LU Pokemon AU
Tumblr media
bro the strength it took not to give him a full dog team
Wolfie is still a regular wolf. Not a mightyena, an absol, or even a lycanroc, just a plain regular wolf, and it weirds everyone out because no one has ever seen a creature like wolf link.
Oh and if his team feels split, well that’s intended. Which half suits him better or does the full team represent him well ;DDD
Time Sky Warriors 🐶Twilight Wild Legend Hyrule Four Wind
Team descriptions under the cut 👋👀
🐶Poipole: Midna, or his memory of her. So Poipole doesn't join Twi's team until the end of tp after the mirror is shattered. I imagine Poipole is born from the remains of the shattered mirror’s dust, suffused with the negative ‘other worldly’ energy of the arbiter's grounds.
When Twilight hears giggling in the mirror chamber, he doesn’t think much of it. He has spent too many moments since their separation reminiscing about her. Even now, he decides to humour his heartbreak, imagining some lighthearted quip about how far he has fallen for her to stoop to hallucinations. He chuckles at himself and his imaginary conversation with Midna.
🐶Hisuian Typhlosion: in this au ghost types are the only pokemon unaffected by the Twilight. If anything, they already exist between worlds as, well ahem, ghosts.
There's even that nostalgic weight leaning on his shoulder... Wait... Twi realises he's down bad, but even this is ridiculous! He whips his head over his right shoulder, and there, face to face, is a creature unlike anything he's seen before, wearing an all-too-familiar grin. They zip up and away, hovering nearby with playful curiosity in their eyes, waiting to see his next move. At his bewildered and stunned reaction, they let out that chiming giggle he heard earlier
---
You don’t have to look far to find where Poipole’s gone. If they aren’t hitching a ride on the back of any of their teammates, then they’re off causing trouble together with Time's mons.
🐶Incineroar: Twi didn’t get a choice when this little litten chose him in the alleys of Castle Town, though as a cat man he doesn't mind this one bit.
Typhlosion first encountered Twilight when he was miserably lost in the Twilight zone of Death Mountain. Pretending to be one of the wandering souls, unaware of the blanketing twilight, Typhlosion carefully ambled in their direction to get a better look at the strange creature. They could feel a rich and powerful soul within Twilight, and noticed how the twilight both welcomed and repelled it. Even odder was their partner sitting on its back. Typhlosion knew dark energy when they sensed it, and that imp's soul was a pool so dark it threatened to swallow up the light - hrm, now there's an interesting thought.
---
Just because you don't catch Typhlosion causing trouble doesn't mean they're not as much of a prankster as the others—actually, they're worse. Typhlosion has a knack for roping in carefully selected allies into their mischief. Despite their playful nature, they often go missing, staring out at seemingly nothing. As a ghost type, they're attuned to wandering spirits, and will spend much of their time listening to them and helping them pass on whenever they can.
Incineroars are excellent with children, and you can't change my mind. They're not named the 'Heel Pokemon' for nothing! They love playing with kids, pretending to be the villain to defeat, staging extravagant fights with spectacular victories for the heroes. Twilight's Incineroar is particularly protective of its family. Despite aiding 'The Hero,' they are anything but honourable in battle. They're not afraid to employ unfair tactics, from small actions like throwing sand in their opponents' faces to targeting eyes and joints, even going after the enemies' allies. They are unflinching in the depths they will go to achieve victory.
🐶Mudsdale: Epona but buffer. Twilight's first companion, Mudbray would happily tackle the world together with all the confidence of an unstoppable 8 year old.
🐶Volcarona: Twilight was given a pokemon egg after restoring Faroe's light. It was terrifyingly cold when Twilight first held it, so chilling that even Midna thought it might be a morbid joke from the light sprite. Despite this, Twilight insisted on keeping the egg.
With each zone of Twilight lifted from Hyrule, the Light Spirits would bestow a ‘boon’ onto Twilight’s team. Cryptic as always, Twilight had no clue what help he received. Steadily throughout his quest the egg grew warmer, almost scalding by the time the last zone of Twilight was lifted; and upon receiving the final sprites boon the egg hatched.
Volcarona can be quite aloof. It lives at its own pace, exuding a divine presence that others cannot easily disrupt.
🐶Garchomp: I wanted a brutish pokemon that reflected (heh mirrors) his curse and it was a difficult decision between Garchomp and Kommo O.
