Heya sera, I was recently replaying b3 and was wondering something; thanks to some of the patreon scenarios we kind of get an idea of how Alima and M react to each other now- but in b3 when you say you had a run in with Unit Victor, M stops walking for a moment and asks about Alima- is it because they’re worried about what the MC might have heard? since M is usually so nonchalant about things I was quite surprised!l

That's exactly why M got tense about it, yes! :D

M is aware of what Alima feels for them and also how Alima can be (not like violent or anything, just very good and being very sharp and prickly), so they would rather the two not meet unless M was also there, hehe! :D

It is the only time M has a bit of panic about the MC meeting a previous fling. They're not embarrassed or ashamed, just uncertain how that could go down!

Like ... obviously I am so head over heels over this man ... and I live for how his romance is evolving and just the style of it in general. Like the way that it just is and it's there. The way that he just treats the fact that he does these things for the detective is such an obvious fact (because obviously, Mason being Mason, he hasn't thought about why it's such an automatic fact for him). The way he is still so genuinely him - with his snarky & flirty comments - but somehow also shows the softness he's feeling towards the detective even if he still doesn't realize what it is lol

Oh my goodness, I *loved* the M special!! I’ve liked all of them, but this one was my favorite of the bunch. And for all the reasons that you said - it’s so subtle, and it sort of sneaks up on you. But you’re right …

The relationship just IS! Like you said! Like, there doesn’t need to be fanfare or will they/won’t they, it’s there. One thing I like about M is how meaningful their actions are - just showing up to the party itself! And like, they wanted them to come so they did. No big deal, right?

It’s amazing, I love the small moments and actions because they’re just so impactful!

Another thing I loved about this was N! N and the well, poor ruined Alima. Having to be honest, straight to the point, and well, sorry but … they’re not going to be broken like the devastated commanding agent. (Love her, can’t wait to see more of her)

And of course - the dancing! The dancing!

Hello Sera, since we may or may not meet M's one night stands and Alima, have any of them tried moving on or dating anyone else, or was M just the one that they only wanted?

Pretty much everyone that's been with M understands what it was.

It's more difficult for Alima because she shared time outside of the bedroom with M and fell hard for them even though she really knew she shouldn't! :D

So yeah, Alima is the only one to harbour those lingering feelings that are deeper.

First, I want to apologize for all the M related questions, but this one has been living in my head for a while now. It has established that Alima and M had a one night stand together, and in typical M fashion, they left right after it was done. What was about M that caused Alima to realize holy shit, I actually love this angry grump. Was it the sex, or M's brutal honesty?

Also, if we aren't on M's route and they continue to have one night-stands towards the end of the series, will they find someone who is the ONE for them or will be the same old smash and dash?

NSFW - Has anyone at the facility ever heard M moan or scream from pleasure before and have any of the agents bragged about having sex with M?

It seems like M seriously hiked up in the popularity ranks after Book Three which was one of the most interesting surprises! So yeah, no worries about the M questions :D

Alima was already slightly in love with M before the one-night stand (which M was VERY clear about not leading anywhere, and they were unaware of Alima's feelings. If they'd known, they wouldn't have done it. M is not one for complicating things, well, unless it's with the MC, of course ;D) and then that night just kind of cemented things for Alima.

M will likely to continue to just have one night stands. They aren't looking for anything more when not on the MC's route and have that 'soul mate' thing happen.

I imagine it's not much of a brag to have slept with M at this point as most of the facility would have, LOL! :D

It was almost Book Three, but I love Alima as a character too much to have just squeezed her in in a throw away scene!

It all depends on how planning goes as to when she'll turn up! But she will at some point :D

wait, i just saw the previous ask and it said that 'alima' is one of M's fling? i must've missed something or i don't remember it anymore so please enlighten me, who's alima again and which part of the book was it stated that alima is one of M's fling?

Alima is the commanding agent of Unit Victor. But don't worry, you didn't miss anything! It's not actually been mentioned in game yet that there was a fling between them.

It's just more a common knowledge thing that I've mentioned outside of the books.

It's likely to come up in Book Four though...possibly... ;D

Does Unit Victor not know Alima is in love with M? I feel like that's something they would at least mention since she's part of their team but it seemed like they didn't even know much about M when you talk to Unit Victor about M.

