#to think Donnie had to slowly replace

Note
This is just like a general question, but which of the turtles do you think would be the most gentle vs so rough you can't walk for YEARS {exaggeration}
Outside of mating season? I still think it would depend on circumstances, I can see them all being gentle and rough.
I think Raph would overall be the gentler one. He's HUGE, and he's terrified to break you. Your guys first couple times having sex is mainly just him using his mouth or fingers to get you ready to take his cock. He is mainly focused on your pleasure than his, though he does love when you try to make it up to him after. When he feels comfortable trying to go inside, that too is a process. He tends to take things very slow and gentle to make sure you can handle him, and once he knows you can then it can slowly ramp up to being rougher. You've... had to replace the bed several times cause Raph keeps breaking the headboard from gripping it too hard or the mattress frame caves in from force of the act itself. Mikey is 50/50. He doesn't have to worry as much about hurting you, but he is a sap for more slow and romantic sex. He loves just endlessly praising you and leaving kisses to your jaw, neck and shoulders while he slowly thrusts into you. But there are times where he can be rough. He likes the idea of having so much control over you, that he can control whether you cum or not- and how many orgasms he can pull out of you. Of course, he's still a huge sweetheart during aftercare- but more than once has he had to carry you to the bathroom to get you cleaned up because your legs feel like jelly. Who is the roughest is a tie between Leo and Donnie. While Raph ends up breaking more the things surrounding the two of you, the twins more often break you more than anything. Toys, ropes, collars, you name it- they have done it to you. Leo, the ever-smug bastard likes to tie you up and keep vibrating toys inside you. He'll sit back and watch as you squirm, moan and beg while he jerks himself off. This can sometimes last HOURS, depending on how merciful he's feeling. Though however, he is a sucker for soft sleepy sex. He'll hold you close to his plastron as he thrusts into you from behind, leaving little kisses on your shoulder as he whispers praise and how much he adores you. Donnie is fairly the same, though he does like to be more involved as he teases you with toys. As a sex machine is pumping into you, he'll throat fuck you at the same pace. Or he'll have you in his lap as he works, his cock stuffed into you but not allowing you to move while a vibrator is pressed against your clit on the lowest setting. He likes pushing your limits, always wanting to push just one more orgasm from you- just to see how much of a mess he can make you. Though he does have his moments where he just wants to appreciate you. He is HEAVY on the body worship, and will take his sweet time as he kisses and praises every inch of your beautiful skin.
So yeah, Raph is the roughest in terms of property damage- but Donnie is pretty much the roughest when it comes to breaking a person. But in terms of mating season, you are bound to bed rest for weeks no matter who it is.

I know that I'm supposed to be working on chapter 6 of The Future Left Behind but there was a Cass Apocalyptic Series update today and I had to cry a little so here we are:
Donatello Hamato knew that death was no big deal.
It was a natural biological process which brought every person aware of it to the easy conclusion that everyone and everything died at some point. Dad, Cassandra, the others… They all died, yes, but it was fine. Of course, it was. It’s not like he thought about it almost every day, mourning them and their lives more than he knew them. No, of course he didn’t. That’s not what they would’ve wanted him to do. Well, maybe except for Cassandra. She would enjoy a lifelong mourning for herself. Even though Donnie never understood that.
Never – until now.
Until it was finally time for him to think about it too.
Donatello Hamato knew that he is going to die.
He couldn’t change it. Couldn’t deny it. Couldn’t delay it. He knew. He tried. He tried so many things in the quiet of his lab, but none succeeded. None of them got any results. None of them did anything. He didn’t do anything. And now it was too late. Too many responsibilities, too little time. Too many Krangs too few defence mechanisms and artillery. Too many words and not enough air to say all of them. Too many turtle piles that will be incomplete. Too many lives will be broken. Too many evenings will be spent in dark silence…
Too many things that he will miss.
Donatello Hamato was sure his family will win the war.
Not him. Not the Krang. Not any other survivors group. His family. He knew that they were the last and only hope of this planet. He knew that if there was anyone he could count on, it was them. Raph, Leo, Mikey, April, Draxum, Casey… He knew that they will be fine. They will be okay. Maybe they’ll hurt, maybe they’ll lose a limb or two. But they will survive. They’ll stay alive. They’ll carry on. He wasn’t as important as they pictured him to be: he could easily be replaced by a quantum computer! Not like he had one, of course, but he could build one.
Back in the day.
Maybe.
He wanted to, for a long time now.
But apparently, that was not a dream he could fulfill.
Donatello Hamato wanted to be remembered.
He didn’t say it, but he was sure everyone knew. His desire to get a Nobel prize, to be in a history book, to put his name on everything and anything… Everyone knew why he did it. Because he was scared of being forgotten. Because he was scared that once he will leave this planet, everything he did will too. He wanted to be irreplaceable. And now it seemed his main problem. Why didn’t he build a program that would be accessible to others? Why didn’t he give everyone a password? Why didn’t he think about this possibility? Why did no one tell him to wake up and stop feeling immortal? What if he suddenly died in battle instead of slowly decaying as he did now, having a limited, but still significant amount of time to prepare everyone for his passing?!
Donatello Hamato felt himself being placed in Raph’s metal hands, a soft blanket and the warmth of Mikey’s magic wrapped around him, just like all of his brothers’ arms.
Donatello Hamato stared into the space before him, slowly feeling his chest getting tighter.
Donatello Hamato tried bringing his fingers together into a fist to try and hold on to Mikey’s cloak and Leo’s scarf.
Donatello Hamato couldn’t move.
And after a couple of seconds, Donatello Hamato was gone.
@somerandomdudelmao I just wanted to say that I am a huge fan and I absolutely love the way you show emotions through your comics. like I can't explain it but the absolute pain in that one last frame was AHKGKFJSJFJKDHKFKFK.

Leo meets (y/n) for the first time....and is absolutely whipped
Character: Leonardo
Writing type: One-shot
Warnings: just some good ol’ fluffy fluff :) but when I tell you Leo is WHIPPED ;) and if you couldn’t tell, this is pre-movie
Author’s note: I promise I’m gonna get to the other turtles soon. I just have Leo on the brain and I can’t get him out !! and let me know if I got too mushy, cause I feel like I did. I feel like i did a bad job on this one, but I’m not sure. you guys let me know. ( header credit to qoeww )
...
“This isn’t exactly how I expected Pizza Thursday to go!” Leo exclaimed as he got into a battle stance, the pizza--monster--yokai--thing roaring, mushrooms and olives flying out its mouth
“Yeah, well I don’t think everyone expects a mutant pizza monster to attack them on their weekly outing,” Donnie sighed, flipping down his goggles as he pressed a button on his staff, two jets appearing at the ends.
“It’s alright. This guy doesn’t seem too tough. We’ll bake him and get back to Pizza Thursday before we kn--MIKEY!! STOP EATING THE MONSTER!” Raph’s eyes went wide as he caught sight of his youngest brother.
The pizza-yokai cocked a bell-pepper eyebrow, looking down at it’s foot, only to let out a horrified shout at the sight of Mikey nibbling on his ankle.
“Whraf can I sayph? Hessh sawwr goowd!” Mikey smiled with a full mouth, disregarding his brother and continuing to chow down.
“Gross, man,” Leo grimaced, shuddering at the sight as he cringed away from the scene.
Donnie sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “’Angelo, if you’re gonna eat him, at least talk without your mouth full.”
“ENOUGH!” The yokai roared, flinging Mikey off his ankle and into Donnie, the two crashing into a window.
“Guys!” Raph exclaimed, snapping his head over to the window, worriedly.
Two shaky thumbs up slowly raised from behind the now shattered window, and Raph let out a sigh of relief.
“Oh, you’re in for it now,” Leo spat, his usual shit-eating grin replaced with an icy glare.
“Leo, wait! Don’t r--.” But the sound of a closing portal cut Raph off, making him groan in frustration.
“Rush in.”
Leo appeared in mid-air, right in front of the monster, and sliced off the olives it used for eyes, chopping off its weird crust feet once he landed on the ground.
“Guess you could say I really...sliced things up,” his smirk returned as he proudly stood up, his back to the yokai.
The thing, now blind and footless, let out a blood-curdling roar, swinging and flailing in every direction like a wild animal.
“Leo, behind you!” Raph, Don, and Mikey warned in unison, Leo not turning around fast enough.
The monster’s cheese arm sent Leo flying head first towards a brick wall.
“LEO!” his brother’s frantically shouted, trying to make it to the wall before he collided.
“Nope, nope nope!” Leo quickly said, creating a portal in front of himself just in the nick of time.
Now, instead of having his brains splattered on a wall, he was now strewn over a whole bunch of soft garbage bags.
He let out a sigh of relief, tiredly letting his head lay limp.
‘Never thought I’d be so thankful for trash.’
But as his angle changed, he was able to view the ledge of a rooftop, what he saw making his heart stop dead in it’s tracks.
It felt as if all the world’s distractions were sucked out, horns, sirens, the squeaking of rats, all to let this moment stand alone.
Sitting on the ledge was the most jaw-dropping girl Leo had ever seen.
Her hair, her eyes, skin. Hell, it had looked like she had been dozing off. But her half-lidded smile at the stars made his heart start up again, now thumping twice as fast.
Leo quickly rubbed his eyes, just to be sure he wasn’t seeing things.
He hit his head pretty hard.
But she was still there, looking down at him, actually. She looked concerned.
Wait, was she talking?
“Huh?” Leo groggily asked, shaking himself out of his reverie as he focused on what she was saying
“I asked if you were you alright? You crashed pretty hard,” you called from above, your voice smooth and silky.
Practically music.
“Oh, yeah! I’m okay! Right as reign!” Leo smiled, quickly changing his sprawled out position to a relaxed one, mentally scolding himself once he realized what he said.
‘Right as reign? You are such an idiot.’
A kind smile quirked on your lips. “That still sounded bad. I’m gonna come down,” you squinted, trying to make out the figure below.
Leo frantically got up, dusting off banana peels and stray apple cores as he drew his swords.
He had to get out of there and fast.
There was no way she could see him. She’d probably be grossed out at the fact he was a turtle-guy.
Don’t get him wrong, he wanted to do nothing else but stay and talk to the super-model before him.
But being a mutant isn’t exactly the best conversation starter.
You carefully stood up, wary of you balance as you planted a foot right on the ledge.
But, unluckily, the brick fell out, causing you to free fall from the top of the roof.
You let out a terrified yelp, and without a beat, Leo was already in the air, catching you and pulling you tightly against his plastron.
You curiously felt at his plastron, making the poor turtle turn dark red, before opening your eyes, going wide at the sight of him.
In that moment, your stomach dropped to your feet.
The portal that he just jumped out of was no never mind right now, you were more concerned with him.
Even with the turtle-y parts, you still found this man incredibly handsome. Shit, if anything, the turtle-y bits might’ve assisted in that department.
“Whoa, careful there,” Leo smiled, safely landing on the ground with the two of you still in tact.
“Wouldn’t want you falling for me.”
You smiled as Leo put you down, a soft laugh leaving your lips that made him practically melt.
“Are you alri--.”
You quickly wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him into a tight hug, giving him a quick squeeze.
“Thank you for catching me. I’d probably be dead if you didn’t,” you sighed, the recent events now sinking in.
Leo was thanking the stars that hugs didn’t let you see the other person, because on the other side, he was blushing like a maniac.
“No problem,” he, surprisingly, managed to say without a voice-crack. “What were you--uh--what were you doing on the ledge, anyway?”
The two of you pulled away, and you awkwardly scratched the back of your neck, hoping you didn’t overstep anything with the hug.
“Oh, I just like to sit there and think. The view helps me really focus,” you sheepishly answered, looking up at him through your lashes, the height difference now very clear.
“I’m just glad you were here to catch me.”
He smiled a bashful smile, avoiding eye contact with you at all costs. “It was no biggie.”
You smiled, thoughtlessly checking your watch to see that it was way past midnight.
“Shit. It’s past my curfew. I gotta go,” you sadly sighed, pointing back to your building.
Leo pouted.
You were going? Already? But he had just met you.
“Will I see you again?” he asked, a little more desperate than he wanted.
You grinned, shooting him a nod. “Of course. I got too many questions to not see you again.”
You whipped out your phone, pulling up the contacts app. “Here,” you handed it to him, “Type in your cell so we can text.”
His smile stretched from ear to ear as he carefully took your phone, punching in his number and handing it back to you.
You took the phone back and threw an arm around his shoulder, pulling him in for a selfie and taking it in one motion, the poor turtle blurry and blushing.
“There,” you quietly snickered, making the unprepared photo his profile picture. “All set.”
You turned to the turtle, giving him a regal curtsy. “Until we meet again, good sir.”
Leo smirked, playing along and bowing. “Until we meet again, madame.”
And with that, you flashed him one more smile before stuffing your hands in your pockets, walking around the alley corner and right into your complex.
Once Leo was completely sure you were out of ear-shot, he sighed, slumping against the alley wall.
‘That....was amazing.’
He whipped out his phone, his heart wanting to text you right away, but his head knew it was too soon, scraping the idea.
But what he did see, was 15 missed texts from Donnie, 6 from Mikey, and 146 from Raph.
‘Oh, I am so dead.’