It was nothing short of a miracle that Twilight survived the encounter with Garchomp. The Twilight Blighted Pokemon was already an apex predator in its territory, its strength bolstered by the dark magic of the twilight. Twilight doubted he could defeat them. Forced to sneak around, he found that being a hero seemed to attract unwanted encounters - Garchomp suddenly stomped its foot, shaking the earth violently the ground threatened to topple Twilight, as sharp pillars of earth tore across the terrain toward his hiding spot.
Fight fight fight and somehow Twilight lives, Garchomp faints, dark mass is dispelled and happy happy cat meme goes here.
Garchomp sometimes loses itself in battle, with adrenaline accidentally triggering a mega evolution that sends it into a rage. The aftermath leaves Garchomp feeling deeply ashamed, as it struggles to accept its own savagery.
---
Notes: twi’s team gave me the hardest time istg. There were too many mons to try and squeeze in, aaaaahhh a total nightmare: Exhibit A (scrapped idea)
But fr not a single dog in twi's team??? Yea well about that… Have Midna's team:
[Necrozma: The rest of the chain aren't aware he has a sixth pokemon at all. He just tells them he technically counted as one during his quest, satisfied that the lie works.
So nezzie here is a nod to the fused shadow that twi does accept in the manga. I have this idea that he has forced guardianship over the fused shadow, as a punishment, but also his duty as the hero. Twis conflicted regarding nezzie - On the one hand he is comfortable with what it represents but there's a deep fear of shame to admit to others he has formed a bond, though tentative, with nezzie.]
Tumblr media
In a dungeon chest Twilight finds a Fire Stone. He gives it to Midna saying how it reminds him of her hair.
(No gogoats for twi. Sadge)
🔂Time 🐥Sky 🌹Warriors 🐶Twilight 🏹Wild ✌️Legend 🍃Hyrule 🧩Four 🌊Wind
🔴 Partner pokemon: Poipole
⚪ Smaller team: Poipole, Mudsdale, Incineroar

The Long and Winding Road
Chapter 8: "Made"
“Well, if it isn't the Misters Shepherd!” She stopped right in front of Lincoln, her hands coming to rest on her hips. Lincoln struggled to breathe. She was a vision with her eyes shining in the sunlight and her curly, brown tresses spilling out from underneath her wool hat and over her shoulders. The winter coat hugged her shapely form, and she wore riding pants that accentuated her muscular calves. He felt himself grow very warm. “Miss H you are really good at skating! Better than Mama and Papa!” Colin clapped his hands. “He skates?” Zelda murmured as she took a step closer to Lincoln and stepped onto the bank of the pond. They were close enough to feel the heat of their breaths. “He…used to skate, yes,” Lincoln replied softly, his eyes darting from her hair to her lips, then back to her eyes. “But it’s been a long time.” Zelda hummed and took a step closer. “Like dancing, then.” All Lincoln could do was nod and try not to lose himself in her steady gaze. “What would he say, then, if he was asked to skate now?” Zelda’s voice was nearly a whisper. Lincoln swallowed and let out a shaky breath. “He’d accept.” A smile played on her pretty lips. “Well then, Mr. Shepherd, I would enjoy a partner, if you are willing to skate again,” she whispered into his ear. Her eyes were sparkling as she leaned back to look at his face. “I’m willing.” His voice faltered slightly, his blue eyes wide.
Lots of Zelink in this chapter and we've finally gotten to the rising action...next few chapters will be doozies!

Legend of Zelda AU Twilight Princess because it's the best game
Remus as Link (with the little pointy ears and earrings) going from being a ranch boy, teaching the children of his town to save the world with a gremlin on his back: Sirius Black, a weird little creature that Remus definitely tried to smack in surprise because it looks like a wild dog mixed with a very mouthy child with black fur, hair?, that looks very much alive and keeps pinching his arse when he doesn't look.
Sirius wants to use Remus to get revenge but that's quickly forgotten because he feels guilty over using Remus and definitely falls in love with the hero of light. Plus he loves riding Remus even if it's only as a wolf and as a human once he gets rid of that curse.
Remus is thrown into a 'destiny of the hero' that he absolutely hates but Lily, his childhood friend, got kidnapped and when he tried to save her becomes a monster, a wolf which is horribly painful and gave him scars, and the only person who helps him and doesn't try to kill him is the weirdest creature he has ever met. So now he has to be a bloody hero and save the world.
