The Metropolitan A Retro Diner for Oasis Springs

a fun little diner inspired by the 50s/60s and Cosmolux design that i wanted to make for Strangerville, but it ended up sticking out way too much so i moved it to Oasis springs. It didn't end up as big or neon as i originally wanted, and im not super happy with the parking lot/landscaping so i might make another one eventually

This can be found on the gallery by searching Retro Diner (or using the hashtag 50sDiner)by DonutBoxers, make sure to have custom content enabled in the gallery and turn on moveobjects on

10 DAY GET TO KNOW ME- CAS CHALLENGE

"Since I’m a new Simblr, I thought what better way to get to know me then to do a CAS Challenge inspired by everything that makes me, me! Feel free to join in on the fun too, so you too can show your creativity & maybe learn something about one another. All you have to do is create a sim each day, inspired by the topic below. DAY 1: YOUR SIM-SELF

My favorite color is actually red but there was so much red in the Aries picture that I went with my second favorite color, gold. I still wanted to incorporate a little bit of red, though.

This Sim was giving me so much trouble. I don't know why, but absolutely nothing was going right for me.

The first time I was in CAS making her, my power went out for absolutely no reason and I lost everything. Then I had to try 5 different backgrounds including 360 mirrors before I just low key gave up because I hated everything. The lighting was actual ass to get right and I *jabs finger at screen* still didn't get it right but at least I got rid of the color banding that plagued the first batch of shots. Then I tried multiple outfits and none of them fit the concept I wanted before finally settling on some random TSR dress. Wanna know why you don't see the lower half of this dress?

That's why.

Then I realized I accidentally plagiarized a Rainbow High doll. Tbh, I'm not even mad because that doll is gorgeous and if she didn't cost $50, she'd be sitting on my shelf right now right next to Vanessa Tempo.

Hey wanna see what desperation looks like?

I'm complaining just to complain at this point. I'm really enjoying these CAS challenges. And oh boy, this one was definitely a challenge!

Oooh I'm so excited to get one of these, thank you for asking @simblr-question-of-the-day. I'm pretty all over the place with my cc because I have far too much, but I know at least I do have my favorite genetics.

I almost always find myself using the gingerbread skin blend by @ghostputty - it strikes a good balance of details for me without having to add any tweaks - plus it has like 24 options so heaps of variety.

For eyes, I have the Meloncholic Reverie defaults by @elysiantrait, and I finally got on the default skin replacement train and am using Thuja by @nesurii - which is beautiful btw.

For hairs - I usualy find myself reaching for @daylifesims' bundles cos they prefectly match sims across the alpa to maxis spectrum - for me at least. I do like this hair from the Britney collection.

Rapidfire round - I like @twisted-cat for brows & makeup, and I've used the melanin love blush for years - just found out it's made by an inactive creator, taffeite on TSR. I've started using a hairline skin detail by Seleng far too much and though my bank account isn't set up for Loub shopping in real life 😭, I always give my girlies the Louboutin Pigalle Follies by @dallasgirl79 for special occasions. or any occasion really.

Finally, I got round to fixing one of my favorite cc dresses, the Hugo Boss inspired Natasha dress from @theslyd. I use it for every lowkey wedding and the black swatch as a socialite-type party dress far too much.

And to complete the challenge after all that, I've made a sim - my simself, only my second ever. She's decked out in in some cc by the above mentioned creators. Thanks for making it the end xx

Golden Days Lookbook Challenge

by @oliveandoak & @plushpixels. I was tagged by the irrepressible @ice-creamforbreakfast and @alittlepixelofheaven.Thank you! This is what @oliveandoak & @plushpixels have to say about their fun challenge:

So we decided to start this new challenge, and I challenge you to go pick up your favorite sim who grew old, or make a new one for the occasion, put on your best rings, and get ready to party with your fellow grandmas and grandpas!

Do 3 outfits, or 2 or 1, whatever you please, put in a #goldendays LB hashtag, and make sure to tag Meg and me both, so we can look at all of your elders enjoying their golden years!

For this challenge I chose Nanette Nichols, Mia’s mother. Now, as a few of you might remember, Nanette had to raise Mia as a single mother, and she always struggled financially. However her fortunes changed at the end of last year when she and Mia became money smugglers for fabled businessman Raj Patel, and for the first time in her life Nanette has money to spend! Quite a lot of money! And naturally one of the first things she splurged on was a brand new wardrobe. Two of her more recent purchases are pictured below.

The lovely smoky blue lace number above is by Ekinege at TSR, and the shoes are by Daluved1 for Ace Creators. The striking print silk dress below is by @orange-sim and can be downloaded as part of a bundle here. Nanette’s slingbacks are again by Daluved1 and can be downloaded from MTS here.

Cassiterite Castle - Colossal Castle Collab (NO CC)

I'm so happy to finally show you Colossal Castle Collab! Me and other super extra talented creators came together to create the most wonderful, magical and astonishing builds ever. I was inspired by my wonderful friend Anna (yes girl, you!), who suggested that I should try building a house that "if either of us had enough money for it", so in truly my fashion, I just decided that's it, I want a huge, black castle! Well, it looks huge but it's not really, it's not overwhelming, well, maybe a bit. Love the glass roof and all the natural light coming in to the living room, long corridor with red carpet and the secret attic with magic stuff. One of the bedrooms has a raised bed on a platform, a thing that Anna also suggested! I am extremely proud of my creation but also of my fellow collab simmers who did an amazing job!
