Ed! The hero of Troublesome Tonics

I think this guy's identity is so rooted to Rayman that there's even room for him to shine. His design, some gameplay mechanics, final boss and sountrack feel so Rayman, but theres few things that are him and that's the characters, they're so expresive and wacky (sadly you get to know almost nothing bout them), he's also more puzzle focused than combat focus

The idea of a resistance in a twisted world where a drunk barbarian becomes a ruler bc of simple tonic can and this dumbus has to fix all bc of an accident is so cool, it could be cool to bring him back

Idk those r my thoughts I rlly like the game even tho if it feels so wonky at times and the level design is confusing as hell sometimes (I played the n64 version btw I'm aware there are more versions just like with R2 smh)

The General

This is a mixup of his original design as it appears in Rayman 2 and Tonic Trouble + a deleted character (The Chief) who really looks like him and was going to be the villain of a Rayman 2 prototype.

Okay the funny thing about this is when I mentioned that Gix worked in an alien army for a General, I actually was thinking about making a General of Joe's species as well. But then somebody on Amino told me about the General that appeared in Rayman 2 (I didn't remember him because he only appeared like...in one scene only??) and also in Tonic Trouble (a game for testing the 3D before making Rayman 2) and I thought of taking the general from that game and turn him into the general I had in mind first.

✨HEADCANON TIME!✨

Aliens of Joe's species are very rare, this is because their original leader passed away and since then they have not been able to remain stable and have declined a lot in terms of number.

One day the aliens of the species that appear in Tonic Trouble arrived on their planet, and seeing it so disastrous the General offered himself as leader and since then the two races of aliens established an alliance, this means that they coexist together and collaborate in the invasions and others.

Now the General's main objective is to conquer the Glade of Dreams after the failure of his other ally, Razorbeard...but Rayman won't make it so easy for him.

Since I saw Suzy I realized that her clothes and Tarayzan's had a certain similarity in terms of pattern, that and that they both have a gold earring (although I did not draw it for her in this picture, sorry 😔). So it came to my mind to draw a picture of the two, since I also wanted to draw Tarayzan one of these days...Well, it looks like he is trying to flirt~

But yeah, Ed and Suzy are married in this AU! (All the events of Tonic Trouble had taken place years ago) and I imagined that the wedding rings of Ed's species are blue/cyan coloured!
