"its a secret. you'll see later when we find it." he smiled smugly, playing around with his necklace as you walked beside him.

feigning a scoff, you then pointed towards a tall building with the words "AKADEMIYA" lighted up brightly. "we're almost there, you've gotta lead the way though. i don't know the directions to the inazuma classes.."

scaramouche nodded and continued walking, "yeah, just keep on following me." putting his hands in his pockets, his thoughts racing miles per hour.

fuck. am i really giving it to her? i cant believe this.

"we're here." scaramouche spoke as you admired the entrance to where inazuma class is located.

..this place is so pretty..! "wow... am i allowed to take a picture of the entrance? am i?" you questioned excitedly, taking out a phone from your bag.

he shrugged, "i think it should be fine, it's not like they don't have a video published of a tour of the whole akademiya. feel free to." you smiled and nodded, taking some pictures of the place for yourself and showing him the results once done.

"do you like them? look! i even caught a picture of you here." grinning happily, you handed your phone to him as you watched the corners of his lips lift up. "yeah, they look nice. mind sending me these pictures?"

nodding happily, you sent the pictures to him.

"we should start looking now. you could start from the front of the class, i'll start from the back." scaramouche said, and began to search for the item.

you then picked up an artificial flower that's in half, showing it to him. "i guess someone in this class got heartbroken or something like that.." sweatdropping, you grabbed a cardboard box nearby and put the flower inside.

i think this'll take awhile to find..

"scara, it's been around 20 minutes.. did you find anything? all i found were stuff like school books, hair ties, keychains, and hairclips. what's up with people and keychains?" you questioned as he sighed softly.

"well, keychains are nice and you can bring it everywhere with you without it adding too much weight to your bag. there's one spot left we haven't checked, we should look there."

nodding, you followed him behind and began looking again. your eyes went towards a small cat plushie, grabbing it gently and showing it to the male.

"scara, is this what you were finding?"

his eyes widen slightly and went back to normal in a blink of an eye, walking in front of you. "yeah, it is.. if you look on it's back it has my nickname in cursive."

your eyes sparkled, handing over the plushie to him. "it's really cute.. and it kind of looks like you in some way. maybe it's the color?"

scaramouche gently pushed the plushie towards you again, "take it, i wanted to give it to you. it's something my aunt made for me, but i wanted you to have it now."

your eyes softened as you looked at the plushie and at him, holding the plushie near him again. "wait, i can't take this! it's yours, isn't it? i can't take this.."

the male shook his head and placed his hand on your head, "keep it, really. what was once mine, will be yours. i want you to keep it for yourself." ruffling your hair softly.

"then.. thank you. lots of thank you's. i'll update you every day with a picture of this cat plushie whenever i wake up! i'll take care of it with my whole being."

scaramouche chuckled and walked out of the class, "it's nothing, i think we should go back to our dorms now. it's kind of late, don't want our dorm advisers to scold us now do we?" you smiled and nodded, holding the plushie close to your chest as you closed the door.

and as you both walked away, you saw a flash of burgundy hair from the corner of your eyes. stopping in your tracks, you shrugged the thought away.

in a corner, a certain male put a hand over his mouth. "wasn't that yn.. and she was with scara? oh my god. a new discovery. i'm so glad i followed my intuition to find my hair tie at this hour!"

fuck. why did i say it like that? i didn't mean to make it sound like i was asking him out for a date!

you groaned in frustration, and put your right hand on your chest. "its okay, yn! its okay. its okay! it'll be fine. haha. it'll be fine..!!" you spoke to no one else but yourself, opening the door to your closet.

"this'll take awhile..."

4:01. crap, i'm fucking late!! we agreed to meet up at 4, what if he gets upset for me arriving late..?

you continued to walk quickly and gently knocked your head, sighing in anxiety. and not long after, you arrived to the celestia cafe.

looking around the cafe, you then spotted scaramouche ordering as you approached him to tap his shoulder.

"sorry, im late! where did you seat..?" you whispered into his ear, and soon approached the place to where he pointed. not paying attention to his crimson flushed ears.

going through your bag, you took out a small black cat keychain with a little bow on its left ear. smiling to yourself whilst looking at the said keychain, placing it on the table for scaramouche as he walked back again and sat down in front of you.

