I had some lingering anxiety about SPN having their last day of filming and the awful ‘Where’s Misha’ game we’ve all been involuntary been drafted into playing. So I channeled that energy into some gumshoe detective work/obsessive stalking. (Seriously, my husband asked me what I was doing, I told him and he literally made this face 😬) I have tracked Misha’s timeline down from the end of July till now, and I think I have come to the following conclusions.
Possible timeline:
Misha quarantines from 8/3-8/17 based on his “hotel” like surroundings (maybe production wanted them all quarantining at same time?)
Misha films somewhere between 8/24-8/28 and then goes home for weekend and then goes to camping trip from 9/2-9/9
OR Misha films from 8/24- 9/1, then goes on camping trip from 9/2-9/9
So if you want to follow my obsessive musings, my timeline created from social media combined with dates from filming look under the cut. Beware, evidence of a complete lack of a life ahead.
Tumblr media
7/30- Misha Livestream with Michael Sheen (he’s definitely at home)
81/-8/8- GISH
8/2- J2 start quarantine
8/3- Misha Possible start to quarantine?
8/4- Sing along with Kansas (live)/Conversation with Corey Booker (taped-Misha references taking to Corey in the Kansas vid)- Misha in “hotel”
8/6- Instagram post that looks “southwest-y” (I think previously taken, the post was about America being a great country)
8/8- Creation panels in “hotel”
8/15- London Comic Con interview in “hotel” (weekend)
8/17- Two weeks since first appearance in “hotel” - could mark end of quarantine
8/18- Filming starts for episode 19
8/19- Andrew Yang livestream in “hotel,” Yang mentions he is staying with someone
9/19-8/25 (5 days plus weekend) Filming of scene 28 in ep 19. I think this is the scene by the lake where Cas dies in season 13
8/21- Misha’s birthday, not on set according to him
8/23- Misha posts a picture of his daughter/later a story about her (weekend). Is this 2nd hand/previously taken photo?
8/25- Message for Sam Smith, filmed in “hotel”
8/26- Misha tweets picture of his son and a letter he mailed with Vicki’s feet in the shot, I think she took it. Makes sense he would mail a letter from Canada.
8/28- Filming starts for episode 20, Misha tweets story about Maison (2nd hand?)
8/29- Misha posts rainbow pic (weekend)
9/2-9/4- Filming of scene 28 for episode 20
9/3- Misha posts mountain pic, fans think its Grand Tenton National Park
9/5- Misha posts a pic of Maison at home (weekend)
9/10- Last day of filming, Misha definitely at home with lots of scruff
I have “hotel” in quotes, because I’m not sure where he was, but not at home, but those same blank walls and nondescript landscape paining all are commonalities.
It makes sense to me that Warner Brothers would want anyone who filmed 19-20 to quarantine at the same time for liability reasons- they can verify legally where they all were, which explains that gap in filming. Then get them out of there as soon as they can to save $
Don’t take this too seriously, I’m not party to any inside info or know things for sure, this is just what a restless mind put together.
I think they could have done some overlap filming for logistical COVID reasons, which is why “scene 28″ is referenced. Its pretty dang rare for a show like SPN to film a scene over that amount of days, so it could be “code” for filming for multiple eps

Animaniacs: The Trip (part 1)
A/N: If you want a good explanation for this story, I highly recommend you skip to the very end on part 3. Otherwise, I am so… so sorry.
Both Dot and Yakko patiently sat at the kitchen table, watching their red-capped middle sibling add a tiny umbrella to top off the glowing concoction before them. It was red and chunky, had visible bits of peppers and clams. It was non-alcoholic, as far as they knew. And it was being served in an enormous pitcher. Normally, they would have steered clear of Wakko's 'food inventions' as he called them, but this one actually looked somewhat appetizing once. Plus it helped they had nothing else to do at the moment.
Wakko beamed with pride as he introduced it to them.
"Sibs! The Mississippi Queen! The hottest drink in the world!"
The other two Warners looked at each other before looking back at him. They already knew where he'd gotten the idea.
"You've been binging on the Regular Show again, have you?" Dot responded flatly.
"Isn't that the show with those weird creature critters?" Yakko asked.
"That's South Park" Wakko defended.
"There's a difference?" Dot interjects.
"Sure, ones for adults and ones for kids who think they're adults." Yakko said, sniffing the connection. "Not gonna lie, this smells good."
"Its got everything in it" Wakko agreed before he listed off all the ingredients he recalled from a memory of the episode of that show. "Kimchi, Wasabi, Pasta Sauce, Sashimi, Chuco, Soy Sauce, Season Salt, Bath Salts, Clamshells, Shrimp, Mayo, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and a little bit of lemon..."
"What, no hot sauce?" Dot asked.
"Nah we were out, so I added cinnamon instead. Can you believe Scratchy wouldn't let me make some for Plotz's banquet last night? It would have really livened things up," said Wakko.
"I can, our special friends are not exactly daring when it comes to party favors," Yakko responded.
"Aw, a little weirdness and zaniness never hurt anyone" Dot added.
"Except that Link cosplayer at Comic-Con last year" Yakko interjected.
"Hey, that guy was asking for it! He knew better than to call me Dottie!"
Wakko proceeded to pour the pitcher into three tall drinking glasses, the red like delicacy stopped just half an inch below the rim of each one.
"But I agree. If our friends acted a lot like us, It would be lots more fun around here!" Wakko said before handed them their drinks. "So, ready to try it?"
Both Yakko and Dot picked up their glasses and slowly took their sips, letting the spicy scorching mush slide into their lips. In an instant, they slammed their glasses down on the table, literal flames cackling out their mouths with each and every cough.
"Well, it's not like it doesn't taste good," said Yakko. He pounded at his chest, his eyes watering.
"Lightweight" Dot scoffed.
"What are talking about? You can't handle it too!"
"I'm the cutest and the youngest, I'm not supposed to. That's your job, big brother"
"I resent that sis!"
"Aw, you two are both lightweights!" Wakko countered, his own lips were still smoking from the heat. He'd barely reacted at all from tasting the drink. "I bet you guys won't chug it all down in one go!
The other two looked at him with a stern glare as they gripped their glasses.
"Challenge…" Yakko said.
"…accepted" Dot added. All three of them raised their glasses high, tipping them so the drink aimed towards their lips. Each of the Warners faces beamed with confidence as they predicted who would win this competition.
"One, two, three… go!" Wakko cheered right before they did it.
And it was at that moment, the Warners knew they made a terrible mistake.

