"...That was on December 25th at 3 A.M., local time." (Narrator)

Notes: In the books released post-series production and 02's conclusion, Steve was revealed to be the very first confirmed Jewish American Chosen Child, a significant step forward for the Digimon franchise, as it acknowledged the Jewish community living in real-world America.

Because Steve is Jewish, Steve would have been personally celebrating Hanukkah that year, not Christmas (hence I left out the last subtitle referencing Christmas to prevent confusion).

Chanukah in 2002, when 02 officially takes place, however, was November 29th ~ December 7th, and these scenes took place closer to Dec. 25th (early 3 A.M.). But that doesn't mean Steve, as a Jewish American, wouldn’t have noted Hanukkah (or Chanukah) at all earlier that year, and it’s good to note that when we're discussing potentials of 02′s “real-world based” “timeline”!

(Basically, what Steve is doing here is joining in on, via being invited by being a Chosen Child who is able and willing to help, an Interfaith gathering of individuals that was originally meant to simply send corrupted by virus Digimon back into the Digital World, and was not actually a "holiday" focused gathering initially!) :) {If Steve joins them after the fact is unknown, but either way, Steve would have to be invited and it would have to be acknowledged that Steve as an individual does not celebrate Christmas religiously.}

In the scenes above, Steve is one of only two U.S. Chosen that are also given spoken lines to personally thank and acknowledge Daisuke Motomiya's help (along with the rest, but also specifying Daisuke). {Michael aside, as even Michael doesn't get to comment verbally.}

hollowhead rant bc i've been obsessing over ava/avm and i cant stop thinking abt the hollowheads

victim is that character i want to beat the shit out of and then hug them until all their pain goes away. omfg victim was completely ripped from any chance at a normal life. he was deleted not even 2 minutes after they were created, and when they get to live, they say "fuck you alan" and create a whole ass company out of spite. and if hollowhead age is 0 years old at creation, that means he was not even 16 when he made rocket corp a thing. all because they couldnt let his deletion go, which honestly, completely fair

chosen. oh, chosen. the universe really said "hey wouldnt it be funny if we made that one guys life a living hell" and threw everything at him. he was thrown into a "survival of the fittest" situation the moment he was created, and alan just used him as an ad blocker like he was nothing but a tool. the first ever true friend he made was created to kill him, and the friendship failed bc neither knew how to fucking communicate. and then hes tortured on his GODDAMN BIRTHDAY. his BIRTHDAY. BY HIS OWN BROTHER. WTF VICTIM?? he dragged second along to help him bc he was desperate to escape the mercs but all he accomplished was getting them both captured. he must be feeling so much guilt rn omfg (to be fair it was a shit move to pull but also i completely understand his decision)

we dont know much abt dark, but it must be difficult being coded to kill your best friend. maybe the code was altered when she took chosens hand, but as far as i can tell all it did was give it powers. so assuming the code stayed, that means that dark had to fight with its own code for however long she and chosen were living together. i know for a fact its exhausting to fight with your own brain, and i cant imagine having to do it for however-many-years straight. i dont know if i want dark to make a comeback in later episodes, but i definitely wanna know more abt her.

second coming is such a fuckin sweetheart. theyve been through sm and they havent deserved any of it. they literally watched rest of the cg get ripped from them FOUR TIMES (alan ending rygb, dark murdering rygb, chosen kidnapping second, parkour episode) like they must have seperation anxiety or smth like that at this point. also claustrophobia like theyve been forced into too many tiny boxes. they literally just accepted the fact they were gonna be helping chosen when second was literally forced. they still went out of their way to try and save chosen. theyve attacked whoever hurt their friends when rygb all go down. if we continue to go with the "all hollowheads are 0 when created" logic, second is nine. NINE. turning ten this october but WTF. THAT IS A CHILD. NOT EVEN DOUBLE DIGITS

ALL THE HOLLOWHEADS ARE CHILDREN WITH THE "0 at creation" LOGIC (i mean, cho and vic are technically like 16, but still) can i PLEASE just shove them into a massive pillow fort with blankets and hug them?? is that SO MUCH TO ASK ALAN

