Living on my little Delulu state everytime I remember that tweet about Noe being an unreliable narrator
So now I have an au in which the reason why Noe is an unreliable narrator is because he didn't realise Vanitas actually was very much into him and not so much Jeanne
That the scenes between Jeanne and Vanitas were out of context as everything is from Noes point of veiw and now I'm thriving for the au

I was talking to my friend about my Vanoe Beauty and the beast au because I was watching the movie with Noe as belle and Vanitas as beast respectfully and they begged me to make Roland Gaston, and now I can't unsee it and keep laughing
Because of course he wouldn't be exactly like gaston at all, but his unwavering beleif and determination could defiently lead to trouble as we saw in the episode where vanitas and noe when into the catacombs

As Vanitas reveals that he has been investigating a string of murders within Noble society, and how he believes the death of Noe's once fiancee was no accident. Noe ends up hearing some information about this on his own, and wants to know more, wants to know everything Vanitas knows, however, Vanitas is not the type of person to give away information and not get anything out of it.
And what he want's is to get closer to people in this circle to hear more information that could be useful, it's no secret he is not the most well liked, but Noe is.
And so they enter an agreement.
A temporary engagement. So Noe can gain the information he needs and Vanitas can gain the good standing he needs, all the while the two can remain close and sneak off without drawing unwanted suspicion from the gossiping mouths of high-end society.

And at what point does pretending to be in love stop?

Sometimes I look at vanitas and noe and see another similarity in them which could be another reason why Vanitas is able to warm up to Noe.
Neaither of them are fully what they claim to be.
Vanitas because of all the experiments- can no linger be considered fully human. The curse on top of that seperates hom from the rest of humanity making him differant from them. Detaching him from them.
Noe despite being a vampire, is also an archiviste. A being that we know is differant from other vampires from the difference in abilities and what appears to be stamina alone. Noe isn't refurred to as just a vampire by others often, he is usually accociated with being an Archviste first, vampire later.
The same way Vanitas is refurred to as Vanitas [the vampire of the blue moon] first and then human later.
Both of them stand on the border of being their species but also being something else, something almost demonic when compared to their own kind, they are outliers and perhaps this might just be something that ties Vanitas to Noe, because theya really so similar in morw ways than one

Sometimes like now, I snap awake from the dead of sleep with a sudden thought and realisation about vanitas and Noe.
This one being that they were both victims of abuse in childhood.
Vanitas was clearly a victim of Physical abuse, through the doctor. And he knows what happend to him is wrong. He was kept behind walls as an experiment until Luna came and knocked down those walls. Literally and metaphorically.
But then it got me thinking on Noe and I realised, he was a victim of emotional abuse. So much so that he doesn't even realise it still to this day. That the way the teacher spoke to younger Noe despite his calm and kind appearance holds a negative edge towards almost everything. Each compliment usually comes with a hidden insult. In telling noe he is an Archvisite he also places the idea that Noe is more dangerous than others in his head. In telling Noe that he is differant, insted of telling him that is a good thing he insted tells him he has to be more responsible than others.
And while these lessons can appear as simple lessons a parent would give their child we can see the malice behind these actions through the death of Louis.
For one he left out that book on curse bearers for Louis to find under the guise of- free will. When louis saw his grandfather for what he was. A manipulator.
While Noe fed into the manipulation easily, being kept in the teachers estate, behind walls. Given the illusion of free will when it was anything but that.
It was not a coincidence that the teacher showed up only when louis truely lost it. He wasn't regretful that he decapitated his own 'grandchild' nor the fact that he did it in front of Noe. Because it was a lesson. A punishment. To show Noe what happens to those who step out of line. To those who become 'monsters' something that as we know Noe to this day still fears becoming.
There truely is alott to unpack between the similarities between Noe and Vanitas. They are two sides to the coin. Almost everything about them appears to be the opposite of one another even something that could be easily breezed past. I may be reading to far into it. But it honestly fascinates me to think That Noes negative veiw of himself isn't self inflicted. But was inflicted after years of emotional neglect and manipulation. To make him beleive he thought this way out his own free will.
When in reality , just like Vanitas, Noe was also an experiment.
But unlike the Doctor who was loud and physical about his experimentation, mainly done to change the body.
The Teacher was suble and quiet and mysterious. His experiments having to do more with the mind. And who better to test his theories on than a being like Noe, whos ability involves him literally being in other people's heads ?