Dawson is also known for having several roles in comic book adaptations. These include Gail in Sin City (2005) and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014), providing the voices of Diana Prince / Wonder Woman in the DC Animated Movie Universe and Barbara Gordon / Batgirl in The Lego Batman Movie, as well as her portrayal of Claire Temple in five of the Marvel/Netflix series: Daredevil (2015–2016), Jessica Jones (2015), Luke Cage (2016–2018), Iron Fist and The Defenders (both 2017).
Early life
Dawson was born on May 9, 1979, in New York City. Her mother, Isabel Celeste, is of Cuban and Puerto Rican ancestry. Isabel was 16 years old when Rosario was born; she never married Rosario's biological father, Patrick C. Harris. When Rosario was a year old, her mother married Greg Dawson, a construction worker. Dawson has a half-brother, Clay, who is four years younger.
Isabel and Greg sublet their 199 Avenue A apartment to Paul de Rienzo and moved their family into a reclaimed building after being approved by the 544 East 13 Street residents on the Lower East Side of Manhattan as members of a affordable housing plan. During that time Rosario and Clay would also grow up in Texas. Dawson has cited this part of her history when explaining how she learned that, "If you wanted something better, you had to do it all yourself."
Career
As a child, Dawson made a brief appearance on Sesame Street. At the age of 15, she was subsequently discovered on her front-porch step by photographer Larry Clark and Harmony Korine, where Korine lauded her as being perfect for a part he had written in his screenplay that would become the controversial 1995 film Kids. She went on to star in varied roles, ranging from independent films to big budget blockbusters including Rent, He Got Game and Men in Black II.
In 1998, Dawson teamed up with Prince for the re-release of his 1980s hit "1999". In the autumn of 2005, Dawson appeared on stage as Julia in the Public Theater's "Shakespeare in the Park" revival of Two Gentlemen of Verona. It was her first appearance on stage.
In the film adaptation of the popular musical Rent in 2005, she played the exotic dancer Mimi Marquez, replacing Daphne Rubin-Vega, who was pregnant and unable to play the part. She also appeared in the adaptation of the graphic novel Sin City, co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, portraying Gail, a prostitute-dominatrix. Also in that year, she appeared in a graphically violent scene in the Rob Zombie film The Devil's Rejects. Though the scene was cut from the final film, it is available in the deleted scenes on the DVD release.
She starred as Becky in 2006's Clerks II, and mentioned in Back to the Well, the making-of documentary, that the donkey show sequence was what made her decide to take the role. In May of the same year, Dawson, an avid comic book fan, co-created and co-wrote the comic book miniseries Occult Crimes Taskforce. She was at the 2007 San Diego Comic-Con to promote the comic. She co-starred with former Rent alum Tracie Thoms in the Quentin Tarantino throwback movie Death Proof in 2007, part of the Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez double feature Grindhouse. She teamed up with friend Talia Lugacy, whom she met at the Lee Strasberg Academy, to produce and star in Descent. On July 7, 2007, Dawson presented at the American leg of Live Earth.

In 2015, she played Claire Temple in the Netflix web television series Daredevil, a role which she reprised in Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Dawson's likeness was also used in the Jessica Jones tie-in comic as her character on both shows. Dawson has continued this role in 2017 in Iron Fist and The Defenders. In praise of J2M’s handling of the decision to end Supernatural
Supernatural has always been special.  And the way that they managed the news of the shows ending is another example of the care and skill they bring to the Supernatural experience.  This decision could have rolled out in so many different ways or different times that would have been much more devastating. But it’s clear from start to finish, the boys deftly managed this announcement in expert fashion.  Long ass post - skim the bold for the gist.
Ways that showed careful attention to managing o this decision:
They unambiguously ending it versus the CW or the WB.   This is a victory for the show, for fandom, and for the boys.  And J2M didn’t just randomly make a decision. At some point this past year, they started to believe it was time to end.  But in order to make it a #SPNFamily choice they had to have some things fall in place and they had to time when they let people know in order for this to be a ‘choice’ rather than ‘cancellation’. Specifically:
They had to be renewed.  And renewed for 20 episodes.  This means the CW was prepared to continue at the ratings level they had achieved.  Once that happened, then J2M could take over the narrative.  Timing: renewal followed the traditional timeline of late January - which would give TPTB enough time to rewrite the last 4 episodes into a series finale if they needed to.  This has been a consistent pattern since S4.  The last time they totally flew off the cliff without a net was S3 (bless them!).
They needed to time when they told Dabb & Singer. I’m pretty sure they told Andrew around the 31st of January - when CW made the renewal announcement. Some have made a case that this decision happened earlier and Andrew’s absence on Nov 16th (300th party) was related to him hearing S15 was ‘the end’ news.   BUT I'm thinking they did not share - or maybe hadn't even cemented the idea yet.  First, it would really dampen the mood.  Second, they wanted renewal.  Any hint of hanging it up at that party would have been hard to keep quiet. Too much press.  Too much alcohol.  So, I can't totally get on board with a final decision at that point.  Even if the boys were seriously talking about the remotely sad -- so they weren’t certain they were going to end at that time. These guys are good actors but not robots.  I think it would have shown.  BUT Andrew had to know how to shape the last 4 episodes of S14 (again end of January).  Which means the boys would have provided him the information that they were going to wrap in S15 and he should target the last 24 episodes as supporting that eventuality about that time.
Either the CW was prepared to let the boys decide on duration or they waited til relatively the last minute so that the CW didn't restructure a shorter season.  I'm torn on this one.  Pedowitz has been respectful of the boys BUT there's definite bad blood on not picking up Wayward Sisters -- and the fan backlash. If Pedowitz did know early enough to weigh in on duration, he only did it for the boys.  Not the CW and not the fans.  He was visibly pissed at the fans backlash on Wayward Sisters.  And I'm 100% certain that him sticking the knife in the back of any other spin-off (which he did last fall by saying Supernatural is just the boys and he doesn't see another spin-off) is because Warner Brothers financial deal was not what he wanted.  Never underestimate the grudges that develop after failed negotiations (which is what the Wayward Sisters was -- it was all about the money).  So, I'm inclined to believe that Pedowitz knew before the announcement but not as quickly as Dabb and Singer did. The boys were more likely to hedge their bet here. THEY controlled the narrative by how they informed key players.
They strategically timed the public announcement - literally the DAY of the wrap party. This accomplishes two important things for the crew.
One, the crew WILL get new jobs but this gives them a full year to line up something new.  Some will jump early, some will jump no later than pilot season.  Others will go sporadically based on their intent. The point is that they have a rich portfolio to show and time to show it off to prospective bosses.
