Or he thinks I’m not as interesting in person and out of character as he thought.. even though my character is basically just me and talks and sounds almost exactly like me.

Still, what if he thinks I’m boring or dumb or since i don’t know game mechanics that I’m not worth talking to. What if xyz?

I really can’t eat or sleep these past two days. I can’t focus. I’m also like really horny cuz i haven’t gotten laid in 3 weeks which is a lot for me, so it’s possible that most of this is projected at poor hot mage because i need to get laid and he called me cute so therefore the hunt is on.

But also maybe i shouldn’t be meddling in peoples lives. When if he turns out to be really sweet and i just stomp in trying to hookup and hurt his feelings. I mean guys do that all the time but it’s different for me. Every guy I’ve hooked up with (except 3 ways with couples) has wanted a relationship with me so i kinda don’t know any better.

I want to sleep. I want to eat something. My stomach is hurting but I’m too tired to get up and feed myself. I just want to talk to him and compliment him and play dumb and pretend like i don’t understand the game mechanics of basic magic so that i can listen to him explain it to me..
