remember when richelle casually dropped that there was a whole psychiatric ward in the most dangerous moroi prison containing tons of spirit users while rose lissa and eddy are attempting to break victor out of prison and then just never mentions it again for a whole book and a half of the series AND all six spin-off books
VAMPIRE APPRECIATION WEEK 2023
day 1: favorite vampire
I tried to be a better person for her– but it was to impress her, to get her to want me. But when I’m around you, I want to be better because… well, because it feels right. Because I want to. You make me want to become something greater than myself. I want to excel. You inspire me in every act, every word, every glance.
– Adrian Ivashkov, The Golden Lily
adrian is the sort of character it’s hard not to want to like because of how indulgently he’s written in both VA and in bloodlines, so i’m hopeful the show adaptation does actually make him someone who reckons with his more specific flaws, attitudes, and beliefs beyond just “being a tortured soul” and dealing with his mental illness/spirit afflictions. i love the character growth he has especially in bloodlines, but it’s hard not to see how it happened at the expense of a lot of people, including rose and other dhampirs, jill, and sydney. it’d be great to see him acknowledge his royal status as a privilege and things like pressuring lissa into his unhealthy approach to spirit early on and his past (sort of) biases against dhampirs and humans
I like the VA movie, like LIKE like. Love the cast, Rose and Christian especially, and although i hate Danila with a ponytail, I think he nailed his part. I mean the way he looked at Zoey was sooo Dimitri
If they would've continued with the movies, my fancast for Sydney would 100% be Dianna Agron, I mean look at her
Yosef Pattinson/Joseph Pattinson; 27,(He/Him)
(I FINALLY wrote Joey's backstory. I haven't created a face for him yet because I want it to be a surprise when you all see him. So as of right now, they have the same face.)
Joseph also known as “Joey” is Yosef's twin brother; He was born in the figurative sense because, during his parent's appointments, they were told they were having twins. Yosef was born alone there were never two babies because early on in the pregnancy; Yosef ate his twin. The womb still created the illusion that it was still another baby. Yosef started to see signs of Joey during his toddler years. You could always see him making space for Joey or even talking to the air. Yosef parents thought it was an imaginary friend stage and he would get over it. Over time Yosef became unmanageable, them leaving him with his grandparents. Joey started to make more and more appearances leaving his parents disturbed. It was times when Joey would take over Yosef for days and torment other kids. As the years went by Joey became stronger, even being able to change the way Yosef looked, giving him a different face and more height.
Joey feeds off the loneliness and naiveness of Yosef, which makes Joey act obsessive and controlling. Yosef could never have any friends because Joey would deem them not good enough to be with them until Ashayaa came. Something turned in Joey making him appear more, trying to woo her and make her, his.
Tragically, one day Yosef and Joey had an argument about Ashayaa. The argument began to become aggressive leading to a fire to start killing Yosef. Joey's will to live was too strong for him to die to the likes of Yosef. Leading him to save Yosef’s body, leaving Joey in full control.