Second, they gave the cast and crew to have one big happy cry-off/celebration.  The boys both stayed this year - which hasn't been the case in a while.  The party was immediately after the announcement - which meant they could have the bulk of the crew there before they headed off to various summer activities. And some now won't come back (as they leap to other jobs).  So it was a maximum crew party.   If there's one thing I'm confident of, it's that J2 understands they hold the livelihoods of so many in their hands.  You really couldn't have asked for a better handling of the end announcement from a crew perspective.
They clearly informed key recurring cast members before they made the announcement. This is a fitting professional courtesy to a trusted few.  Especially the ones that were likely to come back on the show.  So Speight, Benedict, Rhodes, Buckmaster, Connell, Smith.  Those guys knew for sure.  And knew no later than SPNNash.  But maybe not much earlier.  If these people were going to get a pilot during pilot season, their recurring role wouldn't have stopped them.
Unambiguously, Misha was always part of the discussions IMO right from the jump.  He would have been engaged in the actual debate about what to do with J2 and when.  Because while it may be J2's show, Misha is IN that circle of trust.  He has a large dedicated fandom, he's got a huge international charity. And they just love him dearly.  Seriously, they ran a marathon cause he asked them to.  IMO if Misha needed more time, they would have given it to him.  But that's not Misha. He has zero sense of entitlement.
But this also lets the recurring cast have a private freak-out because the show IS likely their primary professional income stream.  Veterans like Benedict & Rhodes have already been taking other gigs but the conventions mean big dollars too.  It's a nice testament to their friendship that they told them personally and early.
I think JDM was the exception.  I think Jensen told him that this was a real possibility before he signed onto the 300th.  I don't think they had made the final decision that early (pre-Christmas) but they were leaning that way.
The timing and approach of the public announcement ALSO massively helps the the fandom - They truly care about fandom. They understand this is going to be actually life-changing hard for some. But with this timing/approach they optimized it as best they could with a staggered process.
We get four more episodes this year while we are 'actively engaged'.  Versus some announcement during Hellatus when there's less folks on line.  It shifts our view of the last four episodes.
It's done right before a massive con (SPNLV) where Jensen will sing (always a treat).  So it's really good pacing for us.  We get to react to the news and then hear MORE detail from them.  This is also the con that is broadcast via Stage-It.  Could be coincidence.  Maybe not.
It keeps Comic Con a celebration not a bummer.  We'll start to 'wind up' versus be crushed.
The announcement was a 1+1+2 strategy.  I don't know if they realized that. They said one positive (yay! S15), they got immediately to the bad news (it's the end), and then followed up with at least two positive statement (we're excited, this family doesn't go away).  Maybe it's instinct but it's a tried and true method.  (Full disclosure: 2+1+1 is the classic method, but I think they knew the jig would be up as soon as they started talking on the video so they ripped off the Band-Aid quickly).
All which leads me to the following speculation:
When they signed the S14/S15 contracts, they were prepared to walk away then.  It wasn't how they would want to end it, but they were going to prioritize family time.  Note: the timing of when they were 'asked back' was much later than I think they were hoping.  Based on things both Jared and Jensen said, I get the impression they were hoping to orchestrate the next two contracts earlier than Nov 17 (when they were 'asked back').  They had been talking 'mini-series' or other event-like content. I think understanding when/how they have leverage was informed by this relatively traditional November 'ask back' and this shaped how they went about the end announcement strategy.  But the 20 episode contracts with clearly more time off was both a necessity and a bit of a test -- would it hold up with that level of involvement?
I think they really expected Wayward Sisters to be picked up.  They thought crossovers with Wayward would help make a two-year transition smooth.  That they didn't get picked up, that Pedowitz crushed any spin-off hopes was significant in how they played the S15 decision.  Without Wayward, a S15 was necessary to give the crew time to land elsewhere IMO.  That also includes writers, producers, and recurring guests.  But the unexpected failure to pick up Wayward DID shift some storylines early in the season.  I think there is literally NOTHING left of Wayward tie-in after mid-season.  Except for a general "they exist in offscreenville' commitment.  As mentioned elsewhere Kathryn Newton was gonzo right away.  Yadira is on an Apple show with Jason Mamoa.  Kim has had guest appearances on other shows.  Briana has music going and probably actively looking for work for the last year.  The other 3 are back in the hopper, looking for acting gigs as far as I can tell. And I honestly think Berens still has a gaping chest wound from the loss of his hopes and dreams. I think Dabb has moved on but also feels the loss.  But without Wayward, the boys lost their structured soft ending for Supernatural. Maybe something pops up later (a special or movie) but that's dependent on how they end the series.  We won't know if it's even viable until 2020.
They are truly ready to move on.  They've been prepared since Nov 2017.  I think they were open to more (under the 20 episode, less time contract terms) but they sense "now" is the time.  It could be the storylines, it could be the fan reaction to their less involvement (which has been understanding but generally unhappy), and it could be a variety of things.  Unless they say something specifically about the ' why now', I think it's fair to say they didn't see enough momentum to make it extend. Hence the 'go out on a high note'.  I'll be shocked if they ever criticize anyone or any story specifically.
Bottom Line:  They brilliantly played the hand they were dealt.  It's so nice to be part of a fandom where the stars put such a priority on taking care of others.  It's why I buy in, completely, on the #SPNFamily concept.

Costuming on a budget
Hi everyone Galactic_Bug_Man here now for most of us there is a lot of nerd and geek conventions going on in a lot of areas around this time of year and other parts of the year. So here I am going to give you some of my tips and show you a few of my costumes that I have put together on a budget. Starting with my Star Trek one as you see here.
Tumblr media
This costume comes from my Star Trek fan fiction Captain’s character. This was a very cheap one to make for me because most of the stuff I already had but I did go along and buy a lot of the pieces. This was taken outside my old house during the 2016 Dallas Fan Expo before with left the house to go on this day (Above)
Now for this costume I used an old pair of black jeans, my brother’s old orchestra slip on dress shoes, the Phaser I bought online for about ten dollars or so it was very inexpensive, the rank pips on the right side of the shirt are not really official ranks pins at all they're actually rare earth magnets held on to my shirt with my Texas Master Naturalist badge backing. Sometimes you just have to be creative and use what you got not to break your bank. I got the communicator badge for about 20 bucks at my first comic con. The shirt I bought at a clearance rack at Kohl’s for about a few dollars and it is really comfortable. So many of these things you can get for under ten bucks if you know were too look. As you can see I didn’t add the red shirt to do my division color which for this character it is red like TNG or DS9 or Voy. this is shirt is very close to the off duty uniform that Captain Jean Luc Picard would wear sometimes in scenes where he is playing is Rusikan Flute and sometimes he would wear an open jacket on the bridge and underneath he would have this style of shirt. The red shirt is absent in the first shot but in the shot below I have it. I got this shirt at Michael’s for a few bucks on their DIY tee shirt aisle. In the shot below I am wearing a pair of slacks I bought in between events. The belt was found during holiday Christmas clearance at Target for a few bucks. How I made the latch buckle look like a Starfleet belt was I printed off a small Black and White emblem which I made myself on Power Point and printed it off and then used some really good clear tape to put it on there. The one above was colored but the one on the bottom was back and white.