Can I ask your top 5 (or top 3) favorite characters from Vanitas no Carte? And why you loved them? And your top 5 favorite moments from the series? Thanks if you want to answer....
I literally adore all the characters it's so hard to choose just 5 or 3 because to me they are all so well written and have so much depth to them. They all interwine so wonderfully that I can come up with a million reasons on why I like or am interested in each character!
My obvious choice of favorite [obvious meaning apart of the main character group] is Noe, for multipul reasons and mainly because I relate to him far too much for my own good on some of the things he says or does.
But out of the not obvious choices and main characters I would have to go with, Johann, simply because he is definetly keeping secrets of his own and gives off antagonists vibes and I'm excited to see where his character goes, and why he has such a strong dislike for Noe in the recent chapters. We could assume its just because he was oblivious and nieve and that's why Johann doesn't like him but it's definetly not just that. Johann almost seems to hold a- personal, vendetta agaisnt Noe. Or at least people like Noe. From how he gave him such a suspiciously timed look in Orlocks office. To how he almost always refers to him as- the other one. And never his name when not around him. I'm fascinated by his character.
My favorite moments however are alott easier to pick out: in no particular order.
1. The bell tower scene, I think everyone agrees that it's an amazing scene, and honestly everytime I re-read the manga I find myself so hyper focused on it that I just stare at Noes mysterious little smile for awhile, I really think that's when Vanitas finally started seeing Noe as someone he could open up to one day. That Noe gave him this hope of someone actually believing in him. And also the odd little moment at the end where Noe appoligies genuinely makes me think that never happend. That it's just something Noe wished he said back then and is just adding it in now, now that Vanitas is dead.
2. Little Louis when Noe was Introduced, when he pulled Noe In and said he felt bad for hom because his grandfather took an Interest in him. This is small moment but one that always gives me that- "OOOOH SHITTT" vibewhen I read it. I think that's wuen the manga was really leaning Into- the teacher is sus. And it also shows us that even before Louis found out he was a curse bearer that he knew his grandfather was never up to any good. It makes me wonder if their were other kids, before Noe. That didn't quite meet the teachers expectations and what was done with them.
3. The entire fight scene between Vanitas and Noe with Domi on the ferris wheel. Everything about that entire chapter is everything to me. And Vanitas' "why can't I kill you-" will always get to me. Because ot shows how much Vanitas has changed. How much he has developed enough to of actually let someone in.
4. The moment where Jeanne gets all flustered because vanitas said "I'm telling you. You're lovely" because I'm a multishipper and that oannel was just too adorable , Jeanne looked way to cute.
5. Noe lifted his hand up to talk in count orlocks office. Its small, but compares to hoe he acted the first time he was in orlocls office. It shows he has grown. That he has a better grip on his emotions and even learned to communicate better. First time he was in orlocls office he wouldn't hear anyone out and was determined to prove that the book heals people, while now. He raised his hand. And asked why no one calls Dante and his group by their names. Even though he truely detests people beigrefurred to anything but their name. Which names me wonder. Is their something else in Noes past that he has forgotten. Some point in his life where he wasn't referred to as Noe. Or even by a name at all. First he gets mad for Vanitas abiut vanitas being referred to as a number. Then mad at vanitas for only ever calling him that vampire, and then confused on why Dante and squad are only referred to as Dhams. Which would be curious concidering his teacher mainly uses a nickname for him and not his actual name most of the time.
And finally of course. The iconic "I'm glad you are the person you are now vanitas" scene on the roof.
Honestly their is definetly more. But it's late and my brains slowing down so for noe just the ones that i can remember, I could probually make a top 5 moments list for every character at this point if I'm Honest

I have a deep feeling that Asamines brither is going to really really not like Arajin.
I'm starting to notice that Mohoro and Asamine seem to be parelles of one another. The complete opposite in many ways such as how-
Mohoro appears sweet on the outside but is feirce and selfish on the inside [I don't mean this in a bad way I absolutely love Mohoro] while Asamine seems intimidating and tough on the outside but is a softy and compassionate on the inside.
Both have older brothers, though we've only seen little on Asamines brither we can say, he appears to be outwardly responsible and appears put together while Marito appears more laid back and dresses in a messier fashion.
Both appear to care for their siblings.
But where I'm inclined to beleive Asamines brother won't like Arajin. Is how-
Mohoro doesn't like Arajin AT ALL [though that appears to be slowly changing now] and how her brither is basically obsessed with the guy.
And since Asamine is just as Arajen focused and never loses beleif in him. This leads me to think his brither will take the place of early Mohoro and see Arajen for all his negative traits where Asamine won't.
Espeically with episode 6 feeling like the end of the arc. It makes me wonder if his brither will show up in episode 8 if we get a little timeskip