Tumblr media
A/n: You guys asked for Donnie so you shall receive. This could've been a whole fic but I'm pretty lazy today. But maybe if you guys want I'll make this into a whole fic
Genre: Fluff, Headcannons

It had been a habit for as long as you could remember
But despite what certain people may have thought you really only used nicknames as a way to show affection to your friends
So when you had become friends with April and eventually met the turtles this habit of yours persisted on throughout your friendship
But this habit had really only caught the attention of one specific turtle
Donnie
You and Donnie hit it off immediately, you found you admired the purple clad turtle for his scientific intellect and he found you to be one of the only people that could get a genuine laugh out of him
It was blatantly obvious to everyone that you two got along, in fact they would go as far to say that you two were pretty attached to each other even though Donnie would never say it aloud
So one day when you and Donnie had been sitting in the kitchen together as you cooked and you had called him ‘Dear’ he lost it
Donnie simply ceased to function so after five minutes of silence between the two of you you had spoken up
“Donnie?”
Once again you had been met with silence
You quirked an eyebrow turning to look at the purple brother
But Donnie had snapped out of it for long enough to stand up and mumble a jumble excuse before dashing out of the kitchen
This confused you to no end but without a proper explanation you stood awkwardly by yourself in the kitchen until a certain orange turtle had walked in
Meanwhile Donnie was sitting at his desk in his lab contemplating that moment in his mind over and over again as his face began to heat up more and more with each passing second
It had been at least half an hour an Donnie had grown bored without you around to talk to so begrudgingly he shuffled his way to the kitchen
Donnie stopped mid way to hear your laughter
Confused he crept closer to hear another voice
He peaked around the corner to see you and Mikey laughing and talking as if you were old friends
Suddenly Donnie felt a twinge of jealousy twist up in his chest yet he continued to watch
But the feeling only grew as he heard you call Mikey “Sweetie”
Well that was enough for Donnie as he stormed in glaring harshly at Mikey as you stood there awkwardly until Mikey quietly excused himself from the kitchen leaving you and Donnie facing each other
For once you had actually felt tense around him
But you shook the tense, awkward feeling from your body as began to speak up
“So um are you okay?” you asked hesitatinly, worried you might have upset him earlier
“Yeah, yeah, I was just kinda…embarrassed earlier.”  he murmured quietly
Then Donnie grimaced
“Then Mikey came in here and…” he mumbled glaring at the ground
You suddenly understood exactly what he meant, it was like everything had suddenly clicked
Donnie was jealous
You offered a soft smile as you walked up to Donnie and wrapped your arms around his torso tightly
“Don’t worry I’m not replacing you with Mikey.” you said as Donnie scoffed
“I wasn’t thinking that…”
“Sure bud.”
Donnie slowly melted into your embrace returning your smile