Tumblr media
Sometimes it is just knowing where to look. Always check out clearance items or discount stores you get really lucky sometimes. My brother went to an old store once last year to make a costume for our high school pre-graduation party which was called Bahama Bash. I graduated a long time ago but he was just about to graduate and he went as Donkey Kong. They had a jacket that was brown for about three or four bucks, they also had a nice pair of brown pants for a little more I think. The most expensive things we had to buy were the material for his gorilla chest, and the batting for his muscular look. I don’t have pictures of that costume because it is all packed away but just getting setting a budget can really help you if you are a nerd that is tight on money. I prefer using what I have but sometimes you have to try and make it look good. That is why I bought the Combadge at full price but the Magnets I got with coupons. Sometimes coupons to craft stores and things are great and that is what a lot of us cosplayers do. No I am not a sewer but I have made a prop for this costume from some of the leftover fake fur we used for my brother’s DK costume.
Tumblr media
I made a Tribble to go along with my costume for a couple of events. We had a halloween event on our campus that I went to. We had a costume contest and I just decided to put this puffball together one night. It was kind of fun to make it and it was a good use of some of the left overs. If you are doing a Star Trek costume and have stuff like this you can easily make it yourself. For tribbles there are tons of templates online and sites that give you instructions. I made this one using another blog site. Instructables also has stuff like this and looks really fun to put together.
So clearance, coupons, using leftovers, sometimes just using what you have are great ways to get started on you cosplay journey. There have only been a couple of costumes that I have had that were fully sewn and that was my first Luke Skywalker Costume when I was younger. My grandmother made the Jedi shirt, belt, and pants for me as well as the shoe covers to make them look like boots. So that was pretty costly to do. I also had to by a lightsaber which didn’t cost me too much it was just one of those hold down and flick out ones it was not one that lit up or made noise even though I did have one of those but I didn’t have one at the time.
For the last few years now my campus has had an Anime Convention and Nerd con of sorts so this year my brother and I are going to check it out. And this year I am going to go as a Starfleet officer again but I am also going to go as one of my favorite characters from one of my favorite cartoons.
Tumblr media
Since Animaniacs seems to be coming out with a couple of more seasons in an updated form coming to Hulu in 2020 I decided to make a Yakko Warner Cosplay. It seems to be the road less traveled I don’t see a lot of Animanicas at cons but I have seen a few people cosplay as them so I deiced to try and do my own style while trying not to break my bank fully. Still using coupons and things but I also had a few items that I had in my possession and somethings I bought on the cheap end.
Tumblr media
Okay so here we have the red nose, the belt buckle, and the headband with ears. The headband I got at the Dollar store. On it I bought some enlarged pipe cleaners to make the ears and they were on the kid’s craft Aisle at Michaels. I buy a lot of my stuff from either Jo-Ann’s or Michael’s depending on who has the best deals at the time. The red nose I had when I had to have my kidney operated on I got a red nose from one of the volunteers at the children’s hospital when I had my left left kidney operated on after years of scar tissue built up after being born with an enlarged kidney and after years of chronic infection. It is okay I got that taken care but that is where the nose came from so it was free. The belt buckle was made from foam board and I colored it with a yellow sharpie.
Now you might be thinking where is the hair for my costume. It is kind of funny but my hair line is receding just a little bit and when you put the middle part down my hair does what Yakko’s and his siblings does. It is kind of funny but hey that means I can just go with my natural hairline and natural hair. Sometimes you have to go with it and have fun. Me I am one of those that likes to roll with it and laugh at myself. That is all you can do sometimes.
Tumblr media
These are my slacks and tail. As you can see I used the pipe clearer to make a tail too. The slacks I got a JC Penny full price because I needed to get some slacks for some function. So I recycled those for this cosplay. I tied on the tail to the back belt loop. I can already tell you this part is going to be tricky so I am hoping that if I have to leave a panel to do something that I don’t shut my tail up in a door. I probably wont but sitting down will have to take some adjusting. Always try to make your cosplay as easy to maneuver as possible. It will help a lot by knowing just what events you will be doing and what it calls for. I am thinking it will not be all that bad but still I just got to make sure that I don’t get it caught in anything. This part of the costume was really fun to put together I was laughing at the end result because of the way it looked. I thought it looked pretty good and silly. I am a pretty fun guy so this cosplay will be really neat to do. I have never gone as a Toon before so this is something I have been wanting to experiment with for a good while now.
Tumblr media
Next up the Iconic feet of the Warner Trio. These are nothing more than painters shoe covers with toe marks on them. I got these at the Home Depot for about four bucks. I also bought some heavy duty white duct tape so that way I can make them somewhat wear and tear resistant from being on the concrete all day or the tile or carpet. I am going to wear some tennis shoe with these over them. I can already tell you that with this part you are going to need to tape the part that is not going to be to be the front of the foot down or it will look all funny looking. I have not wore the costume yet but I am already seeing somethings I am gonna have to do to make it look good. So yeah even your local hardware store is a good place to get some stuff for costumes if you have the right idea.
Tumblr media
I bought this black long sleeved shirt on clearance at Jo-ann’s they were getting rid of their long sleeve shirts for the season so I was able to get this fairly cheap. So yeah this was a pretty good deal. I am just saying things can look really good. This is one of the easier ones to make. The Star Trek costume took me a while to make. I had to find a combadge that was not sky high in price and where I didn’t have to pay for shipping and handling.
Tumblr media
And of course I got the gloves too at Jo-ann’s these were on their winter clearance and they had a whole bin of them and they were only a few cents so we got a few. It is not in here but I also have an all black belt so I have all the pieces finally to this costume.
I love making costumes but sometimes it just have to play it really cheap. When I met Sylvester McCoy from Doctor Who I did a Doctor Degeneration theme where what would he look like if he was dying or something. So I have the scarf from four, the fez from 11, the sonic from nine and ten, I bought a Doctor Who Tee that looked like 12′s suite. and I had a my black jeans so I looked like that. that was actually more expensive than what I had for the other two costumes because I bought all that Doctor Who stuff online. So it just depends on what you want to do. Many of you know this but some of you may be new to cosplay. This is just showing you the way I do it. I am sure we all have our preferred method of doing our cosplay.
