The Creature From Jekyll Island documents how the Federal Reserve was created in 1913, on Christmas Eve, away from the prying eyes of Congressional oversight. The Federal Reserve is made up of - and controlled by - the 12 richest privately owned banks in the USA. Read that again. Privately owned. The entire world money supply, and any stocks or resources that are required to be paid in US dollars (i.e. oil) is privately owned. I hate Capitalism as much as you do, but we're aiming at the wrong people. The banks own everything already. They are the ones who get to call the shots, they are the ones who fund wars (both sides, as Rockefeller pointed out). Only having a very small percentage of the population having nearly all of the spending power, is detrimental to society as a whole.

Money isn't really supposed to be taken out of the economy on such a large scale.

This is why the economy is fucked. Because there's no balance. It's just one extreme or the other with very little middle ground.