"hm? what's this keychain for?" he asked confusingly, slightly tilting his head sideways as he takes out his phone from his bag.

you sweatdropped and mentally screamed to yourself, wondering why you even did this. "well.. i feel bad for acting a tiny bit distant two days ago, even if it was on text... i feel the need to explain stuff out to you rather than us being stuck between a barrier of miscommunication.. and basically i have random days where i just get upset randomlly for no reason, so.."

he hummed, understanding where you're coming from. "no, it's alright. as long as you're fine then i don't mind the slight distance. and are you sure it's for no reason? i just want the best for you. so, this keychain's for me?" scaramouche questioned, holding up the cat keychain delicately, as if it would break if not handled carefully.

you sighed in relief at his words, feeling not as uptight as before. "thank you.. and yeah, of course..! and i'll try to message you from now on, then, scara." you smiled but then started waving your hands around frantically as you came to a realization. "wait, i can call you that in real life, right?! if i can't, i'll stop!!"

scaramouche just chuckled and gave a gentle pat to your head, standing up as he heard the call of his name. "call me whatever you like, yn." he spoke, leaving thr table as you hid your heated face to the palm of your hands.

fuck.. i can't do this. layla, nilou, kaveh, help me, he's so pretty..! i'm going to scream any second now.

you chuckled softly to yourself at kaveh's realization, peeking over to look at scaramouche only to see him already looking over at you.

"scara, did you block one of my friends on twitter?" you stiffled in a laugh, finding the situation quite funny, ableit hilarious.

scaramouche just shrugged and took a last sip of his coffee, slightly scowling at the sweet taste but smiled softly as he looked towards you. "probably, i block most people from our school. usually loud and obnoxious people." and he stood up once he finished it, reaching out his hand to you. "its almost 5:30 now, let's go back to the akademiya."

you swear you could've exploded right there and then, and feigned a slight cough in embarrassment as you took his hand. "okay." you managed to let out as he dragged you out of the cafe, his hand leaving yours after reaching outside.

"searching it would take awhile, so it was great of you to take up my offer on drinking one of the coffees i ordered." he gently ruffled your hair, walking ahead first but quickly turned back as he realized you weren't walking beside him. "yn?"

you snapped out of your daze and quickly followed after him, "sorry!" scaramouche nodded and continued walking. and as you walk beside him, you looked down and realized he'd used the keychain to his belt for the time being.

choking back your tears as you recalled the dream from last night, curling up into a ball remembering the terrible things that happened.

you shooked at the sound of a notification, hesitantly grabbing your phone again after getting two more notifications. you reluctantly stood up and unlocked your door and went to nilou's room.

walking up to her door, you faintly knocked with no energy. not to your surprise, she immediately opened the door and let you in. holding your right hand, she leads you to her bed with layla already there wide awake.

"nilou.. layla, im so tired. im so tired of everything. im tired of thinking about this so often. im so tired of thinking of him so often." nilou took you into her arms as your voice cracked. "what about me? i know i didnt particularly have feelings for me but I was with him first. why was i so naive? tell me, if i wasnt so naive would everything be okay?"

layla joined into the hug as she spoke, "yn, i know we've talked about this multiple times, if you didn't have any feelings for him at all then you wouldn't be hurt like this. before anything, we need you to understand this."

nilou nodded and hugged you tighter, "please don't get mad at us. we just hope you'd get this since for you to fully get over this situation you'll need to accept and understand that you did have feelings for him, and still do, even if they're faint. i belie-"

nilou couldn't finish her sentence when suddenly the sound of a loud door slam was heard, and the three jumped in unison.

"ice cream. i brought- chocolate ice cream, vanilla ice cream, strawberry ice cream and mint ice cream. all in one bucket." kaveh spoke whilst panting.

you smiled at the sight of him, "thank you, kaveh. please get over here." kaveh soon smiled again, and walked over.

layla huffed, "couldn't you atleast give a warning? you could've shocked each of us to death." and the blonde haired man just laughed, "we all have some important stuff to say to yn, right? just got here as fast as i could."

and the friend group smiled together, as nilou suddenly spoke. "now, where were we? kaveh needs to know what we were telling you."

you groaned as you thought of school, "nilou, layla, i'm gonna go to class first. i may or may not have forgotten my book at class 2C.." you sighed out.

