i feel like i’d heard abt an au like that before too but the only one that comes to mind rn is this one where suguru’s a barista.. n satoru is soooo starstruck just instantly like he even waits outside in the rain for suguru to clock out 😖😖 in love with how op drew them too the pouty look on satoru’s face in the second one kills me every time like aaaahhh they’re so pretty </33 prettiest boys ever….

BUT OKOK i think i’ve figured it out …. i’ve ALSO seen that specific reincarnation au (i love it sm it hurts OUR PRETTY BOYS…..) and i think i’ve also seen some other art for another series entirely where the reincarnated characters met in a museum… so my brain probably just . mashed those two together PHDJDH 😭😭 but ok we ball I’M SO GLAD UR CURIOUS i thought abt it a bit more before going to bed yesterday and my thoughts spiralled into a whole plot PHDJDGB LET ME KNOW WHAT U THINK…….. (warning!! this got long ALSO tagging mickey obv i need stsg nation approval for this @softgirlgonehaywire)

ok so !!!! first of all. satoru is a stem boy in this au. that’s simply how he is. he has literally no interest in The Fine Arts, and just so happens to get dragged to a museum for a school trip. he doesn’t really see the appeal yk?? just a bunch of stuffy rich people (he’s rich too but he’s not like the others he’s down w the poor <33) walking around like zombies….. he just hates the atmosphere bc he sincerely loves interacting w people and everyone in the museum is just staring at the paintings and sculptures and so on w/o even talking abt them :/// yeah. he does Not like art. (he just doesn’t Get It yet!!)

then we have suguru. our beloved. suguru is an art student <3 a bit pretentious about it <33 goes to a prestigious art school and lives and breathes art. he LOVES going to museums and exhibits and galleries just to dissect the pieces, think about their meaning, study them up close…. similarly to satoru i think his feelings about art have a lot to do with his yearning for connection and companionship; satoru doesn’t like art because he sees it as an isolated activity (average stem boy smh he just doesn’t Get it), suguru loves art because it gives him the chance to connect with painters new and old. he’s sooo enamored with the idea that he can forge a kind of connection with someone long dead, just by looking at something they made with their hands and mind. it’s so dear to him. (this is important for the Themes ok bear with me </3)

so!!! basically!!!! satoru is a stem boy, suguru is an art girl, and they happen to be in the same art museum at the same time. one of them is bored out of his mind, dragging his friends around and generally being a disturbance to the peace, the other is delicately and thoughtfully going from painting to painting. lost in his own little world.

they stumble upon one particular painting at the same time.

it depicts a man with long, black hair, clad in robes and smiling with the sun sinking behind him. his face is partially obscured, a little blurry, but his smile is framed almost as the center of the piece. it’s beautiful. the colours are warm, the brushstrokes are delicate, and there’s a tenderness to it that neither of them can quite put their finger on. but it’s so fervent. when they look down in search of the name of the piece and its painter, they see the following:

my one and only — unknown artist. (this is pure love starts playing in the bg)

satoru, for whatever reason, can’t take his eyes of this particular painting. he’s mesmerized. he’s never felt like this before — never felt so moved by a piece of art. suguru can’t turn away, either, but he thinks to himself that he feels a little sick. he’s never looked at a painting and felt as if it was looking right back at him. and no matter how hard he tries, he can’t get a sense of the artist’s intent. he feels like he should be able to, but it’s too out of reach.

finally, suguru notices satoru standing only a couple steps away, and asks what he thinks. smiling politely. satoru is completely entranced, but meets suguru’s gaze, and all he can verbalize is that it’s pretty.

suguru loves to be a contrarian — but this time, he genuinely can’t bring himself to agree.

ok so here i’m thinking they fight a bit <33 it’s how they get to know each other (in typical stsg fashion)!! suguru really doesn't like this painting for some reason, while satoru really loves this painting (for some reason), and feels oddly protective over it. so suguru makes a throwaway comment that pisses satoru off, he gets a little hissy, they bicker a bit, that’s all. suguru offhandedly mentions that he goes to an art school. satoru ends up remembering this.

aaaaand here is where the Plot begins <33 i hope u are still with me logan & mickey here is a treat and a snack for u to munch on while reading because tbh i dont think im stopping anytime soon (you did this 😞😞): 🍨🧋 🍧🍵

satoru, as previously stated, is a stem boy. he’s never cared about art. but this painting makes him feel something, something that he’s never felt before. he’s never felt so fulfilled, and after some contemplation he realizes that must be because he’s an art boy at heart. he’s found his true calling.(<- his own assumption lol) he’s just so!! excited!!! he buys a big canvas and expensive brushes and sits down to make his Masterpiece, certain that it’ll end up mending the hole in his heart, the feeling he’s been plagued by for as long as he can recall — that something is missing from his life. (satoru assumes that this something is art.) (it’s actually suguru.)

after a very eventful evening, satoru discovers that he can’t fucking paint.

and he’s horrified by this revelation bc he’s a GENIUS. he can literally do Anything if he just tries. but he sucks at art. he just can’t do it. he sits down and tries his best to paint but nothing comes out well. there’s a gap between his imagination and reality and that just irks him. he doesn’t know what to do. he’s so used to never needing anybody’s help, but it sure would be nice if he had an art student to help him out a bit…..

