I'm sorry are you saying bald Zuckermusk Trumpesoz does NOT reflect modern villainy?
EDIT: I'm glad Lex isn't in this too soon, because then all the focus would definitely go to him! And other characters deserve a chance to shine (anime twink Slade is giving me life I can't stop laughing at him.) But the Amazo-tech-bro villain in Ep 4 proves that "Lex Luthor not reflecting modern villainy" is BS lmaoo. Looking forward to LL whenever he shows up.

We're currently in season 2 of our Smallville rewatch (or first in my partner's case) so, largely from memory, here is my ranking of Smallville characters who should have been canonically queer listed on a scale from "Dude it was right there! I cannot fathom why you fumbled the ball here!" to "I mean I get why you didn't, but the subtext was loud". I might change my ranking after we finish the show.
1. First and most egregious we have Tess Mercer.
This woman is a lesbian.
Her second scene in the entire series is a square off with Lois in which Tess waits maybe 15 seconds before asking if Lois is into role play (to be fair, Lois is in a Spirit Halloween style french maid outfit at the time). Their tension remains severely homoerotic throughout the her time on the show.
They pair Tess with Oliver. They pair her with Zod. They give her the hots for Clark and none of it feels the least bit authentic. She is gay. Let this woman be gay.
2. Coming in at a close second is Chloe Sullivan.
Comp het is the only narrative explanation I can think of for why Chloe spent so much time pining for the obviously disinterested Clark when Pete was right there!
(Yes, I know that the actual reason is network demanded the love triangle, but I want an in-universe explanation, damn it)
Don't get me wrong, I remember her relationship to Jimmy being delightful, but "spent my teen years wanting someone who I knew didn't want me" is giving big "closeted and not ready to deal with my sexuality yet" energy.
Also her jacket choices in the early years feel distinctly sapphic to me, a sapphic who lived through this era.
Bonus: she and Lana could have ended up together and driven a stake right through that love triangle from hell.
3. Lois!
Lois is bi. Fight me.
Am I saying this just because I'm in love with her? No, but I'm gonna be real with you, it is a factor. It's just so obvious to me.
Let bygones be bygones and bi gals be bi gals
4. Clark Kent
Am I saying this just because I'm in love with him? No, but I'm gonna be real with you, it is a factor.
As the show went on, they dipped more and more heavily into the "super powers and kryptonite poisoning as queerness allegory" and it's... it's not great. But that's a whole other post. I just think that if you make listen to a character earnestly describe herself as her bestie's "krypto hag" when talking him through an issue he's having with his sex life AND you make your first on screen lesbian a homicidal shape shifter the least you can do is make your allegorically queer main guy actually bisexual.
Let bygones be bygones and bi guys be bi guys
Also it would kinda explain why he looked the other way about Lex's deeeeeply creepy behaviors for so long. He had the same blind loyalty to Lex that he had to Lana. While I do not ship them especially in the early seasons (Clark is a teen and Lex is in early 20s for the first 4 years of the friendship, that's a big nope for me) Clark having a crush on his morally dubious older friend would explain a lot.
Clark, that grown man is bribing a government agent for your mom's medical records. He is not you friend!
5. Lana Lang
I just think it would have been neat. As I mentioned under the Chloe section I would have really liked it if she and Chloe had ended up together.
Also Lana's journey from damsel in distress (that poor kid is in so. much. distress.) to morally complex love interest to superhero in her own right could also have been a really cool exploration of gender identity.
While I know the average TV writer in the 2000s first association the the word "binary" was likely "code" rather than "gender", non-binary Lana Lang would have slapped.
6. Lex Luthor
Lex is the official recipient of the "I completely get why they didn't make this canon, but the subtext was loud" award.
Lex is manipulative, duplicitous, obsessive, and predatory. (In other words, just another billionaire amiright) Making him canonically gay or bi would have reinforced some extremely harmful stereotypes and given how popular the show was in its time, I am very glad they didn't do this.
That said, he's just so obsessed with Clark and he loooves to compare himself to Alexander the Great.