What really troubles Remus is his treatorous heart whenever Sirius cracks a joke, teases him or worse they talk and share their thoughts through their adventure. He knows that Sirius has secrets but for all he knows that half-animal half-small creature sounds like an adult but Remus has no idea what he really is.
He absolutely can't fall in love Sirius. Maybe Remus is somehow magical too what with his 'destiny' but it's not like being a wolf is anything better and Remus wants to stay human - that's until he realises that Sirius was cursed into that body and has an actual grown and absolutely breathtaking one and that makes everything worse.

Random Idea junk drawer
Hi, I’m back with more fusion nonsense. We’ve done Phantom of the Opera and Ocarina of Time, and now I’m back with more Zelda bullshit because what’s better than one special interest/hyperfixation? Two! I’ve had this one in mind for a year though, ever since I wrote the epilogue for Main Objective : Destroy Yiling Laozu, so I feel like it’s time I finally put something down on this one (It’s Twilight Princess, my beloved). Again, I’m just going to post all of this exactly as I wrote it, so it’s rambling and probably doesn’t make too much sense but it’s something that apparently needs to exist right now to help me procrastinate the things I genuinely want to be writing. *Cue the longest sigh known to man*
Everything I have so far about this Twilight Princess AU under the readmore ♥
Main Cast:
Lan Wangji as Link - the strong and silent hero. He was brought to Ordon/Caiyi Village as a baby by Madam Lan, who died of a wasting illness soon after delivering her charge into safe hands. No one knows that she was the queen of Hyrule, fleeing with her younger son out of desperation and grief that she could only take one, leaving her eldest alone in the castle.
Wei Wuxian as Midna - The Prince of the Twili, cursed to roam as an imp by Xue Yang, the usurper of his throne in the Twilight Realm. He doesn't care much at all for the world of Light that spurns his people and imprisons them in their world of shadow and decay, and so he decides to use Lan Wangji's strength and willingness to help anyone and everyone to his own ends and regain his throne, no matter the cost.
Lan Xichen as Zelda - The beloved Prince of Hyrule, imprisoned in Hyrule Castle and left alone to watch over his kingdom as everyone else wastes away into spirits in front of his eyes. He recognizes Wei Wuxian as his counterpart in the Twilight Realm by the familiar wash of his magic, and his brother by the golden eyes only seen in the Royal bloodline, though his own don't burn as brightly as his brother's. He keeps this knowledge of Lan Wangji's identity a secret for now, unwilling to burden his brother further when he's already been tasked with restoring Light to the world.
Xue Yang as Zant - Jumped up on stolen power/glory from his unseen benefactor, Xue Yang claims to have an advanced form of Wei Wuxian’s tribe’s magic and uses it to force Wei Wuxian from his throne and curse him to be an imp to keep him from retaliating. He’s an easily discarded tool once he’s no longer useful.
Wen Ruohan as Ganondorf - The looming specter of evil behind everything, using Xue Yang as his puppet in the world of Light and Twilight both to get all the power he wants. He sells himself to Xue Yang as a god and earns his devotion and following in exchange for power, but when Lan Wangji kills Xue Yang he reveals himself for who he really is and steps out of the shadows for the final confrontation.
Ensemble as human Caiyi/Dafan (Ordon/Kakariko) Villagers:
The Juniors (minus Sizhui) aged down to be the kids. Zizhen is the oldest, the head of Lan Wangji's unofficial fan club in the village and too busy writing love songs and poetry and the like to want to bother with weapons. Jingyi as Talo, brash and confident and a big fan of practicing with his wooden sword, especially if Lan Wangji  is around to show him a few moves. A-Ling as Malo, tiny and sour-faced, angry at everything all the time (but weirdly good with money for a toddler??).
Mianmian as Ilia. She's pretty and sweet and a natural choice for Lan Wangji's love interest if they were to stay in Caiyi Village/Ordon their whole lives, but as their adventures take them in different directions they simply grow closer as friends. Especially once Mianmian's memory is restored and she can see how much Lan Wangji is growing as a hero without her. She settles down in Kakariko Village/Dafan Mountain and happily assists her new friends there.
Sizhui (aged up a bit) as Renado. He's grown up in Kakariko Village/Dafan and has become quite accomplished in medicine for both humans and Gorons. He's descended from the people who became the Twili under Wei Wuxian, and though he isn't aware of it that bridge between the two worlds is part of what strengthens him and gives him such a long life and uncanny healing capabilities.
