Jascha Heifetz playing Saint-Saens’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso. As many have stated in the comments’ section, Heifetz is widely considered to be one of the greatest violinists in history. His intonation here is impeccable.

First time to hear Itzhak Perlman live on stage. He was one of my childhood idols. I used to dream about one day if I practice so very hard, I'll be playing like him. Bring it on. I'm ready for a good time and a good cry. #itzhakperlman #violin #violinist #virtuoso #classicalmusicians #classicalmusic #violinvirtuoso #beethoven #greig #dvorak #bergenpac #childhoodidols (at bergenPAC (Bergen Performing Arts Center)) https://www.instagram.com/p/B48mid1Hk3I/?igshid=dhl2ypvi7eev

A Culture of Dialogue Ikeda: Culture, and music in particular, has a mysterious power to cement person-to-person ties and nourish friendship between countries. You have written many books dealing with music. The following passage particularly impresses me. "Music is our oldest form of expression, older than language or art; it begins with the voice, and with our overwhelming need to reach out to others." Menuhin: Music is one of the very few fields in which there is no feuding or quarrels. Of course there may be antagonism or competition between individual artists. But the audience is united as one with the musician. Music binds and harmonizes the performers and the members of the audience. Ikeda: I understand your meaning. By nature Buddhism also unites people together; it is not something that creates divisions between them. You also state that music creates order out of chaos. I am confident that a new order of peace can be produced through the beautiful solidarity of ordinary people who love music. Menuhin: My feelings are the same.″1 --From a dialogue between Daisaku Ikeda and violin virtuoso Sir Yehudi Menuhin Jogen Chowdhury | 18.5 x 11 inch | mix media on paper | Sitar For sales related inquiry please email us on [email protected]

#violinpractice When learning #virtuosoviolinist runs/scales, I find it helpful to include accents as a sort of “scaffolding” to keep the notes organized. Accenting notes gives the left hand energy. The right hand gains awareness of bow direction. I systematically remove the accents as follows: 5 videos: 1) Accent twice per beat ~swipe left~ 2) Accent once per beat ~swipe left~ 3) Accent every two beats or twice per measure ~swipe left~ 4) Performance version - passage is played rubato; however the notes are organized and in control ~swipe left~ 5) Photograph of the opening passage of #carpathianrhapsody by #ukrainiancomposer #myroslavskoryk Note: In this particular passage, all accents are on up bows with the exception of the down bow on beat 4. Understanding this pattern helps me play this passage well. #violinpractise #practisepractise #practisepractisepractise #violinguy #ukrainianmusic #violinvirtuoso #violintips #practiceroom #practiseroom #violinteacher #violinmasterclass #ukrainianmusicians #ukrainianmusic #скрипка🎻 #скрипаль #українськамузика #violinclass #violinlessons #suzukiviolinteacher #violinteacher (at Washington D.C.) https://www.instagram.com/p/Ca1-HcCuJlF/?utm_medium=tumblr

An extract from a fascinating documentary on violin virtuoso and composer Henryk Wieniawski (listen to the narrator to find out how this name is pronounced). One of the great Polish musicians and composers of the 19th century, the documentary extract explores his astonishing touring schedule as well as his compositions. Features some virtuoistic performances from violinists today.

♡ Mountaineering | Mikhail and Oracle }
Warm spring air and the consistent chirping of birds were the first things to catch the Oracle's attention as she stepped outside of her home in the first time in - well, who knows exactly how long? Humming an upbeat tune under her breath, the small alchemist made her way through the various paths and trails that littered the mountainside, keeping her eyes peeled for any flora she could use in her potions.
Eventually, she did come across something, although it was far from a flower or a herb. The Oracle's eyes opened wide in shock at the sight before her: a human on her mountain! He hadn't seemed to be alerted to her presence just yet, but Oracle was determined to change that. Puffing out her cheeks, she walked right up behind the man. "Just WHAT are you doing on MY mountain, huh?!" She demanded, jabbing him in the back with an outstretched finger. "Explain. Your. Self!"

#fastfingers #violinpractice🎻 In #fastviolin passages such as this famous “lick” from #czardas by #vittoriomonti it’s easy for the #lefthand fingers to get behind the motion of the bow. I practice “leading” with the left hand and having the bow simply “ride along” as follows: 2 videos: 1) Practice only with the left hand (no bow). Listen to each note as a “pitter patter” Economize the motion and avoid hammering the strings. The left hand fingers should move swiftly but remain as close to the strings as possible when lifted. ~swipe left~ 2) Performance version - bow comes along for the ride. Keep the focus on leading with the left hand. #violintechnique #violinpedagogy #violinteacher #violinvirtuoso #violinguy #violinfun #gypsyviolin #monticzardas #czardasmonti #fastviolin #stringpedagogy #practiceroom #40hrs #dailyviolin #violinpractice #violintips #stringplayer #violatechnique #cellotechnique (at Washington D.C.) https://www.instagram.com/willhurdstrings/p/CXMRfWyL2Al/?utm_medium=tumblr

Just listened to Hilary Hahn’s 2018 Bach CD via her YouTube channel (very important, since this is her intellectual property, and I hope ad revenues are sent her way).
The precise fingering, clarity, and musicality are all the more striking. I have already heard a few select movements beforehand, particularly the Double from Bach’s Partita No. 1. The whole thing together brings the architecture of this astonishing music into full view.
Hahn is undoubtedly an outstanding performer of Bach, a composer whose works she has been playing since the age of 8.

Hello! I have been following for quite a while now and was wondering how that whole moving situation was coming along? Anyways, glad to see you're back. I don't really know what else to say, but this should suffice: I hope you are doing well, have a nice day/night. And, thank you for making those "dumb videos", they really brighten up people's days.
Dumb videos are just a name I label them to ground myself, but I'm glad yer liking them!
As for the move, it went alright. Had some difficulty leaving due to some bullshit involving a bathroom I barely used, but the actual drive was nice. Tailbone was sore, though. @.@;;
The only problem be the funding. Ended up spending much more than I wanted, only got $60~ left on the account, and I got to make that last until 18-25th (I start training on a call center job on the 14th, and I've yet to be told when the first paycheck is coming in). Not sure what to do on that front, but eh.
Alright, 'nuff about my dumb problems. Glad to see you about!