I am. I am tied up in all sorts of knots over this pending divorce hearing. And the pending CPS case.#<- That's going to court btw. Dallas has had a full year to do the mandatory six weeks counseling and has opted not to finish it‚ so they'r #taking him to court over it to codify that he is not allowed to have anything to do with us.#Fine by me‚ him being legally prevented from having anything to do with us has always been my hope. It'll be a hassle for me having to #*also* appear in court‚ but overall a small price to pay. And it also removes my last theological objections to the divorce;#the unbelieving has chosen to depart indeed.#So! *Good* news. But also not not-stressful.#(My back is *killing* me and it gets worse the closer February 6th looms.)#On the other hand I REFUSE to worry. Because there is No. Way. that God would bring us this far just to abandon us now.#And His fingerprints are *all over* the last two years.#(I am still not precisely 'looking forward' to the court appearances.)#Anyway. there’s something beautiful in how we can try on different faces and names and personas and caricatures of self in trying to figure out where we most feel comfortable being ourself, and it’s beautiful how so many of these attempts at self expression are (in my experience) done almost entirely around strangers and people whom I don’t know, so the stakes are nonexistent

if I embarrass myself or the me I am for the day isn’t the Me I want to keep then it doesn’t matter

I’lll never see them again, and at worst, I’ll be a fun story they tell their friends about

here’s a PSA from The Most Tired Library Worker:

do not reshelve your own library books

especially do not allow CHILDREN to reshelve their own library books

there are a hundred thousand items in our collection and we are a relatively SMALL library

if things are not in the place they belong WE DO NOT KNOW THEY STILL EXIST because IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND THEM (this is not your home bookshelf where you just scan until you find what you’re looking for, scanning these shelves takes LITERAL DAYS and a TEAM OF PEOPLE and is a major housekeeping effort)

please just put books you’re not taking home on one of the labeled carts, or say ‘we’re not taking these’ and leave them at the front, or pile them up somewhere for us to find later, or LITERALLY ANYTHING other than allowing a 5-year-old to just fling them willy-nilly onto shelves

#babble tea (blacklist this for less chatter)#we did so much shelving #SO MUCH #it did not stop all day we were checking in frantically to try to get out from under the piles of returns #and then looking at the carts as things piled up because we were mostly too busy to shelve #in slowly escalating terror #so the fact that people passively watched their children Destroy the children's area three times #over the course of the day #is making me very grumpy #what did I ever do to you parents of wild children #why have you and your progeny chosen to torment me this way #why do you do it EVERY WEEK #anyway today is over and tomorrow is my weekend and I'm going to play dead #I was going to run errands but honestly fuck that noise I'm EXHAUSTED #there were SO MANY RETURNS and SO MANY PEOPLE and ONLY TWO OF US (sometimes three) to deal with it all #anyway the moral of the story is that unless you are 110% sure you know where it goes please don't reshelve it #because that is actually more work for us #and depending on whether we find the item and how quickly that happens #we may wind up unpocketing to replace it #the other moral is that I get snippy when I'm tired

Can't get over the Berlermo bed scene, Alex Pina really wrote that, he really decided the best way to them discuss Sergio's reaction to the plan is to lay next to each other in Martín's small bed. He could have written it many other ways but chose this, implying bed-sharing is something common for berlermo. they are just like this in their daily life.

Same here anon, LOL. He both wrote it in that way, and they acted it out in that way. Which means they just share beds all the time, and are always casually touchy feely with each other, while Andres' wife of the day is probably lying outside on the couch because Andres insisted the couch was bad for Martin's back or something LMAO

not nearly enough people are fuming about the cass review. do you understand the eventual implications? trans people in the uk will be considered children up until the age of 25, and denied HRT/surgery/even basic measures like legal name change and social transition. all owing to a biased and largely unscientific study. you know what “treatment” for gender dysphoria is recommended by the review instead? conversion therapy.

this will kill people and they know it, because they prefer us dead and out of sight. the government, the NHS and even the opposition have made this clear again and again. a twenty-five year old can have sex, get married have children, join the military, earn a living, be halfway up the corporate ladder or highly successful in their chosen career field by that age, but they can’t transition under NHS rules. this is a death sentence for trans teenagers and they are going ahead with it. it’s trans genocide, same as across the pond.

i’m so afraid for my trans siblings and our futures. i’m so scared for myself. what are we to do if not even the party that is supposed to be on the “left” gives a shit about our safety and mental health as long as they get voted in? labour have become tories with a red coat of paint. it all feels hopeless