……………………

satoru ends up hunting suguru down <33 by going to every single art gallery he can find in tokyo. suguru calls him a stalker. satoru asks suguru to tutor him. suguru thinks he’s insane. (but obv ends up agreeing bc no one can resist the allure of a stem boy finding his true calling) (mickey this wasnt even an intentional parallel to the vamp fic we’re just connected through the hivemind i swear)

and!! while we’re on the topic of suguru — he’s currently having a bit of a crisis because he’s never truly encountered a piece of art that’s made him feel as uncomfortable as my one and only did, and even though he knows it’s a good thing he can’t help but suddenly feel a tiny bit afraid of art. something about the smile of the man in the painting makes him feel a little nauseous, a little guilty. he can’t focus as much when he’s painting anymore, and it bothers him.

he also can’t stop thinking about the white haired little freak in the museum, who seemed so out of place, but looked so sincerely captivated by this one single painting. what does he see in it that suguru doesn’t? he just doesn’t get it.

he figures tutoring said freak will give him some answers.

aaaaand that’s the plot!!! they end up bonding through art and both take their time trying to figure out why they’re so fixated on my one and only. which obv happens to be the final work of satoru gojo, dedicated to suguru geto to keep his memory alive <333 nobody knows exactly where the painting came from, but it’s said to be a symbol of true love. a connection that transcends time. etc etc etc. u get me. satoru and suguru can’t help but feel drawn to it, and it helps them find each other again. they have this feeling towards the painting, towards each other, that they can’t quite put their finger on. something out of reach.

(one time, satoru dreams of a man with a severed arm, framed by the sunset, and wakes up with tears in his eyes.

he feels as if he’s forgotten something important.)

WAH i relate really hard to ur feelings of being burnt out from work and the weather and everything...genuinely jobs r hell im so tired by the end i cant even draw i do wanna say that i build up motivation and creativity by looking what other people are doing. i love coming up with ocs and premises, so a lot of what i want to work on is visualization. i try to be specific in what im studying, so i look a lot towards design and composition of an illustration, with a minor focus on mood and style. in this regard, you're an incredible inspiration. you have wonderful diversity of character poses and composition, a very appealing style, and a MASTERFUL use of color, using both bold and subtle tones highly effectively and in alignment with the mood of rest of the piece. i think youre deeply creative in how you build and frame the moments you depict, and you do so in a manner that uses your incredible technical skill. i hope art will be fun for you soon, bc i love seeing what you create.

i know how difficult it can be to gather up the energy to write smth out like this, so i just wanted to say thank you , above all, for taking the time to listen to & reassure me. like thats so freaking nice of you to do.. you didn't have to, but you did && it means so much, especially knowing that you are going through something similar..T__T i hope you can find some time for yourself amid it all and that you're given the space to fully enjoy your ocs again and work towards the sort of visualization that youve always wanted to have in your own art. i have faith in u!! like u have faith in mee <3 .

& you are so right in saying that this is one of the best times to stop and actually look and. deconstruct, digest the works around u . so many incredible artists out there w their own ideas, with their own interpretations, styles, etc. that is there to be studied and admired. soo much art that has been created & will be created , and that it will be ookayy in the end... so hard 2 remember but genuinely so valuable to keep in mind.

hi I'm putting this on anon cause. Cause. ANYWAY I saw your comic because i was scrolling thru the koga tag and I just wanted to say that it was very . touching I suppose? I struggle a lot with gender and not even really in the same way but it was just kind of a nice reminder that hey!!! other people are out there who struggle just like me!!! and then I scrolled through your blog and realized you had drawn a bunch of reikoga art I loved LOL so... keep doing you I suppose! thank you for the wonderful reikogas, and thank you for your comic :)

idek gender is so weird to figure out and it can be fluid too.... i never really struggled with self-identification, i suppose, but the perception of others really stresses me out a lot.... it took years to casually state i use it/its because i was scared of getting rejected, even by other trans people. (not that i dont get why someone would hate it/its. i deeply get it. its been used against us enough.) so that was a bigger step for me to overcome that fear and it wouldnt have been possible without seeing others expressing themself freely.

when i made the comic, it really worried me whether it accurately delivered my thoughts and feelings without spoonfeeding literal explanations... but, you included, a handful of people told me it inspired some thought process in them or felt relatable/comforting. which is honestly like.... the best possible feeling ever..... its wonderful to get compliments on art but even greater to know you struck a cord with someone or inspired others to get creative themselves.

I’m so here for all this book hate, and I’m just laying in bed kicking my feet besides you listening to all these people rant. And I so agree with the ‘this book is gay’ thing. Like ESPECIALLY now during pride month everyone is like read these 5 queer books and the only thing it says is oh this mc is bi, oh it has a trans character, oh the main ship is sapphic. I’m like okay, cool, what more? Is that it?

