i added some botanicals to the tank.. leaves, cork bark, and seed pods that the crabs can hide in 🦀 also i've had the water running all day without the water heater plugged in, and the temps are perfect! 26-27 degrees in the lower water section and 27-28 degrees at the top pooling area.

the LED light bar (arcadia jungle dawn) that i have on the tank seems to heat up the pooling area nicely, which is heating up all the water as it cycles. so we'll see if i'll ever need to plug in the heater 🤷‍♀️

my albino kribensis died tonight :( I'm still looking into it, I'll put like test details and stuff in the tags, I'm so at a loss....i found him probably minutes within death because i check on them so often. was going around saying goodnight to tanks before lights out and found him. super super bummed. it was barely more than a week but i really liked him...

Going back down South is great because the water is delicious and full of minerals but then I go back to Manchester and am immediately convinced that I'm being poisoned.

Definitely being careful! The good news is the guys were laying the new floors down on top of the asbestos tile so it wasn’t ‘disturbed’ and they didn’t remove anything (which according to the inspector is 95% of the time what they do - removing it is dangerous and specialized work; covering it is generally safe). After that, I mopped and swept and dusted repeatedly over the course of about 5 hours, as dust settled, to make sure it was all cleaned up. BUT I did give him a wipedown bath, just in case. Tiny kitty lungs are sensitive. <3
