GRAND PRAIRIE REPORTBACK: Antifascists, including the Elm Fork John Brown Gun Club, protected a drag show in Grand Prairie, TX. from the armed nazi gangs and assorted transphobes that showed up to attack it last night. For much of the evening, the nazis/transphobes were outnumbered and literally outgunned and had to content themselves with flying nazi flags and shouting slurs, death threats, and obscenities. 2/2 I've been asking Covid cautious community members why they are masking in 2024? These are just some of the answers. All answers are anonymous for privacy reasons and some have been edited for clarity/spacing reasons. It's never too late to start wearing a respirator regularly if you aren't doing so now. Why do you mask?

PDX Respirator Repository

Amanda Abbott created a spreadsheet with a lot of data on 60+ different elastomerics. There is no standardization as each manufacturer has their own sizing charts. So if you are looking for a new mask or looking to upgrade your PPE, there's now information on measurements.

There are even information on whether or you can create 3D-printed covers for the filters and paint the mask(s) to remain stylish during the creeping apocalypse.

If you live in or near Portland, Oregon, you can also contact Amanda for test-fits since she has most of the models. The only way to know if something is COVID-safe is to try the masks on, but they are non-returnable.

reminder that from 1933-1937, the Columbia president, Dr. Nicholas Murray Butler (someone who had significant power as an academic and diplomat), refused to speak against Nazism. in 1933, just months after the book burnings, Butler invited Dr. Hans Luther, Nazi Germany's ambassador, to lecture on foreign policy at Columbia. Butler publicly expressed his respect for him.

for the past 36 hours, Columbia/Barnard students have rallied in front of the library named after Butler to protest the university's involvement in the genocide in Palestine. last night, Columbia president, Minouche Shafik, authorized the NYPD to arrest more than 100 peaceful protestors. Barnard president, Dr. Laura Rosenbury, suspended more than 50 students, giving them only 15 minutes to gather their items and leaving them unhoused at night in nyc.

no matter how much Columbia likes to pretend they support political freedom on campus, touting images of the 1968 Vietnam War protests as advertisements for their school, they are the enemy.

Support the CU/BC students who have spent years fighting for Palestine, who have sacrificed their education and housing to fight against injustice.

Fuck Minouche Shafik. Fuck Laura Rosenbury. Fuck Nicholas Butler. This school belongs to us.