I had this with ‘the priory of the orange tree’ which I loved, but the only thing I was told is ‘there’s a sapphic ship’ and ‘it’s high fantasy’ which yeah it is to both. But that’s not even what the book is about and you could’ve just told me what it was about and told these other things. just imagine if they would do that with other big fantasy books ‘yeah it’s fantasy and straight, enjoy’

Same thing with they both die at the end. Fun book, not revolutionary, I agree what the person said, the mcs are the most boring in the book. But it’s gay so it’s amazing… sure

lol yeah i love a good hater sesh <3 and YEAH like. i understand people compiling lists of books w certain types of representation etc bc obviously there are lots of people who want to seek out books that reflect certain experiences etc, but. if the rec begins and ends with just 'it's [x type of queer] and [x genre]!" then i'm like....ok. anything else or....

and i do think it happens particularly often with queer books but also i don't think it's entirely devoid from straight books either lol it's just that instead of going "it's straight and fantasy!" they'll go "dark love interest and fantasy" or some equally surface level label lol. same with the lists that are like "dark academia books" etc i think...i mean i don't necessarily know that this is a new phenomenon but maybe it's just become more visible/common 2 me bc of the shifting landscape of social media that prioritizes shortform algorithmic content but it feels like this widespread practice of packaging books as aesthetic products more than like. literature. if that makes sense...idk still parsing through my thoughts on this but. yeah just feels like a very surface level way to engage w books--and the thing is it seems like it's a growing way that writers/publishers are marketing their books as well. like i don't really fault the authors for this bc ik in this day and age they have to do a ton of legwork to market their own shit to get it like picked up by publishers or whatever and so they kinda have to play the game (<- try desperately to go viral on tiktok) but every time i see a video that's like a writer going "would you read THIS??" and then it's like. a list of their protagonist's identities and then just a general/vague nod to some subgenre that sounds like a pinterest board title i throw up in my mouth a little ngl. and it's not like i think literature is some sort of Higher Art Form that must always be Venerated it's more that consumerism feels so fucking inescapable and every art form has to be boiled down into something that will go viral on tiktok these days and it makes me want 2 scream!!

Comic books that you should read!!! Yes you!!! Right now!!!

These are comics I really enjoy! I'm trying to stick to slightly more obscure comics, preferably stuff that's a little newer, but that's by no means a rule! This is my list baby, I make the rules!

#1: Local Man (Image Comics, 2023)

Local Man follows Jack Xaver, who was once known as the superhero Crossjack before being unceremoniously kicked out of his team and legally barred from any vigilante activity. Moving back in with his parents in his destitute former hometown, Jack starts to unravel a conspiracy that has ties to both his old team and his old town.

It rules! It's funny and heartfelt and thrilling and if it were a TV show you'd never stop hearing about it. It's also one of the few modern original Image series that actually takes place in the "Image Universe", so it's packed with references to characters like Darkhawk. You don't need to know all these guys to enjoy the comic by any means, but it's fun for long-time fans.

Most of all, I'm a fan of the basic conceit of this comic: it looks at The Dark Age of Comic Books with the same reverent-yet-critical eye that so many other comics used on the golden and silver ages. I think that rules! A lot of this stuff deserves reappraisal!

#2: The Wrong Earth (Ahoy Comics, 2018)

The concept for this is pretty simple: what if Adam West's Batman got sent to the world of the Nolan trilogy, and Christian Bale's Batman got sent to the world of the 1966 TV show?

They hit all the dramatic and comedic beats you could imagine coming from this premise, and a few you probably couldn't think of. It's not just a one-dimensional parody, though: really sharp writing and an engaging mystery elevate what could easily be, like, a Dorkly video into something special. Which is to say: if you think this premise sounds good you'll love this comic, and if you think it sounds stupid you'll probably still like this comic.

There are some cool character designs here, but my favorite is the villain in both universes:

His name is Number One, and he's a crime boss with an egomania/numbers gimmick. (Sorry for the compressed jpegs)

I imagine "design an original 1960s villain, and then design his edgy 2000s reboot version" would be a difficult prompt for an artist, but Jamal Igle knocks that shit outta the park. Number One really feels like he could fit into Batman's rogues gallery, but he's not a riff on anyone in particular- he's kind of like all of them. The "1"-shaped scar is an especially great touch.

#3: Ice Cream Man (Image Comics, 2018)

Hey, another from Image Comics! And it's my favorite genre, too: horror anthology. If the pic I chose didn't tip you off, this one gets SPOOKAY! The basic premise is that every issue is a one-shot that features a character going through some kind of horrible misfortune. Tying all these tales of woe together is the enigmatic Ice Cream Man, who seems to be somehow torturing all these humans for his own amusement. We eventually learn that he's an evil god-type thing named Riccardus, and he has a good counterpart who's trying to stop him- all the lore stuff is a little vague, but that doesn't mean it's not interesting! The art style used by artist Martin Morazzo is almost uncanny-valley, it reminds me of The Shivering Truth.

