Today’s amazing vegan brunch was tempeh sautéed with sweet apples in a banana, butter and raspberry sauce ‘til golden brown. Behind every animal-based product, there is a victim. Whether it be food, clothing, or in this case carpets, innocent animals are exploited needlessly.

Note: Although this video was filmed in Iran, NO country is innocent when it comes to exploiting animals.

AS DAWN breaks a procession of 12-foot dinghies, powered by outboard motors and steered by Iranian peasants. The Iranians come at daybreak, buzzing across the green water in small boats packed with goats. They deliver their victims to Omani traders.

After two nerve-racking hours spent dodging the Iranian coastguard on their way across the Strait of Hormuz, some of the smugglers reach their destination. As they approach the shore, an unearthly thudding and yelping drifts across the water: each boat is packed with 20-30 seasick sheep or goats, destined for the dining tables of rich Gulf Arabs or to be exploited for their hair.

Animal smuggling is the most common issue for majority of developing countries such as Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan. A high-quality Iranian carpet can cost tens of thousands of dollars, with antique rugs fetching even higher prices.Wool is not the only fiber used. Other animal hair products such as goat hair are also used along with cotton, which is common in foundation yarns.

Please stop paying for animal exploitation, cruelty and abuse.

Coconut Panko Crusted Tofu with Mango Avocado Salad and Coconut Lime Rice By @keto_diet_recipe_ Recipe: Tofu: 1 block extra firm tofu, lightly pressed 1/4 cup coconut or other plant milk 2 tbsp cornstarch Salt 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs 1-2 tbsp coconut oil Mango Avocado Salad: 1 mango 1 avocado 1 small red onion 1 jalapeño (seeded for less heat) Juice of 1 large lime Salt to taste A handful of chopped cilantro Instructions: Finely dice red onion and jalapeño, add both to a bowl, and sprinkle with salt and lime juice. In a shallow bowl, whisk together cornstarch and coconut milk, and to a second bowl add breadcrumbs and coconut flakes. If the coconut flakes are very large, I recommend pulsing them in a food processor until smaller in size. Cut tofu in half, each half into slices, and pat slices dry with a clean kitchen or paper towel. Season from both sides with salt. Add each slice to the cornstarch mix, then press them into the coconut breadcrumbs until coated from all sides. Heat up coconut oil in a large (cast iron) skillet, and fry tofu from both sides for about 3 minutes or until golden. Peel mango and avocado, cut them into medium sized pieces, and add to the red onion jalapeño mix together with the chopped cilantro. Serve tofu and mango avocado salad over some rice, and enjoy! Tip: Toss any leftover coconut panko mix in the hot pan until golden, and serve it as a crunchy topping! 𝙂𝙞𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙙 🍔 @neat.burger is a new(ish) vegan burger restaurant that you may have seen in the press from having backing from @lewishamilton. They currently have 3 lo don restaurants, but have now released a DIY burger kit with @restaurantkits, and I like it a lot! This plant based brand describes their food as ethical and sustainable, and their patties are of their own creation, with similarities comparing to beyond meat or moving mountains. These are exactly the type of vegan burgers I love, and I don’t even think of them as vegan anymore. It’s your standard double cheese burger, American style, with grilled onions and Neat sauce. I love the use of a flour bun, too. This has got me pumped to visit them once they are fully open as their menu extends past just burgers.
