Ooo, yes!

E discovered their writing talent before their singing talent, so they originally thought ‘okay, I’ll be a songwriter’.

^ All until one day they were at their friend’s birthday party. The live music booked for it got sick and didn’t turn up so E stepped in — and boom, found their singing talent.

They have multiple notebooks full of songs written, they even have the first shitty one they started working in.

E also dates when they start working on songs.

Genre: pop, RnB, a bit of dance. They’re a very emotive artist so they’d love to sing a ballad at some point… their label isn’t keen on that last idea.

Has a bass guitar named Rebel and an acoustic guitar named Rae. Also named their grand piano Forte <- (yes, E is a softie)

They like adding Spanish lyrics to some of their songs.

E realllyyy wants one of their tracks to be on a movie soundtrack.

When they’re on tour, their team: dancers, backing singers, technicians, catering, band etc. always have the best stuff to say about how lovely, caring and inclusive E is… but of course the media love painting them out as a diva.

Anndd of courseee, they want the pinnacle, E wants a Grammy. They’ll take a Brit Award but… y’know, GRAMMY!

Pre-Beyond the Game:

I totally headcanon that E approached Second Coming and thought ‘I like them… I like HER!’ and was like super respectful about the approach, slid in the dms, met face to face a few times, became acquaintances and was completely honest from the beginning about wanting to work with Maxine.

Maxine & E got each other’s numbers, they started texting and whatever and picked a date to go to the studio. Maxine strolls in, freshly dyed red hair and says ‘go on, what are your thoughts? tell me what you want’ *insert innuendo from E here*

E eventually gets serious & says that the media has been on their ass and they’re pretty much sick of it, especially since they’re usually depicted as only a model with no talent.

And I feel like Max loosely relates in a sense where she knows that the media is always going to have an opinion on you, and I think she handles this aspect of fame better than E but y'know... it's gonna sting sometimes.

Thus, the two of them talking about their dislike for certain aspects of their careers and the media — this then caused the creation and birth of Heartless.

I feel like Heartless had a good idea behind, obviously two talented artists ready to work on it, and it ended up taking some long ass months to finish and get perfect.

Month 5: I just imagine the two of them in the studio, a little tired, well past midnight, something isn't quite going right with the song, they've ordered takeout to relax and they're talking about stuff that they wouldn't usually tell anyone... if feelings are getting caught, it's right hereee.

^ Like they're looking at each other with hooded eyes and they just knoww that, not that it's necessarily a bad idea for them to kiss/catch feelings, but they both have 'thoughts' about relationships as a whole, and their partnership was one they walked into without even thinking about anything other than music... definitely leaving whether they kissed/did anything more up to you nikka

Fast-forward: Heartless is out into the world, gets nominated for an award and the single holds such a special place in E's heart. Definitely solidified Max and E's friendship, like E adores her.

I feel like they regularly keep in contact too — calls, texts, FaceTimes, chatting shit about the media as usual. E will always want to know how Second Coming's doing. E definitely invites them to tour with them.

Alsooo, headcanon that E has literally written a song about Max: just how grateful they are for their friendship with her, how you can find a person who is such a diamond in this industry etc... but that song is never seeing daylight asdfghjkl (shy E! for once)

Beyond The Game:

E texts Maxine like 'hey, got hospitality tickets to this football game... wanna come with??'

Hospitality seats at football stadiums are soo nice, like you're inside and you can watch through a window or watch on tv and you have the best food, alcohol, and you're rubbing shoulders with other celebs that are there.

Soo, Max and E would get pictured together and they'd probably laugh about it.

Whilst they're watching the game, Max would probably say 'oh, she's cute/hot' and she's talking about Miko. Miko then scores a goal. Maxine: 'very hot'.

^ This would then get E smiling a little...

Do you ever just think about how extremely lonely & sad max was when she was pushing everyone away? Like we catch a glimpse of it — BUT just imagine going that long , isolating yourself, reverting back to having no friends. Getting rid of your happiness, the happiness you only just received—- coming from a broken home, having no friends back in Cali , to making your own family — only to push it all away ?? Was it really better to have had and lost , or would she have been better off just never finding that happiness ?

VAMPIRES WILL NEVER HURT YOU : VAMPIRIC TRAITS

As Jude is a fandomless character , I take inspiration from various media and folklore for how his vampirism operates. These apply to all vampires within this original setting.

GENERAL TRAITS : These are things that occur when embraced and are typically physiological.

RETRACTABLE FANGS : Vampire fangs are not visible until they want them to be. It can be involuntary as well such as when experiencing very strong emotions ( more common among fledglings ) or when very hungry.