Some of the "horror" in this comic is really personal and upsetting, by the way- the one about dementia made me cry. Actually, a lot of these made me cry. Full on snotty gasp-sobbing. 10/10. Riccardus has real sexyman potential if the freaks on this site would ever read something besides fuckin Wayne Family Adventures.

#4: Wayne Family Adventures (DC/Webtoon, 2021)

What? It's cute, fuck you. "eeuuuhhh it's out of character" you sound like a dweeb man

#5: Eight Billion Genies (Image Comics, 2021)

Just like The Wrong Earth, this has a killer elevator pitch: what if every single person on Earth got exactly one wish, all at the same time? Also like The Wrong Earth, it takes it's premise in every angle you can think of- there's wish trading, wish stealing, cities that are kept safe from the chaos of the outside world but you have to give the city government your wish to get in, you name it. No wonder Amazon bought the rights. Keep an eye out for that movie/series, I guess.

Ok, I need some non-image comics.

#6: Giant Days (Boom! Studios, 2015)

Anime fans, this one's for you: you know all those series you love about groups of cute girls just going through their daily lives? Well imagine if those cute girls were over eightee- hey wait where are you going come back

Giant Days is a slice-of-life story about three young women facing the challenges of college life. Apparently it's a spin-off of a webcomic with like 15 years of strips, but I don't care about all that and neither should you! It's a little like gilmore girls in terms of tone. The dialogue is snappy, all the characters play off each other in ways that's fun to see, and there's this 7 foot tall Australian rower chick who's completely obsessed with her reedy loser boyfriend. It's just comforting. It's like a big plate of mashed potatoes, this comic.

Hey, speaking of slice-of-life:

#7: Megg, Mogg and Owl (Indie/Fantagraphics, 2013ish)

This has the honor of being the only comic on this list that's been adapted to another type of media, in the form of a segment on Justin Roiland's weird kinda-shitty Hulu halloween special. Not much of an honor, I guess.

Anyways! MM&O is about a group of "friends" who live together in drug-addled squalor. Megg is a chronically depressed witch just waiting to die. Mogg, Megg's boyfriend, is a talking cat who just wants to keep the degenerate lifestyle they've built for themselves stable, and Owl is a neurotic sex addict who wants to make something of himself but doesn't want to lose his only companions, and Werewolf Jones is a drug-dealing sociopath. It's like Peep Show! I absolutely love this comic, I reread it constantly, but I'm having a hard time pitching it.

If Giant Days is a plate of mashed potatoes this is like... a gas station hot dog eaten over a storm drain or something. Still kind of comforting, just in a different way. Let's cleanse our palette with some capeshit.

#8: Planetary (Wildstorm/DC, 1998)

Planetary rocks. We follow an amnesiac immortal named Elias Snow as he travels the globe with his top-secret Planetary Investigations team to uncover the secrets of the Wildstorm universe. Think of it like... The X-Files crossed with The Venture Brothers. The story of this comic is that a kid named Mikey G gets his hands on a magic blanket that allows him to fly, but his brother ALSO uses the magic blanket to fly with and they become, like, rivals, but this other kid can also fly and he starts fucking with them... better than it sounds. There's also this crazy arc later in the series where they have a baby brother but- hold on, I'll show you

Friend, this got me teary-eyed last night, thank you for taking the time to write all of this out, it means so much to me!! This is like… AUGH, everything I strive to do in comic making and my illustrations and stuff and it makes me so so happy to see and hear that the details I put into stuff gets noticed ;w;

I’m currently doing a lot of storyboarding work for a professional work that I’ll hopefully remember to post more about later, but I’ve been delighted to start bringing some of those passions into fanart and original work! Making comics is kind of a passion of mine and it really makes me happy that other people enjoy experiencing stories and scenes through my stuff ;w;

when was the last time you cried? i think it was, i finally watched into the spiderverse for the first time like two months ago seeing all the hype abt the sequel, and when the big sad emotional climax moment happened, the one during the big fight, i was crying, not silent leaking eyes maybe sniffling a bit, like full on open mouthed sobbing. shit just hit me rly hard, that movie's so good

favorite subject in school? hmm. probably either art or english. though i only rly got an appreciation for english when i did this additional gifted kid project thingy and rather than just literally tell us an interpretation of a text to memorise for an exam the teachers gave us a bunch of analytical lenses to choose from to analyse a text and i was like "yo wait interpreting meanings from the text is kinda fun when you havent got bitches in your ear telling you 'ok so this is exactly what the author meant and you just need to memorise that and write it in the test'"

dream job? i honestly have no idea. i wouldve said author once but i enjoy doing it for fun, i dont think id be able to make smth publishable and if i somehow did i feel like itd ruin it. if i had some kind of like repetetive but simple task and i just had to do it over and over, maybe listen to music or a podcast or smth in one ear i feel like so long as i earnt a decent amount id be cool with it. i am a simple little guy my dreams amount to 'eh id like to do some cool stuff :]'

Personality: im very people oriented, But i keep my friend circle relatively small but we are very close! I have a very happy bubbly disposition and positive outlook on life no matter how bad it gets. Im smart and very interested in art and science, the environment and nature.