I have to tell you that the Animaniacs cosplay is something that I am looking forward to wearing at our Campus Convention. I am very excited to see how it goes. Like I have said I am a huge Animaniacs fan and with this cosplay I am going to do something I don’t do a lot. I have a real knack to doing voice impressions and want to be a voice actor when I get out of college as well as a nature photographer and I can do both Yakko and Wakko impressions so I will be talking like Yakko most of the time at the con just to be silly and play the part. Sometimes if you dress the part you have to play the part. So I think that would be really funny and be worth some laughs. So until next time be safe at your conventions and have fun. I will see you next time on the trail of life.

§ Nice Art: Francesco Francavilla gave us the Thing vs Thing team-up we’ve all dreamed of on Twitter.
§ Nice art supplemental! Takashi Miike has made a movie based on the manga JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and it looks insane!
This is the guy who was somehow able to make us laugh at a scene depicting a hitman slicing off his own tongue in Ichi the Killer, after all. The JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga by Hirohiko Araki debuted in 1987 and chronicles the adventures of the Joestar family across several generations as they use their unusual powers to tackle a variety of supernatural threats. With around 100 million copies in print, it’s the bestelling horror manga of all time and also one of the bestselling manga series overall. Judging from the trailer, Miike’s adaptation will feature highly stylized visuals and colors, so we should be in for an incredible cinematic experience when Toho and Warner Bros. co-distribute the film in Japan on 4 August 2017. It stars Jun Kunimura, Nana Komatsu, Mackenyu, and Takayuki Yamada.
Bestselling horror manga? Whoa. Here’s the teaser trailer:
And the character posters! So manga!

§ Alison Bechdel has drawn a few new Dykes to Watch Out For comic strips, and it might be about a certain orange toned president.
§ Tom Spurgeon interviewed Ron Wimberly about Prince of Cats and the rest:
It’s such a shit show, the human brain. We think the way we remember things, that’s how it truly happened. Photoshop has been great because we’re now even more aware how fake everything is. [laughter] It’s just perception. Now that it doesn’t require someone that’s great at gouging, or working on something with a knife, now that a teenager can put Hillary Clinton’s face on Snoop Dogg’s body, we know everything’s fake. Karen Green asked me something. She had read the book. When I’m thinking of names, I always give myself a game or a problem to solve to come up with answers. So the tape at the beginning, at first they were listening to the Stooges or something. Then I was like, “No that contextually doesn’t make any sense.” What would they be listening to? How is this tape a microcosm of the entire world? What if Milton, a contemporary of Shakespeare: he had written this poem about Shakespeare when he died. So Rammellzee and Milton, I mashed them together, and that’s what in the tape in the tape deck. But I totally forget about that! I had come up with a name pulled from one of the prior authors of a Romeo & Juliet. Karen, being the genius she is, is like, “Oh, that’s such a great thing you put in there. I can’t believe you did that.” And I was like, “Oh, yeah. Thanks.” [laughter] I totally forgot I had done that!
§ Someone PLEASE MUZZLE FINN JONES. The Iron Fist star just keeps digging a deeper and deeper grave with every interview where he attempts to explain why Iron Fist reviews are so awful and people don’t like the whitewashing. First it was “it’s for the fans” then he blamed Trump. Here’s his take in Vulture below. A couple of things: Jones is British and they have a slightly different approach to racial issues than we do in the US. No excuse, but probably why he keeps blabbing. Second, he’s an actor. A young actor. And not everyone can be Cole Sprouse. So please, someone…teach him how to listen and acknowledge. It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
There’s so much outrage in the internet these days, right? Why don’t people just — look, the issue is that people are judging before they’ve even seen the show. And that’s problematic. C’mon. Don’t get angry and start a mob when you don’t even — you haven’t even seen the show! You don’t even know what we’re doing with it. It’s unjust. It’s unfair. Whatever issues they have may be true of the comic books; it was written in the ’70s. It was a very different time to where we’re at now. Very, very different. I get it. There needs to be more diversity in film and television, in all fucking aspects of life. There needs to be more diversity, period. Unfortunately, this show was picked, for whatever reason. I don’t fully understand, really, but what I say is, Watch the show. Watch the show, then make your opinions.
§ Paste magazine has the picks for comics on sale tomorrow and it’s a good week!
§ Vanity Fair chatted with 96-year-old Al Jaffee who is still cartooning and still amazing.
§ Image is holding a Homecoming Dance at Rose City Comic Con again. Details below:
Back by popular demand, Image Comics is pleased to host a very special formal Fall Homecoming dance for the comics community during the Rose City Comic Con festivities. The dance will be held on Saturday, September 9th from 8:30 p.m. – 12:30 a.m. at The Evergreen. This event will be 21+ only. IDs will be checked at the door.
Tickets to the Image Comics Fall Homecoming Dance are on sale now.
Image Comics’ Fall Homecoming will be in the style and spirit of a traditional high school dance and all comics fans and industry members are encouraged to come mix, mingle, and dance the night away.
Image Comics Fall Homecoming ticket tiers: $20: Entry ticket $45: Add-on pack, including an Image t-shirt, variant cover comic, commemorative pint glass, and enamel pin $79: VIP pack—ticket to the party, add-on pack items, and access to special VIP area at the venue (limited quantity, only 100 VIP tickets available)
§ Britt Hayes reviewed Atomic Blonde, the new comic book movie and liked it:
In one of the most striking cinematic introductions in recent memory, we meet Theron’s Lorraine Broughton, covered in bruises and soaking in an ice bath. She sits on the edge of the tub and plunks ice cubes from her bath into a glass, filling it with Stoli and gulping it down without the slightest wince. If you’ve been waiting for a female 007, she’s here — and she might be even cooler than Bond with all his ridiculous gadgets.
§ But Valerie Complex of Nerd of Color saw a preview for Ghost in the Shell and it was Worse Than We Thought:
On February 28, I saw a 15-minute sneak peek of the Hollywood adaptation of Ghost in the Shell. From the announcement of the project, this has always been a bad idea. But the announcement of the cast and story has made things much worse. Most noticeably, Hollywood adaptations of Japanese anime have yet to be successful. Either their stories veer too far from the source material, the director isn’t a good fit or the casting makes no sense. You would think Hollywood would learn, yet here we are, on the precipice of another anime-adapted flop.
§ Good news for Valiant! The Russo Brothers (Civil War) have signed on to make a Quantum and Woody TV show .
The team behind “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and “Captain America: Civil War” will develop “Quantum and Woody,” about the world’s worst super-duo, with Valiant Entertainment. Anthony and Joe Russo will be executive producers alongside Mike Larocca and Valiant’s Dinesh Shamdasani.
