Seong Taehoon x Reader: Military Service

Final chapter spoiler! G/N. Fluff.

Your presence slips into stories with other troops. Places you visited together, things you both experienced, time spent side by side.

"Did you used to hang out at the arcade on your own?" A fellow soldier asks Taehoon.

Taehoon thinks of your face lit up in the artificial glow, his battle victories and KO reflected in your eyes. He responds to the question with a shrug.

It used to be true, after Do Woon, then it wasn't true at all once he met you.

"Are you stupid? Of course Haeundae beach is the best!" A voice pipes up amidst the mess hall chatter.

"Boring." Someone else dismisses, "Everyone always goes there. Overcrowded."

Overcrowded. 

That's one way to put Taehoon's time with you and the Yoo Hobin Company at Daecheon beach, another well known tourist spot.

He spent most of the time annoyed on the train journey, irritated on the sand, shoulder barging people on the pier, and growling at men ogling you for too long.

But then you two ended up drinking on the pier alone that night; you swaying from drinking too much and Taehoon stone cold sober-

"You're really bad tempered you know," you narrow your eyes at Taehoon, who whips his head round at your slurred speech and scowls, "and your personality is definitely something. You're abrasive and mean and hotheaded." 

Taehoon’s eyebrows shoot into his hairline at this unprovoked attack.

"How you have any friends I don't even know. It's like people are attracted to you being an asshole. I suppose I can't talk." You tap your chin, deep in thought and oblivious to how much he looks on the brink of storming off, "Though... I guess you're sweet in your own way. You're cute too. Especially when you pout. I don't pout!" You taunt, in a tone eerily similar to his and you cackle at your own hilarious impression.

Taehoon subtly stops his bottom lip jutting out.

"And you look after me. Even if you also deny that." You direct a drunken grin his way, and don't notice that he doesn't look mad anymore. You didn't even realise he was mad in the first place. "Your disrespect for my personal space is sometimes infuriating too but often hot." You take a swig of your beer muttering, "I don't know why I'm telling you this." 

Taehoon smirks, leaning into your space, holding your chin between his thumb and forefinger, and tilting you up to face him.

"Hot, huh?"

"Asshole," you breathe. You don't know whether the rush of blood to your cheeks is a result of the alcohol or something else.

Taehoon arches an eyebrow, incredulous at your audacity. "I'm the asshole? After everything you just said? You want me to beat you up?"

You huff, looking anywhere but him. "I don't really think you're an asshole. Most of the time. I think I just... I really like you."

You had your first kiss that night. 

You always tell everyone you don't know who kissed who, and Taehoon is surprisingly gentlemanly enough not to say. 

But you remember leaning in first, feeling his gasp-turned-chuckle-turned-sigh on your lips.

His lungs are on fire, heart thumping in his ears, sweat dripping down his face 

Put through his paces with an 80lb pack on his back, paying for his cocky attitude in the first month to his superiors.

He feels their eyes, impressed though lips curled, as he finishes the 6am drills first yet again. 

"Shit!" Taehoon turns to see a private finishing behind him, a good minute slower, before dropping to all fours and dry heaving.

"H-How the fuck are you so fast? Who did you train with?"

Technically his dad. Taehoon gives his answer, clipped and curt.

What he doesn't mention is you sitting in the dojo all those evenings and nights and early mornings too. In the corner on your laptop, surrounded by books, half falling asleep. Or simply - watching.

What he also doesn't mention, nor has he ever confessed, is that your presence spurs him on to work harder, kick harder, punch harder.

If just for the way your face lights up, mouth forming an 'o', the occasional applause when he's been particularly impressive.

He calls you cringe every time.

Yet he has never mentioned how his chest puffs with pride at your praise, but he thinks it may have been obvious anyway.

Taehoon spots you, back to him, gently swaying to the music on your own. No doubt eyes on Rumi and Wangguk’s first dance as husband and wife, like everyone else.

Your hair looks longer, though of course it is. It's been months.

