DreamWorks How To Train Your Dragon Deluxe Edition soundtracks.

The 'How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World' Deluxe Edition soundtrack by John Powell was released on the 26th April.

It is the third and final deluxe album instalment that has been released since the first in 2020.

Each album was released by Varèse Sarabande and distributed by Back Lot Music and Universal Studios Music.

They are available to stream digitally on major platforms such as Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, Amazon Music and YouTube.

The albums also come in CD format as well as a 'limited edition' Vinyl format. Each CD album contains 2 CD discs. They were released on physical formats first and then released digitally a month later.

The deluxe editions of each score features all of John Powell's music used in the movies, including extended versions of tracks and bonus unused track demos.

Each track is labelled with a time-stamp which shows when it is used in each film.

The original soundtracks came out with the movies when they were released in 2010, 2014 and 2019. All of the music was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London.

Alternative artwork is used on the deluxe album covers for the second and third soundtracks.

I really enjoyed listening to the third movie deluxe soundtrack.

I think it is a fantastic musical journey through 'The Hidden World' and a brilliant addition to the 'How To Train Your Dragon' soundtrack.

I have added it to my Spotify library along with the other two deluxe albums and music from various other animated movies I like!

Overall, each deluxe album completes the franchise and tells the stories in each one really well.

I am losing my mind right now because I just discovered, completely by accident, that a whole bunch of albums that were put out by Varèse Sarabande in the 90s are finally available digitally after being out of print for years (and pretty obscure even when they were in print). You can see the full list here.

The Lost in Boston and Unsung Musicals albums were a big deal for me back in the day, and being able to actually share them with people now just makes me so happy.

Listened to the brand new collector’s item “City Hall” (1996) (Varèse Sarabande), an expanded soundtrack of the great Jerry Goldsmith.

The movie deals with corruption in city government. That may remind you of “Chinatown”, Roman Polanski’s masterpiece which was also scored by Goldsmith but this music couldn’t be more different. No jazz but wistful, murky, ambiguous orchestral music that evokes corruption in New York politics.

The Mist's original motion picture soundtrack is available on vinyl for the first time for $38 via Death Waltz in collaboration with Varèse Sarabande. The score is composed by Mark Isham (Blade, Warrior, Point Break).

The album is pressed on "Arrowhead Project" (metallic silver) colored vinyl. It's housed in a gatefold jacket with spot-varnish featuring artwork by Daniel Danger with Claire Hummel and a sticker sheet designed by Kimberley Holladay.

The set does, however, include the track “Midwich Shuffle,” a fun number which was created specifically for the 1995 soundtrack, despite never actually appearing in the film. Interest in John Carpenter’s original film scores has never been higher, and his collaboration with Dave Davies of the Kinks is a one-of-a-kind moment in cinematic music history. John Carpenter recruited an unbelievable cast of musicians to record the soundtrack to this sci-fi horror film, starring Ice Cube and Natasha Henstridge. Among the featured players are GRAMMY®-winning musician Steve Vai, most of the heavy metal band Anthrax (including Scott Ian), Elliot Eason of the rock band The Cars, Buckethead of Guns N’ Roses, and Robin Finck of Nine Inch Nails and Guns N’ Roses.