I can be really anxious at times (anxiety disorder) but i don’t let it get me down! I have overcome a lot in life and enjoy guiding people through their struggles/giving advice. I like to do volunteer work when I can, especially with children and animals. the two of you walked along the soft yet mushy ground ,, perceptor gazing about at the foreign scenery. it felt like something out of a book ,, a small paradise with bioluminescent plant life all around. even the water glowed a nice purple ,, little creatures skittering and swimming about.

it could easily remind you of the movie avatar ,, how pandora had such beautiful plant life. the leaves atop of your heads were stretched out wide and had lovely pink streaks glowing amongst their dark blue color.

“ wonderful isnt it ?” perceptor asked ,, smile placed softly on his face plate as he glanced down at you. “ makes me wish i could stay here forever with you ,,” he chuckled softly to himself as you two continued your walk.

director’s notes ―︎ hi anon! i lost your ask (and numerous others) bc tumblr was being stupid, but i managed to save part of the original draft for this one in my notes app, so ty for requesting this <3 college au’s are one of my favorite tropes of all time, and i love college-centric stuff in general, so i might’ve gotten a little carried away bc i thought about this concept a lot,, even before i got the request :] i tried to use a variety of fields of study when assigning them to members (since i didn’t want to fall back on something music or performing arts related for everyone), though i had a little bit of trouble with deciding how to place certain members since i was still brainstorming while working on this </3 i also kinda cheated with junghwan’s bc it felt kinda hard to assign a field of study to him as he’s younger than me. i’m not fully happy with this because i feel like i strayed at some parts, and i could’ve worded things better, but lmk what you think! hope you enjoy :>

i could go on for literal ages about my reasoning for this, but i can totally see hyunsuk studying fashion/apparel design.

sometimes he loses his focus in his general classes & ends up sketching out a new idea mid-lecture out of boredom, but he works even harder so he doesn’t fall behind.

at this point, he knows all of his friends’ measurements by heart because he always manages to convince bribe them into modeling the clothes he’s working on, whether it’s for an assignment or something he’s making for fun.

he loves trying out new styles & customizing all of his own clothes. he most likely has an instagram page to showcase all of his fits & his customization work, while his saved posts are organized into lookbook folders & inspiration boards.

if inspiration strikes, he’ll stay in the design studio as late as he can & won’t rest until he’s satisfied with whatever pieces he’s been working on. showing up to the first lecture of the day w/ a cup of coffee in his hand is pretty common for him.

he works part-time at one of his favorite department stores, which benefits him since it means he gets first pick when they get new shipments and he gets an employee discount on his own purchases. he probably offers sneaker customization services to earn extra money on the side too.

i feel like jihoon would have gotten into college with a sports scholarship or smth but chose to study broadcasting.

in class, he’s simultaneously proactive & serious, asking all the questions he wants to, no hesitation at all. he’s committed to trying his best to stay on top of his studies.

he’s definitely juggling a lot, but he wants to enjoy college life while being dedicated to his future, so he’s trying to find a way to make things work around his busy schedule.

as a member of the soccer team, he climbs the ranks pretty fast. he’s scary good, so no one’s really all that surprised when he gets bumped up to the position of team captain in his second year (or when they find out he has a fanclub 💀).

he works part-time at the shopping center; specifically at a smoothie bar that just so happens to be right across from where hyunsuk works. the two of them usually hang out or annoy one another whenever they’re on their breaks.

on top of the other stuff jihoon’s got going on, he’s also part of the broadcasting club. he always seems to know what’s going on, so if you need the details on something, he’s your guy. he could probably recite the morning announcements with his eyes closed if he really wanted to.

yoshi’s main focus is studying education because he wants to be a teacher, but he also minors in the fine arts :)

everyone you ask will tell you that he suits his major perfectly. he’s got a perfect balance of patience, care, and drive to work around whatever problems that come his way.

he’s a babysitter in his free time; half because it’s a job where he can be somewhat flexible with his availability so it works w/ his schedule, half because he simply adores kids.

when it comes to balancing his job with school, he sacrifices some of his sleep here & there, but he’s very thorough. he gets shy, but if he needs clarification, he’ll ask for it, and he’s actually pretty good at explaining things too.

maybe it has something to do with his major, maybe it doesn’t, but yoshi’s responsibility isn’t something that goes unnoticed. whether it’s school-related or not, it’s easy to see that he can keep his cool even when in stressful situations.

once in a blue moon, when his friends succeed in dragging him out to a party on a night he’s not working, he’s almost always the designated driver, but he doesn’t really mind it. he doesn’t really like to drink to begin with, so making sure that everyone gets home in one piece is fine by him.

i can’t really explain how i came to this conclusion, but i feel like junkyu would do well if he was studying psychology.

in his first year he was probably a dorky but adorable freshman with an undecided major. people seem to find that his clumsy, shy personality only adds to his charm, so it’s not surprising that he has admirers.

when he gets a little bit confused in class, his usual choice is to bite his tongue rather than ask a question. junkyu won’t ask for help until he reaches a certain point, he opts to keep trying on his own until it gets too much for him.

