Cerita pagi ini: . Karena hujan, El batal beli donat di warung kompeks tetangga. Dia mau donatnya, aku mau jalan paginya (dan pisang goreng hangat 😆). Nggak punya makanan siap santap dan El belum pengen makan nasi. Akhirnya buru-buru bikin pancake sampai nggak sempat cek dulu semua bahan. Tepung, telur, susu, gula, garam pasti ada. Nah giliran cari bahan yang jarang dipakai alias baking powder, eh yang dicari nggak kelihatan. Tapi tak ada baking powder, baking soda pun jadi. Walau pancakenya tak se-montok harapan, yang penting tetep dilahap. Gimana nggak lahap coba? Tanki cintanya full. Dari awal dia mau ikut bikin, nimbang-ngaduk-nuang semuanya dilibatin. Pas udah jadi mau pakai topping suka-suka dia, dibolehin. Mau toppingnya dioles, dicolek, dicocol, ditabur, dibebasin. Cara makannya pakai garpu atau langsung dicomot pakai tangan, terserah aja asal bukan pakai kaki. See? Lahap adalah hasil dari lapar + happy! 😃 . PS: Di rumah ini cuma ada 2 tersangka untuk kasus barang berpindah tempat. Boy atau El. Dua orang ini sama-sama aktif, suka pakai barang tapi nggak suka balikin. Bedanya tersangka #1 lebih sering inget spesifik barangnya terakhir ditaruh di mana. Tersangka #2 kalau ditanya jawabannya antara 2: “Di mana ya?” atau “Coba lihat di kamar sebelah”. Something to consider 🤔 Posted @withrepost • @newwaysnutrition How do they even survive off of eating this little?! 🤪💆‍♀️ Here's the thing. Our interpretations of what a child needs to eat are just that, interpretations. It's a guess. Nothing more. Sure, we can say most kids need around "x" calories to thrive. But there are plenty of kids who eat way less than that, or more than that, and they're still thriving!⠀ ⠀ As hard as it can be to accept, it's not our job to "get" our kids to eat. Trying to get them to eat inevitably leads to them eating less, and trying to get them to eat less leads them to eat more. (Scroll a bit back for my post on pressure during meals for more on this.) It's our job to get the food on the table at consistent times throughout the day. That's it. Job done. It's not your job to coax your kid to eat more or less, to eat a certain amount of something, or to eat some of all of their food. That's their job when it comes to eating. And as soon as we start to do their job for them, it leads to struggles at mealtimes.⠀ ⠀ When we look at how much a child is eating, we look at it over the period of a week, and sometimes even a month. We don't look at how much they eat in a single day. Because their natural appetites vary. One day they might be really hungry, and then not for a few more days. They might get all their calories for the day in one meal, or even for the week. However your child eats, the best thing we can do for them is to foster their own intuition around how much they need to eat. And if you're still worried about how much they're eating, check their growth curve at your next doctor's appointment.