I so badly wish there was someone who could easily be Telma. TITTIES OUT NMJ A LA TBGKARU-WOH'S CQL CHARACTER REDESIGNS!! (except for the part where I always make the Nies the Gorons :( ) But like. Hello hello, I'm suddenly dying for tits out/black gloves/fur coat NMJ as the owner of the bar in Castle Town that plays host to the very small group of people/leaders trying to change things in the world for the better. Who flirts nonstop with anyone who walks into his bar. And like if we're going with canon ships for both media with no accounting for the rest of the plot then like. Lan Xichen as Renado instead, the gentle, lonely man with a healing touch and endless reserves of kindness, holding down the fort in his village (maybe raising his young nephew Sizhui, since Renado has a daughter?) who ends up meeting Nie Mingjue later on when he arrives with the injured Zora prince and they're both like O.O oh hello~~
Okay I'm getting off track. On to the non-human races.
Jiangs as Zoras:
Jiang Yanli - Queen Rutela, killed before the story begins. Her spirit guides LWJ to protect her brother, Jiang Cheng, who's been gravely injured on his way to Hyrule Castle.
Jiang Cheng - Prince Ralis. Over the course of the story, Jiang Cheng will heal from his injuries, grieve the loss of his sister, and return home to lead his people in her place.
Nies as Gorons:
Nie Mingjue as the temporary leader of the gorons while his father is locked up inside the mines due to his constant and dangerous rampaging.
Nie Huaisang as an extremely lazy goron who just hangs out down in the hot spring all day in the city below the peak of the mountain, but who for some reason knows everything about everyone and can tell Lan Wangji exactly where to go next at any given time. When Lan Wangji frees Lao Nie, Nie Huaisang moves down into Kakariko Village to run the hot spring down there on top of the inn and be the liaison between Gorons and humans.
Hmmmm that's really it for the non-human Hylian races in this game. The only other one is the Oocca, really, and uhhhhh no 😂 Maybe we'll make Jin Zixuan or Jin Guangyao be Telma. We'll say the Jins were a noble family that used to serve the royal court but fell out of favor with the righteous Lans because of Jin Guangshan's behavior, so now the Jins (&co) occupy various roles in Castle Town:
Su She runs the STAR competition and fucking hates losing to Lan Wangji over and over again, so he makes it harder every time.
Mo Xuanyu as Agitha, weird little dude in frilly clothes and over-the-top makeup in his lolita-esque house collecting something weird (like the golden bugs, but maybe not bugs? Idk I'm not thinking too deeply about the actual game elements here).
Jin Guangyao as Telma, the beautiful and slightly uncomfortable bar owner who's really good at shady deals and knowing everything about everyone in Castle Town, but uses it for the good of the Kingdom because what's Jin Guangshan gonna do about it? He's:
The guy stuck as a golden statue in his house because he got greedy. Enough said. No one’s in a hurry to free him.
Jin Zixuan as ? I don't think I'm missing anybody major in Castle Town except for the fortune teller, but it doesn't really feel right for him. Open to suggestions! Maybe the snooty guy who runs the super expensive shop in the main courtyard that eventually becomes a new Malo Mart if you do the sidequest for it? That would be funny as hell lol.
Back to nonhumans:
Dafan Wen as the Twili:
There aren't really any specific roles within the Twili except for Midna and Zant, already filled by Wei Wuxian and Xue Yang. But we'll say that in some Previous Time, Wei Wuxian was banished to the Twilight Realm with the branch of Wens he was protecting, which was something of a mixed blessing. They were all changed for good, subjected to a world of dying light and their Light forms gone forever, but also - they can't die. They're eternal there in their limbo between worlds, existing gently and quietly, resting but not dead, alive but not. Ghosts but not. Wei Wuxian is extremely protective of them and does everything he can to make sure their existence on the fringes of life is peaceful, which is why it's extra offensive that Xue Yang swept in with stolen magic and ripped it all away from him and is using his beloved people as twisted, monstrous weapons in the world of Light.
Oh also bonus: In Arbiter’s Grounds, the ghost sages would be the Sages from my Ocarina of Time AU! Not that they have a very big role or anything, and not that their personalities from OOT really have any effect on their dialogue in game, but that’s one of my favorite easter eggs in Twilight Princess.
