This makes me so sad, Sammy is so gorgeous and only 26 years old! But she says she’s ‘old now’ and has decided that it’s time for a ‘new’ Sammy. I know she’s in the business where beauty standards are absolutely insane, and the pressure she is under to be able to get leading roles is hard. She’s been constantly cast as the ‘fat’ girl for as long as I can remember, there’s even a scene in LBC where the boys call her an elephant! So between the horrible weight shaming she experiences and her adorably round cheeks being called pudgy, she’s now decided at 26 to get plastic surgery. Listen, I’m all for people doing what they want with their bodies, plastic surgery is your choice, do it if you want it. But the way Sammy spoke about it on her IG, it just came off more like she felt like she ‘needed’ it to help her career opposed to genuinely wanting it for her own reasons. I wish her a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

I think chan just got some real whiplash after moving from aussie to sk. Not to say there aren't beauty standards in Australia, but I feel like it's not nearly as strict, plus people here care way less, especially people outside the whole social media bubble. It's probably hard for him to adapt to koreas very strict views coming from a country like this.

just because you're getting a surgeon to do your self-harm for you doesn't make it not self-harm

elective surgery is still surgery and comes with risks of scarring, numbness, decreased mobility, pain during recovery from surgery and also afterwards, infection, poisoning if anything is implanted, and can potentially be fatal

and you definitely shouldn't be promoting it to other people just like you shouldn't other forms of self-harm

one of the things that stresses me out the most is that in order to get breast implants when your breasts are different sizes you have to stay at a regular weight for the rest of your life. i dont know what is the perfect weight for me and how i would see myself if i didnt have body dismorphia. so either i postpone my boob job, as im doing, or i decide that im never getting them done. the thing is that the idea of cutting my body doesnt seem that good. so maybe thats for the better

it is so silly when ppl are like “transitioning as an adult should be restricted/illegal because it’s not medically necessary and the results are permanent!” bc like… we do so many things in modern medicine that aren’t strictly necessary & have permanent outcomes and yet… we do them.

my mom went in for a voluntary corrective knee surgery to remove part of her knee. my dad didn’t need to have his stomach removed, he chose to do that. there’s a content creator called footlessjo who chose to have a below the knee amputation. people everywhere ask their doctors for gastric sleeve surgeries, or corrective eye surgery. not to mention almost of these surgeries have a higher regret rate than transitioning.

if we only did medical procedures or treatments when people were dying the quality of life for everyone would go down. if we trust other adults to make permanent decisions regarding things like whether they should keep an organ or a limb, then there’s no reason not to trust trans people who want to medically transition.