Chapter Eighteen of I'm Sorry, Teenage Mutant What Now? is now up! The Hamato Family finally goes back home. And now everything is okay and back to normal... right? Read it on ao3 or below the cut.
[ prev ]
The world wasn’t spinning anymore.
Damn, did that mean he was dead? Cowabummer.
As he looked around, however, Leo slowly realized (for the second time over a very short period) that, no, he was not dead. Or, at least, he didn’t think he was dead-- despite the fact that he was absolutely surrounded by a warm, comforting light, enveloping him and holding him close.
He could hear the roars of the crowd in the distance. And though he was no longer flailing through the air, his head was still reeling, having not quite realized that they weren’t falling anymore. And as he slowly gathered his bearings, he realized he could see his siblings, all gathered together close; held behind the protective fold of a bright red light, shielded from the debris and dust that had been sent flying through the ring.
Vaguely, he came to the conclusion that the Ikuchi had fallen.
And he hadn’t.
It wasn’t until the red light faded and was replaced by his eldest brother’s tight embrace that he came back to reality properly, stumbling a bit, his eyes wide and his brain still buzzing a little; held up only by his brother’s grip rather than his own strength.
“... Did you catch me?” He finally managed to get his tongue to move.
“Never do that again,” Raph hissed in reply, and about half a second later, Mikey, April, and even Donnie had joined them, all stumbling into him and clinging to him all at once.
“What is wrong with you!? You idiot!” April cried, burying her face into his shoulder.
“Why did you do that?!” Mikey wailed through sobs. “I told you guys! I told you not to protect me! Why would you do that!? D-don’t-- don’t do that! Don’t e-ever do that again! Why don’t any of you-- e-ever listen to me? I would have-- I--! Leo!”
“Sorry!” Leo found it in himself to laugh, though even he could admit that he sounded just a little bit deranged. Eugh boy, were things still spinning? “It’s fine!... I knew Raph would save me.”
“No you didn’t!” Raph snapped. “Raph didn’t even know Raph was gonna save ya!”
“How did you do that?” April gaped.
“I don’t know!” Raph laughed, his voice stumbling slightly with the threat of oncoming tears. “I just knew that if I didn’t save him, I’d never hear the end of it…!”
“I told you all not to,” Mikey wept, clinging to him. “I told you…”
“Aw, I knew you had magic powers,” Leo slurred. Okay, maybe he was still a little out of it. “You just needed… the right motivation…! All part of the plan…”
“Liar,” Raph hissed, tightening his hold on him, bundling his brother up close to his chest and burying his face against his shoulder. “If you ever pull some bullshit like that ever again, I swear to god, I’m gonna murder you--”
His next words were cut off by yet another shuddering crash of impact, nearly tossing the gang from their feet. And Leo was still not exactly feeling steady, per se, but turning to face the glowering form of an angry spider did wonders for sobering a person up.
“Well then,” Big Mama hissed, her eyes narrowed into slits as she glared down at them. “Wasn’t that an impressive performance.”
“I told you we’d give you a big hurrah. Was that cool or what?” Leo laughed, pulling away from Raph so that he could stand on his own-- stumbling a bit, but then finding his balance again, summoning up whatever he had left in his body to face her alongside his siblings. He could practically see Big Mama grit her jaw.
“Isn’t that just… splendifirous,” she hissed. “Well! Big Mama never breaks a deal! She does, however, alt--”
“Okay, hang on. Hold that thought. Sorry. Just. One second,” Leo said quickly, moving to shove his hand into his jean pockets, digging around for a moment as he approached the other.
“Oh! Okay. Here. Here you go,” he hummed, pulling a tiny black coin, etched with sigils that he couldn’t even begin to comprehend, from his pocket, where it had lived ever since it was retrieved from Big Mama’s own vault by Mayhem. He pressed it firmly into her insectile palm. “This is for you.”
Big Mama paused.
She stared.
She bristled.
Every hair on her body stood on end as she snarled, puffing up twice the size that she had been a second ago. She bared her fangs, digging her claws into the ground as she loomed over the group, a furious hiss escaping her as she leaned in close to Leo. Beyond a slightly dizzy rock on one foot, he stood his ground, keeping his gaze even and trained on her.
“Go collect your father and get out of my Nexus,” she spat, turning sharply away.
Inwardly, Leo let out a massive breath of relief, his entire body sagging ever-so-slightly. He nearly fell over as he turned on his heel to try to re-join his slack-jawed siblings.
“You heard the spider lady--” he said, wobbling dangerously. Luckily, Raph and Donnie were quick to react, each grabbing an arm on either side to keep him upright. Oh thank god. He was still thinking he might just throw up. Or pass out. Maybe both.
“What the hell was that!?” Raph hissed, his eyes wide and his voice hushed. “Leo! What did you give her!?”
“Honestly,” Leo said, chuckling the tiniest bit beneath his breath. “I have no fucking clue.”
---
The rest of the day was a blur.
Mikey had never seen their father cry so much, nor heard him scream so loud, informing Leo at least eleven times that he was grounded for the rest of his life for scaring his family like that. And though he didn’t necessarily disagree, Mikey felt guilty the entire time. He kept wondering if anyone was going to yell at him for needing to be saved in the first place, but no one did.
They collected their dad. They collected Mayhem. They collected all their things.
They walked out of the Battle Nexus, back out the same way they had entered four days earlier. Mikey dimly noted the alleyway where they had huddled together and plotted just days ago. People repeatedly stopped and begged for their father’s autograph, seeming unsurprised to see him out and about, and he politely declined each and every request.
Their father clearly knew his way around the Hidden City. He knew the way home, too, and soon, they were back up on the surface-- in New York City.
They were in New York City again. And it looked the same.
From there, they called 911.
Mikey barely remembered the ambulance ride, though he remembered thinking, wow, I’ve never been in an ambulance before. He wanted to tell someone that he was okay, he wasn’t hurt, that it was their dad and Leo that they had to worry about, but he couldn’t quite get his tongue to work. Every time he tried to open his mouth to talk, he’d just start crying again. Every time someone asked him a question, tried to ask what happened, if he was okay, where it hurt, he’d try to reply and instead tears would just bubble up again and spill over, painting streaks down his face over and over again until his head hurt.
Maybe that was a blessing, because he had no idea what he would have said. Their dad, however, did. Mikey was silently shocked by how easily he lied. By how effortlessly he weaved together a tapestry of tales to explain their absence-- wearily and emotionally describing the crazed fan who had kidnapped him and held him hostage in their apartment. He tearfully explained how his children had been contacted by the culprit and foolishly attempted to take matters into their own hands after being warned not to contact the police, only to be captured themselves until they were able to make their escape.
It sounded dramatic. It sounded implausible, if Mikey was being honest, like the plot of a soap opera. But the way his Dad said it, it sounded… so believable.
And everyone seemed to eat it up without question in a way that made Mikey squint, but in a way that he didn’t question, either.
They got to the hospital. They patched up all of Dad’s injuries-- the cracked ribs, the bruises, the cuts and scrapes, the bloody knuckles and torn muscles and swollen joints. Mikey could tell he was anxious, but he somehow didn’t panic even half as much as he did going in for a physical. He kept a brave face throughout, recounting the story as many times as he needed to, firmly declining any opioids, and keeping his focus squarely on Mikey and his siblings the entire time, even as doctors actively treated his wounds.
After some fluids and a long nap, Leo bounced right back, seemingly no worse for the wear. They wrapped Raph’s hands. Treated Donnie’s concussion and his back. Even April had managed to sprain her wrist in the fight, a mild and easily treatable injury, but an injury nonetheless.
But he was fine. Even after tripping and falling in the Nexus; he wasn’t hurt at all.
He felt fine.
They gave him fluids, anyway, for how much he had bailed out in quiet sobs and sniffles.
April’s mom and dad met them at the hospital, getting there almost as soon as they did, and were in absolute pieces. Mikey had never seen April’s dad cry before, but he had been experiencing a lot of firsts of that ilk recently, so he supposed he wasn’t that surprised. They hugged April and didn’t let her go until she insisted that they were crushing her and she couldn’t breathe. She, much like Leo, was informed that she was grounded for the rest of her life for doing something so reckless and stupid. Their dad apologized at least eighty times for putting her in harm’s way, for getting her involved in such danger, but April’s parents insisted that they were just relieved that everyone was okay, and Mikey could tell that they really meant it.
Their dad and April’s parents were really good friends, actually. He had almost boundless memories of the three of them hanging out and chatting while he and his siblings played. They’d often sit out on the front stoop together when it was nice outside. April’s mom came over regularly for tea. Her dad and his dad played baseball together, even, on the weekends sometimes.
He supposed they had probably been scared for him, too.
And then eventually, they were just…
Home.
Before Mikey knew it, he was back in his own room, staring at the wall and wondering how the hell he got here.
Was this real? He kept waiting to wake up, and it didn’t happen. Did all that actually happen? When he reached back through his memories and touched them, they wiggled like Jell-O, and he wasn’t quite sure if he could trust them or not.
He shifted in place, hearing the springs of the mattress creak beneath him. He smoothed his hands over the cotton of his bedspread, feeling the soft, knitted texture beneath the pads of his fingers.
He stared up at the glow-in-the-dark stars that his dad had put there for him when he was four.
He was certain he was here now. They had… made it back home. His brothers were home, too. They had all retreated back to their own rooms for the night when they all finally got home, at nearly four in the morning, all exhausted from the experience. Even their dad was home. He knew he was. He watched him get here with them.
Very slowly, Mikey sank down in bed, laying flat on his back.
And even though he had been crying all day, it felt like he was finally letting the dam burst when he reached deep down into his chest and pulled out an aching, shuddering, genuine sob.
---
Raph didn’t think he could ever miss his own bed so much. He spread himself out, splaying out his limbs like a starfish, before eventually rolling over onto his side, curling up and finding the closest stuffed animal to grab and hang onto.
He didn’t want to admit it, but he had been starting to wonder if they would ever see their home again.
But now they were here. All of them, safe and sound. Their dad included. Their dad was home.
They got their dad home.
He got everyone back home.
But somehow, he didn’t feel better yet.
That wasn’t really true. He did! Mostly. He kind of felt better. He-- he was relieved, certainly. He was so grateful that everyone was home, safe and sound-- that everyone was safe, that Dad was okay, that Leo was okay, he just…
He hadn’t expected to feel so…
Angry.
But now, laying here in his bed, staring off at the wall and listening to their quiet house, all filled up to the brim with his family, that was all he could feel. It felt sour in his stomach, poking and prodding at the edges of his muscles and ribs like a horned creature, snorting hot and pawing at his gut and stamping its hooves, jabbing at him over and over until his face felt ugly and awful and warm.
He was angry that they were lied to. That they were tricked. That their lives weren’t what they thought they were all this time.
He was angry at the pain that had been inflicted on their family. For all the tears that his siblings had cried over the past two-and-a-half weeks. He was angry at the suffering that their father had endured for the entertainment of others in a glorified fight pit. He was angry that there were people who would do that to them-- who thought that that was okay. He was angry for every drop of blood that he had lost.
He was angry at himself for believing something untrue; for how naive and silly it made him feel, even if he recognized that the circumstances were complicated to say the least. He was angry for how close he had come to letting his family slip through his fingers.
But mostly, he was angry that their father had ever agreed to go away from them.
He and his siblings had been prepared to go to the ends of the earth to find him and bring him home and reunite their family. Raph would have done anything to get him back. They all would have. They were ready to give up everything if they had to.
And he had agreed to stay away?
He had agreed to leave them behind?
He was shocked by how meaningless he could suddenly feel in the face of his own father, who had never before made him feel anything but loved.
His anger smoldered inside of him like a stubborn campfire, unwilling to be put out, even as hot tears of frustration singed their way down his face.
---
He couldn’t sleep.
Wow, what a surprise.
If he was being honest with himself, he hadn’t even tried, but he had very little interest in engaging with the process right now. Besides that, he wasn’t even that interested in the prospect of sleeping at all. Just the idea of trying to sleep right now was exhausting and wholly unappealing. He was too tired to try to fall asleep. He just wanted…
Well, he didn’t actually know what he wanted.
He supposed that’s how he had ended up here.
Leo had been curled up in the same place on the floor for hours now, his knees drawn up to his chest and his head resting on his knees as he just… stared at himself in the mirror. Examined his body, a tiny frown on his face.
It looked the same. Just the same as he always had. The same stripey face and spotted belly. The same curly blonde hair with dark roots poking through. His chin curved the same way it always did, his waist still pinched the same way, his shoulders sloped just the same as they always had.
He had never loved his body. He knew he acted all confident and cocky, and that wasn’t all for show-- there were times when he really did feel confident. Lots of times, actually. He was perfectly capable of being confident and capable and fucking bright as a person, and not as a body, and no, he wasn’t afraid to declare to anyone who wanted to listen that he was very cute, thank you very much, and yes, he did have great taste in clothes, and yes, his hair was amazing, wasn’t it? I’ll tell you what conditioner I use--
But truthfully, he didn’t love his body. He didn’t hate it, either-- it had just existed up until now. It had just been, and he had dealt with it, liked the parts that he liked and tolerated the parts he didn’t, making plans to customize in the future, and it was… okay.
But he had never despised his own skin so deeply as he did in this moment.
Looking at himself now, he couldn’t find a single thing to enjoy. He looked at himself in the mirror and he glowered, curling his lips in disgust, even though he was unable to look away.
It was the same as it was before. Nothing had changed. But somehow, he hated it now.