more often than not he gets roped into things by his friends. sometimes it’s a party that they want him to go to, sometimes it’s being hyunsuk’s model for new clothes. willingly tags along every now and then when yoshi’s babysitting, solely because the kids are sweethearts.

he’s stealing even more hearts as a resident assistant in his second year. despite his shyness, he’d end up being close with all the residents. it’s hard not to like him; he makes people feel comfortable. most of the time he’s laid back & has a hard time saying no, but he still tries to be responsible & enforces the rules, even if he doesn’t always like it.

ngl, he may or may not have applied for the RA position at first because he’s a homebody & he thought he could use it as an excuse to stay in the dorms since his friends always try to drag him out. still, he’s someone you can always rely on. he might joke around & act like he’s annoyed, but he’s not. he likes to make himself useful if there’s an opportunity.

⌗ takata mashiho / 高田ましほ

in my mind, mashiho would’ve gotten into uni on a full-ride sports scholarship & winds up studying sports medicine while double minoring in kinesiology & culinary arts.

all of his professors are quite fond of him. he’s another one of those students that actively participates in the lessons, and it’s clear he always tries extra hard, especially since he’s at school on that scholarship.

he might not be insanely tall, but don’t let his height fool you, he’s the basketball team’s secret weapon. his skills are insane, & he’s a different person on the court, so each game’s exciting; he always goes beyond expectations.

honestly though, if you thought jihoon was busy, you should see mashi. he might not have a job, but he’s got so much other stuff going on outside of sports & his studies, everyone’s a little bit curious as to how he balances all of it.

popularity check ― somehow, everyone seems to know mashi. he’s campus crush material & he’s got the fanclub to prove it. when he’s not studying or practicing for a game, you might find him with the dance club or the theatre kids.

overall, he just exudes good vibes and confidence, and that’s probably why so many people are naturally drawn to him. when he’s out, he can be the life of the party, but it’s pretty easy for him to have a good time just kicking back with friends. it’s hard to imagine someone not liking him.

⌗ yoon jaehyuk / 윤재혁

this is based off of that one fancall but jaehyuk studies both business administration & economics :)

even before people find out what his majors are, they’d already take a liking to him since he’s such a sweetheart. hearing what he’s studying only impresses others more.

i feel like he’d be part of student government. i could also see him giving the freshmen tours of the campus once he’s in his second year of studies, and he probably continues to do so every other year after that.

he’s got smarts to spare !! i feel like he’s that one person who’s always at the top of his class. he probably doesn’t even need to ask questions for clarification because he reads ahead of the current units they’re working on in class.

im 92.7% convinced he’d be the ultimate favorite student to any, if not all, of his professors. he’d always be prepared when he comes to lectures, and i feel like all the professors would genuinely enjoy reading through his thought process when they grade any of his work.

i could see him working as a student tutor on the side, though idk if it’d be for money or extra credit. it’s an easy but equally convenient way for him to review topics while simultaneously earning extra cash or extra points. even if he wasn’t getting anything out of it, i still think he’d enjoy helping other people better their understandings.

i had a lot of ideas for asahi, but for simplicity i think he’d study art; specifically w/ a focus in animation.

something tells me he’d be part of the gifted program for fine arts. idk if it’d necessarily work like a scholarship, but i don’t think it’d be an easy program to get into. he’s getting the recognition he deserves for his talent.

when he’s in class he takes simple notes so he gets the general information he needs, but something tells me that he’d go back to redo them later on so that they’ll look nicer. it also helps him study, since he’s revisiting all the materials.

he probably has a bunch of sticky notes with doodles on them in his textbooks, & i feel like he’d doodle on his notes a lot too, but it’s not because he’s bored/distracted, it actually helps him focus & allows him to remember things better.

i feel like college is an even greater self discovery kind of experience for asahi more than any of the others. since he’s so introverted, people probably say that they hope he’ll learn to express himself outwardly the same way he expresses himself through his art. his friend group helps tho, so he’s working on redefining his comfort zone :]

for some reason, i can’t really see asahi having a job while he’s a student. he’d either be so wrapped up in art & studies that his free time kind of blends with them, or he’d keep to himself & his small circle of friends until he falls into a new hobby (which, unintentionally, would be music, but jihoon’s trying to convince him to join the soccer team/club).

⌗ bang yedam / 방예담

the idea of yedam not being involved with music at all feels foreign to me, but i could see him doubling up & studying music alongside communications.

he probably got into college through the gifted program for music, but he chose to study communications as well just to be practical and have some sort of backup plan.

yedam’s the type who stays in the studio more often than his dorm room. he’s always coming up with new song ideas, so his voicenotes app is full of little snippets of things that he came up with throughout the day.

if you happen to see him on campus, you’ll find that he listens to music more than half the time. he’ll always have a pair of headphones on him, whether they’re being worn over his ears or just hanging around his neck.

another popularity check ― the music department’s pride and joy. everyone on campus knows him, mostly because he always performs at events like the school festivals & talent shows. yet another person with a little fanclub behind him; his voice just seems to pull people in.

performs every week at an open mic night that a local coffee shop hosts. he’ll even take requests when there aren’t many people on the performance roster. definitely has a yt channel; sometimes he’ll sing originals while other times he’ll sing covers. half the student body is subscribed.