Self consciousness creeps in. Taehoon wonders if you mind that he hasn't had time to change, his bomber jackets untouched for so long. He wonders if you will like his hair, short and natural, military standard.

Most of all-

If you will still feel the same. After all, young love is fickle, flighty, fleeting.

He swallows down his nervousness and ignores the fluttering in his stomach.

You feel an arm curling round your waist. The weight of the hand and the heat of the embrace you've dreamt about for nights on end.

"I've been waiting for you," you whisper.

Taehoon kisses you. It feels like the first time, on the sun bleached pier, all those years ago.

Except, he leans in first. 

The softness of your lips just as he remembers, and tonight, he feels your pleased sigh ghosting his skin.

Excluding Gun, fave character? And any AU/scenario/scene you like to imagine them in?

I have a lot of PTJ’s character Favorite I not adding Manger Kim as all of the dilf are my fave and I have no idea what type of AU role can make.

Viralhit:

There are two characters that is my favorite and one is questionable favorite. I haven’t catch up yet on the scanlation version.

Fave:

Teahoon Seong, He is basically so second prince like in manhwa that always made the second prince being in throne that doesn’t give an f. I would Imagine him being in an AU of martial art Chinese manhwa aka those Long ass martial art technique name with “magic pills” or an AU of him being general/sword master or dark knight in fantasy world

Seogjun Baek, He just my favorite mature type of guy kind of pity that he is destined to be in a bad ending or end up being a yakuza member and bad fate. I would say a scenario of “The way of househusband” as he knows how to cook and will defiantly have his yakuza slang/ language when he retires.

Questionable Fave:

Jinho Lee, He basically made me question my mental state (LOL) but I kinda accept it as I think that it the way of me being an unhinged type of person. I would think he would be fitting scenario as Criminal Cop that is pretend to be at the side of the justice but stab them in the back when reader/character about to discover the truth and made it like accident. Another is Killing and Stalking AU (I don’t the whole story line on that but I know is that the lover is obsessive to the partner that he abused and basically broke the knee of the lover so they can’t leave him) I think it fits Jinho psychotic character to be obsessive lover when he found out his love.

Lookism:

I have a lot of favorite but I can’t remember the exact reason, I’ll put a category.

Appreciate:

Jay and Daniel as a ship they cannot be separated they need to be in a bundle. All I imagine them doing a partner dance like the Ballroom e Yousoko. Jay being the lead while Daniel being the partner. Wahhhhaaa, I just imagine them being like Daniel being Shizuku and Jay being Hyoudou there dance probably being so alluring. Or even the Yuri on Ice AU OG Daniel trying to go on the diet just to win the Cup.

Vasco was a short live attraction when Gun was introduce as Vasco Coolness got swiped by Gun coolness. Sorry Vasco fans but I still appreciate him for his effort on changing his way during middle school to be stronger and not be bullied or be a bully. And his muscles. I would imagine him being a duke of a northern land who fight of monsters on the border.

Like Like:

Jake Kim, I didn’t like him at first during his gambling arc. Probably due to his appearance and art style being unlikable but when he was backed at juvie the art improved a lot which made me neutral then the big deal background came which resulting me being his fan of his come back. In AU I would imagine him being a Mafia boss that manage the upper territory like he just protect the civilians so they won’t get cross fired by those mafia fights, you can say they work with authority. But the catch is he doesn’t care much on those people get into debts and get in trouble from the loan shark or other gang like in original he abandoning his moral just to get money for Shinu. But he still stop other mafias on kidnapping their civilians in his territory

Samuel Seo, He basically the embodiment of prefect large booba muscle. I would say I just appreciate his muscle but won’t say I would date as I also have an issue lol. The type of AU I would put him in CEO or Mafia like Jake but he is more of the underground dealer/ mob boss.

Jake and Samuel basically a duo that can’t be separate when making AU as they are basically a counter-part or partner in crime in each role.