UNSETTLING BEAUTY : Once embraced , vampires become supernaturally attractive in a way that is strangely alluring. Nothing drastic changes about their appearance but there is something about the quality that fundamentally changes in an almost faelike way. Vampires hunt better when their prey is intrigued by them.

TECHNICALLY DEAD : A person must die to become a vampire , and their body reflects this. They are cold to the touch , have no heartbeat , etc. When it comes to doing things they could while living “there is no relief tied to the action” a la one of the only valid things to come out of Tw*light. Vampires can eat but everything tastes like ash. They can breathe but there is no satisfactory sensation like when they were mortal and alive. They can sleep , but have no need to save for avoiding sunlight which can be circumvented as well. However , drugs and alcohol do affect them somewhat , but both are stronger when someone they feed on has recently partaken.

DRINK BLOOD : An obvious one but vampires can only sustain themselves on blood. Animal blood is an option , but it is extremely unsatisfying and surviving on it only requires near constant feeding. Drinking human blood is generally required at minimum every few days. If one does not feed they begin to take on a slightly more monstrous appearance ( more reflective eyes , veins turning black , visible fangs , etc. ) The quality of the human effects this as well : someone who is well off and thus able to afford to take good care of themselves is a better meal than someone who does not. Blood from a blood bank is only marginally less effective than a live human to the point it almost does not matter. A vampire can feed on other vampires but it is very difficult to do so. Draining someone entirely is the only way to fully satiate hunger and stop the ever present burn in your throat but it does not last long and runs the risk of discovery.

VENOMOUS SALIVA : There is essentially a toxin within vampires that allows them to better survive. Whenever they bite someone , there is momentary pain in their prey that is quickly replaced by a very pleasant and pleasurable feeling. It makes victims docile to allow them to feed and the linger effects leave them almost intoxicated for a little while after. It is with this same trait they can close the puncture wounds. And create other vampires.

EMBRACE : As is typical with vampire lore , the only way they can “reproduce” is through the bite , referred to as embracing. Someone must be almost completely drained of blood and killed before they can be turned into a creature of the night. Once this is done , the sire must feed their potential creation some of their own blood to complete the process. This means that having been fed upon does not automatically make someone a vampire and even then the toxin is “cycled out” after a few days anyway. The embrace is a very intentional act and why there is not an overabundance of vampires.

POWERS : Additional abilities that vampires have along the more supernatural line. Nearly all of these powers increase in strength as a vampire ages , and can weaken if one has not fed enough recently.

IMMORTAL : All vampires are undying , able to exist in perpetuity at the age they were embraced. They are already dead and there are few ways for them to meet a true death.

SUPERNATURAL CHARM : Vampires are not just physically alluring but literally so. They are able to take over the mind , to varying degrees , of other creatures. Their very presence can become more attracting , intimidating , or compelling with magical emotional manipulation. They can alter minds as well , confusing and altering memories , dominating any who can be influenced. Other vampires are more resistant to these effects , and few humans can without proper magical protection. When these powers are used , a slight tinge of red enters the iris coloring.

SUPERNATURAL PHYSICALITY : Even if they may not look it , all vampires have enhanced physical abilities. This includes supernatural strength , speed , reflexes , endurance , toughness , and senses. A vampire can will these abilities to exceed even vampiric basic standards in some cases at the cost of growing hungrier. For example , being fast enough to cross large distances in a moment , strong enough to stop a moving train , etc. though all of these obviously run the risk of mortal exposure. The state of a person during life when they were embraced does have some influence on the proportional vampiric abilities.

RAPID HEALING : Already difficult to damage , when a vampire is injured their body heals very quickly. A broken bone can typically be fixed within minutes.

WALL CLIMBING / WALKING : Vampires can walk or climb on vertical or upside down surfaces. They do not need to remain in motion and could theoretically sleep laying “down” on the ceiling if they feel like it.

THRALLS : In addition to being enthralling , vampires have the ability to create thralls. These are creatures , typically mortal humans , they are compelled into loyalty bordering on obsession in some cases. Thralls must be created by feeding vampire blood to the subject continuously over time in addition to repeated exposure to the mental manipulation of enthrallment.

WEAKNESSES : A list of weaknesses that often fatally affect vampires.

SUNLIGHT : The sun is fatal to vampires , though the burning process is not instantaneous. It takes a minute or two until it completely dissolves a vampire to dust. Vampire hunters can be especially cruel and leave a vampire tied up to meet the rising sun to draw out the true death. However , there is one way to prevent this from happening : an enchanted object of personal significance. Vampires have the ability to do this process themselves , but more often than not they require the assistance of a witch. Once the enchantment is complete , the object must be carried or worn and the vampire is able to walk in the sunlight. The moment it is removed from their person they can be burned. Only natural sunlight can kill a vampire ; manmade items like sunlamps do nothing.