And a season 6 (when everyone is adults) toxic, chaotic Clark/Lana/Lex throuple would have been amazing. The secrets! The betrayals! Certainly beats the canonical Lex/Lana doomed abusive marriage and ride on the ever present Clark/Lana merry-go-round.
Lex also made a clone combining his DNA with Clark's. Fellas....
Honorable mention: Oliver Queen
I don't have a narrative reason.
Maybe the fact that he was paired with first 3 people on this list at different points in the series just gives him a bit of bi/pan 4 bi/pan energy.
I also just think it would have been fun. And I like fun.

the cw stands for diversity!!!!!! yeah i love all my diverse sg characters with zero agency, storylines or direction!!!! kelly is so important, let's show her consoling a couple of folks for about 43 seconds, that should be enough!! what do you mean we should've shown the conversation where alex tells her about kara? doesn't make sense in our book, did we make it seem important somehow? but look!! the lesbian couple gets a hug!!! surely that is the best diversity out there

The Hollywood Reporter rounds up the major twists, epic fights and big reveals on all the DC Comics TV shows.
Welcome back to The Hollywood Reporter's weekly DC TV Watch, a rundown of all things DC Comics on the small screen. Every Saturday, we round up the major twists, epic fights, new mysteries and anything else that goes down on The CW's Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, Black Lightning and new series Batwoman. This week, we're rounding up all the teases to the upcoming Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover so far and what it means for the Arrow-verse.
Which shows are participating? | For the first time, the Arrow-verse crossover will be five episodes long, one hour for each Arrow-verse series: Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow and new series Batwoman. The epic event will be split into two chapters: three episodes airing December 2019 and the remaining two airing January 2020 with the holiday hiatus in the middle. This will be the last crossover including Arrow, as the flagship series of the franchise will end with a 10-episode final season that brings it right to the crossover (with one or two episodes remaining after to tie up loose ends and say goodbye with a proper series finale).
Tumblr media
Which character will die? | Unless you've been hiding under a rock for the past six months, you already have a pretty clear idea of what the Crisis is. First introduced during this past Elseworlds crossover, otherworldly being Mar Novu aka The Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) came to Earth-1 to test the heroes of the world to see if they'd be enough to fight the impending Crisis. In the fight, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) made a deal with The Monitor to save Barry (Grant Gustin) and Kara's (Melissa Benoist) lives. But as fans learned in the Arrow season seven finale, Oliver had no idea what kind of a deal he made. It wasn't until The Monitor showed up at Oliver's new off-the-grid home after he had retired from the superhero life with his wife Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and their newborn daughter that he learned it was his life he traded for theirs. Oliver now knows that he will die in the Crisis, but he went with The Monitor anyways to help save the world. And in the Arrow season seven finale, his death was confirmed in the future flash forwards, as his gravestone revealed the year he died: 2019. That means Oliver will die at some point in the first chapter of the crossover (the first three episodes airing in December 2019), with the second chapter in 2020 dealing with the fallout.
What is the Crisis? | But for what exactly is Oliver going to die? The conflict of the upcoming Crisis comes ripped straight from the comics in the huge, 12-issue series published in 1985-86, widely regarded as one of the most important comic arcs of all time. The story was designed to get rid of the multiverse and make one continuity for readers, making the world of DC easier to understand and more exciting with more opportunities for characters to cross over with each other. And the effects were far-reaching for every single comic book series. The Crisis kicks off with The Monitor's evil counterpart, The Anti-Monitor, as he begins destroying Earths with antimatter so he could become the ruler of all realities. This means Garrett will most likely pull double-duty to play both The Monitor and the evil twin. However while The Monitor does return briefly to recruit heroes from all Earths to stop The Anti-Monitor, he's killed pretty quickly. The Anti-Monitor plays a much bigger role.
