This zine seeks to explore the things they may do together like going on dates, making breakfast, or even grocery shopping.

On the Care and Keeping of Husbands Houseplants

Jounouchi’s been getting really into houseplants lately. It seems every day when Kaiba comes home from work, he finds a new one tucked into some corner or shelf or windowsill of their penthouse. If he didn’t know better, he’d think they were multiplying on their own. But Jounouchi’s continuous plant babble always reveals the secret: “Did you see the new monstera?” “The ponytail palm needs more light, I think.” “I put the dracaena on the table in the entryway.” And Kaiba would always respond with, “The what?” Which would lead to an exaggerated sigh, and some variation of, “You’re a billionaire genius, but you don’t know what plants are called?”

Q:  hi! can you expand a little on the expectations for backgrounds in artist pieces? i had planned to give examples of various background styles, but will only scenic backgrounds be accepted or are more abstract styles allowed? thanks!

A:  Hi! I am open to any and all background styles! I would just prefer to see illustrations that aren't just a flat-colored background. If you have samples that feature more stylized/scenic backgrounds or some that are more abstract and minimal, you are welcome to submit it. I'll also be looking through peoples' portfolios so if you want to feature more of your range as an artist, please feel free ^^

Q:  I submitted my application a bit early and atm, I'm currently working on a large illustration. Will you check the applications by the end of the application period or while during the period?

A:  I periodically check on applications once or twice a week but it's mostly just to see how much traction it's gotten! I'll be using my full attention towards the end once applications are over. There’s still 3 weeks left to go so please take your time :)

A:  Hello! Thanks for your question. I don't plan on closing applications early, no. They'll be up until June 12th! There's a chance I may extend them, but I definitely won't be closing them early.

Q:  Hello, I would just like to check if excerpts would be allowed in applications for the joey x seto sample. (My shortest fic of them is around 50k so I’m just checking I could submit a chapter

A:  Hi! Thank you for your question! Excerpts are fine so long as they do not exceed 3K words. Here are the guidelines for the authors interested in submitting an application: 

Submissions that are devoid of grammatical and spelling errors. Submissions will be evaluated based on a mixture of components such as characterization, syntax, and dialogue

Please submit three (3) samples that you feel best represent your work

At least one (1) must be YGO or KaiJou

Each sample must not exceed 3,000 words

Q: How do people go about applying as an artist? Do they recommend themselves on the interest check or will there be an application later on?

A:  Depending on the results of the interest check, a formal announcement of the zine will be made. Once that goes out, an application will be put out ^^
