okay so i got tagged by @sibillascribbles08 to share with people things about ocs

You and hopefully one of your OCs have been tagged! Your job is to make a post about them, and it can be whatever you want! Talk about general information, their backstory, their design inspiration, post some sketches or older art, write up a few fun facts, as long as it's something!

So i was tagged to talk about Wong Xiuying

so With Xiuying there are a bunch of things i'm going back and forth with. On one level i know for certain that she was the only one in the family that would let her little brother be as weird as he damn well pleased (bc his parents were those 'Autism can be fixed' types) But how FAR that goes can vary by the day, going from the kosher 'she'd regularly beat up his bullies for him' all the way to 'maybe murdered their abusive mother when she was a teenager after one too many times of tying her brother's wrist down to his side so he couldn't stim' and i'm never sure how far to go with it

but basically when her brother comes home full spider-mutant and unwilling to actually leave the people that did this to him she's getting desensitized to all of this punchclock supervillain stuff QUICK.

she doesn't PARTICIPATE, but she will patch all these idiots up after foiled evil schemes. (though she WILL be rougher with his 'work friends' cuz just because she's accepting that he's decided to stick with them doesn't mean she's forgiven any of them for what they did to her brother)

Hair Color: Ink black || It’s always been monstrous and mane-like, full of curls and coils and nebulous when not wrapped in that messy braid. It also acts like hackles and ‘ridges’ or fluffs up more in displays of intense emotion

Family Members: Her parents are presumed dead after being Stolen from their block in Dresden in ‘88. But she was adopted by an ex-Spetsnaz commander -Boris- who after his accident she calls ‘Papa’. She also considers her other Guide brethren as siblings; Raven, Hare, Fawn, Hope, Faith, Mutt, Adder, Eagle, and the unofficial Fox.

Pets: Not really pets in the same view as most people, Wulf grew up with fringeanimals. Fringeanimals sort of adopt their own families and accept the treatment of being a ‘pet’, though they are incredibly intelligent and capable of rationalizing consequence and even languages. So far, she shares her space with a fringehound that looks like your stereotypical German Shepherd Dog, named Jaeger. Jaeger can fool anyone not used to him into thinking he’s a normal dog, but he does have a tendency to join conversations, and understands no less than three languages.

Hobbies/Activities: Reading, Bartending, Singing, Writing [field notes mostly but it still counts, along with basic illustrations]

Ever Hurt Anyone Before: Of course. Most of the time, in self-defense and never in any true malice, though she has hurt people to defend her family

Ever Killed Anyone Before: Directly, and indirectly. Dependent on where and how.

Worst Habits:Outside the obvious smoking and borderline alcoholism, she also chews on her lip or nails when nervous. Has a nervous tic that is tapping the toe of her boot on the ground to make a small clicking noise. Her penchant for Dramatics can be a plus or a negative, depending on situation. Secretly self-depreciating, but she’d never let it break out. The Wolf is proud, The Wolf is strong, she is an anchor, you know not the darker waters.

Role Models: Papa Boris, hands down. He didn’t have to take her in, could have left her to her pack of Orphans, but he did. Despite not having children of his own, he still did his weather best to raise her to be a decent member of society, or as decent as he was, which is subjective to who you’re asking. Surprisingly, The Mutt -a fellow Guide- also falls into this category. Mutt became a Guide after assaulting the dangerous Vogelweide anomaly when it went to devour his hamlet’s Oma. His selfless sacrifice to protect something he felt innocent makes her proud to call him brother, as well as gives her something to strive for in her own Guidehood.

Sexual Orientation: Demisexual, but panromantic. She must have a strong emotional connection to feel any sexual attraction, but if she Likes you, the romatics are strong with this one. Romantic relationships are verse-dependent.

Thoughts on Marriage/Kids: She jokes about disappearing into her Zone one day, marrying a nice Zoner, and having a litter of puppies. She’s not against the idea of marriage or kids, but that’s a big step with stalkers. Stalkers produce mutated children, it’s a common fact, and while she would be the loyalest and most loving of mothers, she’s so terrified of such prospects scaring away partners and being left the only parent of a potentially-mutated child she doesn’t put it as a tier in any potential romantic relationship. She is not against the thought, no, but she is of the very firm belief that she is incapable of being truly loved on a romantic level by anyone who knows and understands the risks of a stalker partner and so distances herself from it outside jokes.

