tom wants to feel good post-divorce, wants to feel that he is in control of the narrative &thus needs to “prove” that he’s over shiv. he doesnt want to be seen just by himself tho (no wife &no wingman? very divorced vibes) so he ropes greg in after a few strongly worded pleas.

greg probably subconsciously knows he’s into men at this point but is full comphet. fucking around town w/ tom puts tom into a good mood &greg likes it when tom is in a good mood. so he goes along w/ it bc even tho the sexual encounters are not exactly fulfilling, it makes him feel like a macho playboy, which has never happened to him before. he’s so excited when tom offhandedly gives them the name disgusting brothers as it officially ties them together as a unit, a team, a family. tom regrets the nickname immediately.

tom would lead them into talking to girls at parties, using greg as a launching pad to talk himself up. the girls would giggle, come back to the hotel w/ them &have mediocre vanilla sex in their separate rooms. tom isn’t actually into this either but he loves the novelty of it, it makes him feel like a man.

the next day they would shoo the girls outta their rooms &do a play-by-play over brunch hungover. greg is initially embarrassed to say (“what happened to don’t kiss &tell?” “what greg, are we in middle school? give me the dirty deats!”) but relents as usual. greg plays up his performance (“yeah man, she came like? three times?”) which tom doesn’t truly believe but listens w/ rapt attention. tom rattles off his exploits in confusing &unsexy detail.

tom gets off on greg saying nasty shit to him &greg gets off on the attention &saying nasty shit to tom. they both ignore the tightness in their pants &continue their charade as players that bag hot models

they did a threesome once but even tho they came harder compared to their previous encounters, the eye contact &touches between them during the act made them more aroused than they’d care to admit. so they never did it again &never spoke about it, pretending it didn’t happen :)