BEHEADING : Removing the head results in immediate true death for a vampire. Due to their supernatural toughness , this is very difficult to do.

FIRE : While not an immediate death , fire is incredibly dangerous to vampires. It can burn them almost as quickly as sunlight and it impedes their regenerative healing significantly.

STAKE TO THE HEART : Whether it be wooden or not , being staked does not kill a vampire. Instead , it paralyzes them until it is removed and the injury takes time to heal. Some of the oldest of vampires go through the process of actually removing their heart , at the cost of deadening their emotions and morals , to prevent this possibility.

SILVER : Also not fatal though still dangerous. It does not burn them or anything as with werewolves , but it is easier to wound a vampire with silver weaponry. Like fire , it impacts their ability to rapidly heal their bodies after sustaining damage.

MYTHS : A list of other popular vampire lore that do not apply , or apply differently , to this setting.

HOLY PLACES / OBJECTS : If you could not tell by the nature of this blog , such things do not affect vampires , no matter the religion. There are supernatural wards that exist though , and have often been applied to holy places or objects , hence the prevalence of this myth.

ALCHEMY / MAGIC : Magic of the more physical than innate sense typically belongs to the realm of witches. However , vampires are capable of following the same practices and in fact are better equipped at grasping this talent than humans new to witchcraft and some other supernatural creatures. More specifically , vampires are able to take to blood magic very quickly if they are taught or learn it themselves due to their propensity for sanguine elements.

RUNNING WATER : Vampires are not affected by this in any way.

INVITATION : There is nothing stopping a vampire from coming into your home. Again , the wards that exist are often the cause of the belief in this limitation.

SHAPESHIFTING : Vampires cannot turn into bats , rats , dogs , clouds of mist , turn invisible , or anything like that.

ANIMAL AFFINITY : Animals are not able to be specifically commanded by vampires , but they are more susceptible to their ability to compel other beings.

GARLIC : This does not work as a vampire deterrent.

MIRRORS : Vampires do have reflections.

weekend update!

this week was a bit meh for personal reasons so i didn't get as far into nona as i was expecting (a whole 50 pages, like four days ago) but i'm doing better now and looking forward to getting back into it!

i did read two and a half volumes of shimanami tasogare tho! vol 2 made me cry (again) and vol 3 didn't make me cry but it did make me quite emotional. i'll talk about vol 4 next week! aside from crying i did also have some quite visceral WTF ARE YOU DOING moments so there's that too asdfghjkl i really do adore the series, the art gets better and better as it goes on, the characters are all deep and complicated (they feel like real people), and the queer rep is great to see, especially in manga where it's usually harder to find

oh and i dropped none of the above, not cos it's bad (to it is a bit rambly) but cos i need to come back to it at another time.

Gotta say i love your fics, romance is sadly not my cup of tea (idk i'm just.. not interested by it) so i really like all your 'can be seen as platonic or romantic' fics. Its nice... people seem to forget that platonic bonds can just be as powerful as romantic bonds, so thank you!

Well, I haven't written anything in eons, but here's a new update to one of my WIPs! It's quite short but has finally gotten all the principal characters in the same place as each other.

𝐈'𝐌 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐃

pairing: fwb!james x reader

word count: 1.5k words

warnings and contents: for my friends with benefits james there is no smut asdfghjkl, hurt, jealousy, FLUFF

you're sitting in the great hall eating breakfast and you spot james across the hall with all the other gryffindors. you're unable to stop your lip quirk upwards as you hear his boisterous laugh, which you guess is due to some joke or prank he's retelling.

your small smile drops as you see lily evans walk up the marauders. you've never had a problem with her, she is a popular gryffindor that is friendly and works well to get top marks but the way she's walking up to the marauders, looking at james determined and with a mission, fills you with slight dread. if you were completely honest you felt she spent more time with james then necessary, especially considering how they've got their own friends and how many times she turned him down in the past.

the hall is already pretty quiet due to everyone already have eaten and a lot of people stop their conversations or lower their voices as they see lily go up to james. everyone in every house knows that's irregular. for the previous years of hogwarts james followed lily everywhere like a lost puppy always asking her out and coming up to her but he had stopped. no one knew why. it was because of you.

because the hall became so silent you heard what evans asked james and you wished the hall was louder, you wished you didn't hear, you wish you were somewhere else, anywhere else, you started to become sick as she asked james if he's free this weekend to go to hogsmeade. "i don't know, i think remus has to study but i know sirius and peter are free too. are all the other girls going?" at that moment it's hard to tell if he's actually oblivious or if he knows exactly what she's asking him but he's choosing not to answer. he has a smile on his face but even from a distance it looks a bit forced to you.

if you were anyone else you would lean to the fact he's being oblivious but you're not anyone, people always underestimate james and you have a feeling james knows exactly what she's actually asking but for some reason he's pretending that he has no clue what she means but you don't know why he'd do that. james is kind and wouldn't want to embarrass someone so publicly but at the same time you're unsure of why he'd be so sure of turning her down but the fact that he is does makes you incredibly happy, you won't tell him that though.