Tumblr media
What will the Crisis do to the Arrow-verse? | Aside from claiming at least one major hero's life (expect many, many other casualties from the big event in addition to Oliver), the ultimate goal of the Crisis is to destroy the multiverse. That's right: while the heroes do ultimately defeat The Anti-Monitor, they don't succeed in stopping his plan fully. At the end of the arc, there is only one single shared universe left standing, a merger of five different Earths. While Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and new series Batwoman all take place on Earth-1, it's important to note that Supergirl takes place on Earth-38. As of now, Kara requires breach technology to cross dimensions for crossovers. But after the Crisis, whatever Earth is left over will have all of the remaining Arrow-verse heroes who survive, making crossovers that much easier to pull off and explain. But could Black Lightning also become a part of this new reality? It's currently not part of the Arrow-verse, but if The CW really wants to make an impact, having a surprise appearance of the other DC TV series in the crossover would be the best surprise. The possibilities for lasting impact are endless with this crossover if the writers fully lean in to the potential.
What teases have dropped so far? | So many clues that the Arrow-verse was heading in this direction were planted from the very beginning of the franchise. When The Flash first debuted, Barry had access to a future newspaper headline: "Flash Missing, Vanishes In Crisis," which has always meant the show was going to take on the Crisis arc. It was also referenced throughout the entire Elseworlds crossover as The Monitor noticeably kept using the word "crisis," warning that one was imminent, and that was why he was rewriting reality to test every Earth to see if there were any heroes good enough to face whatever was coming. But the end tag of Elseworlds confirmed that he was indeed trying to prepare Earth-1 (along with all the other alternate versions of Earth) for Crisis on Infinite Earths.
After that, the Arrow-verse had fun dropping in even more teases leading up to the biggest crossover yet. First The Monitor showed up in the Arrow season seven finale to collect on the deal he made with Oliver, bringing him along on his otherworldly journey as he tries to stop the Crisis. In the future, he brought Felicity through a portal to presumably reunite with her dead husband, implying that she was moving on to the afterlife. Then The Monitor showed up on Supergirl in the season four finale, bringing a revenge-motivated Martian with him and doing something to Lex Luthor's (Jon Cryer) dead body. Then he showed up again in the Legends of Tomorrow season four finale, but he didn't do anything besides observe the Legends in action and eat popcorn while shaking his head and smiling. This was the first time The Monitor came in contact with the Legends since they had sat out the Elseworlds crossover, and it will be interesting to see how they fit into Crisis.
Tumblr media
The final tease (so far) came at the very end of The Flash season five finale, when the future newspaper headline first seen in the series premiere changed as a result of the timeline changing. The date of The Flash's disappearance moved up from 2024 to 2019, confirming that it's always been warning of the Crisis. In the comics, The Flash is one of two heroes to die during the Crisis. But there's no way The Flash is going to kill off Barry Allen. It's more likely that he'll actually disappear at some point in the first three episodes of the crossover (since it occurs in 2019). And while The Flash's disappearance was permanent in his daughter Nora's (Jessica Parker Kennedy) original timeline, that doesn't mean Barry won't ever return from the Crisis now that the timeline has changed. In fact, he could return during the second chapter of the crossover airing in 2020, after that newspaper headline is printed. Seeing as how The Flash has a full season six, the star probably won't be written off entirely. And Oliver did trade his life for Barry's, so it wouldn't make sense for both heroes to disappear permanently even though Barry is one of the casualties in the Crisis comic book arc. Expect the Arrow-verse to make some changes from the source material in that regard.
One last prediction ... | Since Oliver traded his life for both Barry and Kara's, it would stand to reason that another major hero is going to fall to make a balance. So what other Arrow-verse hero will likely die in the crossover alongside Oliver? Since Supergirl sacrifices her life to save Superman's in the comics, the inverse could come true onscreen. Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) is the obvious choice for the second major casualty, both because he wouldn't take down an entire show with him and because he would serve as an equal trade for Supergirl, laying down his life to save hers. And it would be all the more heartbreaking to lose him, as he received news from Lois Lane (Bitsie Tulloch) that she's pregnant with his child during Elseworlds. So if Superman were to die in the fight against the Anti-Monitor, he would do so knowing that his legacy (and love) would survive with Lois and his child, and the world would be in good hands with Kara. He left Earth-38 at the end of Elseworlds to live with Lois on Argo City with their unborn child, but that he'd return if the world needed him (and it will be all hands on deck for Crisis). Plus, he told Kara point-blank he felt he could leave because Kara was the hero the world needed. Sure sounds like the groundwork for Superman's death has been set.