⌗ kim doyoung / 김도영

i was so dead set on this one pls i feel like doyoung would probably study biology & follow in his family’s footsteps as a pre-med student :]

campus!! crush!! somehow he’s the perfect balance between being a sweetheart & being a huge flirt. his busy schedule tends to have him all over the place, but that’s also how he gained popularity on campus.

probably gets involved with student government because of jaehyuk. he wasn’t really about it first because he already had a lot going on as a pre-med student, but he enjoyed it too much to give it up once he got a taste for it.

doyoung’s prepared for the worst; he’s like a walking first-aid kit & nurse’s office. definitely the person hyunsuk goes to ask for bandaids after accidentally poking himself one too many times while trying to design a new piece.

i’m convinced he’d be a teacher’s assistant. i don’t have an idea of which of his professors he’d TA for, but i know for a fact that he’s charmed all of the other students in the class and the professor themselves. the type to leave give people little hints/tips on what to study for while grading their papers if they didn’t necessarily do so hot.

if you’re ever looking for him on campus and he’s not assisting or sitting in the back of a class grading the papers, there’s a good chance you’ll find him in the library. he’s an assistant there on top of being a TA (and the head librarian always jokes about how they’d never seen so many people come in to study until doyoung became a library assistant).

⌗ watanabe haruto / 渡辺春虎

haruto’s studying music production & composition; he got in through the same program as yedam.

asahi’s roommate. he helps asahi get comfortable around others & is partially the reason why music is now one of asahi’s other hobbies outside of art.

rather than having a youtube channel like yedam, haruto posts on soundcloud for fun. he probably goes by an alias, but the stuff he puts out is semi-popular.

he likes to goof off & work on songs with his friends. at first he’d just mess around by himself & show asahi, but then he met yoshi & mashiho, so nowadays you can distinctly hear four different people in several tracks on haruto’s computer.

he’s not employed while he’s studying atm, but one of his professors mentioned that the campus radio station is looking for people to play songs & fill up the regular slots between the radio programs, so he’s been debating on whether or not he should apply for a position.

that one person who everyone’s unintentionally intimidated by. he does really well academic-wise, but he can be a little bit antisocial, so he doesn’t talk as much around people he’s not close to. others tend to find him hard to approach since he’s so tall istfg his responses can be short & they mistake his blank expressions/rbf as him judging them since they can’t really tell what he’s thinking by the look on his face.

⌗ park jeongwoo / 박정우

jeongwoo has absolutely no clue what he direction he wants to go in, so he hasn’t declared a field of study yet.

roommates with jaehyuk. junkyu’s had to drop by and tell them to knock it off on more than one occasion because they’ll get too loud without realizing it.

he’s on the basketball team with mashiho, but during the off-season you’ll probably find him goofing around on the field with some of the other people in the soccer club.

knows he has to pick a focused area of study sooner or later, but he’s not really sure what he wants. he’s kind of testing things & looking into a new focus every other week to try and find something that sparks his interests.

works part time at is probably on the verge of being fired from a cafe, but he’s usually only taking peoples’ orders, manning the register, or doing dishes. atm, his boss is just keeping him around since he makes up for his not-so-great coffee skills by bringing in a crowd, but he’s trying his best.

a bit of a social butterfly. despite not knowing what he wants to study just yet, the fact he’s made friends in several different departments has helped a lot. everyone on campus, regardless of their major, has probably seen jeongwoo lingering around their building once or twice, and whenever someone initiates conversation he’s always polite.

⌗ so junghwan / 소정환

junghwan’s still in high school & trying to decide what he wants to do in the future.

he’s sort of interested in a few different fields of study, but he wants to see what they’re like before he makes a final decision on what he’ll go into.

all his friends that have already graduated have been pestering him about going to the same university as them when the time comes for him to enroll.

though he’s not done with high school yet, several schools have already been keeping an eye on him & his potential. there’s been buzz about how some places want him in their sports programs; some are even talking scholarships.

he’s a full-time student as of right now. junghwan’s too busy studying for the college entrance exams to be working at the moment, but he’s a bright kid. his teachers are pretty sure he’ll pass with flying colors; they surely won’t hesitate to give him recommendations if he asks.

he’s probably asked jaehyuk or doyoung to help him study for his upcoming exams just to be prepared, but it’s somehow become a group-study thing because everyone else either tags along or invites themselves to the session. still, he’s grateful. they try to help him as much as they can & tell him not to worry so much since he’ll do just fine.

♡ always makes little adjustments to the environment for you. he’s observant to a fault so if there’s something even a little off and it happens to bother you, he’s trying to work around it.