Bonus bonus: The other easter egg that I like being that the dead knight who teaches you special sword moves is supposed to be Link from OOT sticking around as a ghost to teach his reincarnated self, so it would either be an old version of Wei Wuxian teaching the new Lan Wangji, or else I swap it and make it the previous Sheik/Zelda teaching the new hero, their roles swapping around in each reincarnation to suit the needs of the time but one of them is always the hero and one of them is always royalty of some sort.
Okay now I’m actually done byyyyeeee

6! 😁
Thanks for the ask! Ooo... "Ildia's Story." So this is actually something I started working on August of 2021. It was actually the second story I started writing after my two rough drafts titled "A Chance Encounter" that would expand into "The Ballad of Kass." While writing this story, I got to a point where I referenced the events of "Tale of the Realm Walker" and decided it would be better to go ahead and write that story before spoiling it by posting this one. That turned from the "Cliff's Notes" version of TotRW to me basically making a whole freaking Zelda game (plot wise anyway). Still haven't written the last chapter of it and am on my fourth (I think) incarnation of it...
ANYWAY... Here's a little clip from "Ildia's Story." Putting it below the cut. Ildia arrives in a new Realm and is immediately forced to defend herself. (It's a little long...) Could spoil "The Amnesiac Hero's Quest" a little if you haven't read enough of "The Ballad of Kass" (or haven't been subjected to me rambling about this project for some time lol!).
Ildia arrives on the other side of the portal and steps forward a few times.  It appears to be early morning and she’s in the ruins of a plaza by the looks of the place.  She walks past the ruins of a pillar and hears an ominous “bong” behind her, to the northwest.  She turns to face the source of the sound and sees what looks like an upside-down urn next to a downed pillar.  Parts of the object are glowing purple and the top part spins around until a glowing blue mechanical eye is looking at her.
She hears another “bong” and turns towards the sound, to the east. Another one of these machines has spotted her, this one between the remains of two archways.  It emits a red light at her and makes a beeping sound.  She looks down and sees two red dots on her “Oh shit!”
Her body, save for her eyes, turns black as night and she disappears into a nearby shadow.  The machines fire blue-white laser beams where she was standing, impacting the ground in a pair of thunderous explosions.  After the smoke clears the machine near the downed pillar realizes it has missed and the top part begins turning, searching for its target.
Ildia emerges from a shadow behind the machine, and notices a pool of collected rainwater below.  She draws the sword on her left hip with her right hand.  The flat of the blade is black as night with light blue glowing lines running across it, while the edge is a dark gray color.  This sword was made for her what feels like forever ago when she first set out to complete her father’s mission, and seek revenge on the abomination that took him from her.
She moves from cover to face the machine behind her and it spots her.  As it begins charging another beam, she plunges her sword into the machine’s “eye” delivering an apparently fatal blow as the machine begins making strange noises and she jumps back as it explodes in a blue flash of light!
Maybe it was her imagination but it looks like something emerged from the machine a couple of moments before it was destroyed.  She walks up to the debris left in the machine’s wake: a gear, some screws, some kind of crystal, black with yellow bits.  She picks up the crystal, “This energy feels familiar…”  She dematerializes the items with Twili magic then fades back into shadow.
Over by the other machine, she emerges from its shadow.  Once again, the machine notices her and begins charging an attack and she quickly stabs it in the “eye”.  Paying closer attention, three purple swirls of energy leave the machine before it explodes.  “Was that a Beamos,” she thinks to herself, “And what was that energy that left before it exploded, it had such a hateful aura…”  More beeping, coming from the south!
She turns and sees a machine like the ones she just fought, only this one has intact legs, moving like some kind of octopus/spider robot.  “Definitely not a Beamos…” she thinks to herself as it bears down on her.
She quickly fades into a nearby shadow before it fires.  After a beat she emerges from the shadow behind the machine.   Using Twili magic, she materializes a shield, its surface polished to a mirror like sheen.  “I hope this works,” she thinks to herself as she readies the shield on her left arm.  She charges the machine and slices at one of its legs, severing it.  Blue sparks spew from the socket the limb was once attached to.
The machine recoils and turns its top towards her and it begins charging an attack and moving away from her.  She raises the shield and slowly advances towards the machine.  It fires and the beam reflects off the shield and strikes the machine, damaging but not destroying it.  Using the slim opening she calls upon the power of the Pegasus Boots infused into her armored greaves and rushes forward almost faster than the eye can see and severs another limb!