Just finished the Umbrella Academy last night and lemme say. It's good. Not great. But pretty good. This is just my opinion of course, but I think it could have been great if they didn't succumb to the cliche's we all saw coming. Plus, and I dunno how eveyone elss feels, but I honestly HATE Vanya. I understand what they were trying to do. She was shunned for being ordinary. Left out. Excluded. Ignored. Always over looked. I get it. She deserves to be angry, and resentful, and hurt, and a little broken.
But.
That doesn't mean she's a good character. Even if it's believable that she'd act these ways, it doesn't make her less annoying. The entire season spirals around her. Even when it's an episode about one of the other siblings, here comes Vanya. And I'll say it. She's not interesting. She's a whiney little cry baby who I don't feel sorry for, I just wanna smack in the face.
She's the reason the show isn't great. Because the whole end was predictable and you KNEW was coming. Like, really? We're doing THIS?
The rest of the siblings are awesome. Interesting, rounded, fun, and a bit cliche but not in an obnoxious way. Their cliches are tolerable. Everyone has some trauma they need to deal with. And maybe theirs wasn't going on as long as Vanya's but it doesn't make it any less painful.
Allison lost her daughter. Lost the single most important person in her life over a mistake.
Luthor was exiled to the moon and before that his whole family left him alone with their dad who constantly reminded him if he was a good number 1 they wouldn't have left.
Diego was in the shadow of Luther the entire time they were growing up. Never felt good enough, struggled with his stutter and constantly pushed himself to be better.
Ben, I mean. He died. He has it the worst. He has to hang out with Klaus as the only member of his family he can talk to. Can't do anything except watch.
Five spent DECADES alone. By himself, knowing that his entire family was dead. Blaming himself for not being there. With only a mannaquin for company.
And Klaus sees the dead. They scream at him, demanding things he cannot give. Scaring him when he refuses to listen. And otherwise ruining his life as he has to take drugs just to quiet the voices and have a moment of peace. Not to mention that their father also locked him in a cage for days at a times to try and harden him to his fears, which only made everything worse.
The show is great when it delves into the feelings and thoughts of the 5 siblings (Ben is ignored) seeing them deal with not only their powers but also their own feelings and their siblings and the world in general is great. Plus the rest of them aren't afraid to be funny. Or talk to their other siblings however they want. Creating interesting dynamics, and alliances. Now, I get Vanya never had the chance to get close to any of her siblings due to being "ordinary" but she doesn't even try to talk to them as adults.
Watching Five and Luther or Diego and Klaus. Is fun, interesting and enjoyable. Vanya with anyone is just an eye roll. How much longer? Can I fast forward? Blah
The whole reason to watch though is Klaus. He's so much fun and Ben is awesome, and you can only get Ben with Klaus. Klaus is so crazy, and open with his family. Selfish, loud, funny, and tortured. We can't forget that he is harrassed by the dead. 24/7. Never gets any moment alone. Ever. And the only way to get a moment of silence is to be high all the time. And even if he tries getting sober the voices always come back, louder and scarier than before.
Anyway, phone is dying, just wanted to get out some thoughts. Basically I think the show is 6 or 7 out of 10.
And Klaus is 10/10.

Conversation
Smallville Season 1: We're gonna be a charming, modern-day version of the Superboy mythos, with small-town human drama and high-school teenage angst always put above any over-complicated stories and special effects-filled action sequences.
Smallville Season 2: Hey, let's get more stereotypically soap opera-y, with love triangles, long-lost parents, long-lost siblings, and treacherous marriages up the wazoo!