Vanitas no carte theory,
Alright so in my last theory I introduced how there's who differant Kresniks. Hoe the one we are told about is the god. But how there's a similar sounding word thay can be applied to vampires
Tumblr media
That sounds earlie similar to Noes character. But then i thought to myself- hold up a second.
What if, Curse Bearers are just Crusniks? That there was never a name for them or someone convinced the population that curse bearers are untreatable?
As we saw with Louis, Noe was able to snap him out of it. And As we see with Jeanne she has lived pretty long for a curse bearer and has great control over herself until she snaps.
If that is the case it would also explain why Johann has such an obvious dislike of Noe as of the recent chapter. Aside from his obliviousness to how Dhams suffer, Johann almost seems to hold a personal grudge agaisnt him. With hiw he looked at Noe as they were leaving and how he refused to call him anything but "that one" or "that other one" when alone with Dante.
As we know Dhams more than anyone should know how Inhumane it is to not use someone's name when addressing them. Which leads me to beleive that Noe is in fact Crusnik and Johann knows this.
And concidering how we know there's a wide variation of vampire such as the Archvisites being in a league of their own. Its not to far fetched to assume there could be others within the vampire circle who alsk are of a differant species

Do you mind if I ask your top 10 favorite characters (can be male or female) from all of the media that you loved (can be anime/manga, books, movies or tv series)? And why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before.....Thanks...
Oh! I love these types of questions of course! Well my favorite character tends to change every once awhile, so I'll just sort of throw out a few. I don't know if I have 10 because it's been awhile since I've watched anything properly! But here we go! In no particular order-
1. Noe Archivisite: Noe is my favorite character in media at the moment. Specifically Noe in the Manga as opposed to his Anime counterpart. There's just something so interesting abiut him. How he is written to sort of be the eyes on the world. Also his excitement for making new friends and his ability to get lost even under the simplest of circumstances [I can relate to way to much]. But mostly I adore him because his character development is subtle but real, he is flawed but that doesn't make him a bad person. And how he veiws those around him is facinating to read. Honestly I could write an entire analysis of his character . But we would be here all day.
2 . Daisy Buccanan from The Great Gatsby.[book] Though we don't see much of her perspective, what we do see is facinating. She's almost caged in this mystery. We learn enough about her but not everything to the point of understanding her. She's an enigma on writing that cannot be tied down by any accurate term but if I were to try and pair a word to who she is. The first word that comes to mind is. Melancholy. She's a very Melancholic character. Complex in a way that can be read as she is on paper or looked into and explored more deeply.
3. Viktor Frankenstein [from the book] it is no secret to my friends that ti hold a very big place in my mind for deep diving into Frankenstein and the character that is Viktor Frankenstein. Having read the novel 5 times. Each time I find myself with a new outlook on the character. I've grown tired of this narrative that Victor's the villian and honestly I never understood it. Similar to Noe I could make an entire analysis of his character but I doubt very many would be interested. But as a quick run down, I veiw his character as a young boy who is grieving and doesn't know what to do with that grief. A boy who didn't give himself time to greive proper and so threw himself into an old forgotten passion and created something horrifying in the making. A regret he cannot take back that leads to tragedy after tragedy. A character that realised the error of his ways too late and even when he is old. Is not too proud to not admit his wrong doings and even saves another from losing themselves to passions. He is a complex character who I deeply admire and am saddened to see often watered down when it comes to films.
4. 4. Wei Wuxian [The grand Master of Demonic Cultivation] another one everyone probualy saw coming, but I adore the complexities of his character, mainly I adore the entire story but specifically how they push Wei Wuxian as a character that has motivation behind every action. A person who I at least veiwed- As the one good person in a way full of those looking for someone to blame. He isn't all good of course not innocent in the slightest. There's blood on his hands but as the book unravels and we see each life event of his you cannot help but admire him. For what a bright and cheerful person he remained to be even after coming back from the dead. After everything he never once wishes ill upon those who wish it on hom. Insted always bringing it back to how he deserves their erie. He is a facinating character with way to much to say about him that kne simple post can take.
5. Deirdre of the Sorrows [A legend from my country] A tale about a girl that was apperantly cursed before she was born. A prophecy made that everyone took incorrectly that resulted in the death of not only Deirdres lover and brothers in law but herself too. Kicking off one of the biggest wars in Irish Mythology. The Character of Deirdre slowly eroded with time as did many women in irish myths but what remains is still enough to say she was a smart woman who's broken heart and beauty was enough to spark a war. There's many differnat variations of this tale. Some where she lives others where she dies.
But the one in which the scream that was heard from her mother's stomach before she was born. Is the same scream she let's out before dying of a broken heart is my favorite characterisation of her a tragic heroine, who loved so deeply she couldn't live without it.
6. Cinderella [from Disney cinderella] I wrote a whole essay on her for a college paper of which I will not go back into. But basically her character inspired little me to become a better person and for that she is always one of my favorites.
There's definetly more I just can't think of them at the moment
My brain has now gone blank and it's 1 am so I'm afraid this is all I got-