Someone They Love: Those she considers family. Papa, Jaeger, and the other Guides. And of course, the looming mother that is her native Zone.

Approach to Friendship: Cautious, wary, paranoid. In the world and political cesspool that is fictional Germany, people trying to be your friend immediately are probably state agents. She considers people on a ‘friend’ level after they prove themselves actually worthy of being called such. Actions, not words, and all that.

Favourite Drink: Black acidic coffee; so black, it’s practically tar, the kind that burns the hair on your head with a sniff, so much as a taste. || Flavoured bourbons, local beer brews, and when she’s feeling very depressed, cheap turpentine whiskey.

Favourite Place to Spend Time At: Anywhere where she feels familiar energy. Crossroads, outside her Zone. And Central, inside her Zone. Both have an energy and dynamic from the people she surrounds herself with regularly, and it feels comfortable to be there.

Swim in the Lake or the Ocean: Neither, but if she had to choose, a lake. Both are vast unknowns, but any lake she is swimming in is probably an extension of Schwarzwald, and therefore it is something she knows and is more willing to surrender to.

Their Type: Someone she has an easy chemistry with, as in, their dynamic is not forced. Someone who is not afraid to be affectionate with her, who is not afraid of her being affectionate with them. Someone who is loyal, someone who will listen when she needs them to. Someone who can fit into the family dynamic she is so intrinsically tied into, because in the fight of them versus her family, she will always choose the latter.

Camping or Indoors: Camping, in forested areas. She loses the sound of Schwarzwald while indoors while outside of it, and it causes everything from insomnia to loss of appetite. But her site must be roofed, or have a sort of canopy; open spaces and skies make her very nervous.

For those that aren't in Australia right now, we have the funniest scandal going on.

Firstly let us introduce you to the eye of the storm: Sam Kerr. Sam is a women's soccer player who has in the last year become one of the most famous and beloved athletes in Australia. Captain of the women's national team, Sam became something of a cult figure after the last Women's Soccer World Cup became a complete unpredicted sensation in Australia, with the whole country getting behind the team.

Sam, up until now, has had probably one of the most squeaky clean images in sport. Generally in Australia it is not uncommon for our sports stars to be caught up in scandals involving drugs:

or if you're cricket legend Shane Warne, probably all three at once.

Contrasting all this, Sam's image as the squeaky clean saviour for sport made it all the more shocking this last week, when it was announced that Kerr was to face trial after having been charged by the UK police of a "racially aggravated offence" involving a taxi driver.

This was shocking news. Nobody knew what to make of it. Sam was a model for young girls everywhere and a national treasure. "This is why we can't have nice things" screamed the nation. It seemed like all hope was lost.

That is, until, yesterday, when the UK police finally revealed the full details of the case, in which Sam Kerr, sporting legend, was arrested for vomiting in a cab, and then telling an intervening police officer that he was a “stupid white bastard”.

Now we probably don't need to point out that in Australia, vomiting in a taxi and then calling a cop a bastard is about as close to a national culture as we have.

You could not have come up with a better headline to make someone a national hero.

Needless to say, Sam in now being hailed down under as the greatest legend that ever lived, and a petition has already been started to have her picture added to the $5 note.

The tide has swung so far that not one, but TWO, state Premiers have spoken out in support of Kerr, and the Prime Minister has even gone on the record describing her as "a delight".

And so ends the racial abuse saga of our greatest sports hero of all time, and the very first reverse milkshake duck to ever exist.

I know it sounds like an annoying cliche but unless you're being cruel or hurtful there is really no need to be normal about things. The dude with the bad fake accent at the renaissance faire is having the time of his life. The people having photoshoots with their fashion dolls are loving it. The old lady with a yard unreasonably full of tacky ass lawn ornaments is having a blast, HOA be damned.