Smallville Season 3: Viewers seem to be responding well to Lex and Lionel Luthor. Well, all right then, it's the Luthor Show now! Clark who? Good is dumb! Evil rules!
Smallville Season 4: Look! It's Lois Lane! And Krypto! And Mxyzptlk (kind of)! We're totally still a Superman-based show and not ripping off Buffy the Vampire Slayer!
Smallville Season 5: OK, we've gone past 100 episodes and John Schneider's contract is up and we've reached the end point of our initial 5-year plan. We should start building toward a conclusion and keep the quality of the show as high as possible.
Smallville Seasons 6-10: Clark's gonna fight Bizarro and Doomsday and fucking Darkseid, and meet half of the Justice League, and fall in love with Lois Lane and have her learn about about his powers, and basically do everything that Superman should do BEFORE he ever actually becomes Superman! Who cares if that goes against the show's original intent and makes no goddamn sense? As long as it makes money, we'll keep it on air!

Tumblr media
Taking Clark's Body Heat, Sean Is Returned To Normal For Now. With The Gates Shut And The Alarms On The Luthor Mansion Is A Fortress That Sean Can't Get In Or Can He?
Yep, Turns Out Sean Got In Before Lex Shut The Damn Gate!
Greatest Mind The World Has Ever Known My Ass!
With The Generator Frozen, Power Is Completely Off, With Jonathan Going To Check The Gate, Martha Goes To Check The Generator Where She Runs Into Sean However Clark (Still Alive Despite Sean Stealing His Body Heat) Arrives To Fight Sean In One Last Battle...
Fighting Sean, He Steals Clark's Body Heat Again But Still Okay...
Tumblr media
The Next Day At The Kent Farm, Lex Visits Jonathan After Hearing That Jonathan Took Out Another Bank Loan Meaning That Jonathan Is Not Going To Accept Lex's Offer...
Telling Jonathan That When He Changes His Mind, His Offer Will Still Stand, Lex Walks Away...
Meanwhile, At Smallville High, Chloe Stands By A Memorial For Jenna, Counting Her Blessings That That's Not Her And Swearing That The Next Time A Guy Asks Her Out She's Gonna Do An In-Depth Background Check First...
After Talking With Chloe And Pete, Clark Goes Over To Talk With Lana As He Apologizes For Screwing Up Their Date. Asking If She Would Like To Do It Again Maybe Saturday But Lana Turns Down Clark Because Whitney Is Taking To That Exhibit In Metropolis Because Was Freaked Out By Their Non-Date..
And That's Cool And It's A Good Episode
The Story's Good, The Characters Are Well Written, It Had A Great Villain In Sean But I Do Have A Problem With That One Scene I Talked About At The Beginning Of The Episode, Jonathan's Resilience Towards Lex And Whitney's Growing Jealousy Of Clark And Lana's Friendship/Relationship But Despite Those Reasons I Say See It...
Till Next Time, This Is Duke, Signing Off...

Duke Reviews Tv: Smallville 1x01 Pilot
Hi Everyone, I'm Andrew Leduc And Welcome To Duke Reviews Tv, Where Today We Are Starting Our Series Long Look At Smallville...
Tumblr media
Yes, Smallville, The Superman Origin Series Starring Tom Welling As Clark Kent, Kristen Kreuk As Lana Lang And Michael Rosenbaum As The Flash...I Mean Lex Luthor Which May Have Started As A Tween Show But Quickly Grew Into A Superhero Series, And I Didn't Watch The First 3 Seasons Of It When It Aired
I'm Serious, When Smallville First Aired I Did Not Watch The First 3 Seasons Of It, I Was More Interested In It's Competition, Birds Of Prey Because 1. It Was Themed Around Batman And 2. I Thought It's Star Ashley Scott Was Pretty Hot Even Though She Wouldn't Gain Half As Much Success As Her Co-Star, Shermar Moore...
Tumblr media
Yes, Yes, Ladies I Know You Love Him....