Love their design:

Taesoo Ma, the very first Dilf looking guy I ever seen in lookism well Samuel is more of the CEO guy in 30s than Dilf in 30s. I would put Taesoo in an AU of caveman or just be a leader of Bandits that rule on the east side of the Fantasy world. He can even be the Duke of the North like Vasco.

DG, I would separate the persona of James Lee and DG since DG just playing to be idol group to the public just to cover up his past so I think he would be an underground dealer/popular noble in every AU of the fantasy to historical scenario.

Questionable Fave:

James Lee, As we see his background and his tendency of amputating his opponents I would say he is my questionable favorite as he too badass. I would say that his role is a vigilant or a dark knight in every scenario. Oh, I total see James Lee in an AU of apocalypse him being a ML or MC of every type apocalypse him being a time traveler to survive or even go on a revenge time travel. (I recommend reading re: survival as the MC is a red hair also the plot is a zombie apocalypse)

Jinyoung Park, the second dilf I ever since trying to stop myself simping (LOL) since he is too unhinged I would day the scenario would still be him being a mad scientist in a SCP probably he is the head of the SCP scientist or him being a SCP like the plague doctor. I would even think Jinyoung as a vampire or a demon in a slayer that look for cure to his immortality.

Goo Kim, our favorite menace to the society and a unhinge ace. In the AU of the fantasy I would say he would be a mercenary and the underground dealer additional he is a thief in a D&D. he gonna be the person who know stuff that he shouldn’t know and he basically do a 4th wall breaker on the type of AU.

Respect Fave:

Eli Jang, I love his dedication to Yenna all scenario I can think of him just raising his daughter and found a new love on his way because that man need someone to be with. So all type of fluff AU that involved his daughter Yenna.

Hudson Ahn, Our boi Asan and Allied member respect him for being dedicated to Taesoo Ma teaching and to Asan Public. As before in behead by guillotine. I have put there is that Hudson is a knight with high statue, war hero or a noble knight statue would be fitting to him in a fantasy AU. In modern AU I would say a hier of the big company maybe a manger of the company would be a fitting job to him.

Zack Lee, his dedication for Mira is a quiet respectful. Since he been taught by a “monk” I would say he is a monk in a Chinese fighting AU. In a fantasy AU he is a paladin. That’s all I think of.

Our favorite Female Chara!:

Lua Im, She is my favorite of all female characters in Lookism just look at her innocent-looking face that can smash your face with a suitcase (LOL). And she is the atta girl! Her role would be fitting as a model in a showbiz AU or even an archer or a mage in a fantasy AU.

Mary Kim, Do I say anymore she is a badass female character that can Judo flip you with one hand. She is a modern AU streamer and a fighter in an adventure fantasy AU.

The rest of the female character doesn’t faze me at all

Final chapter spoiler! G/N. Taehoon in the military and you ask for-

"Letters?"

"Yep!" you grin, popping the 'p' as Taehoon looks on incredulously.

"Why the fuck would I send letters when I can just text you?" 

"Because," you tip onto your toes and reach up to kiss him, "It'll be romantic."

Profanities are mumbled under his breath.

Taehoon feels like an idiot. He feels so cringe he's going to crawl out of his skin.

He texted you today, video called you last night. Yet your request for letters runs round and round his head.

Rattling like an incessant, annoying bug. Reminding him of your request accompanied by hopeful eyes and a sweet kiss.

Fuck.

The paper looks so very blank. Large and looming and intimidating. Like an exam sheet 5 minutes before the end and nothing has been scribbled down.

How is he even supposed to start this?

'Dear Y/N,' 

-is immediately scratched out, scrunched up then tossed towards the garbage can.

You receive a letter a few days later. 

Your name and address written in scratchy chicken script. The fact that it was delivered successfully is a miracle in and of itself.

With uncharacteristic patience and utmost care, you peel open the envelope. 

A few paragraphs fill half the page. You read over his words, feel the hesitation between the lines, and soak up the love that you know has been poured into this act. Just the fact that he has done this says more than enough.

Taehoon is snippy, snippier than usual on video call tonight. His short dark hair and uniform seemingly amplifying his hard edges.