Donnie had always preferred to base his world on facts and logic over emotions. He had always found that this was what worked best for him. If he collected data, examined it, and allowed these values to influence his decisions, everything tended to work out better. No, admittedly, this did not, by any means, guarantee success, much to his annoyance, but he had run the statistics, and facts worked. They were reliable. He could lean on them and count that they would hold him up. He could place his trust there.
For example--
Fact: Hamato Donatello is adept in the care of tropical plants. This was supported by a vast array of data. He had no less than two dozen different varieties of houseplants flourishing in the living room alone that he could point to support this claim, thank you very much, and they were all thriving under his expert care. This was a fact. This was something that he knew to be true. He could rely on this. He could lean on this. It would not change.
Even those that he, at times, found painful, he could still count on.
For example--
Fact: Hamato Donatello is bad at talking to new people. He didn’t like it, but it was a fact. Never in his life had he met someone and been able to strike up a conversation without, at some point, putting his foot in his mouth and fucking it up or floundering. He always seemed to find a way to mess it up, even if he didn’t realize it until later on. Even if he, in the moment, thought that things were going great! He was… better than he had been. He had learned, over time, and gotten the hang of the art of conversation, at least to a degree. People he knew, he could handle, no problem but someone new? It was just…
It was just a bullet point in the long list of micro-facts that had always supported the claim of, “Hamato Donatello is different from other people. He doesn’t fit in, and there’s something that separates him from his peers.”
And he had always known this. He was diagnosed with autism when he was five. He had always known that he was different, that he didn’t quite match with everyone else. It had always felt like he was missing something; like handbooks or a set of rules had been passed out at some point, and he never got his copy. There were times when it had bothered him, sure, but he had long since come to terms with it. He had found people and places where he could fit, where ‘matching’ mattered a lot less, where the mold that he was expected to adhere to had far more give to it. He had spent years in therapy discussing this gap; years trying to learn the content of the missing ruleset through secondhand explanations. And even if it wasn’t always his favorite fact, it was still a fact. It was something that he knew to be true. He could rely on this. He could lean on this. It would not change.
Or, well. He had thought so.
He had set up a new spreadsheet so he could run through all the data-- so he could review what he thought he had known, and that which he could no longer rely on. He got to work measuring just how patchworked his universe had suddenly become. Began evaluating just how much of the floor was actively falling out from beneath him, and put it all into neat, numbered rows and columns.
Fact: Hamato Donatello is an awarded athlete.
(Inconclusive. If he was only a talented swimmer because he was a mutant, could any of these accomplishments really be attributed to him, in all fairness? Further research needed.)
Fact: Hamato Donatello is autistic.
(Inconclusive. Can this diagnosis be considered valid if he was not human? There was no diagnosis criteria for turtles. Perhaps he was just odd and different and didn’t fit because he was a mutant. Or because he was a failed experiment. Further research needed.)
Fact: Hamato Donatello is a member of the Hamato family.
(Inconclusive. If he was a mutant rather than simply his father’s child, did he really belong on the family tree? Could he actually be considered a Hamato descendent? Was their father truly their father to begin with? Further research needed.)
Fact: Donatello is a human being.
(Inconclusive. Though he was still not sure what his exact standing was, or how he could be categorized now, it was very clear that he was not simply a human as previously believed. Further research needed.)
Fact: Donatello is a member of society, just like everyone else, and deserves to be treated with kindness and respect by others.
(Inconclusive. He was not a human, and therefore, it could not be said that he was a ‘member of society,’ nor that he inherently deserved anything based on this status, despite what his therapist Mossy had previously taught him. This statement was based on outdated information, and could no longer be taken at face value. Further research needed.)
Fact: Donatello belongs in human society.
(Inconclusive. Further research needed.)
---
April was kind of starting to think that maybe her parents might mean it when they said she was grounded for the rest of her life. And, to be fair, she knew that she had scared them.
A lot.
She had scared herself, too. If she was being honest, she was still scared.
It had been weeks since she had last been here, standing in her own bathroom, looking at herself in her own mirror as she brushed her teeth and got ready for bed. And it was all normal, all the same as it ever was, but--
Everything that had been keeping her upright the past three weeks, the adrenaline, the survival instincts, the desire to support her brothers and stay steady and hold them up while things fell apart, the desire to protect them, to figure things out, to investigate, to fix things, it was all…
It was all gone.
Everything that had been propping her up had suddenly given way, and she had just been carried up the stairs into the apartment by her dad, her arms wrapped around his neck like she was six again, getting home from a family outing that had gone late. And now she was sitting here in her bathroom and looking at her own face in the mirror and it was her face, and not anything spooky or mutated or unfamiliar, and that felt so unfair, somehow? And--
She hiccuped softly. And then she sobbed, until she eventually sank down onto the floor, curled up in a little heap and weeping softly.
Oh my god, what had just happened?
She could have died.
They all could have died.
Her brothers could have died. Leo could have died. She thought Leo was going to die.
She could have died.
She still had toothpaste in her mouth, and it was getting all down her chin and the front of her shirt, and it was fucking gross but she couldn’t really get herself to care. She just sat there and she cried until her mom knocked on the door, just barely cracking it open and joining her on the cold tile floor. And then, eventually, her dad had joined her, too, and she had wrapped herself up in their arms and practically climbed into his lap and just clung to them. She really didn’t know what else to do.
Something horrible almost happened. But it hadn’t. They were all okay. They were all home, but…
God, why did she feel like her little brother was still falling?
---
The whole way home, Yoshi was terrified that one of his children would begin talking to him. Terrified that one of them would ask some question that he wouldn’t be able to answer. But the journey back to their apartment was near silent. Somehow, that was almost worse.
He thought to himself, god, why is this your main concern right now? Why are you worrying about that, of all things? What is wrong with you?
He got everyone back home. He made sure each of his children ended up safely in their own beds. And, finally, he retreated back to his own.
He’d like to say that his room was just as he had left it, but that was untrue. It had clearly been ransacked multiple times, and he groaned softly, scrubbing at his face with his hands, wondering who all had been in here and what they had uncovered. He supposed there was nothing he could do about it right now.
He didn’t do much besides clear off his bed. One at a time, he removed the items stacked on top of it. The piles of old paperwork. The DVD cases. The dirty laundry. He didn’t have the energy to sort through any of it properly or put it away right now, so he simply placed it all to the side, stacking things on his dresser or tossing them across the room instead, promising himself that he would get to it in the morning and dreading the thought of it.
He would have a lot of things to do in the morning.
Internally, he scolded himself. Shouldn’t he be happy? Or at least relieved? This was the best case scenario. All of his children were home, safe and sound. He was home-- he would never have to set foot in the Battle Nexus again. He was free to live his life and raise his children, wasn’t he?
But the only thing he could find in his chest was dread, no matter how deep he dug. Very gingerly, he eased himself down onto his bed, laying out flat on his back and staring up at the ceiling. There were no answers up there. He had looked many, many times before, and he already knew. At the very least, it felt good to lie down. To finally lay down properly in a bed and allow his body a proper break.
Ah, if only he could allow his mind to do the same…
What the fuck was he going to say to them? What… could he say? How was he supposed to explain all the choices and mistakes he made-- to explain the things he had done and what he was, and then still look them in the eyes? Even worse-- would they still want to? Would they be able to look at him?
God. How could he have let this happen to them?
His eyes wandered aimlessly around his room, a very soft sigh working its way up his chest. He felt like he had come back from the dead. He felt like a ghost. A part of him had already accepted that he would never be back here. Had accepted that he would never see his children ever again. And now here they all were, right here in the same house as him. Only a few floors away.
It didn’t quite feel real yet.
He wanted, more than anything, to get up and go get them this very second. He wanted to gather them all up in his arms like he did when they were babies and pile them up in his bed with him. He wanted to hold them all and fall asleep that way, knowing that they were there and that they were close and that they were okay. He didn’t think he possibly could sleep otherwise.
But he didn’t do that.
He was afraid that if he tried, they wouldn’t want to come with him. And that fear was enough to keep him pinned in place, cold and still, staring blankly up at the ceiling.
He knew they were upset. He could feel that they were upset, and how could he blame them? They were justified. They had every right to be upset, to be angry with him, to hate him, after all he had kept from them! After all the ways he had failed them. He just…
He hadn’t known what else to do.
He still didn’t know what else to do.
This had never been his intention.
---
“Dad--”
“Don’t run in the house,” he replied, not even looking down at his son as he dashed into the kitchen, quite nearly crashing into his leg.
“I wasn’t!” Leo protested, even though he most certainly was, rolling his eyes with a huff. “Dad, I’m gonna be late! Hurry up! Justin and Ben are already waiting for me!”
“Oh, well, if I am going too slowly, I suppose that you can pack your own snacks for camp from now on--”
“Dad!”
“So ungrateful,” he tsked, scooping the last of the vegetables he was slicing up into his son’s bento box, handing it over to the impatient eight-year-old. “There. All the carrot sticks and sugar snap peas that a little turtle could ever ask for,” he teased. A rarely used nickname, but one that sugar peas always made him think of, given how excitedly they would be devoured on the rare occasion he was able to offer some when they were small.
Leo scoffed as he accepted the offering, shoving it into his backpack. “Dad, we’re too old for that game. We don’t play turtles anymore,” he huffed.
Yoshi froze.
“What?”
“We’re not little kids, Dad! We don’t play make-believe anymore!” Leo said matter-of-factly, shooting his dad an absolute withering look. Yoshi floundered for a moment, struggling to find his tongue, which suddenly felt heavy in his mouth, before he finally nodded.
“Yes… of course.”
“I’ll be home later! Tell Donnie not to go in my room or else I’ll know!” Leo yelled over his shoulder as he ran out the door, hopping down the steps to meet his two classmates who were attending the same summer camp, and Justin’s mother, who had kindly offered to walk them to the bus stop each morning. Yoshi watched him go, and he waved, but things felt… far off.
He sat down on the kitchen chair once Leo was gone, and thought about the conversation for quite some time, wondering if he had understood correctly.
After sitting there for about twenty minutes, he eventually got to his feet, shuffling up the stairs to Mikey’s room and knocking gently on the door.
“Yeahhhhhh?”
Yoshi peeked his head in, unsurprised to find his youngest bent over some elaborate arts and crafts project, currently busying himself in taping a pack of construction paper together to create a massive canvas, no doubt for his latest masterpiece. Yoshi sighed very softly through his nose, smiling for just a second as he shuffled his way in.
“What are you working on, my son?”
“‘S gonna be a painting. But I want it to be big!” He explained, throwing his hands out to illustrate. “So I’m making a super big paper to paint on first.”
“Ah, I see. You will have to show me when you are done. I’m sure it’ll be very impressive.”
“Mmm-hmmmm,” Mikey confirmed, quickly returning his attention back to his project, his tongue sticking out from between his lips with his intense focus. Yoshi hesitated for a moment before he spoke again.
“Orange, do you remember… playing turtles?”
“Yeah,” Mikey replied easily. “Why?”
“Well,” he wobbled for a second, choosing his words carefully. “What do you remember?”
“Uhhh,” Mikey tilted his head to the side for a second before he shrugged. “I dunno. It was just a game we used to play. We used to pretend to be turtles and stuff when we were little. We used to play it all the time!” He chirped. “Buuuuut we don’t really play it much anymore. Leo says we’re ‘too old’ for make-believe,” he sighed. “But he still plays Jupiter Jim. He says that’s ‘acting’ and it’s different, but it’s not,” he informed their father, giving him an exasperated look, as if to say, ‘can you believe he would say something like that?’
“... Ah. I see. Thank you, Mikey.”
“Why?” Mikey asked again, and Yoshi swallowed.
“Nothing, no reason! I was just thinking of something else… Also, ah, I wanted to ask you, what do you think about pizza for dinner tonight, my son?”
“YEAH! PIZZA!” Mikey immediately cheered, his face lighting up, and Yoshi inwardly sighed in relief. Pizza for dinner was a small price to pay to put an end to this conversation. After taking a few requests (demands) regarding toppings and which place they should order from, Yoshi was eventually able to escape from his child’s room, closing the door behind him as he made his way back out into the hall.
He slumped against the wall, staring up at the ceiling.
They…
Forgot. He hadn’t ever imagined that they would forget.

