Sorry, I think something got lost in translation. I didn't mean 'sweet' as in seeing the situation as a positive thing. I meant it as saying I find the idea touching. Apollo's lashing out but Klavier's still doing what he can to help, and Apollo will eventually come to really appreciate that gesture, I'm sure. Not to mention how touched Clay would be when he wakes up to find that these two cared so much about him. Idk, I get mushy sometimes. Sorry I wasn't clearer before!

I think it’d be funny if clay woke up while klavier was there and he’s just like “ah. I’m dreaming there’s no way that THE klavier gavin would be here. wherever here is” and then klavier notices and furiously dials apollo’s number

apollo runs in barely 10 minutes later and his hair horns catch on fire in relief/joy as he starts crying and klavier’s just. so surprised. he can’t hug clay so he has to settle for holding his friend’s hand :’) and the first thing clay says to apollo is “how the HELL did you get klavier gavin in my hospital room”

One Long Segment. #this wouldn't be as much of a problem if it wasn't for the fact that dual destinies uses so much ram that it KILLS the 3ds battery #which means you can only get through one average-length section before the little power light turns red #so you can't even do it all in one sitting unless you keep the console plugged in.....

hoo boy isnt that a question of the year

in short, its a homestuck swap au ive been developing that reverses places of beta kids and alpha kids as well as beta trolls and alpha trolls (so jane, jake, roxy and dirk play the game first and scratch it, june and the crew are post-scratch kids, karkat and his band take the roles of dancestors etc. etc.)

in long its a silly idea that somehow evolved into the monstrocity it is now, where ive got literal pages of plot written out trying to make sense of it, figuring out how to make certain points of the story feasible like a maniac with a corkboard and a red string, and multiple side characters that somehow gained plot relevancy when i wasnt looking because i cant control myself. and all of that because one day i thought itd be funny if jake fucking english merged with gcat like jade with bec in the og comic

i do think phoenix felt legitimately that he had an ally in all the initial hurricane after the gramarye case & the bar almost unanimously voting to revoke phoenix's attorney's badge, because the idea of only one voice in a sea of naysayers supporting him did Not feel out of place, because so often He's been that voice for others (because miles was once that voice for Him). it was not the first time a single voice had broken a unanimous vote for "guilty". he had felt the precedent for "almost"s coming to save him.

it's not until months if not a year or so later when something just ... clicks, & phoenix is has a moment of oh fuck. shit, it was him. it was his fault. but then he gets stuck in that space of, a forgery is bad yeah but it's not Murder or anything, so he can find it somewhere in him to forgive that, even if he was the one hurt by it. because he's forgiven a lot of people a lot of bad things just because he's gotten attached to them, & even if their friendship is built on a lie & is a lie it's still ... there. & they're a part of each other's lives no matter what now. & hey, maybe kris got screwed over in there too, right, because lana committed perjury & tampered with evidence & miles had to present tampered evidence but there were extenuating circumstances beyond their faults, so maybe kristoph is similar right??? right?????? & it's just phoenix wright & his shitty "i can fix them" savior complex against the world again,,,,,

but the more he looks into it, the less he sees it being beyond kristoph's control & then ... the shadi thing happens. & it's just. he could've forgiven the manipulation & gaslighting & the implicating him of forgery & just so much ... but he never expected kris to be capable of stooping to murder, let alone something as raw as bashing someone's head in. so the first night at the detention center is really just spent mostly having his entire world rocked Once Again, because he really didn't ever figure kris out, but he can't focus on that because he's got a trial plan to figure out, so it's only after the trial that he gets to fully just. have a crisis about All That.

#it's not so much that nick wants to fix every broken thing he sees #but more like. because their lives get entangled phoenix feels he Owes it to the other person to give them the benefit of the doubt #no matter how much it bites him in the ass #& that feeling of Owing it to them only grows the more entangled they are & the more the other's helped him #so he tries to rationalize & contextualize every bad thing about them to make them be Good in his eyes #which makes him very susceptible to the kind of toxic situationship he gets into w kris #but he's grown a little since dahlia so while the turnabout terror might be out of court he's still a table-turner #once he realizes it's kristoph that forged the evidence the manipulations turn mutual #& the more the evidence says kris was entirely responsible for his own actions...... the more their friendship becomes a 5d chess match #because even while phoenix wants to find it in him to forgive it all he still wants to bring the truth into light #which would mean betrayal & a turnabout of what kristoph's actions did to phoenix #in nick's mind there was this stupid foolish hope that once the air was cleared they could let bygones be bygones. at least He could. #but then kris killed zak & that hope for a future with forgiveness got thoroughly waterboarded #it def still kills nick he never truly figured kris out. especially after the psychelocks. #the hope mightve gotten waterboarded but it's still choking & gasping somewhere in phoenix #ooc. butterdog. the dog with the butter. #phoenix. study.

i can't think of much to say about drawing this, so many things have happened since this piece that i kind of, don't remember much of the drawing process ASKSKS

i did remember that i used a new pen for inking this one! watch out for that in future spot art made by me because i shrimply can't help myself. sometimes i draw with a pen for months and months and suddenly i hate how it feels, i'll have to not use it for a long time before my brain decides that that pen is okay again, it's weird pftt

i do enjoy the color's for this one!!!!! i'm so enamored with that shade of purple i used on klav and the light blue i used on trucy. apollo!klavier nervously eating his bagel in the background was so funny to me pftt

and a lil bonus thing, as you may or may not have noticed, i usually draw apollo with a yellow pupil, and since he's in klavier's body...

klavier!apollo also has a yellow pupil! i usually give klav a blue one so teehees :^]

i think giving body-swapped characters little traits of each other is pretty fun! i've been doing it with klav!apollo's two strands of hair that keep sticking up and apollo!klav's bottom lashes pftt

I think Phoenix and Apollo make an excellent legal team because Phoenix is a human miracle machine in court and Apollo basically lives to do paperwork, which Phoenix cannot stand. Apollo could recite the entirety of the California Penal Code if pressed and Phoenix is convinced that the only classes of murder he needs to care about are "guilty" and "not guilty"

Phoenix pulls off a crazy turnabout and there's 600 pages of documents that need to be gone over and charges that need to be filed bc none of Phoenix’s cases are ever simple. It’s all extremely semantic nit-picky bullshit so Phoenix just hands the stack to Apollo who lights up like Phoenix just offered to buy him a puppy