§ Another graphic novel is coming to the screen! Days of the Bagnold Summer was a hilarious and sad graphic novel about a 15 year old heavy metal music fan forced to spend the summer with him mum. Created by Joff Winterhart, it was shortlisted for the prestigious COsta Award in the UK, and now it’s going to be a movie, directed by Simon Bird, a well known Brit comic known for The Inbetweeners. Some good comic fodder there.
§ Vox runs down why people are so upset about Marvel, Magneto, and Nazis, explained:
For people who aren’t comic book readers or casual fans, the vocal fight over the origins of fictional characters can seem confusing, or even trivial, considering real life white supremacists have become fixtures in the current national political conversation, and bad fiction happens all the time. But the fight goes beyond the comic book history of Captain America and Magneto and deeper into the significance of art’s connection to morality. It’s an embodiment of how powerful fandom can be, and the ever-challenging question of who owns art: the artists creating it or the fans purchasing it.
I know Marvel got locked into this storyline long ago, thinking that the old good guy turns bad switcheroo was a comics book staple, but those days are over now.
§ Also over maybe, line wide events? This article at CBR suggests so.
We’ve come to expect that every year the seeds for an event will be planted to culminate in a crossover that summer. Now, it seems like the only thing that makes these stories different from one another are the principle cast members. It doesn’t help that Marvel touts each crossover as a universe-altering incident that will have repercussions for years to come. How can this be true if the following year’s incident will change the status quo that had been established just a year prior?
§ Finally, this photo from the set of Logan got punked on the internet and now Snopes had to explain that, no it isn’t a photo of a man who got mugged on his way to buy comics for his daughter. Fake news. It’s everywhere.
Kibbles ‘n’ Bits 3/15/17: Please muzzle Finn Jones § Nice Art: Francesco Francavilla gave us the Thing vs Thing team-up we've all dreamed of…

DC FanDome to Reveal DCEU, Arrowverse, and More DC Universe Secrets
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
The comics world is still disappointed at the necessary cancellation of an entire year of conventions due to the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak in the United States. While more than half the fun of the comic con experience was being part of the joyful, sweaty mass of people wandering the floor and feeding off of each other’s excitement, a good chunk of that feeling was the hype of new movies, panels with beloved creators, and the flood of breaking news hurtling out of them. DC Entertainment is trying to capture some of that magic on August 22 with DC FanDome.
Announced this morning, DC FanDome is a 24 hour digital event that tries to wrap up every part of the convention experience except tripping over someone’s cardboard buster sword and bring it into living rooms around the world. The event will feature news and announcements, exclusive footage, and interactive presentations for every time zone, in multiple languages. It will include announcements from Warner Bros’ Pictures, TV, Games, and DC Comics, and promises to have new information and creators from some of the biggest deals in DC Entertainment.
By accessing the official site, DCFanDome.com, viewers will be taken into the Hall of Heroes, the main hub for all of the big news. From there, they can head to one of five satellite “worlds”, leaning heavily into the Multiverse theme.
DC WatchVerse is the home for panels, screenings, footage, and behind the scenes details from DC Films, TV, home video and games.
DC YouVerse has fan-created content that Warner Brothers licenses into infinity if a fan signs up to create for them. DC KidsVerse will have family-friendly content for all ages.
DC InsiderVerse is the con panel experience, with introductions to all of the various spheres of DC content, and behind the scenes looks at the making of DC comics, games, TV shows, movies, parks and toys.
DC FunVerse has the con shopping experience – digital giveaways, comics, model kits, and some exclusives.
The Blerd and Boujee House promises “a celebration of Black nerd culture…bringing Blerds, LatinxGeeks and all nerds ‘party-with-a-purpose’ vibes.”
Check out the “map” to the DC FanDome…
Fans will also be encouraged to submit their own DC art and fandom displays, with the press release asking fans to “show us your cosplay, makeup, tattoos and even your own Batcave!”
But DC has also promised the opportunity to hear from “the casts and creators behind your favorite feature films and TV series.” And from the looks of it, we’re going to get a ton of new information about upcoming projects.
Called out by name are Aquaman, The Batman (could we get more teaser footage?), Batwoman (maybe this is where we learn more about the mysterious “Ryan Wilder”), Black Adam, Black Lightning, DC Super Hero Girls, Legends of Tomorrow, Stargirl (this had better mean we’re getting a season 2 announcement, Doom Patrol, The Flash, Harley Quinn (give us a season three confirmation, please!), The Snyder Cut of Justice League, Lucifer, Pennyworth, Shazam!, The Suicide Squad, Supergirl, Superman and Lois, Teen Titans GO!, Titans, Watchmen, Wonder Woman 1984, and Young Justice: Outsiders.
That’s…a lot of cool DC live action and animation projects. The Wonder Woman 1984 focus is entirely predictable – with the movie being pushed back to the fall, this is an easy way to keep people excited for that, assuming theaters continue to exist in October.
The Suicide Squad is one of the post Wonder Woman 1984 movies we know more about, but it’s still a little too far out for the hype to be oppressive. Likewise for Superman & Lois and season 4 of Young Justice. And Black Adam is an almost completely blank slate – we know nothing about it besides that The Rock is really excited for it to eventually happen. So it will be very interesting to see what comes of it.
“There is no fan like a DC fan,” Ann Sarnoff, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Warner Bros. said in a statement. “For more than 85 years, the world has turned to DC’s inspiring heroes and stories to lift us up and entertain us, and this massive, immersive digital event will give everyone new ways to personalize their journey through the DC Universe without lines, without tickets and without boundaries. With DC FanDome, we’re able to give fans from around the world an exciting and unparalleled way to connect with all their favorite DC characters, as well as the incredible talent who bring them to life on the page and screen.”
DC FanDome will take place on August 22.

With Juan Castro busy inking and Gil Colon preparing the annual New Year’s loft party It’s the hateful 3 or Darrell , Christopher Keszycki and Rafael Sanz hosting a nostalgic episode.
The show starts off with a continuation of last week episode NI$$A Loki ain’t got no real job .
We talk about the news of Warner Brothers using analytics in the film department to determine what films will be made.
We then deep dive the New Mutants trailer And discuss the Birds of Prey trailer isn’t for everyone.
We deep dive Star Wars nostalgia and how fans aren’t happy with any media if it doesn’t hit the nostalgic beats they grew up with .
We talked how delays hurt the crews enthusiasm for Doomsday Clock. This led us down a path of the longest delays in comics history. CK talked the long delay in Camelot 3000 issues from 1982 to 1985.