Again, the machine recoils from the attack and starts backing away, preparing to fire again. “Relentless, aren’t you,” she comments aloud and raises her shield again.  Predictably it fires again and the beam is reflected, damaging it but not destroying it.  She rushes forward again, severing another limb and knocking it on its side.
The machine begins struggling to right itself.  Taking advantage of the opening, Ildia leaps on top of the machine and quickly stabs it in the eye.  Finally, the machine explodes in a bright flash of light.  Like before there’s a pile of debris, a few screws, another gear, some sort of shaft, a spring.  Not only that but some debris was left behind by the severed limbs.  She picks up the objects and dematerializes them with her Twili magic. Then she walks back to the pile left behind by the second immobile machine and recovers those parts as well.
With the excitement over, Ildia looks around for several moments until she’s sure there’s no threat and dematerializes the shield.  “Now where’s the beacon?” she asks herself as holds her sword straight out in front of her, pointing north.  Light blue glowing lines form a broken circle around the tip of her blade and she slowly turns herself around, but when she faces towards where she arrived the lines disappear completely.  “That’s odd,” she thinks to herself and walks towards the center of the area.  There’s naught but a large mound of dirt.
“There’s something buried here,” she realizes, “Something powerful enough to interfere with my dowsing…”  She sheathes her blade and looks around.  Off in the distance, to the northeast she can make out a large structure.  “Is that Hyrule Castle?” she wonders, but something’s off, even from this distance she can see a dark aura around the structure, black and purple energy swirling around it.
“No choice, at least there’s no one around,” she thinks to herself as she puts her hand over the gem inserted into the blade’s pommel and it and the crystal in the guard begin to glow.  Her body is surrounded in darkness before shrinking slightly, she gets down on all fours and after a moment the darkness fades and she has assumed the form of a wolf, like the Hero of Twilight, her father.
Ildia’s wolf form is mostly covered in black fur with light blue glowing lines running through it.  Her underside and paws are blue-grey while her eyes remain the same color.  She takes off towards the northeast, running as fast as she can.  She passes through a small forest and can see one of the machines patrolling to her left.  Either it didn’t spot her or it doesn’t attack animals because it pays her no mind.  She continues on for what feels like forever until she comes across a road, or at least a depression that was once a road.  In front of her is a rock outcropping, which she stops in front of.  She reverts to her true form and climbs the rock.
From the top of the rock Ildia can see the huge castle.  It’s like something out of a nightmare! The castle is surrounded by massive black stone pillars with purple lights emerging from the ground and the ruins of a town are in front of the castle, the entire scene surrounded by an ominous, dark aura.  She pulls out what looks like a bird mask, the Hawkeye tool her father once used.  She looks around the ruins: little more than piles of rubble where buildings once stood, more of those machines patrolling, pools of ominous purple and black slime, some of those pools have spike like structures sticking out of them.
She takes a closer look at the pillars; they appear similar in construction to the machines.   There are a few new machines flying around, they look like the others but upside down with three propellers keeping them airborne and searchlights pointed at the ground, “They kinda look like Peahats,” she muses before turning her attention to what looks like a ruined fountain in what was once the town center, something’s sticking out of the fountain.
It’s a little hard to tell, but it definitely looks like the Hyrule Royal Family’s crest.  Looking at the castle itself it appears to have been attacked a long time ago, abnormal protrusions sticking from certain areas, like larger versions of those spikes sticking out of those slime pools.  “Just what kind of nightmare have I walked into here?” she thinks to herself, “This can’t be Ganon’s work.  This aura feels so much worse.  Demise maybe, no that’s impossible…”
Ildia takes the Hawkeye off and dematerializes it.  She shakes her head and takes a deep breath before unsheathing her right-hand sword again.  Once again, she holds it out in front of her and magic lines form a broken circle.  Like before she turns around, but this time the lines slowly form a complete circle, although there are more lines branching off the circle’s circumference, “Hmm…  Something’s interfering with the signal.  Looks like it is pretty far away too…”  She sheathes the sword again and touches the gem in the pommel and again it glows as does the crystal in the guard, and once again she is surrounded by darkness.  This time however, she shrinks even more, assuming the form of a hawk!
