We are looking to fill our team with beloved JouKai/KaiJou artists and authors. Applications will be open from May 15, 2023 - June 12, 2023 and close at 11:59 PM EST.

Here is the proposed game plan:

20-25 contributors | (Possible break-down of 12 page artists, 3 merch artists, and 10 writers)

There are 4 Invited Guests | 2 artists and 2 writers

Digital (PDF) + Physical (Portrait Style, perfect bound, glossy pages, matte cover) with added merchandise if possible

Nonprofit, befitting The Trevor Project; Once production costs are accounted for, leftovers will be donated

Hi everyone! Thank you all so much for your participation in the interest check and spreading it around! I appreciate it <3 I’ll be closing the interest check for the KaiJou/JouKai zine sooner than expected because we’ve reached the minimum threshold of 50+ responses! I can confirm now that the zine is definitely happening and will proceed as planned (with maybe some very small adjustments to the schedule) ^^

While there is an overwhelming desire for a physical zine, it will ultimately depend on other factors such as sales, production costs, and shipping costs. Please note that all leftover money will be donated to The Trevor Project, our charity of choice.

I will be putting out another survey within the next several months to gauge prices and see where the fandom stands in terms of bundle costs. Physical bundles may range anywhere from $25-$50 depending on the contents within the bundle whereas if we go the digital route, they will be priced at an appropriate amount ($15-$30). Please note that these are just general estimates and are in no way a reflection of how much things will actually be. I figure an estimate would be helpful to in case people want to budget for it in advance.

Please also be on the lookout for our invited guests ^^ I’ll be posting their announcements within the weeks leading up to May 15th, the day applications open.

Alright, thanks for the input in the last post. Unless someone speaks out for now I will be calling the pairing Toppleshipping.

Also, I realize I forgot to mention it. But the pairing in question is Marik/Joey/Ryou. I couldn't find a ship name for them on any of the lists I found.

My reasoning for the shipname:

I chose Toppleshipping because one thing they all have in common is that they've all been in at least one situation where they were able to overpower the one possessing them. Thus "Toppling" them.

Examples: Marik with Yami Marik, Joey with Marik, Ryou with Yami Bakura in season 0. I can't remember if he ever did it in DM.

I also noticed that when they toppled/broke possession in those moments it was with help from or because of someone they cared about (Marik with Rishid, Joey with Yugi, Ryou with his friends/Yugi crew). I don't know, that feels important. I hope that makes sense.