Does that mean Alima won't like M-Mancers no matter what? I've always felt bad for her and wanted to be her friend if possible but that last ask about Alima makes me think she won't be civil to M-mancers :/

Alima loves M but also knows that M just doesn't feel that way for her. She doesn't hold it against the MC, at least not that much lol, that they are the one that M eventually fell for.

She's too old and lived too much life to hold grudges over things like that, or grudges in general really, hehe! :D

So yeah, Alima's impression of the MC will be based on how the MC is, though there may be a bit of a sting to start with that might let her test the MC a little ;D

The Wayhaven Chronicles - Update 7/October/2023

It was weird getting back to coding this week, hehe! I’ve been only doing the writing for the planning for so long that getting back to the shift of how to code was a bit of an eye-opener once again!

But it didn’t take long to get back in the flow.

Though first up this week were social media days, and I had some serious fun with that!

It was the Autumnal/Halloween scenarios to write up for the Patreon specials this month, and you guys decided on some good choices in the poll for the AU romance scenes, hehe! 

So the dates of those will be:

Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice (Haley Autumnal Scenario Special) 4th October

Can the sweetness of a new relationship beat the yumminess of the bakery’s tasty goods?...Both Haley and the MC seem to think so!

Jump Scare (Maaka Halloween Scenario Special) 11th October

For a first date, though maybe technically third, nothing seems better than dinner and a movie. Unless of course it’s a scary movie, and your werewolf boyfriend gets freaked out about anything that goes bumps!

Bittersweet (Sin Autumnal Scenario Special) 25th October

The change in seasons brings more than just a chill to the air—it also brings the return of someone who the MC hadn’t realized they’d been missing quite so much. And it seems Sin feels the same way…

Are you scared? (Alima Halloween Scenario Special) 31st October

Building a new friendship is hard enough, it’s even more difficult when traversing a haunted house together and realizing the tingle that’s running down both your spines is likely from more than shock of the plastic skeleton leaping out of the walls.

It was SO much fun writing these romances as they were all really different! Alima especially was a difficult one to write for but turned out even better than I’d hoped.

But after that, I finally opened up a brand new Notepad++ document and got to save it as ‘TWC Book Four’!!! I had a little bit of an excited and panicky screech at that point, hehe! :D

I’ve been working on all the stuff that needs to go into the background first: coding the character creation for people who jump in with new characters, writing a brief summary of Book Three, etc. I also need to add in a section now for those who want to jump through all the choices in order to create a new character, so I need to make sure I get in all the important ones from Book Three so that it works.

It’s taking a loooong time. And normally I would get all this stuff done before even considering writing anything towards the book, but it was a pretty heavy week of coding so I think next week I might actually jump into the writing and then chop back again when I finish a scene!

Got to find the balance between the fun and the necessary, right? :D

I’m already buzzing at the idea of writing the opening! I’ve actually got it rough written out already, so turning it into the ACTUAL opening is going to be such a major moment! The start of the next chapter within The Wayhaven Chronicles and where the romances are gonna lead!

alima and bobby should have been sub-romance options, the angst, the chemistry is just chefs kiss. rebbecca should have faded into the background instead of tina and verda. :,))

i love twc dont get me wrong, but the fact that rebecca is going to have a more central role and work more closely with the mc than before just kind of makes me reluctant to read book 4 in the future. i feel that by the end mc had some of the self-agency bcs at least as a detective they had some sense of control and agency but now theyre just gonna be at rebbeca's beck and call and i just *le sigh*. im so sorry for the rebbeca ramble lmao, but she's probably one of my top 5 most frustrating characters of all time at this point. its been a while since ive had a character's mere presence annoy me in a book, like every time she appears i feel like it ruins the moment. honestly i hope murphy if he gets somehow revived by some miracle that he takes rebbecca and runs off with her into the sunset or some shit. :,))

no because i love how any time i post something twc related, it turns into rebecca slander !! like you're absolutely valid. also mc and alima ditching m and dating each other is so hot ngl 🤭

i can't wait for her dynamic with mc, i love it when the other woman can be met with understanding and compassion instead of hatred, it makes for a lot more complex story.