Like before her hawk form is mostly covered in black feathers with glowing blue elements, with a blue-grey underside.  She takes off in the direction of the most complete circle, east-southeast.  After flying for some time Hawk Ildia reaches a mountain split in two.  “No real signs of civilization so far,” she thinks to herself, “Just ruins everywhere…”  Then something catches her eye and she looks down.  An intact building!  There’s a pen with horses, some people moving around outside of the building.  “Finally, signs of civilization!” she thinks, “Wait, is that a Rito?”  In front of the building there is a humanoid bird playing an accordion in front of a pair of Hylian children.  The Rito is covered in light blue feathers and has a parrot-like face, but his clothes look very different than she remembers Rito clothes looking.  A memory pops into her head, “He kinda looks like Salli…”

Linktober Day 10: Zelda!
A break from poetry today to promote my new Twilight Princess period AU fic coming October 31st!! It will be available on Ao3 and Wattpad.
Set in 1925, Zelda is the girlfriend of a big-time crime boss in Chicago. She's grown up in high society circles and used to the finer things in life. A closet scholar and academic, she has been wanting out of the organized crime lifestyle for a while and when she witnesses the murder of a close family friend, she knows she'll just be a loose end. So, with the help of her late mother's friend, she flees to the midwest under a new persona and starts a new life in the small town of Ordon, Iowa as the new schoolmarm. She quickly finds out that the troubled child that has been "terrorizing" the last 3 teachers before her is the son of the Ranch Foreman that manages the ranch she has been placed in for housing. They meet when she confronts him about his son's behavior, and it doesn't go well.
If this sounds like something you might like to check out, follow me on Ao3 or Wattpad (@/flutefemme)!
"The Long and Winding Road" is a story about the many faces of fear, grief, and loss, the long road to healing, and the beauty of redeeming love. Coming October 31!!

continuation of my zelink week piece: rituals
----------
It took them two days to prepare for their journey. They spent from sun up to sun down gathering food and water, packing medical provisions, readying the horses, and countless other little things. Link was rather grateful that Zelda busied him with the physical labor of packing, because otherwise, he didn’t know how he would keep himself from watching her. Every movement she made was fluid, every wave of her hand or flick of her wrist that sent some sort of spell into the air. A concealment spell, so no one could wander into the grotto and tarnish her temple. Health potions, so that her farm, plants and animals alike, remained healthy without needing someone to tend to them. She came to him halfway through the second day to place glass bottles of glittering liquids and herbs into his bag.
“For us,” she explained. “A few elixirs are already made, and I’ve packed the ingredients to make however many more we may need.”
Link nodded. Her hands ghosted against his when she withdrew them, but she turned her back to him and said nothing more. He didn’t expect her to. She still had things to do.
They left at dawn the next morning, because leaving in the middle of the night when the woods gave little visibility was asking for death. Zelda must have whispered some magic into her horses so that they were calm with him, despite the shard that sat in the box in their wagon. He’d traveled to her on foot. It was much easier now that their form of transportation required less energy.
Their travel time was three days. Maybe it would’ve been shorter with fewer breaks, but neither of them took kindly to the idea of pressing their horses, and there were still the basic needs of hunger and sleep. Yet all of that aside, Link couldn’t help but wonder if they were stalling. He knew he was taking any break offered to him in fruitless attempts to calm his nerves. Zelda seemed to agree with, if not suggest more breaks than him, and he wondered just what it was about this spring, about this ritual, that had them both so shaken.
During their rests, they took turns with their chores: cooking, tending to the horses, keeping watch. He wasn’t naive enough to believe that either of them actually spent their nights asleep. Rest came to him whenever it did, and that seemed to be less and less often the closer they got to their destination.
He was growing tired of travel, even if it hadn’t been that long. Or maybe he was tired of being tired, of having this curse sitting so heavily on his shoulders, and he knew to be patient, but he was growing irritable. Maybe it was the mirror’s influence again. No matter how far he tried to stray from it, it never let him forget the power it carried. What it could do to him, or make him do. He thought back to that picture again, of a decimated temple and bleeding body, and he shook his head. No, he would be fine. Zelda was going to help him, and he would never dare lay a hand on her.

“I saw everything in that mirror. Every single part of her destiny was meant to be mine. She took everything from me. So now it is up to me to right the wrongs and restore the life I was meant to have… the lives we all were meant to have.” - Twilight Sparkle
