That is one of several requirements of employes of the new water filtration plant on Lemieux Island. It is a sanitation measure, according to W. E. MacDonald, city waterworks engineer, who also says that smoking is strictly prohibited in the plant. Men working on the three daily eight-hour shifts must take a shower bath before going on-duty. Locker rooms equipped with shower baths have been installed in the plant for the use of the employes. 

The no-smoking rule must be strictly observed, Mr. MacDonald stated to The Citizen. The engineer was considerably annoyed yesterday when he discovered that some of the visitors to the plant had been smoking and threw their burnt matches Into the big mixing tanks, through which the river water passes before going on to the sand filters. 

Last evening three infants had the distinction of being the first in the city to be baptised in the filtered water. The baptisms took place in Fourth Avenue Baptist church.

I have a rude as hell head cannon for Astarion v Cazador.

One of the vampire weaknesses that's briefly mentioned in Astarion's dialogue is the ability to walk through or over moving water. This isn't a super common thing but it's not new.

Here is the problem with that, Baldur's Gate has a robust sewer system. I know I've been to it. Which means he's walked over moving water many, many, many, times and has been fine.

I think Cazador lied so none of his spawn would cross the bridge out of Baldur's Gate. This would essentially trap them within the city and dash any hopes of escape. I also suspect he had to compel them not to do anything that might get them killed. So you can add that.

im just reserving judgment on the live action atla at this point, like jesus fuck

it's obviously not gonna be a one to one adaption. frankly i'd be mad if it was. but they're also changing details in the character arcs, which, despite fandom outrage, isn't a BAD thing provided they keep consistent with their own changes and create a good internal narrative. these are gonna be different characters, which is fine. maybe a little disappointing, but literally what did we expect? mostly im just hoping that the narrative they present is solid and the character arcs they devise are well written

the changes that they've made feel strange, but it isnt fuckin doomsday. there's no one right way to write any story. atla has its own problems, and you know there are drafts that got tossed that would've been completely serviceable directions for the original show to take, they just didn't. atla la taking a different route doesn't mean it'll be a bad narrative, just that it'll bother our need for nostalgic accuracy. and even if it's a bad adaption (changes too much, alters the impact or feel of the story), it could still be a good narrative.

GRANTED this all doesn't mean netflix is gonna make a good show. they are hit or miss, and adaptions are tricky. honestly ive kind of resigned myself to being disappointed at this point. and even if it is good, that doesn't mean that everyone has to like it. it's an entirely different medium, and that's reason enough to avoid it

Oh ho ho ho, I have SEEN it bestie. It's always on the front of the page because of how often it's updated. I haven't blocked that creator YET on a03, but I have blocked a few others for this issue. This fandom is chock full of incest and pedophilia content, more than I've seen in a while. I really do not understand this. I said it before and I'll say it again; incest, pedophilia, and rape/non con content in a fetkishitic way should not exist. There is no valid reason for it.

I had an MFA professor say to me once that content like that should only be included in a piece if you are making a statement about it. I think that's a great point, but I would stand to go a tad farther; if your work is to excuse content like that, then it shouldn't exist. It's incredibly harmful, especially in a minor filled space like fanfiction.