"oh, i don't actually know what the girls are doing. i meant just us two. like on a date?" lily asks him, not wavering at all even with what james has previously said.

james sighs under his breath. "i've got things to do, you should go with someone else."

"what about another weekend?" lily asks, hopeful and you don't blame her for that, anyone would be hopeful asking out someone who in the past asked them out every other day.

"lily, i'm sorry if i'm hurting your feelings but i don't want to go on a date with you," he tells her and you can see that he's trying to be as nice as he can be in a situation like this. no one caught on to the fact that james said that he's only sorry that he's hurt her feelings, he's not sorry for not wanting to date her though, like it's not even an option on my mind, he's not entertaining the thought about going on a date with her, you don't catch on, lily doesn't, the marauders don't, no one does.

everyone is stunned, they thought for sure he'd say yes, he has been pining after her for so long and most people just thought he started playing hard to get, giving her some distance until she recognises how much she misses him but that wasn't true at all. lily never crosses his mind anymore, why would she? he has you. you're all he thinks about. yeah at one point he fancied lily but he loves you.

after a couple beats lily replies with an, "oh, alright then. i guess i'll see you in the common room." this time it's lily that forces a smile. james doesn't respond. she has just been rejected and it's making her feel dejected, not only does james not want to go on a date with her but he doesn't want to hang out with her either. the whole time she thought this was some ploy from james to get her attention but she realised she was wrong. he has no interest in her at all.

as soon as lily's out of earshot and going out of the great hall you hear the loud voices of james' friends. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT PRONGS? DON'T YOU WANT LILY ANYMORE?"

"that was mean james, you didn't have to reject her in front of everyone."

"YOU DON'T WANT EVANS? I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. I NEVER THOUGHT THIS DAY WOULD COME. CAN I GO FOR HER?"

"i've got to say i'm surprised to prongs, i never thought you'd shut lily down like that. she really does like you and if this is some trick to get her to like you more, don't do it. she talks about you a lot."

james interrupts his friends knowing this could go on all morning and knowing that you're definitely hearing all this, worried you might be getting the wrong idea. "you can go for her pads, it's none of my business." they all look even more shocked as they hear this but he carries on, "i have no interest in lily whatsoever, yes i used to but i moved on from that. i didn't try to be mean peter but she wasn't taking a hint, i kept trying to tell her no and to let her down gently and moony honestly you shouldn't be surprised if anything it's more surprising that this hasn't happened sooner, me and lily have absolutely nothing in common and we can barely hold a conversation together that last more than ten minutes."

they're all rendered speechless at james as they realise he is 100 percent serious about this. no matter if lily chases james just like he chased her his answer will always be the same, no.

in james' eyes lily doesn't hold a candle to you.

he flicks his eye to where you're sitting and you briefly make eye contact. james was feeling in a bit of a negative mood after what happened but that immediately changed when he glances at you to see that you're already looking at him. you see a stupid grin appear on his face, uncontrolled and automatic, you quickly look down knowing that you've been caught watching him. as you're looking down you smile at the whole situation. james told lily no, and he said it so certain like nothing could change his mind. that absolutely stopped the sicky feeling you had. no one would notice you smiling as you're looking away from everyone but james knew that's what you'd be doing.

james wants to grab your face and lift it up so you're looking at each other again, he already misses your face and the colours of your eyes and it's only been a second since you've looked away from him. he wants to see your bashful smile as you try to look away from him again but he'll just place hundreds of kisses all over your face instead. he wants to desperately tell you that lily doesn't mean anything to him, you have gotten jealous on occasion due to lily even if you deny it, hopefully this might help. he wants to tell you that there's nothing to be jealous about. although you both know that he'll likely tease you about how you was "staring" at him the whole time when he turned down lily.

"what the fuck are you grinning about james?" remus asks, he seems the most annoyed with james about how he handled the situation, remus and lily are study buddies so they are actually good friends and he's known for awhile how lily has felt about james he's just always thought james still feels the same way, he thought it was mutual.

james snaps out off his thoughts of you, not wanting the marauders to question him about you. "nothing important," james replies, not looking back at you.

he hopes that he'll have the chance to talk to you today, even if it's for five minutes. maybe you'll talk about your plans for the weekend and you can try and find time to get together, maybe you'll tease him and say lily invited you to hogsmeade while you were at dinner.