Little thoughts on episode 5.
I didn't want to. But I'm genuinely giving up on Ara as a character all together.
It's like the show forgot that these people interacted withe ach ither before Ara was in the picture ? That literally someone can say something and be ignored yet ara says it and suddenly it's important ?
Don't get me wrong I love character redemption arcs as much as the next person but there's only so much Aras bullshit I can take and I think I'm actually at my final straw with him.
Usually I'm a sucker for when we get the sob stories but I couldn't even bring myself to care about Ara in the flashback he gave us. It actually had me rolling my eyes to the sky.
I hope them Showing us how he has left Asamine behind TWICE now, once as kids and again in the basement. Is done on purpose and will come back to bite him in the ass later.
Ara is a coward. That is his character trait. And there's nothing wrong with that but when yiu pair him next to someone like Asamine. Who grew to be kind and righteous. With this never ending faith in those he beleives in. Its hard to find anything redeeming about Ara.
Asamine for the love of God please I am begging you. Give up on this man. Genuinely give up on hi.. I know it will hurt like crazy when we finally see Asamine give up on Ara. But I NEED it to happen and for him to notice his actual best friend Zobu who always comes in clutch when we need him.
I genuinely think and hope that Asamine losing faith in Ara will be the breaking point that finally pushes Ara to change. Because right now his main motivation only heing to get laid or for the girls he is trying to lay is genuinely so predictable

Also gotta say how much I love that Noe and Lady Archivisite clearly share so many similarities personality wise. I'm dying to see them Interact
The way Noe is a scatterbrain.
How the teacher refers to aldy Archivisite as one
How quick Lady Archivisite is to switch her personality and get mad at the teacher
And how quick Noe is to switch his tone when vanitas is involved.

I have been thinking that Noe isn't a full vampire for quite sometime, that even if he is he wouldn't be called a vampire but something else but I've never been able to find anything to back myself up.
Until we got introduced to the story he read as a child, a story he and Richie bond over reading in chapter 62.2, The adventures of Kresnik.
As the idea is presented to us is Kresnik was a Dham that solved mysteries between the humans and vampires with golden eyes and the ability to neutralise other Vampire abilities.
We also learn these books would of have to of been printed on the sly, which again adds layers to how Noe had the story as a child. Meaning his teacher was the one to obtain this tale, which is no surprise when we find out who the author is.
As we know Noe has abilities unlike any other Vampire even outside of his ability to read memories, pointed out by Domi who in one of her first appearances with Vanitas, assumed vanitas wanted to use Noes 'abilities' not just ability.
Though he obviously doesn't have gold eyes or the ability to neutralise other vampires [as far as we know] we also have another mystery that may tie into golden eyes. The fact that as a kid he appeared with a bandage over his eye for quite some time.
and If Noe and Marquis Machina are both Archivistes that adds more layers to Teacher pointing out how she doesn't need to act with her former dignity around him [former as though referring to before the genocide of the Archivisites]
Also the appearance of Marquis Machina before Noe was also suspicious. Though the teacher claimed she was around due to the attacks on humans for her to appear in front of Noe was purposeful. As though checking on him.
I have many theories on this so please buckle in.
Theory 1. Noe is or related to Kresnik. 1. Kresnik they point out was a very kind but foolish character something we see with Noe. He helped both humans and vampires. That Marquis Machina can see the future and create this story based on it or knew the original Kresnik
Which would explain why Teacher knew where Noe was and when in order to get him from the auction.
Theory 2: Kresnik is going to be the one giving this drug around. I did some digging and found Kresniks are mentioned in quite a few vampire media's.
But if we look at the actual term kresnik
Tumblr media
A god of the sun, opposed to the moon this may be the first major mention of a character that represents the sun.
Then if we look at vamoire media and its relationship with a similar term
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both scream- oh no. To me for if these were used as inspiration we could see a new villian enter the scene. Or Noe himself of a Crusnik.
We see him as a kid drink Louis blood. He also drinks Domi. He often thinks if blood though vampires don't need to drink it to live. And as we see. Noe is stronger than ither vampires. Regenerating limbs. Having insane strength without training. And not to mention that fight with vanitas in which his hand takes the almost claw like monster form.
Theory 3. Aka my most backshit insane theory.
The theory that all of this is a time loop. That the teacher and Marquis Machina watch time and time again with one thing changing slightly every time. That everything that is happening. Is a story. The story of a Kresnik.
And if Noe was suppose to be Kresnik in this tale the thing that changed was the teacher taking him in. Completely derailing the course his story was meant to take. And the teachers instance on freewill. Is to see if the story will get itself back in track without any intervention. If everything truely is inevitable.
Not to mention we still don't know Noes true name.