This is where the show goes off the rails as its 2 hours of Rafael , Darrell and Christopher Keszycki talking old bar stories old comic con stories Darrell vomiting at a loft Party , CK being awful at bars , Bar Rafael Sanz, San Diego comic con. And we end up just laughing at old stories the audience has heard 800 times . Then we realized Darrell can’t hit more than one bar a night on a bar crawl anymore even with RAF and CK going next bar .
It’s our usual No Apologies podcast nonsense.
For real we give you about a hour of real media talk and content but the rest is 2 hours of us Pulling a Prince in Purple Rain ain’t no one into your music but yourself ah ha like father like son lol.
Pure No Apologies fun hope you enjoy it when it drops .

Talk about all the comic con looks
i know i took an eternity to actually answer this but fashion critic tay is back and she’s about to snapt! sdcc2018 truly had some memorable looks!
warner brothers party:
ashleigh → i didn’t really clock this look… like there weren’t many pictures of it but what i did see i liked. the simple white scoop neck crop top paired with that shiny black skirt. i think i peeped some chains on it, and i was feeling it. i love the hoop earring and the simple hairstyle. all in all a simple and cute look. i’m not mad at it.
cami → miss cami really came through with this one! the plunging neckline on this look killed me, like i actually died! it’s similar to another look she’s rocked before but sis knows it looks good so why not go for it again? the fit and color of this dress was perfect. the black and white pointed toe heel with silver accents was everything. the wavy hair with the center part really was everything! i just love this look.
vanessa → my bitch snnnnnnnapt! like she looked fucking amazing! i was starving and she fed me! the length, fit, and cut of the dress was killer. the neckline and cleavage was bold but we love it! the skin peaking out through the material of the dress really was it! the hair, makeup, and accessories were perfection! that cross earring, ugh her mind! god, she snapt! this look was perfection!
mads → madelaine did that! yellow is her color and that’s a fact! that asymmetrical neckline was absolutely killer. i loved the length. that dress really was everything. the red pointed toe heel is what dreams are made of! the high ponytail and clean makeup look really pulled this look together. she really did the damn thing in this lewk! sis serving head to toe!
lili → MISS LILI FUCKING SNAPT! yall shook i said that, huh? i love love love this look. the strapless, polka dot dress! (show those shoulders sis!) the thigh slit! (okay leg!) the simple black heel! (yes honey!) the straight hair with center part i love her hair staright and simple makeup with minimal accessories was a look! miss lili came through and blessed us with this one!
interviews:
ashleigh → miss ashleigh fucking snapt! like i love the the distressed cropped pant with the those shoes. and choosing to pair it with that floral top was a stroke of genius. the maroon in the top looked so nice against her skin. the simple hair style was also a good choice and the minimal accessories. she really dressed to kill! the simple color palette of this look made this look one to remember!
cami → usually i love cami’s looks but she lost me with this one. i like the white button down blouse and the fact it has a little flair with the frills, but that where the likes stop. that skirt reminds me of a worn leather sofa… it could’ve been a look just not with that top. the choice to pair it with a small platform converse was just a mistake. i did like her hair and make up though… all in all this look was a disappointment!
vanessa → miss vanessa really did that! everything about the look was flawless. the fit, length, and color of her dress was absolutely stunning on her. the white pointed toe heel was fucking iconic! i love a pointed toe. the straightened hair with the side  pairingand those hoop earrings… iconic! her makeup was stunning. that was a fucking look! sis was snatched!
mads → mads looked great as per usual! that mesh prada top was to die for! the purple! the sparkles! i was living for it! i was not a fan of the stitching of the skirt, but i must saying it went well with the top so we’ll allow it. the strappy, black heel was a nice way to pull the look together. i loved the waves in the hair and the makeup (which matched vanessa’s). all in all our good sis fucking snapt!!
lili → i know this is a tired narrative coming from me but i was not a fan of this look. i usually love for a slit (like show that leg sis) but i just wasn’t feeling this one. the cut fit her frame nicely, but the white wasn’t flattering against her skin in photos. i almost wish she wore dangling earrings or maybe a more complex hairstyle. i, however, did like her natural makeup look. this look just missed the mark for me!
panel/signing:
ashleigh → this look was very bare bones but it still bangs! i love the silk cami under that medium wash jean jacket paired with the darker wash skinny, cropped jeans. i wasn’t of fan of her sock choice but the sneaker was cute. the ponytail and earrings really completed this look. i love this look because of the simplicity.
cami → sis really stole old ladies curtains and turned it in a top and a skirt. i really can’t with this one. this should’ve stayed on the hanger… in the garment bag… on the rack… in the showroom. i love a good floral pattern as much as the next bitch but this was not it! i will say that red and maroon, it suits her well. she snapt with her hair and makeup though.
vanessa → miss vanessa had somewhat of a look but not quite. i love the mesh dress, but the collar was not it. i love the fit and length. i love a spin on a classic, so it won some points for that. again, i love a pointed toe heel. i feel like the look would’ve fareed better if all her hair was pulled out of her face and she wore a small hoop earring. this look was decent overall.
mads → sis really wasn’t fucking around with this one! it was simple but captivating. that prada top was amazing! the hint of orange made the otherwise bland top pop! i wasn’t a fan of the loose fitting pants but they worked well for this look. i didn’t clock her shoes… well i didn’t get a good look but they fit the overall fell of the look. her hair pushed back someone tell mads her hair look sexy pushed back with that simple but lively make up look was perfect. the simple earrings was also a nice touch. honey snapt! i loved it!
lili → our good sis fucking snapt… honestly really and truly! like this look was utter perfection. that baby blue skirt set with gold buttons for accents? iconic! the heel was a perfect choice to pair it with. i wasn’t feeling her hair, it was subpar, but the outfit is enough to make me overlook that. the youthful, fresh looking makeup completed this look. she murdered this look! the clothes weren’t wearing her, she was wearing the clothes!
entertainment weekly party:
ashleigh → we love a valor woman! sis snapt in this orange number! the high waist pant and that plunging neckline! they’re everything! i questioned the blue eye makeup at first but now i love it. her high bun was to die for. and the dangling earring. her mind! ugh… she served us a complete look.
cami → we love a comfortable queen. i’m not gonna lie to you guys, i’m not feeling the pattern of this look. i like the colors and the fit and cut of the look, though. a nicer pattern on the material would’ve fared well here. the open toe heel was a good call. i love the simple hair, though i think it would’ve looked nicer down. i love the hoop earrings and simple make up look. she looked fresh faced. though this look wasn’t her best, it didn’t completely miss the mark. i wish she had snapt though.