Four Versus One (Part 2)
Tumblr media
Platonic Yandere Cg!Hamato Brothers x Little!Reader
Warnings-Panic Attack, Drugging, Kidnapping, Being in the Dark, Crying, Paranoia
Notes- Only Donnie and Leo show up in this part but don't worry the other two will be in the next one
It had only been a week, but you were still reeling. You were completely paranoid. You had put tape or stickers on every device's camera in your house. You threw out your Tv and decided against replacing it. The only device you still really used after was your phone.
You even spoke to your therapist about what happened. She said you were most likely tired and stressed from taking care of your niece. She told you it was possible that you were both awake and asleep at the same time as that’s something she’s seen patients do before. She also assured you that she believes what you said, but that you were also right in there being a logical reason. You remember she told you to keep track of it, and tell her so you both can see if by chance it’s something more. She tried to calm your fears, but it had felt so real no words could pierce through your doubts.
Your poor niece had wanted to come visit to watch the show again, but you just couldn’t do it. You apologized to your sibling and told them something is going on and you don’t feel comfortable watching their daughter right now. They were surprisingly understanding as they wished you luck on restabilizing.
Your sleep had suffered the most. You were still able to eat; you weren’t afraid that someone would poison you. You were afraid, however, that if you fell asleep someone would come in. You were afraid that you were being watched. You were confident that it wasn’t actually the cartoon turtles. That’s just ridiculous, right? There’s no way the cartoon characters became sentient and actually wanted to be friends. If you were a cartoon character that gained sentience you’d probably want to murder whoever was watching you… That thought does not help your anxiety.
Either way, you were certain someone had to have hacked your Tv. Maybe it was just a prank? Some kids who were way smarter than they should be, who thought it would be funny to screw with a grown adult watching a cartoon. Someone who really wanted to put the fear of god into anyone who bought the disks you did. That was more reasonable.
All these thoughts plague you day in and out. The unknown really proving that it’s one of the things people most fear.
You felt like you were in a box. Your world becoming much smaller than it’s ever been while you hide inside your four walled apartment. You hid in there, but the feeling of being watched prevails. No taping up cameras or removing tech has cured your anxiety.
But, nothing’s happened. No weird phone calls, no more odd videos, and no evidence it was even real.
Despite your fear you began to doubt yourself. What if your therapist was right? You were just partially asleep… Your mind is playing tricks on you and you need to move on.
But, you can’t. It feels too real. It’s in your gut making you sick. Whatever happened, something is wrong.
You lay in your bed. Your back stretched against the blanket and you stare up at the ceiling. You trace the markings as you drown in your thoughts. The lights dimming slowly as the sun sets through your curtains. You’ll have to turn on the lights soon.
Every part of your being screams for rest. Your body exhausted from the damage your mind is doing. Your arms are raised over your head crossing at the wrist. You’re comfortable, but you can’t sleep. It’s too early, and even if it was late you wouldn’t be able to calm yourself enough.
One week, and you can still remember word for word what they said. You can remember how despite being drawings their eyes burned holes through your very beings. If you hadn’t been so aware of how nonsensical the thought is you’d think that the cartoons really could see you. That they really could hear you. That they really did want to hold a conversation.
Those thoughts make you feel a tad bit guilty. If they had been real you had not only immediately freaked out, but you also destroyed the only form of communication they had. The turtles said such kind words too. They seemed so excited and so loving. It was like they were talking to a loved one, someone they couldn’t wait to be with.
If you weren’t so paranoid you’d miss those comforting words. The way they seemed to actually care. The feeling of being a child. Someone to be protected and cared for…
The light in your room was almost gone. You braced yourself to get up. Ready to bring the unnatural brightness into your room.
Going to flick the switch you pause as you hear something break. A loud shattering filling the living room and bouncing on the apartment's walls. Panic floods your system and you freeze. You don’t even release a breath as you hear movement.
You knew it, whatever happened the other day was a precursor! You're doomed to die by the hands of a maniac! You should’ve been more careful. What if your niece is also a target?! You didn’t want to die, not yet!
“Be more careful.” You hear a voice hiss out.
“Well sorry,” Another voice answered. “How am I supposed to see when all the lights are off! Why are all the lights off!?” The other man whisper-yells.
You feel your lungs burn in your chest as adrenaline fills your body. You don’t dare to move yet. You have a better chance of running if they go into the spare room first.
You zoned back into their conversation hoping you can make a dash soon.
“She could’ve also heard you and now she’s terrified and hiding somewhere.” One of them says smoothly with annoyance.
“Whatever dude, let's just get our girl and go home.” You could practically hear the man's eyes roll.
As soon as you heard movement you hid behind the bedroom door, hoping they didn’t notice. The bed to the guest room couldn’t be seen from the door, but your bedroom’s bed could, so you prayed they’d check the other room first.
Someone was listening to you because they did. You heard them enter the other room and quickly ran slamming the guest door. The men shout on the other side as you bolt towards your entrance.
You get to your front door and unlock it. Sadly, you are too late because as soon as you open the door something grabs you and pulls you back. Something metal slams the door closed again. You scream as loud as you can. You get pulled against something and something green slams itself over your mouth. You wiggle and fight back but the grip on you is much too strong and only ends up making the person tighten.
“Will you stop it?” The voice questions from directly behind you. They sounded more worried and stressed than dangerous.
As much as you wanted to comply not to anger them, you refused to give in so quickly.
“Ok, ok. Maybe we do need it Donnie.” The voice says with defeat.
Are they still pretending to be the cartoo-
Your brain pauses and so does your body as the second comes into view.
Donatello. The actual Donatello stood in front of you. Syringe in hand and an indescribable look on his face. You couldn’t believe your eyes.
The dark was playing tricks on you! This wasn’t real! You're in danger and to calm yourself down your brain made them cartoons! Right?! Right?!
Your breathing picked up and tears rolled heavily down your cheeks. Your grip on the arm holding you tightened. You grabbed at it to ground yourself. None of this was real… None of this was real.
Your eyes met the purple clad turtles. He looked down at you as you turned your eyes away rapidly. This couldn’t be happening.
That’s the dumbest thought ever! You were NOT being kidnapped by The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
“Will you calm down yourself or do we need to sedate you?” Donatello asks you.
Your eyes snap back to his as you try to regulate your breathing. Wide eyes staring at unreadable ones.
The other hand moved from your lips but didn’t let go of your waist. With the new chance to see the other you turn as best as you can. You stare doe like as your eyes meet Leonardo’s.
“Look, there are those pretty eyes!” He exclaims happily, like he’s talking to a child.
You step back and he lets you. You take a few more only to run into the other turtle who lands his hands on your shoulders.
You look down and shake your head. “This isn’t real. This isn’t happening. Wake up,” You raised your hands and hit your face. “Wake up,” Hit. “Wake up,” Hit. “Wake up!”
Your panic is stopped by your hands being grabbed. The darker turtle holding them tightly. Leonardo looks at you with worry.
“I know this is all really scary for you, but I promise we’re not gonna hurt you okay?” He reassures you.
“It’s not real. It’s not.” You repeat shaking your head.
“It most certainly is.” Donatello replies. “I know it seems completely illogical, but all of this is very, very, that’s two verys, real.”
Swallowing thickly you raise your head up to look at the one in front of you.
“How- how is this happening?” You shake violently where you stand. “This shouldn’t be possible, it’s not, it’s not possible.” You cry out to them.
“How bout you leave how to us, huh?” The slider asks. “I know it’s all a lot to take in and you must be soo scared~” He seemed to coo at you. “But we’re gonna have so much fun together and you’re going to be so happy! Everything is going to be great!” He tells you happily.
You shake your head at him. “I don’t- I don’t want- I- please leave me alone.” You sob out.
Leonardo seems to panic at this and you feel Donatello move behind you.
Your panic drives them to calm you down the best way they know how. A prick piercing your skin as you cry. A few more moments and you watch as the world fades in and out only to go black.
You’re cries die in your throat as you drift off and are carried to your new home.

Tmnt 2012 Leonardo’s Knee injury ramble that became a ficlet
Ever since Leo’s awoken from his coma he’s been dealing with a issue. Now it’s not major enough for him to even think about burdening Donnie with.
His knee aches, a deep white hot pain that slowly drags its way up and down his leg. His knee fucking hurts. He can’t meditate the way he’s used to, the weight of his body is too much for his frazzled nerves
Sleeping with his knee wrapped is uncomfortable. He hates the way the makeshift brace of bandages leaves raw grooves across his knee. Waking up in more pain than he was the night prior, the skin under his ‘brace’ practically burning.
The usual stealth he’s been accustomed to his whole life— even before ninja training— his ability to practically glide across the floor, is gone. Overtaken by his Goddamn. Leg.
His leg creaks and groans with every step his takes, the popping of joints announcing his presence to a room before he even reaches the door. Its greatly frustrating when he’s trying to listen in on Raph and Donnie discussing His recovery and they can hear his ankle pop from behind the door. Or he turns to quick and hip pops.
He’s considered some nights when the pains too much, and the tears build too quickly. Just getting rid of his leg entirely. It wouldn’t hurt, at least not as bad as his leg hurts now— It would probably be a improvement! What good is a ninja who’s leg announces them to their enemies like their a cowboy entering a bar in a western film, foot stepping on that one floorboard to creak announcing them to the bar.
He can’t even sit comfortably!! Bending his knee at all causes teeth grinding pain. No more sitting on the heels of his feet. No more sitting cross legged on the couch bowl of popcorn resting between his leg. No more cozy nights huddled in a semi ball reading space hero’s fanfics on his phone.
He’s damned to a life of watching his brothers frantically clear a space from the coffee table because he wanted to sit with them— but his fucking leg needs to be straight and resting on something to Not hurt. He just wants to cry sometimes, why him why did it have to be him.
He has such a small amount of things that make him happy why did Shredder have to take the few things he had that were HIS and replace it with this fucking pain.
Let me know if I need to add any trigger/content warnings. I don’t think I do bc this is mainly just me pushing my chronic knees pain onto Leo. I feel like it would crush him to try to meditate in his usual form but it hurts to much to focus.

