Well then it's a pretty good thing that Noe likes to humble you and remind you he doesn't like you every chance he gets. But then proceeds to save your life- mixed signals there Noe.

Just a quick scribble before bed as I thought up a fun little idea of Noe falling asleep one night while trying to wait up for Vanitas and by the tome vaniras returns dude is knocked clean out.

And Vanitas being the disaster that he can be. Just sort of stares for a moment. Planning on leaving the idiot be for sleeping on the floor. But his mind runs a little but while. And he gets the urge to just reach out and pome him. Noe doesn't wake up. He finds this hilarious and keels poking him sniggering everytime noe doesn't wake up. Even pinching Noes nose but when all thay does is make his face scrunch up before going back to sleep. Vanitas gets an impulsive idea and wants to go in for a little peck but stops himself because even by vanitas standards that just sleeps wrong to do- so he settles for a little kiss on the headand convinces himself it means nothing just a once off impulse.

🌠 If they could have one wish immediately granted with no conditions, what would they ask for?

It's a cliché answer, but realistically there's not much else that Zul'Jawa would wish for, if fate could be twisted to his singular whim. In a heartbeat, he'd bring Vol'jin back.

It's not that the Darkspear aren't in good hands, with the leadership of Rokhan, Vanira, and the rest of the tribe's elders. But Zul'Jawa still feels that he owes every title and accomplishment he has to Vol'jin placing his faith in him.

There are monuments to Vol'jin's memory that stand in the Echo Isles, Orgrimmar and Zandalar, but the site of the Warchief's fall in the Broken Isles is still a desolate and cursed place. To this day, Zul'Jawa avoids those islands, wishing the Broken Shore remained as it was - buried beneath the waves.

FFXIV Write 2022 Prompt #4: Free Day!

This year, since I was not able to dedicate the whole of Write 2022 towards my alternate universe characters detailed in this post here, I’m using the free days to create a series around them. Hope you enjoy it.

“Thank you all for taking the time to join in to this. Normally, I would prefer to have this discussion in person in the privacy of the Waking Sands, but I am loathe to interrupt the work you are all in the midst of in order to make the journey. So let us begin. Thancred, since you have two potentials to discuss, we shall begin with you. :

“Of course, Minfillia. Our first possible recruit is a Elezen woman going by the name of Vanira Rainshadow. Or possibly Leafshadow, I’ve heard both names used and I’ve not been able to identify which is correct and which is the mistake of an ale-addled mind.”

“Amusing. I trust I don’t need to press upon you the high likelihood that such a name is in fact an alias, do I?”

“You wound me, Y’shtola. And no, you do not. My sources inform me that her true name is in fact Veilette Liis”

“How have I heard that name before?”

“You’ve likely interacted with one Drauchat Liis before, Antecedent. He’s a member of the Syndicate. Veilette is his youngest daughter!”

“Ah, that was it. Hrmmm….I presume you have some insight as to why the daughter of one of Ul’dah’s wealthiest families is adventuring under an alias?”

“I hear the fear in your voice, and I can assure you, it’s unwarranted. She isn’t hiding from them, nor is she accused of any crime in the Sultante. She just simply wishes to have her deeds reflect on her, for good or ill, rather than her family. There are also rumors that the Liis were exiled from Ishgard for heresy, but as information from Ishgard is difficult to come by, I could not verify this. I did find no connections between them and known heretic cells, so if it IS true, it seems likely the charges are false.”

“Forgive me if this seems untoward, but it must be asked. Why would the daughter of a merchant lord undertake the adventurer’s life? One must assume she is likely quite wealthy. Are we certain this is not some dalliance for her, abandoned at the first moment of difficulty?”

“It’s a fair question, Papalymo, but again, not a concern. Spend but a few moments with her, and it will become clear she does not flinch from difficulty. Not only do the hardships of the adventuring life not phase her, she seems to relish them. She is a student of Ul’dah’s pugilist guild, and by all accounts an incredibly devoted one. I’ve seen her in action, and not since Yda have I seen so strong a pair of fists.”

“Ooooh, YES! New sparring partner!”

“Quiet, Yda!”

“…as to her motivations, it would seem that she leaves her family’s business concerns to her elder sister. Veillete is a crusader. Perhaps due to what happened to her family, she is dedicated to righting wrongs. Lest you ask, her idealism is not all consuming. She knows large progress is built on small deeds, and is not fazed or frustrated by only seeing limited progress at the end of the sun. I believe she will leap at the opportunities our organization can offer her to make a greater mark of change on the star.”

“So, in summary, she is capable, resilient, and dedicated. An ideal combination. Well spotted, Thancred. If there are no objections or other questions, I would recommend you begin your recruitment outreach in earnest.”

“I shall. As a point of order, however, I would recommend we not disclose what we know of her origins. Allow her to disclose them as a sign of her trust. Likewise, I would recommend using her alias for the same reason.”

“Agreed. Any objections? No? Very well. Thancred, let us move on to your second potential.”
