The Wheel of Time

So, I am reading The Wheel of Time series and am currently on book 6 (just started it) and I want to stop reading the series. It feels more like work as it has so many characters coming and going that I feel like I need to take notes to keep track of them all. I have only given up on two series in my life by not finishing them, but this may be the third. The books are just frustrating to read and get more frustrating with every turn of the page.

With most book series, I will read them whenever I can. However, I find myself only wanting to read the Wheel of Time series during my 20 minutes of cardio at the gym. I don’t even worry about the characters or story after I have put the book away. I may be alone in this, but part of me wants to just read the last book of the series, even though I know it was not written by the original author, just to be done with the series.

I just worry that if I keep reading each book, which average about 840 pages each, that I will be super disappointed in the ending and angry that I stuck with it. I have read a few series where I couldn’t believe I trudged through the series only to be extremely disappointed with the ending. And those series only had 3 to 6 books. This series has 14!

What to do? Perhaps I should just read the 14th book to release me from this conundrum.

Crossover Time!

So, did Boorman start hanging out in the city of Fal Dara before or after the events of Willow 2022?

Not sure Wheel of Time and Willow would work as part of the same universe, but personally I wouldn't put it past Boorman to accidentally wind up in an alternate dimension while looking for the Cuirass.

Well I just finished The Dragon Reborn in two months. Very proud of my reading speed, but also now I actually remember the entire plot instead of being stuck with stuff.

Mat is definitely the sort of person I would want to hang out with if I wanted to forget my responsibilities. Plus I'd just like to hear him rant about Aes Sedai because it's so funny.

Perrin, I love you. I swear he's brilliant. He just gets on with stuff.

Rand. Babe. Well done. But get therapy. That would be really good for you in the next book.

THANK YOU ROBERT JORDAN FOR INCLUDING A CHARACTER FROM A CULTURE BASED OFF OF SOUTH ASIA (well kinda because Zarine Basheer is definitely a South Asian name but idk if in the book lore her culture is based off of South Asian culture but yeah)

Erm. I don't want to give spoilers. But I will say, very good ending. Very very interesting.

I need to read other books but damn I really want to buy the next book in this series. I am invested at this point, I want MORE.

Suian thinking they’d be better off if the Dragon were a girl is so funny. Like Suian, babe, I love you wholeheartedly but you would not have an easier time with EGWENE AL’VERE as your prophesied savior I promise. Sure you don’t have to worry about her going insane, but Egwene is so stubborn she’s resisting an empire that’s spent a thousand years perfecting indoctrination. Egwene once threatened a full-fledged sister because she blamed her for Nynaeve’s death. Egwene would say “I am going to get a good grade in ‘being the prophesied savior who will either save or destroy the world,’ something that’s normal to want and possible to achieve” and then start fucking the shit up of everyone she doesn’t like - INCLUDING everyone she doesn’t like in the White Tower. And keep in mind, her best friends are 1.) Nynaeve al’Meare, human embodiment of the “I’m a healer but…” meme, and 2.) Elayne Trakand, the heir to the throne of the most powerful country on the continent who knows Egwene for two days and then is so ride or die for her that she tries to follow her out of the Tower and then starts attacking the “women who enslave channelers” crew with a stick.