Before You Go - P.3 | Future Leonardo X Reader
Tumblr media
A/N: I am conflicted over using gender-neutral terms to replace “Mama,” because I haven’t found a single one that holds the same vibe as the initial. If there are any suggestions, let me know! Remember that constructive criticism is always appreciated.
Summary: You’re both adopting-parents of Casey. Leonardo returned from a patrol to find his family surrounding Casey, about to say his first words.
Reader: Gender-neutral pronouns are used, except the terms “Mama” and “mother-figure are used as well. Second POV.
Pairing: Rise! Future! Leonardo X Reader
Warning(s): Insecure of one’s parenting.
Word Count: ~1980
Parts: One / Two / Three / Four / Five / ...
~
“No way, is Casey saying his first words?” Michelangelo gasped. He was followed by his older brother, coming back from an area patrol together.
That question stopped Leo in his tracks. "H-Hold on, really?"
In front of him, April and his brothers surrounded you, while you sat 2-year-old Casey on your stronger arm. He glanced around curiously at the small crowd, but paid no mind as he played with your hair.
"Bwuah.. bah." Sounds bubbling from his mouth. You smiled. "I have a good feeling, Mikey."
Leo stared from afar.
..It had been so long since he felt this kind of warmth. All the smiles on his family’s faces were enough to give nostalgia.. back to when life was relatively.. normal.
"What'cha doing, standing over there!" April called out, waving her arm up. "This is a moment of a lifetime! Don't tell me you're backing out of being a parent." Donnie snickered from hearing her teases.
Leo shook his head. Then, he rolled his eyes. "Hey hey, c'mon, don't put me down like that, April. I'm not some deadbeat guy."
Being the Doctor Feelings he once proclaimed, Mikey held his hands to his chest. A bubbly smile grew. "Ohh! I’m getting it now: Lee’s having his inner, emotional, father-moment!"
And of course, a dark blush appeared on his face, embarrassed he was figured out so easily. Granted, he was talking about his own brother and Doctor Feelings. "Yeah yeah, whatever you say, little brother," he huffed. "Let's not tease me right now, guys. I just got back from a patrol with the others."
Leo strolled closer to you from behind, head leaning on your shoulder. "So.. what’s he’s saying?"
"Yet to find out." You slowly rocked your body back and forth.
“Y’know,” April wondered, “I’ve been thinking: aren’t kids supposed to start talking before they turn two?”
You and Leo felt yourselves freezing at the realization. Supposed to? But what about Casey? Did this imply that you two hadn’t done enough?
Fortunately, Donatello noticed your unease.
“Ahem,” he cleared his throat, “I mean, we are living in an underground base during an alien invasion. I doubt any of us would own time to cater to a human child full-time.” Donnie raised his “eyebrows” once, giving the message to April.
“Yeah yeah, that makes sense.”
"..Moving on...
Allow me to make a guess: he’ll begin by praising my name and intellect with, 'I love you Donatello Von Ryan and you're the greatest being this universe has to offer,'" Donnie claimed right from his heart and ego.
"God dang, Donnie, I swear," Raph murmured, "if this kid grows up to praise you like some sort of egotistical saint—."
"Scoffs! That could mean one thing for sure, Raphael: Casey will grow to be one of the most intelligent children, taught under by yours truly."
April put her hand on her hip. "Huh. Not gonna lie, I still can't believe Cassandra would name him after herself."
"Doesn't sound far from her, really," you chuckled. "In fact.. I'd be surprised if she managed to make a whole different one."
"Bah.. boo mah.."
"Ooh, ooh!" Mikey leaned his head closer to Casey. "He's going to say something!"
"Putting my bets on 'Mama!'" April raised her hand. Donnie, on the other hand, rolled his eyes and feigned, "Wow! That is so original. Yawn."
"Uh, excuse you." Leonardo looked offended. "Where's the amor for the father-figure?"
You deadpanned. “Since when have we established the ‘Mama’ label?”
"Ever since Leo kept calling himself ‘Papa,’” April chirped. “Sorry, Leo, being the mother-figure, (Name) comes before you."
"Hm. Raph’s gotta agree."
"Seriously? Even my own brother!?"
"No worries, Lee, I got you!" Mikey leeched onto him.
Donnie coughed. “Continuing to believe he’ll say my name.”
Your eye twitched. “Hey, don’t be disappointed if he says a whole ‘nother word, you guys.” The baby laughed, his giggles drawing the attention of everyone from their debate.
"Luh..," he blubbered, "ooo."
“...”
"Oh my gosh!" Mikey tightened his grip onto Leo. It was slowly making him struggle to breathe. "Did you hear—? Are you guys thinking—? I think he just said, 'Love youu!'"
"Sorry to break your bubble, but I'm pretty sure they're random syllables, Michael."
"Don't be so pessimistic! We should be happy! Casey’s finally said his first words to us, and they’re ones of love!" "Ew."
Mikey smacked Donnie.
"..Next word has gotta be 'Mama.'" April crossed her arms.
"Uh, I think you mean 'Papa.'"
You sweat-dropped. “I don’t think the debate’s necessary, guys.”
“Leave 'em,” Raph laughed, grabbing your attention. “This is probably one of the only times we’ll ever have our good moments together.” You smiled, watching Mikey and Donnie getting into a passive-aggressive argument themselves. “How’re you and Leo doing with the kid?” Raph asked, inching his giant finger closer to Casey, who proceeded to chew on it.
“The good thing is.. taking care of him is starting come naturally.. and Leo’s still taking my advice to get some rest before we switch roles.”
Raph found you delaying in your response.
“But. I’m guessing there’s one somewhere.”
“Agh.. It’s just.. Leo seems to be doubting himself again. I was hoping for a chance to talk to him, but maybe.. this time isn’t the right time to do so.”
The snapping turtle moved his hand to your shoulder. “No worries, (Name).” His thumb gently rubbing your nape. “Leave it to me this time.”
“..Okay.”
"Oooh, don't you dare start with me, Leo,” she warned. “It's 'Mama.'"
"'Papa.'"
"'Mama.' Guess you don’t love your lover enough."
“Woah woah, hey!” Leo gasped. Flabbergasted from how April spat that out out of nowhere. "Are you being a mis.. misogynist!?"
“‘Misandrist,’” Donnie corrected.
"'Mama.'"
"Mah-mah!"
“...”
Everyone’s eyes flickered over to Casey, face beaming in the dim cavern.
Out of the stunned group, metallic arms rose from Donnie’s battleshell and tore up a sheet of paper apart. You had no idea where did that come from. "Sigh. Of course, my dreams of raising a follower is demolished once again. Back to the drawing board with my robotic—."
"AWW, he said, ‘Mama!'" The box turtle leaped.
"Woo! Raph and I call for the air-conditioned room privileges!" April cheered, high-fiving the snapping turtle, who grinned. “We called it!”
“Mahmah!”
“Yes, Casey. It’s me.” An upward quirk of your lips and you snuggled your nose with his. “Mama is here.” The toddler squealed.
It was this moment that none of you failed to see how Leo’s so-called smile falter. A distant look in his eyes as he came to lower his gaze.
Raph nodded towards you and April. The both of you returned it, heading into one of the tunnels in silence.
That left the brothers.
It wasn’t until Leo finally tilted his head up that he registered the quietness and lack of your presence. He groaned. “Guys, c’mon. I know what you’re doing, and I don’t need another talk right now.”
“Leo,” Mikey reassured. “It’s okay to talk about your feelings with us, y’know. We’re your brothers! Your family! And family supports each other.”
“Besides,” Donnie crossed his arms, leaving one of his metallic arms to comfort his brother’s back, “it’s about time you quit ruining the mood whenever Casey is brought up.”
Raph hummed. “You’re thinkin’ too much on it, Leo. You know whatever the kid says don’t make you any less of a parent.”
Leo huffed. “I know, I know.”
“Uh huh.” Donnie scoffed. “If you really know that that’s the case, then what’s the actual problem?”
“Nothing.”
“We know it’s not ‘nothing.’”
“...”
“Okay, we can do this then.” Mikey held his brother’s shoulders. The Doctor Feelings side revealing. “I’ll ask the questions you answer by nodding ‘yes’ or ‘no.’
Is it about Casey?” Leo nodded ‘yes.’
“Okay.. Is it about his first words?” He shook his head ‘no.’
Mikey held his chin, pondering. “Is there a specific issue?” Once again, Leo shook his head. The box turtle figured it must be a general conflict. You told him not long ago that his brother was being reserved as of late. You often confided in him your troubles.
“Is this also about (Name)?”
He nodded.
“Is this also about the Kraang?”
..He nodded. This time, Leo proceeded to respond. “Nothing’s the same ever since they invaded.”
“Of course—.” Raph eyed Donnie.
“We could’ve had a normal life. We all could’ve gone for ice cream, jumping to a pool, see snow again.. But look what came to us instead.” A bitter tone. “This isn’t the life I wanted for all of us. This isn’t the life that Casey and (Name) deserves. I-I can’t accept it.
It doesn’t help to think back on their and Cassandra’s words.”
“What do you mean?”
Leo narrowed his eyes. “Cassandra told me (Name) wanted a kid. (Name) told me they couldn’t risk taking care of one in this fucked up place.”
“And they have Casey—.”
“But I know they’d be happier if things were different.”
“Oh? You mean if (Name) doesn’t have fertility issues?”
All eyes on Donnie. “..Huh?”
“Hey!” Mikey exclaimed. “How’d you know that? I thought I’m the one with secrets.”
“Well, Michael, being forced to stick down here and manage weaponry and defenses means keeping track of everyone’s biological systems.”
“..You.. kept trackers on us?”
“Correction: in you. Do I have to remind you that I’m the reason you all managed to survive this long?”
“Ah..” Raph was stunned. “Ah, uh, moving on..
Yeah, we would be happier if we didn’t have the Kraang up on our asses. But even then, this is our reality now.
We can’t go back.
And sometimes, your best option is to deal with it and make the most out of what you have. You got that?”
Leo’s breath hitched. He glanced upon reassuring smiles on his brothers’ faces (much less of a smile on Donnie’s, but the aura was there).
“You may be the leader, Leo, but I’m still your older brother,” Raph spoke softly.
A sigh left the red-eared turtle, and he pulled them all into a tight embrace. “Thanks hermanos.”
.
.
.
"Lee-oh," you pronounced slowly, leaning close to Casey. You hadn’t noticed your leader in blue lingering next to the cavern entrance. You always managed to forget that Donnie built an entire underground system for water and air. Yet, your resources weren’t enough to make decent rooms.
The baby blinked and giggled. "Eeee.."
You wiggled his arms. "Lee-oh."
"Ohh.."
Leo couldn't hold back the wide grin on his face. His heart melted. “I always knew you love me, (Name)," he spoke up.
"God, Leo! You scared me!” you cursed, holding Casey back in the comfort of your arms. "..How are you feeling?”
“Comforted.. thanks to my brothers.”
Once he walked closer to your side, you leaned up to kiss him. “For you to know you’re making a great father-figure. And that you have nothing to worry for about me or Casey.”
Leo blinked and blinked.
Then, being shy, he hid his growing blush behind his blue scarf.
It was one you made for his birthday five years ago from a ball of yarn that Todd found, rummaging through wrecked shops. Even after that much time, Leo still became flustered around you.
“Bah.. lo...”
His left arm wrapped around your waist. “I’m glad to have you here, (Name).” You leaned into his plastron. “The same goes for you, Leo.”
“Ee.. oh.”
“Mhm—. Hold on.” The red-eared turtle sat upright. “Did he—?”
“Ee.. oh!” Casey sounded. Lacked a consonant, but the idea was there.
You chuckled, seeing your boyfriend’s wide-eyed reaction. “He said my name!” he cheered, pulling the toddler from your arms to hold him up. “Leo,” he said.
“Ee-oh!”
“If you were worried about him not saying ‘Papa,’ I’m sure it’s only because April kept repeating ‘Mama’ back there,” you concluded. “Not sure if I’m completely comfortable with the whole label thing.”
“Being called ‘Mama?’”
“Hm.. If I ever feel like changing that up, I can wait until Casey’s a bit older to comprehend better.”
“Ohoho~.” Leo grinned, bringing the baby closer. “Say, ‘Papa.’”
“Ah..”
“‘Papa.’“
“Pa.. wah...”
“‘Papa.’”
“Papah!”