You know his leg is bouncing out of shot.

"Haven't you received it yet?" He cuts you off mid-sentence.

"Received what?"

"What do you think?"

“Your letter?”

Taehoon confirms it with a scowl.

You give him a grin, brushing past his question and leaving his mood sour.

There's mail waiting for him. Correspondence.

In a plain white envelope, with simple stamps.

But the writing- 

His name, with your particular slant of characters and loops as unique to him as your laugh.

The way he opens the envelope is the opposite to you. Teared open, fingers urgent.

(When was the last time, anyway, that he received a handwritten letter?)

His eyes scan the words. What could be cringe, he finds endearing. What could be sappy, warms him. 

Feels your absence more than ever after reading, counts down the days until he can see you again. 

He regrets his letter. That he has none of your poetic ramblings, or interesting turn of phrases. That he isn't able to express his emotions, taking pen to paper like a duck to water, as well as you do.

He’ll have to do better with his next one.

Yet- 

Taehoon is left love drunk, mood light and floating on air when sleep takes him that night.

“You’re so shit and handing spicy food” You laughed as you watched Taehoon down a glass of milk. His glare did nothing, if anything you cracked up even more. A pale milk moustache was evident on his equally pale skin. This boy really thought he could scare you with a glare after you watched him fail at eating the spicy ramen.

His arm came up to his mouth to wipe the milk mou off his face. You were seated at his families' dining table, a bowl of instant ramen in front of you with a pair of chopsticks sticking out from it. Taehoon had invited you over to watch a movie as it was a shit day with even shittier weather, you’d just finished editing his video when he called you over. This was not what you expected though, to be laughing at the guy who would kill someone for even looking at him funny.

“Shut Up.” 

You just couldn’t, if he couldn’t handle the spice why’d he even bother putting it in his ramen. He made his way back to the table with a glass of milk for himself, none for you, you noted. Taehoon was obviously getting ticked off now, so you did your best to calm down. It was quite the show, his once pale face becoming red suddenly out of nowhere. With a finale chuckle, you let a sigh of air pass through your mouth.

“Sorry, sorry.” The tears on the corner of your eyes begged to be released, but you quickly wiped them away so Taehoon wouldn’t know about them. His brows twitched with slight anger, he didn’t like to be laughed at.

“So is this the real reason why you don’t like spicy food? Cause you can’t handle it.” I wasn’t supposed to come out like that, but it was too late to turn back now. 

He was pissed, the eyebrow that twitched and the jaw that clenched were clear signs of it, though you feigned oblivious and continued to speak. “I always found it odd when you take me out to dinner and never order any spicy food. Theres nothing wrong with not having spicy, but if spicy was the only option you’d lower it down.” 

A hand slammed into the wooden table which made the ramen cup bounce in the air a little. This didn’t phase you in the slightest. Instead, you wanted to tease your boyfriend even more. 

“Awwe, did I make my boyfriend who can’t handle spice very well upset, oh whatever shall I do. How could I ever atone for my sins, I know I’ll buy you some ic-” 

Your sentence was cut off when a callused palm slapped over your mouth to restrain you from speaking. Dark brown eyes met your own as his pale skin had a pinkish hue blooming underneath it.

You had just made your boyfriend blush. The same guy who didn’t even blush when he asked you out was now blushing up a storm over a small little tease.

“Don’t smile.” His voice was less like his normal tone, this one was flustered even. The corners of your mouth rose up even faster at his voice. Slowly your hands reached upwards to remove his from your mouth though it did little as his grip on your face was strong. 

Once again you tried to pull his hand off your face yet it was hopeless. A cocky smirk made its way up to Taehoon’s face, the blush on his face was long gone. The hand that was not latched onto your face was placed on the chair you were sitting on, his hand just mere centimetres away from your shoulder. He leaned forward and whispered in your ear.

“Beg”

This fucker, so you figured out his secret, and now he’s going to make you embarrass yourself because of it. As it, you had dignity to uphold. No way were you going to lick is hand, you had no doubt your boyfriend was clean, but he was still a boy, so that option was an easy pass.