Anyway After Birds Of Prey Was Cancelled I Stayed Away From The WB For A While Till I Saw The Season 4 Trailer Of Smallville Which Saw Erica Durance's Lois Lane Arriving On The Series Which Led Me To Finally Say, Okay I'll Give This Series A Shot And I Watched It Throughout The Rest Of The Series Run...
I Managed To Get Seasons 1-3 As A Christmas Gift And I Caught Up To The Point I Knew What Was Going On, And To Tell You The Truth I'm Glad I Started Watching During Season 4 Because That's When Things Got Interesting They Brought In The Fortress Of Solitude And Other Superheroes And Supervillains Including Aquaman, Brainiac, And Green Arrow, Whose Actor Would Move On To The Cry Show Known As This Is Us, But Would Get A Better Series After Smallville Ended (Despite Some Protests)
But We'll Talk About That Series And The Series That Came From It After We're Done Talking About Smallville...
And We're Going To Start Our Look At Smallville Off By Talking About The Pilot...
The Episode Gives Us Everything We Need To Know To Be Interested In Watching The Show Including The Origin Story We All Know, How Clark Met Lex And A Few Other Things That Were Done Better Here Than They Were In The DCEU...
God Knows I Can Name 1 Scene...
But Is This Series As Great As The Arrowverse? Let's Find Out As We Watch The Pilot Of Smallville...
The Episode Starts As Meteors From The Planet Krypton Arrive In The Orbit Of Earth With The Spaceship Of Kal-El (Who Would Become Clark Kent) In Tow And It's Then We Cut To The Town Of Smallville , Otherwise Known As The Creamed Corn Capital Of The World
As We See Jonathan And Martha Kent (Played By Superman 3's Annette O'Toole And The Dukes Of Hazzard's John Schneider) Who Are Visiting Nell Potter, The Local Flower Shop Owner Who Is Looking After Her Niece, Lana Lang, Dressed In A Fairy Princess Costume...
Boy, That Actress Who Played Young Lana Is Gonna Be Going Places...
Tumblr media
That's Right, It's Miranda Cosgrove, Otherwise Known As ICarly And Gru's Oldest Daughter, Margo In The Despicable Me Trilogy
Tumblr media
Meanwhile At The Ross Creamed Corn Factory, We See A Young Lex Luthor With His Father Lionel (Played By John Glover, Who Is No Stranger To The DC Universe, Having Voiced The Riddler In Batman: The Animated Series And Played Dr. Jason Woodrue In Joel Schumacher's Batman And Robin) Anyway As Lionel Tries To Make A Deal With The Rosses, Lex Goes Looking Through The Cornfield, Eventually Hearing Noises...
Tumblr media
No, It's Not The Disembodied Voice Of God, But It Is A Boy With An S On His Chest, Stripped Down To His Skivies, But We'll Talk About Him Later...
As The Meteors Start Crashing, One Hits The Field Where Lex And The Boy Are, Another Hits Lana's Parents Car Killing Them Instantly And Another Causes The Kent's Car To Crash...
Finding Lex In The Cornfield, Lionel Finds Him Okay, But His Hair Is Completely Gone. Coming To After The Crash, The Kents Soon Find They're Not Alone....
Well, At Least His Weiner Isn't Out Like The Kid In The Original Superman Movie...
With Little Kal-El Finding Them, The Kents Decide To Find His Parents Only For Them To Realize That He's Not From Around Here...
Taking Him In, A Few Years Pass As Young Kal-El Is Now Known As Clark Kent, A Moody Teen In High School Who Wants To Join The Football Team, But Can't Because Of His Abilities Who Is Now Played By Tom Welling...
On His Way To School, Clark Misses His Bus Which Forces Him To Use His Super Speed Abilities To Get To School On Time, And It's There We Meet 2 Of Clark's Friends, Chloe Sullivan (Played By Alison Mack) Who Would Remain On The Show Till Season 10 (Where She Would Appear In Only A Few Episodes) And Pete Played By Sam Jones The Third (Who Would Leave During Season 3 But Would Come Back In One Episode In Season 7) Anyway, Turns Out Pete's The One Who Convinced Clark To Join The Football Team (This Time) As They're Trying To Avoid Becoming This Years "Scarecrow"...