Tmnt Owl house AU something something (mostly based on 2012)
For things to make sense some mutants ain't mutants, they're witches and not demons until i say so. Well except one of em, one of em is human.
Shredder is Belos and Splinter is Caleb but instead of Shredder killing Splinter for falling in love with a witch and wanting to stay in the demon realm he kills him because he's also in love with the same witch, which is Shen taking the place of Evelyn.
With a lot of consideration, i was really debating on whether or not to make Karai take Hunter's place but i found a perfect place for her. She's Eda the Owl Lady... Or more like Karai the snake lady. She's still connected to Shen and Splinter in a way. She's a wild witch and the self proclaimed strongest witch in the boiling isles. She's cursed by the Snake Beast, which is why i made her Eda since she can shift between two forms in the show.
Chompy in this is taking King's place and you guessed it, the boiling isles is Tokka, Chompy's mama. He's still pretty much a turtle.
They have their own version of hooty which is hissy lol very creative.
Venus is gonna be Lilith in this. Even though she doesn't exist in 2012 i want to use her cuz why not. Her attitude is basically the same as lilith in a sense.
Oh and Shini is Raine.
I was debating really hard on who gets to be Luz and I was thinking of Leo and Mikey, but for this I chose Leo. He seems the type. Mikey has a lot of imagination for sure, but Leo is the same obsessed as Luz is.
He's just a normal japanese kid that's just a bit too weird and obsessed with his fantasies. Not in the same level as Luz is though, more in the lines of not being able to socialize properly because people think he's weird for it. He's fine with that until he was sent to reality check summer camp in order to make friends. I don't know who can be his parent though, I was thinking it would still be Splinter, he's just a descendant of the Saki brothers that coincidentally takes the name Hamato (which is Karai's surname).
Leo appeared in the boiling isles after he watched Miwa, Karai's snake palisman drag his book away and decided to stay to learn magic like he only ever dreamed of. He's as enthusiastic as Luz is but is a bit hesistant in getting into trouble until him and his new friends from hexsude accidentally animated the house. He's still pretty much a worrier and took it upon himself to help out as much as possible.
Karai won't admit it but she's getting soft on the kid.
I have been thinking hard on it but i was able to figure a few things out.
Donnie takes Amity's place, and obviously there's no shipping. I would've put April here but honestly she doesn't really fit. He is adopted. His dad is Dr. Rockwell and Donnie took his name last name. Donnie's still in the Abomination track like Amity but he wants to learn more about other tracks so he learns in secret. I was also thinking Odalia can be replaced by Falco because... Ya know what happened between him and Falco.
Anyways.
Donnie's personality starts off as cold and a bit too obsess when it comes to being at the top, but his true personality shows through qith his interests in human technology, which he wishes to indulge with since he was younger. Leo befriends him and he slowly gets back to the Donnie we all know and love. Karai even gives their human junk for him to tinker if he wants to. He pretty much uses his abomination goo to form a staff instead of monsters from time to time and he's damn well good with it until he gets his palisman, which is a spiny soft shell turtle.
Then we have Mikey, who's split between being Gus and being Willow. He's definitely Gus most of the time. In here he's Donnie's childhood friend but they had a falling out due to Falco's meddling. He's just as obsessed in humans as Donnie, but more obsessed with the mundane side like their shows and comics. We deviate from the show because he's in the potions track and he's damn well good in it as well. He started in the Abominations track to follow Donnie but in the end he transfers tracks after realizing that chasing Donnie was not worth it now that he had a friend in Leo. Donnie and Mikey will get along eventually. He may not be all thay useful in a fight but he uses potions in small easy to shatter vials that work like Leo's glyphs if thrown hard enough. His palisman is a ornate box turtle.
Leatherhead adopted Mikey as well!!
Another person that's split between being Willow and Gus is our queen Mona Lisa. I really want Raph to give her that nickname but it has to be Leo and she's happy to be given a human nickname. She's part of the Plant Coven and is pretty darn powerful in it. She's a year older than Mikey and Donnie, around April and Casey's age and is like a big sister figure to Mikey ever since him and Donnie's little spat. Everything goes well in the end when the two get along. Her palisman is a blue and black spotted salamander.
The emerald entrails still happen, with April and Casey taking place of Skara and Viney in the team along with Mona and Mikey.
And oh boy here we are.
Raph.
The Golden Guard... Or the Crimson Guard.
A grimwalker of Splinter, Shredder's brother, he's the youngest Crimson Guard ever and the most like him, except for the bright green eyes. He's basically overconfident and cocky under that red mask of his, he's the symbol of fear for the Emperor, a soldier meant to enforce the Titan's will. A strong figure that proves that wild witches' days of running free are numbered.
But under all that is a bad but mad boy who is angry at the world because the Emperor told him to. Under all that is a child with bright eyes and the love for nature. An absolute dork that talked to birds that passed by his room, a kid obsessed with the idea of freedom, of wild magic he know he can't wield. And look! A palisman chose him! An alligator snapping turtle that was oh so protective. But because he's so much like him the Emperor placed higher standards on his shoulders. So he needs to be mad, he needs to be angry, for the Titan's will, to make his Uncle proud, and to insure a future where it stops hurting.
He's going to realize that his future doesn't belong with a fraud.
It belongs with Leo's gentle comfort, Mikey's laughter, and Donnie's endless ramblings.
If it weren't for the fact that he's a clone of a dead man, or that Mikey and Donnie don't know who their real parents are, or the fact that Leo was human, he swears that maybe in another life they're brothers.
And as his whole worldview crashes down reveal after reveal...
Leo says that they're brothers and that's when Raph knew he's done being someone's puppet.

First Encounters (Feral! Raph)
Still working on what exactly to call this au (?) so I'm going to just refer to them as the feral boys for now- Anyway here is a little drabble of how I imagine meeting Raph would go down -------------------------- - Raph is the wariest of humans out of the brothers, so finding him on his own is a difficult feat. Despite his size, he is the most cautious about clearing up any tracks that may lead them to him and his brothers. Any close encounters that no doubt may happen despite him being careful, his appearance alone is enough to send those humans running with their imaginary tails tucked behind their legs. Rarely has he had to actually use any force or violence, but he won't hesitate to if the situation calls for it. He is the most durable after all, he can take the hits. - So, imagine his displeasure when a little human had stumbled a little too close to their home than he would have liked. Humans don't usually go this far into the woods, and especially not by themselves like you had. Were you perhaps lost? Separated from a group and trying to find them? He's seen the case before with many creatures, and he had helped each one- or.. tried. An eight foot mutant alligator snapping turtle does not give the friendliest first impressions towards the already frightened and confused fawns he's found wobbling about from time to time. But that's okay! It only takes a little bit of waiting and shadowing the creature for it to stop running from him. Then he can help them find their way back to their family. - But humans were tough. They are loud and attack often without hesitation, they blabber and carry things that spit fire and hurt. He knew that because one grazed his tail when Donnie managed to snag one of the sticks and set it off, leaving a decently sized gash like scar carved into his tail- the usual hardened scales and spikes replaced instead with softer and tender flesh as a scar. Donnie immediately threw the stick into the river after that incident and hasn't made any moves to steal anything that looked to be similar as the fire stick. Humans were dangerous. They made dangerous things. - With that being said, this human had to go. And Raph had no issues being the one to do it. He was the only one that should. Sneaking up on the human was easy enough, this one was not very attentive it seemed. It carried some sort of.. odd looking leaf pile in it's hands, bound by something that looked like bark from a distance. No, bark wasn't flexible like that. It was like the colorful leaf piles that Leo brought home from time to time that displayed pictures. Whatever it was, the human seemed more focused on it then it's surroundings. And just like it's attention to it's surroundings, it didn't seem to have a goal destination. Wandering in circles, not sure whether they should go left or right, pointing out certain plants and coloring in it's leaf pile with a thin yellow twig. After a bit of following the human from a distance, Raph started to think that the human would eventually wander it's own way out of the brother's land. But then it paused at the pond, where Leo and Donnie liked to swim and catch frogs. - Raph began to panic slightly, worried that the twins were there right now- that that was why the human suddenly stopped. But a quick scan of the waters showed that they weren't there, and if they were they were too deep for the human to possibly see them. He just hoped they'd stay down long enough for him to startle the human away from the area. With it's back turned towards him and once more furiously scribbling on their thick leaf pile, Raph took this opportunity to come closer. Slowly, he stepped out of the brush- intentionally stepping on a fallen branch for its loud snarling snap as it gave way to his weight. It seemed to do the trick, as the human flinched and whirled around to meet his glare. Now here came the part he dreaded the most..

Hello! Can I request headcanons of Leo from 2012 tmnt meeting a mutated gecko reader and it being the first time either has seen another mutant? (Like early season one)
Aaahhh finally a request for my boy!! Leo is by far my favorite out of the four, though Donnie is also very dear to my heart, especially the 2012 boys. Let's just say they've gotten me through some very rough times.
Forgive me if this one isn't very long, I recently had my baby boy Noodle, my leopard gecko passed away a day before my birthday back in November. So Y/n will be a leopard gecko, sorry if you wanted a different kind, I've only had a leopard😅
Anyway, on to the story dear friends!! Gender wasn't specified so Y/n is gender neutral. Now you can read on!!
Tumblr media
. First of all, neither of you have seen another mutant before, so you can kinda imagine how this would play out with the new leader in blue.
. Despite what you may think, Leo was more curious about you than cautious. He had no idea there were any other mutants in New York other than himself and his brothers.
. You on the other hand were very cautious, having just mutated recently. Tail raised and swaying side to side gently, making it clear how scared you were.
. Unfortunately Leo didn't know that, taking a step toward you, only to get a small warning scream from you, causing the turtle to jump back.
. You two were frozen in a staring contest before Donnie said something to Leo, mentioning what it means when your tail sways side to side like it's currently doing only then did Leo relax.
. Leo raised his hands slowly, giving you a kind smile.
"It's okay, you don't have to be scared of me- I mean us. My name's Leonardo, but you can call me Leo."
"What's your name?"
. The question seemed to have caught you off guard, causing all your movement to halt, like you just remembered something. What the boys didn't know is that when you had mutated, the shock and pain had temporarily put you into survival mode, and with the new Leopard Gecko DNA, your mind had become like the said animal's.
. Looking down at your hands, you stared at the skin that had replaced your human skin.
"My name is Y/n..."
. You had muttered that so quietly, you were sure this, Leo person didn't hear you but he did.
. Leo smiled warmly, walking towards you slowly, you watching his every move nervously. When he was in front of you, he extended his hand, to which you hesitantly took, shaking the leader's hand.
"It's nice to meet you Y/n."
. You could tell that this was the beginning of something amazing as Leo smiled at you while his brothers waved at you, their own smiles present on their faces, except for Raph, who only gave you a quick nod.
______________________________________
Hope you enjoyed this!! Sorry it took me so long to do your request whoever you are.
Don't forget to request if you have anything else in mind. That's all for now, good bye for now friends!!

Something I've been working on and off on because I wanted to draw something soft, and this is a result of that.
Wasn't till I was almost done that I realized some coooould mistake it as suggestive but, eh, I can't control people's minds, just know their adults here. Also another little writing bit here under the cut! ———————————– My Commissions | .Carrd
Astra ran her hands gently over every crevice and nook, her fingers and claws gently feeling out every groove as gently as she could, knowing how sensitive turtle shells were and how sensitive his likely was now, with each scar that had been dug into it like trenches.
She could feel him trembling irrationally under her touch, likely a trauma response to what he'd endured that he'd yet to get under control from the inciting incidents.
Two sets of scars, one set a few months older than the other, the elder set having already turned green and starting to blend in as new scales and skin had been slowly replacing what had been removed with each shedding.
The newer set, still pink, but slowly now where also fading to green as the new scales started to finely harden. She could tell these ones ran deeper, thus why they took much longer to heal and start to fade...
They clearly still caused him pain in some capacity. Mainly in a mental sense, physically? She wasn't sure, but all the same.. she wanted nothing more than to make the pain stop and let him know it was okay, she wasn't going to hurt him.
Gently, and without thinking, she gently moved her hand over his smaller spinal spines, and leaned in, planting a soft kiss on one of the larger spiraling scars, which cause Donatello to flinch in surprise.
He had NOT expected that, not at all! Let alone the feeling of it! It made his whole face light up red under his mask as he looked down at the floor.
Well, THAT made the trembling stop, that and likely make the rest of his brain preform its best reenactment of the "Blue screen of death".
"You okay?" Astra asked softly as she noticed his flinch at what she'd done, hoping she had not crossed a line.
"Y-Yep! Perfectly fine, he said not totally embarrassed at all! M-Merely just unexpected, that is all!" Donnie chuckled nervously, which earned a pout and a raised brow from Astra.
Donnie then cleared his throat, realizing that yes, even as an adult, he still sucked at lying.
"You're fine, it's fine, quite honestly, I... Did not dislike it, merely just... The thought nor action had ever crossed my mind before, thus I had not mentally prepared for such an outcome." Donnie corrected as he cleared his throat, and glanced to the side, a soft smile growing on his face.
"So, what you're saying is." Astra smiled. "Is I caught the hopeless romantic off guard?" She'd ask with an impish grin and snicker.