"are you sure you're gonna go alone, right now? there's still 2 hours before school starts... don't you dislike it when you go to class without either kaveh, layla and i since there's a lot of people you don't know?" nilou questioned.

you sighed and stood up, "i'll be fine, i hope.. i just need to get my book quickly since there should be no one right now.. i'll get going now!"

and with that you waved at nilou and went on to go to sumeru class, 2C. not wanting to meet absolutely anyone.

i guess that'll change without you knowing, right?

you don't know how long you've been walking.

it's so empty, so quiet, and so dark.

you thought to no one, but yourself.

..and you've reached class 2B.

you sighed, and finally got the book you needed with no one in sight. "i should seriously get going."

walking outside with your head down, you nearly bumped into someone.

"oh- i'm sorry." you let out, without sparing a glance at the person in front of you. and the said person chuckles and suddenly pat your shoulder, and spoke. "who would've thought this is what our first meeting would turn out like?"

and with that, you swiftly looked up. only to be met with the face of scaramouche- the pretty eyes guy. "wait, i'm sorry! i didn't think it would be you- is this your class?"

"mhm, i always get here early. what are you doing here? i mean, if you were in my class, then i would've noticed you long ago."

you just pushed the lingering thoughts of his last words to the back of your head, "i kind of.. may have, accidentally left my book here.." you sweatdropped.

"what's up with you and leaving books? anyway, class is starting in about a few minutes. don't want you getting stuck here now, hm?" he said and pat your head.

you just nodded at him with a smile, trying to push the feeling of flusteredness inside you. "-yeah. again, sorry for nearly bumping into you.. and i'm glad we finally got to talk in person. i'll get going now!" you said at him, and waved your goodbyes.

and with that, you left to go to your own class with your thoughts. i thought there was way more than 1 hour before school starts..? fuck, i didn't even bring my phone.

kazuha stared at the two's interaction and snickered to himself, "well. you two are cute together, aren't you?" he teased his fellow friend. scaramouche just scowled at him, "not. a. word."

• IM SO SORRY FOR THE LATE UPDATE 😭😭 i had to go to the mall for a school project yesterday and fell asleep while writing..

waiting for kaveh to walk in, you smiled from ear to ear from what you're feeling today. nilou chuckled seeibg you smile, "you've gone so far, yn. though i believe this is just a start for a new page in your story." she spoke.

you soon heard a knock and the door soon opened, revealing the male you all were waiting for.

"ynnn!" he shouted and tackled you in a hug. not expecting it, you both fell down from the couch you were just sitting on.

nilou hurriedly took a picture for memories and joined into the group hug, with layla quickly following after.

sighed, elated from everyone hugging you as you held back tears of happiness. "i feel so free now, and i wont have to worry about what i feel about him anymore. i've moved on, i finally moved on." you choke out and started laughing.

kaveh ruffles your hair, "well, how about it? this deserves a celebration. where do you wanna go?"

you start thinking hard, until something clicked.

"karaoke!!"

you hugged everyone again once you've reached the dorms, "thank you again for today!! it was so fun screaming so many taylor swift songs, but now my throat is kind of.. at it's limit..." you managed to say.

the tree returned the hug, "my throat's at it's limit too, i mean who can blame me! it's taylor swift. anyways, gotta go now or else my phone would die." kaveh spoke and left.

everyone else soon got inside and yawned in unison. laughing together, nilou spoke. "i guess everyone needs some rest after tonight."

"definitely. good night, you two!"

reaching your room, you took out your headphones and quickly played the song kazuha said he liked, ditto. a song from 1998.

and slowly, you fell into a slumber.

• kaveh's post is him with nilou and layla, in that pic you were finding clothes to wear while they took a picture in your room and nilou's post is a photo of her singing

• i recommend paying attention to good parts' lyrics since it has a connection with this chapter 🫶🏻