Seeing Lana Lang, Played By Kristen Kreuk, Clark Tries To Go Over To Talk With Her But He Ends Up Tripping Because Of Her Necklace....
A Few Minutes Later, Lana's Jock Boyfriend, Whitney Fordman (Played By Eric Johnson) Comes In To Take Lana To Class...
We Then Cut To Inside Smallville High As We See The Kid From Earlier...
You Know That Had An S On His Chest, Was Stripped Down To His Skivies And Was Supposedly Killed?
Well, He's Back...With Vengeance Apparently As He Breaks A Trophy Case To Grab A Picture...
After School, Clark Heads To A Bridge Where He Is Run Over By A Porsche, Driven By Lex Luthor (Played By Michael Rosenbaum) Not Hurt Because Of His Powers, Clark Saves Lex, Beginning Their Long If Not Complicated Friendship Turned Rivalry...
Hearing About The Accident, Jonathan Goes To Check On Clark Where He Meets The Person Who Ran Him Over...
Sound Advice From A Person Who Jumps His Car Over Things
Tumblr media
That Night, Clark Spies On Lana As Whitney Comes Over To Spend Time With Lana Only To Hear From Her Aunt Is Friends With Lex Luthor...
Giving Whitney Her Necklace For Luck, We Discover That The Kryptonite In It Is Made From The Meteor That Killed Lana's Parents....
That's....Just.....Sick!
What Kind Of Person Would Give Someone A Necklace Out Of The Thing That Killed That Person's Parents? A Person Who's Sick, Inhumane And Out Of Their Mind That's Who. I Mean, Imagine If Alfred Made Young Bruce Wayne A Ring Out Of The Bullets That Killed Is Parents? How Would He Feel? Would He Love It? Or Be Just Disgusted? I'd Be Disgusted Enough To Vomit..,
Meanwhile, Scarecrow Kid Visits One Of The Jocks In The Picture Who's Now A Car Mechanic, Played By Steve Bacic, Who Would Return To Smallville In Season 9 As Vordigan, The Dark Archer Who's Basically Malcolm Merlin Without The Wit And Humor Of John Barrowman...
He Also Cameoed As Hank McCoy Otherwise Known As Beast In X2 But I Doubt That That Hank McCoy Was Actually Beast But Just Some Guy That Had The Same Name, Pin It To Coincidence!
Tumblr media
The Next Day After School, Clark Returns Home To Find A Gift From Lex...
Jonathan Tells Clark That He Can't Keep The Truck Because Of Something He Did Out Of The Goodness Of His Heart, True. But The DVD Version Goes Further Into This As Jonathan Talks About A Deal That Lionel Luthor Made With 2 Friends Of Theirs, Mr. Guy And Mr. Bell Giving Them Flashy Gifts Once They Agreed To Sign And That When It Went South, They Were Evicted From Their Homes. Which In Turn Makes It Look Like That Jonathan Is Not Trying To Teach Clark A Lesson But He Won't Let Him Keep It Because Of His Hatred For The Luthors, Which Is First Shown Here...
Pissed Off, Clark Goes Upstairs Before Jonathan Says....
Deciding To Tell Clark The Truth, Jonathan Shows Clark A Metal Piece With Words In Kryptonian Language...
Taking Him To The Basement, Clark Starts Freaking Out...
Running Into Lana At The Cemetery, She Introduces Clark To Her Parents..
Now, If You're Making A Tim Allen Questionable Grunt, Just Watch...
Tumblr media
Now I Know There Are Many Ways That People Mourn And Grieve A Loved One's Death And I'm Not Saying That A Person Can't Mourn And Grieve, It's Just That I Know The Difference Between Mourning And Grieving And A Person That Belongs In The Happy Padded Room And That's What This Is...
Only Thing I Can Say Is Thank God She Grows Out Of This...