Fluff Prompt: Little Raph teaching Little Leo or Donnie how to play basket ball or skateboard and just failing at it so bad but trying really hard to be the cool and smart big bro anyway
This was such a fun prompt, thanks. Here you go with a little cameo at the end
******
"OK… so… and then you have to… Uhm, just like- ACK!"
"Raphie! Are you okay?"
Little Mikey kneels down next to his big brother, who is rubbing his backside and valiantly keeping the tears at bay. Stupid skateboard rolled right out from under him. Again.
"I'm okay." Raph sniffles and slowly gets back to his feet. Leo had run after the escapee skateboard and is now holding it out to Raph.
"Maybe we should ask dad to show us how it works?"
"No." Dad has some Sad Days right now. Raph would rather not bother him with this. But he also doesn't want to wait for the Good Days. They had all been so excited to find the skateboard in the trash. Only one of its tires had been messed up and Donnie had been able to fashion a replacement out of an office chair. They have seen a lot of skateboarders on TV and Raph had thought that that was enough to teach himself and then his brothers. But it's so much harder than it looks on TV.
Leo hugs himself and looks towards Donnie who is much more interested in the mechanics of the jungle gym right now. Their genius brother had been the most reluctant to try the board, but Raph had seen the joy on his face when he'd rolled a few feet. Too bad he'd fallen off right after and now refuses to get back on again. Which has made Leo wary to try in turn, because he often takes his cue from his twin. Raph is sure that, if he can show them how it works and that there is nothing to be afraid of, they will try again.
If only he could stop falling off.
Mikey points towards the sky, which has lightened considerably since they started practicing. "The stars go away."
Raph rubs his little head. "Good job keeping watch, Mikey. Let's go home for today, before the sun comes up." They are all bundled up, only their faces visible, and the skatepark will probably remain empty for a long time yet, but Raph doesn't want to risk anyone seeing them. If their dad knew they were out here he would kill them.
Leo runs to get Donnie and Raph tucks the board under one arm so he can take Mikey's hand. They go home, but Raph just can't stop thinking about the board pressed to his side and Donnie's grin when he'd rolled those precious few feet.
Donnie can so very rarely be pulled away from his little projects and books but that smile had been real and true. Skateboarding could have been something they all could have enjoyed together for once.
Raph wants nothing more than to give this to his brothers.
Which is why he, against his better judgment, comes back to the skatepark after he puts his brothers to bed. The sun is already rising and he'll probably only have another half an hour before it gets way too dangerous to be out here, but he wants to master this stupid skateboard. How hard could it be?
Very hard apparently. He can't even count how many times he's fallen in the last five minutes.
Maybe it's hopeless. Maybe he's hopeless.
After a particularly nasty fall a voice calls out.
"Hey kid. You need to keep your knees bent when you push off."
Raph jumps to his feet. There is a man standing a few feet away, a skateboard covered in stickers losely held in his hands. He is wearing a cap, pulled deep into his face. Even though he is smiling and sounds nice enough Raph feels terror seize his heart. Dad has always told him that no humans can ever see them. Humans are dangerous. Humans hurt the things they don't understand.
He takes a few steps back, but he is shaking and he is scared that if he runs the man will follow him and then he will find his brothers too and then he might hurt them and then and then and then
The man must have seen the fear in his face, because he puts the board down and raises his hands in the universal 'I mean no harm' pose. "Hey hey hey. Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you."
Raph can see the guy do a double take when he gets a good look at his face and blurts out the first thing he can think of "It's a skin condition!"
The man blinks a few times and then smirks a little sheepishly, as if embarrassed to have been caught staring. "Ah. Okay. Sorry again." Under his breath he mutters something that sounds like 'This is New York. Not the strangest thing I've seen'. He then slowly rolls closer on his board. Even though Raph is still a bit scared and very watchful, he can't help but notice how smooth the guy's movements are. "Really didn't mean to scare you. I've just seen you fall and thought you might like some pointers."
Raph knows he should decline and get out of there. Stranger danger is a thing, he knows that. But something about the man makes him feel like he can trust him.
He keeps his distance though and the man notices and doesn't come closer.
"Pointers?"
"Yeah. You gotta keep your knees bent a little when you push off. Like this." He demonstrates and after a brief internal struggle, Raph copies him, always keeping one eye on the human. He immediately notices that it is a lot easier with bent knees. He's still wobbly, but he doesn't fall off.
"Wow!"
"There you go."
He gives Raph some more pointers about balance and how a board acts in certain situations. The entire time he keeps his distance and doesn't try to come closer than Raph is comfortable with. Raph is more and more convinced that this is a good guy. But then they start to hear voices coming their way from the entrance of the park and the turtle knows that he really needs to go now. He's already taken way too many risks today, even if they really paid off. Raph swears to himself to never tell anyone about this. He doesn't want his dad to punish him for his recklessness or his brothers to think that it's okay to talk to strangers.
"I need to go. Thanks again, Mister."
"No problem, little guy."
Raph starts to run home. He can't wait to show his brothers what he has learned. But then he turns around one last time, because there has been something on his mind this whole time.
"Mister. You look a lot like Tony Hawk. Has anyone ever told you?"
The man laughs, loud and long. Raph is a little confused about what is so funny about his question, but the voices are coming closer still and so he leaves before he can hear the answer of the middle aged skateboarder he leaves behind.
"Once or twice, kid. Once or twice."

29/36. @tmnt-event-blog
Quality time and acts of service are considered love languages, right?
Tumblr media
There was nothing Donnie hated more than feeling unneeded. It was even worse when he felt like he needed help with something he shouldn't need help with.
Mikey willingly coming into the lab to make himself busy didn't count; the box turtle being there was more akin to having a willing lab assistant than needing an aide, but the brain fog made things hard to remember. He found himself missing details, forgetting and skipping steps, unable to focus on code. He had a whole laundry list of unfinished steps, easily thrown off schedule like a common man. The greatest and strongest part of Donnie felt like it was slowly being taken away from him, and as much as he didn't want to admit it, he had to face the facts and understand that that might be the case.
So where did that take him?
"You look like shit."
"If you're here to interrogate me, go back to bed." Donnie squinted at the mess of code he had to read through. The lines were beginning to blur together. He had forgotten where he put his old glasses.
"Kicking me out already? I barely said five words." Leo threw himself onto a rolling chair, wheeling himself toward the softshell. The back of his chair bumped into the other's with a gentle jolt. Donnie turned around, scowl on his face.
"What do you want, Nardo?"
"Can't a brother look out for his younger twin?"
Donnie froze up at that, extending his arm. Leo chuckled, extending the other. Rock, paper, scissors. Leo's paper beat Donnie's rock, and the softshell could only relent to the statement.
"What are you planning?"
"You can't sleep, I can't sleep, so I'm better off making myself useful here."
"Right... I've never seen you in my lab, even to steal something," Donnie drawled, stifling a yawn, "What makes you think I'd trust you around experimental tech?"
Leo raised his arm. The prosthetic one. He crossed his arms afterward, "You taught me how to repair this for emergencies, which I have had to do before. Come on, Dee, trust Leon on this~!"
"I remember that six out of seven of said emergencies, I was also there to berate you on your shoddy craftsmanship."
"Yah, but there was also the one time you weren't there and the arm turned out just fine!"
Had him there.
"And if I were you, I'd have built this thing to not need as many emergency repairs as it does now."
Donnie rolled his eyes in response, turning back around before sliding a motherboard over to Leo.
"The wires are burnt out. Use the wire box on the top left shelf and find the thickest one. Because you already know how to replace those wires, I won't need to redemonstrate."
"Oof, giving me the easy jobs now?"
"Just be glad you're even allowed to touch that highly volatile component."
Donnie nearly missed the amused chortle Leo made, but it was a weight off his shoulders. The rest of the night followed the same structure: Leo finished a simple task and Donnie gave him another. The slider was still his signature flavour of annoying, but it never completely got on his nerves... It was even helpful at times, having another head to remind Donnie of a certain task in an irritating but strangely non-condescending manner.
At some point, the softshell did doze off on the desk he worked on, but Leo was there. He woke up the next day in bed with more mentally-listed tasks completed than forgotten.

I think Donnie's fic in DDMG may need to be split into two.
Under a readmore cause this got longer than expected.
The original idea was DDMG's version of the EPF and Bishop show up and the family have to deal with that, whilst also dealing with Mr Silver now knowing about Splinter. The idea I've got for how the EPF stuff got resolved involves Tseng, and I think it'd be fun to have April teaming up with Raph and Donnie to mess with the EPF.
Which would mean in one fic:
Mr Silver finds out about Splinter
Mr Silver decides it's okay this demon ghost thing wants to raise four of the kids Mr Silver is looking after
April meeting Splinter, which involves her also meeting the Forest Deer
Bishop and the EPF's investigation into the NYC Ratman
Tseng may meeting Splinter
Develop Donnie and Splinter's relationship
And, like, that's a lot for one fic, or at least it is for me. I think doing things that way would mean that the fic wouldn't have any time to focus on Donnie, cause a million other things will be happening at the same time.
So my new plan is to split that fic in two so it'll be
Donnie's fic
Develop Donnie's relationship with Splinter. Donnie is used to people leaving, and by the time this fic happens it's been long enough for him to be like "Any day now, sensei is going to leave" and then panic when he realises he doesn't want Splitner to leave.
Mr Silver finds out about Splinter after spending the previous fic, Infestation (working title, haven't come up with a better title yet but I needed something to call it in the meantime), getting more and more concerned because he knows something is going off with the Turtles.
And then as Mr Silver is coming around to the idea of Splinter adopting the boys, even if unofficially because how does a ghost adopt four living kids, Donnie slowly realises that Splinter is here to stay. It also occurs to Donnie that even though Splinter will never be his dad, because Donnie had a dad who loved him and can't be replaced, Splinter is his father.
April meeting Splinter will happen in a short fic set after this one. That way she can be in Donnie's fic, but not be a major player until later, which means the fic can give Donnie the attention he needs and I can take my time developing April.
The EPF fic
The EPF arrive to investigate the Ratman. Will need to take place several years later that Donnie's fic. During The Pied Piper of New York, Donnie is nine, so he'll be ten during his fic. In the EPF fic, I think he'll be closer to twelve.
Thinking that Splinter breaks his leg in this fic and that, along with his memory problems getting worse, is why the EPF investigation is such a problem.
Tseng and Venus will be introduced before this one, atm I'm thinking of introducing them in a Halloween fic.
Socorro, Casey, and Robyn will be introduced before the fic as well, but this might be a fun one to have Socorro join the cast as something more than just Casey's grandma. Which considering Kirkby will already know Splinter by this point, may end up making this the fic where the parents group actually becomes a thing.
Socorro and Tseng both being here also means I get to have them argue about how the hell a ghost can break a leg considering they're just made of ecto.
