VOLTRON AU: THE HOUSES OF CARDS (Part 1?)

Way too many fucking ideas in my Klance notebook (Yes, I do have a notebook dedicated to Klance. Bite me.) and not enough time to write ANY of them. Exams are coming up so to anyone willing to read like 10 paragraphs worth of info-dumping about my newest idea.. here it is. Voltron. Beautiful, perfect, stunning already- BUT YOU ADD GAMBLING TO IT (yes, I know what you're already going to say. Fuck off, my hyper fixations are mixing and I love it.) I call it the “THE HOUSES OF CARDS AU” BECAUSE BECAUSE!!

It's basically going to be like- almost Harry Pottery in the sense that everyone is going to be attending some sort of magic/fighting school that offers gambling clubs (not just to gamble all their wealth) but to enhance their skills in reading people, manipulation, sleight of hand, etc etc... everything you would need if you were.. let's say A SPY? (I'm kidding)

But this information is probably pointless to you, you wanna know who in the Voltron crew would be in each house, huh? I can read right through you, you lying bastard (/j) anyway. I'll reveal that in another post along with why, in my AU, they would be perfect or well-suited (Aha-) for that house.

Anyways, The houses in this world are more metaphorical. They aren't exactly actually houses they can go in and explore and shit- they are manifestations of each personality we can only see if we dig deeper into the character.

Each house gives the character selected within it a certain skill set where they get to learn and improve their existing (or only discovering) skills. The houses provide powers too, such as conjuration, healing, protection, and all the other good shits. Of course, wouldn't be me if I didn't think of any angst-worthy material...

Each house has also a drawback depending on the character. Not physically but more so mentally, like how a character with so much potential may think they are less than equal in their abilities to other people. Or how a physically aggressive character who really imagined themselves being a fighter or a defender but gets to deal with the fact they were sorted into a more passive house... and then realizing just why they were sorted there and how it actually is perfect for them.

Anyways, This is my interpretation of the whole system:

Spade [♠️] is the House of Protectors. But that's not to say that they are only good for the defensive side, in fact, a lot of Spades are actually more sensitive and emotionally centered as the house often represents Death and Rebirth. But they are also very wise, often the winter season or the water element is associated with them. They're often just seen as a meat shield or a first-attacker which is quite sad as they are usually the ones that are the most scared of death, being so closely affiliated with it. But it isn't their own life they are afraid of but rather the lives of the people they care about, the ones around them, this is why they are often seen as the protectors.

Diamond [♦️] is the House of Thinkers; the analytical ones, the planners. Often seen as the book-smart ones. Skilled in games of wits, strategy, and intelligence—but not only that, as the house that represents wealth, prosperity, ethics, and stability, they are often the more critical ones. Not only to others but to themself, they often appear arrogant or narcissistic to other people as they know how smart they are though when you get to them truly, they are some of the best people. Associated with autumn or fall along with the element of air.

Club [♣️] is the House of Leaders. A good leader is but a good follower; one knows to be able to lead is to be able to follow. Clubs are often picked as the leaders of any group due to their abilities, despite most of them lacking faith in themselves, they have potential yet push that aside for someone else. They represent power and authority yet do not know how to use that to the best of their advantage. Represented by the summer season and the earth element.

Heart [♥️] is the House of Healers. Now, you may be asking: “Zeph, why the hell are Hearts the healers? is this some sort of biology joke?” I assure you, the only joke here is your face. Anyways, the House of Healers is the house of, duh, healers. But not just physical ones. Hearts represent feelings, emotions; love. Shit, that's not only something you could feel physically but you can feel emotionally and psychologically. Just because they may seem to be the “good ones” doesn't mean they won't use psychology and analysis to get what they want from you. They're seen as the healers, not just because of the power that they get from the house but also the fact they can tell if someone around them needs more help than they realize; they are emotionally intelligent to others, but not to themselves. Often are more lonely than they actually show. They are represented by the element of fire and the season of spring. The whole thing actually revolves more around the idea that despite the houses giving new abilities to the ones that live underneath the moniker, they are also suffering through the expectations people around them would have specifically because they are in that house to begin with. Spades are usually seen as brutes, tanks; “whatever you throw at them, they'll be okay” mentality. Diamonds are relied on to be the smart ones, the responsible ones, the ones that keep all the chaos in check and makes sure that everything goes perfectly. This causes them to have severe perfectionism, thinking if nothing is perfect then they've failed their job. Clubs.. they are expected to be good leaders from the start. In rare instances, this isn't the case and that makes people believe that that person has been falsely sorted into the wrong house, both making them think they are undeserving of having the powers of a Club and also making them even more anxious in leading situations. And finally, Hearts. Often seen as weak and empathic; they are looked down upon just because they are healers. “Even if one does need a healer in battle, they won't do much.” That kind of talk and stories often break a Heart's psyche down, they believe they are only the ones that heal the heroes; not the heroes themselves despite saving thousands.

SEASON 8 WAS GREAT (and awful at the same time, I still love it)

I like the ways we see everyone interacting with the Garrison crew again, but I loved the Klance moments.. especially the sunset scene.

This post is some Shakespearean shit and I love it.

As much as i hate and reject the s8-post cannon… i can’t deny one of my favourite klance tropes occurs during that span of time.

Lance waking up cold and sweating in the middle of the night, trapped in a mundane life, aching with years of unresolved trauma and dormant adrenaline.

Something in his body just knows. That this isn’t right. When his friends told him to give himself time, that adjusting to normality wouldn’t be easy, he’d laughed. Adapting is what he does. But he’s not normal, how could he possibly be normal after everything that happened to him?

He thinks back to a time when all he wanted was a quiet life like this. But it’s hollow, and he feels more alone than he ever did when they were trapped in space. It’s not some grand realisation, really. But a quiet, resolved awakening. A primal acknowledgment that snags his soul to heel.

It was always him. (I told you so).

Keith is passing through his system, dark clad and steaming with resolve. A man who knows himself, truly. Who did the hard parts of personal growth while Lance was still pretending to be happy. Keith was forged in fire and suffering, but Lance’s suffering had only gained him grief.

And Keith answers when he calls. Lance’s heart pulses, aches more than just for his face. But for his life. He finds himself insurmountably jealous of Keith. And he finds himself utterly foolish for ever trying to hold him back. When he left Voltron, and when he came back. Everything in between. Keith made hard decisions, took impossibly dangerous leaps of faith, put everyone he loved at risk and thrust his own life into god’s hands like some fucked up sort of yo-yo.

Lance answers the doorbell when it rings. And he’s there. He could scream until his face went numb, drown himself alone in the dark, run to the tethered edges of the known universe - but he would never escape Keith. The bond their lions shared, neither pilot would ever be untangled. A sore mess, flashes of red, black and blue. He sees the lion for a moment, flashing in the back of his mind’s eye. Keith became the most formidable leader he’d ever known.

And they take vacations down to sample that countryside living, sure. When it suits them. But Lance and Keith, neck and neck, could never have been normal.

And they could never have been apart.

For my Overlord Angel au I wanted to keep that kind of enemies to lovers, where at the start of their relationship Angel keeps being fake and putting on a mask he created due to thinking he's not as powerful as the other overlords, Wich annoys husk bc he sees right through him (as always) but then one day husk sees Angel defend one of his workers.

he does not stand people being rude to them because most are former sex workers, friends and people that suffered and he took under his protection, that now considers family. And he is VERY overprotective with his family.

Angel wreaks that bitch. My boy husk? Instantly fell. He fell HARD.