♡ good at playing guitar but not good at reading music. he can throw something together if you give him a chance but he’s not good at trying to recreate someone elses memory. he’s not like.. musically gifted either but he likes how guitar sounds

♡ thinks about getting a lot of piercings in his ear because he thinks they’d look cool but is kind of too nervous? the idea of a needle going through his skin is a ick. when you start dating, he drags you to his appointments lol - won’t admit it but he thinks he looks so hot when he gets them. takes a bunch of selfies <3

♡ needs to be moving constantly. can’t sit completely still to save his life. when he listens to music, he moves his head. sometimes he just runs his thumb over his fingers.

♡ really, really bad at talking. not in the sense he can’t communicate (that too) but he just likes listening in conversation. rarely adds his own thing. but when he does - always accidentally says something super meaningful

♡ enjoys subtle physical touch because it is literally intimate he melts inside. a hand on his forearm or shoulder. your legs over his lap. small things that show how comfortable you are.

♡ likes being held cause he’s a big ass baby lmfao

♡ wont admit it but enjoy when you choose pretty or colorful bandages for his cuts he won’t himself but it’s like keeping you in his pocket wherever he goes.

♡ really needs you to find him attractive dslksjk it’s not that he ever thinks he’s particularly ugly. but he didn’t really assign importance to his appearance at any point in his life, yet now he puts in a scary amount of effort. readjusts his hair so much more, makes sure his clothes fit good. fixes his fuckin’ face lol

♡ likes chewing gum a lot and always has a pack on him. really proud of how big he can blow bubbles and will be a little sad if you’re unimpressed.

♡ is overly sentimental about things you’ve made him - especially if it’s something super dumb. you drew him a silly little sketch of him in a frog hat? it’s in his wallet behind his id. freaks out when he thinks he’s lost his wallet

♡ LOVES phone calls. yes he still hates talking. but the way his face looks when he listens to your voice. eyes half-lidded, shamelessly smiling - it’s so tender and so lovesick.

♡ terrible first grader hand-writing. he tries to write them for you in the beginning of your relationship (to be romantic or some shit) but they’re so incomprehensible pls. if he focuses on it - it can be legible but most of the time ... yea no.

♡ doesn’t favor tea or coffee but prefers tea if he has to drink one.

♡ crazy good at eyeballing measurement. even in baking. once made a perfectly good bread without weighing anything and doesn’t get why that’s so wild.

♡ has the phone on his text set to be bigger even though his eyes are fine.

♡ lets you do the layout thing on his iphone and decorate as you please. says he doesn’t care but when he sees you made it hero themed/fit with his aesthetic - he got so red it was so cute.

♡ hates shopping in store. will still always go with you because the one time you went alone a store clerk hit on you.

♡ so practical. he started couponing when he was in his early twenties like an old man. checks the news and weather the night before, every night. never misses doctors appointments.

♡ shit at any form of visual art. drawing, painting etc - cannot do it to save his life. but he tries. his hands shake when he tries to draw hearts for you

♡ blows the eyelashes off your cheek super gently whenever he notices. he’ll like.. take your face in his hands and blow so softly like he’s gonna hurt you.

♡ used to agree to make pinky promises with you as a joke. now though? automatically holds his pink out for you to take it. straight up pouts if you don’t.

♡ you two have a song and when it comes on, he’ll sing it back to you. any other time? any other song? he wont. but he always sings your song even without realizing, just mouths it.

♡ enjoys when you put your hands under his shirt and just leave them there and hug him like that. skin to skin contact is elite but only from you.

♡ hamsters adore this man. they just do.

♡ draws frowny faces on your eggs with hot-sauce

♡ soul leaves his body when you play with his hair and scratch his scalp. the tension in his neck literally disappears and he just sighs that shit relaxes him like crazy

♡ the first time he says i love you, you’re tying his tie for his first hero event. you’re telling him to that the color looks good on him and you’re smiling. it honestly it just slips. he went on to win an award that night.

♡ his favorite memory of the two of you was when you were trying to leave the grocery store one afternoon. it was raining heavy as shit. you pulled him in under your clear umbrella and just stood there. he doesn’t know why but that means a lot to him.

♡ cares a lot about his dads approval on his work specifically. him and his dad have a really specifc bond and he actually admires him quite a bit.

♡ nothing makes him cry like “im proud of you”. especially when it’s for something small. it’s just something he didn’t hear enough in a sincere way.

♡ likes fruit flavored sweets over chocolate (generally needs something to do w his mouth cause it helps him think. bad oral fixation) so he keeps little candies on him

♡ shit at video games. terrible at them with the exception of mario kart? for some reason.

♡ always loses his keys

♡ stutters every!single!time! he tries to compliment you. it’s been YEARS.

♡ takes a melatonin gummy before bed and always drinks a glass of water

♡ buys you flowers and keeps them too. like does the upkeep on it and replaces them if the wilt. suggests pressing them to keep them for longer.

♡ lowkey cries really easily. he just gets overwhelmed w his feelings some times and it makes him cry even if he doesn’t want too. you and the bakusquad are sworn to secrecy over it though

♡ wears his ring around his neck on a chain bc it’s easier to show off.

♡ naturally good at doing hair!

♡ likes sneakers but wears dr. scholl's because he walks a lot and is on his feet for most of the day w his job. just being careful.
