viral is SUCH an interesting character actually. i’m thinking specifically of his scene in episode 26- which is probably overanalyzed, but the thing is. it’s fucking BADASS!! like he has this option to kick back and have this family that he never really could have as a beastman, he ISN’T a beastman he’s human like his shark teeth are gone, which is crucial he isn’t HIMSELF! and then he realizes what’s going on and he grins with his real face, as this sharp + angry person who regrets lost possibilities maybe but fundamentally knows who he is!!

GURREN LAGAAN! - PIERCE THE HEAVANS!

FINALLY! This took me soooooo long to make! I just finished watching Gurren Lagaan for the first time about a month and a half ago, AND IT WAS SO FUCKING GOOOOOOOOD! IT WAS SO HYPE AS HELL! I LOVE THE CHARACTERS SO MUCH, THE ACTION AND ANIMATION IS TOP CLASS AND THE MUSIC IS SO GOD TIER! So much fun to watch, even watch the two movies! I loved it alot and so glad I finally watched after so long! 

So here’s a complementary piece of the cast pre and post time-skip! I tried to copy the style of the eye catches from the series! Also the freaking Super TTGL form was a reaaaaaaaaaaal hassle to make but I think it came off great! Catch y’all later! - Brad

I’ve watched the twenty-seventh episode of “Gurren Lagann” and I’m automatically, radically, ironically, chronically, certainly, flirtingly, genetically, medically, DEAD, officially dead (gay also, but that’s not the case)! (SPOILERS!) This episode is soooo cooool! The biggest (the hugest! I’m not sure if it’s grammatically correct…) gunman with Gurren Lagann inside of it is going to fight the anti-spirals (who are also using a gunman, to beat humans with their own weapon) in space – they are throwing galaxies at each other and make explosions comparable with the Big Bang. The stakes are very high – because of some quantum staff there opened a wormhole from that far part of space straight to Earth – so people on Earth see the fight. Nia is together with Simon on Lagann and Lordgenome got himself a temporary body and fights with them sight by sight (and he sacrifices himself to save the team from the “Big Bang”). The most awesome thing happens at the end of the fight when the gigantic gunman starts dissembling like a Russian doll revealing smaller gunmen until we see original Gurren Lagann and then Viral (who’s in Gurren) throws Lagann to the enemy like Kamina did at the very beginning and it’s so symbolical! We also find out during the fight that anti-spirals once were a spiral race themselves but they stopped their evolution and started fighting other spiral races to prevent the end of the universe. So, when the Great Enemy is defeated, messages by other spiral races are received and our team comes back to Earth, Simone and Nia marry and Nia dissociates because she was “made” only to bring earthlings the message by anti-spirals. After the credits we see an epilogue: many years have passed, Rossiu is now a President (of some interplanetary coalition?) and Leeron serves near him, Viral is a captain of a huge spaceship, Yoko teaches kids and Simon is just nobody – a simple digger.  They all seem to be happy. The end.

This week has been hell but I just finally got some time and finished Gurren Lagann, what an exciting and amazing story, although it's kind of sad..

I love it, Simon and Kamina were such an amazing duo, I still can believe his death was actually true, before the time skipped I truly believe he was going to appear again.. But not only Kamina, we really lost Kittan too, and I seriously can't believe Nia ended up disappearing. Those things broke my heart.

But everything else was really really good, specially the characters, the story was so so nice, I'm not really a fan of stories with mecanoides but this is definitely one of the good ones.

I thought we weren't going to have a proper ending since so much stuff were happening. But I guess it ended the right way, a kind of bittersweet ending.

Animation was cool, fight scenes were done really well, the only thing I didn't like much was that colors looked kind of blurry at least on Netflix. Music and sound was really good too.

Now I'm in love with young adult Simon, watching him grow was so good. I'm going to miss our crew.