Walking Lana Home From The Cemetery, Lana Says She's Going To The Dance With Whitney, But She'll Save Him A Dance. But Unbeknownst To Both Of Them, They Were Being Watched By Whitney...
Tumblr media
The Next Day, Clark Returns The Truck To Lex At His Mansion That Was Previously Owned By The X-Men And Stephen Amell As He Walks In On Lex In The Middle Of A Fencing Lesson..
And Here I Noticed Another Scene Of Relevance From The DVD Version Is Gone As Lex Goes Into How Lionel Bought The Castle In Scotland And Shipped It To Smallville, Which Would Become Important In A Later Season Of Smallville, Damn It!
Talking To Lex, He Tells Lex That The Reason He Can't Keep The Car Is Because He's Just Not Into His Dad Which Makes The Scene With Jonathan From The DVD Version More Important As With That Scene In It It Makes That Line Make More Sense As Clark Would Probably Get That Jonathan Just Doesn't Like Lionel Where Without It, It Just Doesn't Make Sense...
Meanwhile, Chloe And Pete Visit The Crime Scene Where Another Former Jock Has Been Killed By Scarecrow Boy Who Chloe Gets A Picture Of So She Can Deduce His Identity At School...
Reuniting With Clark, They Tell Him That Scarecrow Boy's Real Name Is Jeremy Creek Who Had Escaped From The State Infirmary After Being In A Coma For 12 Years, Suffering From Massive Electrolyte Imbalance...
Taking Clark To The Back Room, They Introduce Him To Chloe's Pet Project, The Wall Of Weird, Which Would Remain On The Show Till Season 4 When Everyone Graduates From Smallville High...
Seeing Young Lana On The Wall, Clark Runs Off Believing Lana's Parents Death Was His Fault, However, He Is Soon Confronted By Whitney, Who Has Chosen Him As This Years Scarecrow...
Placing Lana's Necklace On Him, They Place Clark In A Truck Where They Do The Same Thing The Former Jocks Did To Jeremy Years Ago....
Confronted By Jeremy, He Tells Clark That He Did What He Did To Get Them To Stop The Scarecrow Tradition But Seeing That It Didn't Work He's Moving Now To Plan B...
Driving Home From Work, Lex Sees Jeremy For A Second Before He Disappears, Hearing Clark's Cries For Help Shortly After...
Untying Clark, Lana's Necklace Falls Off Clark, Returning Him To Full Strength As He Races Off To Get A Change Of Clothes Before Going After Jeremy At The School...
Tossing Jeremy Into A Car Proves To Be A Bad Move, As He Uses His Electric Powers To Turn It On To Try To Run Over Clark, Which Proves To Be Futile Too As Jeremy Crashes Into A Wall...
With His Powers Backfiring On Him, Clark Pulls Jeremy Out Of The Car Only For Him To Have No Memory Whatsoever...
A Funny Scene In This That Is Not In This But Is On The DVD Version Is Clark Getting Revenge On Whitney By Placing Every Single Car In The Parking Lot On Top Of His Truck, Funny But Not As Overkill As Zach Snyder's Version Of This Scene In Man Of Steel...
Returning To The Kent Farm, We See Another Scene From The DVD Version That's Not Here Is Just A Scene With Jonathan And Clark Where They Talk And Apologize To The Point He Says That He's Happy That Him And His Mom Found Him And Jonathan Says To Clark That They Didn't Find Him But HE Found Them, God, Why Did They Take Out Those Scenes...
Anyway, We Do Have The Episode End By Having Clark Look At Lana's Only To Visit Him To Give Him That Dance She Promised Him....
But It's All In Clark's Imagination....
And That's The Pilot Of Smallville And Despite All The Stuff They Took Out, It's Okay But With Them, It's Pretty Good...
The Story For The Episode Is Good, The Characters Are Well Written, The Villain Is Okay While Not The Greatest He At Least Had A Reason For What He Was Doing It Was All Around A Good Episode Of The Series And I Say See It...
Till Next Time, This Is Duke, Signing Off...