The next option was to act as cute as possible. Make some cute looking eyes or throw some cute little poses, Hah! As if your cold-hearted boyfriend would bend to your will at that, plus being cute was not you at all.

Option three it was, with little to no force at all, you twisted your body around in the chair. Your back no longer had the support from before but you were completely free from his arm now. But you were now falling backwards. 

With a thud you landed on your back, only to be met with a slam from the front as well. A cough escaped your mouth as you opened your eyes. Only to be meat with light brown hair and a hand to the side of your head. Taehoon had landed right on top of you, his face was squished between your boobs. Well what a sight. He had lot his balance when you fell off the chair resulting in him falling, though how’d it end up like this? 

Taehoon shifted his head to look up at you, his brown bangs covered his eyes slightly, your eyebrow quirked up. 

“Comfy down there?” 

He scoffed before shuffling up a bit, you took this chance to take a hit at him.

“Who would have thought you’d have gotten so defensive over nothing, its cute.” A smile made its way up to your face before being replaced by a shit eating grin. “I feel bad though, do I still have to by my boyfriend thats bad at spice ice–” Once more was your sentence cut off, but this time differently.

His warm lips met yours as he stole the words from your mouth. Your eyes closed on instinct as his hand that was once holding your mouth hostage was now caressing your face, mainly cheek but who cares for the details. Having done this with him before, your mouth opened wide as his tongue slipped inside your mouth. Arms reached up to play with his brown hair, the locks were soft to the touch. One of his best features. 

Parting your mouth once more, your eyes opened and Taehoons tongue slipped out of your mouth as a trail of saliva followed his tongue out. With warmed cheeks you let go of your boyfriends hair and stare at him in the eyes as he did the same.

“Finally shut up.” He spoke as you rolled your eyes.

“Oh shut up jackass.” A reply came from your lips.

“I’m home” A cheerful voice spoke from the front door 

Eyes locked with each others, you communicated telepathically.

Taehoon seong as your boyfriend (bf getting beat with a frying pan insert, ft.piano)

Taehoon walked in front of you, hands in his pockets. You donned his green bomber jacket, feeling the chill of the air on your skin.

"My bike is around the corner." Taehoon turned to look at you. "We'll ride it to the arcade."

He didn't ask if you wanted to go or not. He knew you'd follow him anywhere. Earlier that day, your teacher had called for you after class.

"You're our top student, desperate/loser." He smiled at you. "Could you try and help your classmate turn his grades around? For extra credit?"

You hadn't bothered to ask which classmate it was, and replied simply. "Yes, sir." Extra credit was extra credit. The deal was, raise the target students grades to a passing level, and you would get extra credit/a letter of reccomendation to your choice college.

When you found out it was seong taehoon you had to tutor, you were simply mortified. He shot down every attempt you made to tutor him. He offered to get you lunch unexpectedly, and when you asked what you'd be eating, he replied: "a knuckle sandwich."

You decided to follow him around after school, bag full of books, and when he called you a stalker, you didn't deny it. "A stalker who wants you to get good grades, heart emoji."

"Did you just SAY heart emoji?" He made a face at you. Or so you assumed, it was hard to tell when he didn't have visible eyebrows.

But alas, you carried on in trying to get your extra credit. So now you were on the back of his bike, arms wrapped around his shoulders.

"riding around free, its so nice." He seemed to be zoning out. "Thank god theres no frying pans flying around"

"argh" a flying frying pan hit him from the side. The bike toppled over and you floated to the ground, golden y/n hair splayed across the ground.

Suddenly, a piano fell from the sky, killing Gayhoon. The frying pans floated away, having fulfilled their destiny. You sat in shock.

Taehoon was dead. You walked slowly to his body, and grabbed his hand carefully. Then, you lifted his whole arm and slipped his backpack off him. Sitting cross legged, you filled out all his homework.

"There. Now ill get my extra credit."