vanessa → we love a gothic addams family look! i’m kidding jfkjdk. but i do like the all black look with slightly different shades of black. i love the simple top and the skirt that draws your eyes immediately. and again with the pointed toe black heel . the straight hair and side part is a yes from me! all in all our good sis snapt!
mads → miss madelaine once again has snapt… like our girl had me shaking with this one! the floral pattern could’ve killed this look but it didn’t. the pockets made this look more iconic than it already was! i’m not sure if, it’s a dress or jumpsuit but i love everything about it. the stomach cut out, the length, fit, and cut were all amazing. the red pointed toe heel makes another appearance and it killed here too. i love the wavy hair and center part. the simple make up. OUR BITCH SNAPT !!! I CAN FEEL THE BAD BITCH ENERGY RADIATING OFF THE PICTURE SIS !!!
lili → i wanted to like this one so bad, because i love a silk slip dress, but i just wasn’t feeling this one. the fit was fine, but the cut and length is were the dress fell flat. the length was swallowing her up (she lost the illusion she’s tall). i do, however, love that color on her. i was not a fan of the clutch that she accessorized with. her hair and makeup were good. this look had lots of potential. it just missed the mark a little.

Warner Bros. and DC Comics have created a cult culture following that I want to be a part of. More importantly, I want my kids to be a part of this cult culture. Between the two mega companies, they have brought comic book characters to life in a way that the Saturday morning cartoons of the 1960's and beyond failed to do. They have made the Superheroes real flesh and blood, with real relationships that we can relate to and sometimes see ourselves reflected in their storylines. Arrow was the first "real life" television shows in the 21st century to captivate an audience as it has continued to do so over the past five seasons and while Arrow is still on the darker side of DC, it is still a show I can watch with my pre-teen kids.
What's interesting is that Arrow, now the Green Arrow (aka Oliver Queen), was just a rich boy who was lost at sea. Throughout the series, we have been privy to flashbacks of how Queen became the Arrow - moving from circles of money and partying to a life wherein he felt responsible for the welfare of his entire city. The Green Arrow is not so much a Superhero as he is a vigilante but, nonetheless, you cannot help but fall in love with the calm, cool, collected, and handsome Stephen Amell (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of The Shadows). Despite his upbringing, he has been molded into a rough and gruff assassin at night but by day, he is the Mayor of Star City - clean, handsome, and charming.
Season Five gives the audience more insight into Queen's background and his vulnerabilities. One of the main antagonists turns out to be a confidant of the Mayor's, Adrian Chase (Josh Segarra; Trainwreck), whose alter ego is Prometheus. Prometheus challenges Green Arrow, and ultimately Oliver Queen, in a way unseen in prior seasons. We also see a culmination of Green Arrow's weaknesses in a way never presented previously. Normally, Green Arrow becomes more determined and harder with every villain he brings down but Prometheus almost breaks Green Arrow- or more specifically- Oliver Queen. For the first time, a villain cracks Green Arrow that shows the viewers the human man behind the hood. We are reminded that despite the huskier voice Green Arrow uses on screen or the difference in attire they wear, Green Arrow is simply a man with the same issues everyone else has.
Season Five brings in a whole group for Team Arrow. Going for quasi-thug type characters, the team has crude looking outfits instead of tailored outfits like Green Arrow or even Speedy. Their dynamic is rough around the edges and we spend much of the season getting to know the new characters and new storylines as well as getting to know everyone's relationships all over again and it is invigorating to watch. Throughout the Season, we also learn about the new team members' personal lives, quicker than we did with the prior characters. By far, introducing so many new characters and rebuilding the core of the show could have been a disastrous gamble but, in the end, it paid off and Season Five was a huge hit.
Green Arrow can be seen throughout DC's other television shows The Flash, DC's Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl. Despite his vigilante status versus superhero status, Green Arrow seems more grounded than the others, almost like a big brother or counselor guiding the newbies to where they need to go and how to get there. The others look up to him as a mentor and Green Arrow plays the part extremely well. The cross-over events bring a great dynamic to the series and provide more depth outside of the one story we are watching.
Arrow: The Complete Fifth Season is presented in 1080p High Definition Blu-ray with an aspect ratio of 1.78:1. As befitting Green Arrow's storyline, which seems to happen mostly at night, the background is really dark with overtones of a greenish tinge. Sometimes it is hard to make out the details of a scene but the actors bring the scenes to life so, really, you don't lose much. While in previous seasons outdoor scenes would have a natural brightness to them, I noticed that the outdoor day scenes were still overcast, possibly mimicking Arrow's mood for much of Season Five.
The audio is presented in DT-HD Master Audio 5.1, which emphasizes the action scenes without being too overpowering. The audio is appropriate for home viewing and provides a clear and crisp soundtrack for those watching even without speakers or a sound system. There is a lot of movement of the actors this season and despite that, the sound system captures exactly what it needs to, ensuring the audience is involved with all dialogue.
Along with a Digital Copy, the Blu-ray provides us with lots of Bonus Features for our viewing pleasure. Here, I have broken them down by Disc:
Disc 1
Deleted Scene: Episode 3
The New Team Arrow - Meet the new team as they get prepared to fight alongside with Green Arrow.
Disc 2
Watch the 100th Episode/Crossover Event (Episode 8)
Deleted Scenes- Episodes 9, 11
Allied: The Invasion! Complex (Arrow) – A documentary of what this season has been about- Oliver's vulnerabilities.
Disc 3
Deleted Scenes: Episodes 16, 17
Disc 4
Deleted Scenes: Episodes 19, 22, 23
Arrow: 2016 Comic-Con Panel- Discussing Season 5 from San Diego
Returning to the Roots of Arrow: Prometheus: Oliver faces his deepest secrets
Gag Reel
Personally, I am glad Arrow went through a bit of a reinvention this past season. New faces bring a new enthusiasm to the script and storyline and we are constantly reminded in Season Five that not only is the team simply human, but Arrow is simply a man, with weaknesses that can overpower him just like it can to normal, everyday, non-vigilante audience members. This season also reminded us that when we fall down really hard, there are always friends who will make us get up and carry on, whether we want to or not. Arrow: The Complete Fifth Season is a well-placed investment to have in your home.

About Jennifer Broderick A graduate of The George Washington University and Nova Southeastern Law School Jennifer Fischer Broderick’s fascination with the movie world started when she first saw Snow White on the big screen as a young child. When the producers of the movie Annie held auditions in NYC, Jennifer stood on line in the cold to try out for a part and actually made it past the first few try-outs. A vivacious reader, she is fascinated watching books and stories brought to life on the big screen. Jennifer has passed her love of movies onto her children and they are often found planning their weekends around opening premieres.
