Milgranon, hello again 🫡
Been thinking about what genres everyone's first songs would be, don't mind meeee
Yuma - I'm feeling hyperpop, bright and flashy, to accompany the visuals of the mystery labyrinth. A very upbeat tone, and the song would show some of the mysteries being solved in the labyrinth- no other context though. Each chorus would go dark for a second and show him doing the sword slice before a culprit drops dead.
Halara - Here I'm thinking the type of noir, like the old kind of detective shows? Grim and bleak visuals, and would mainly focus on them coldly accepting money, solving mysteries and beating up those who get in their way. The particular murder I imagine for them is them getting particularly angry and beating a guy so hard they break his neck, so I'm thinking there'd be a lot of people suddenly twisting their head in the MV.
Desuhiko - Rock. Rock, I'm thinking kind of fast rock. The song would focus on the split second that he made an order that he wasn't qualified for and what was racing through his mind then. I'm thinking the song focuses on the split second nature of it, using really short fast notes, and it ends super abruptly, with no warning before the instruments fade out.
Fubuki - Pop, but the kind that sounds really trauma-dumpy. The song would keep looping in on itself, reaching the chorus before the main melody goes back around 20 seconds, but the time it goes back each time decreases. The notes would reach higher and higher in pitch each time the track loops as well. Just before it goes back each time, it would show the person dying, and each loop closes in on Fubuki's face, who grows more desperate alongside the rising pitch. The song would fade out with Fubuki exhausted and unable to go back any further, just staring at the body.
Vivia - Acoustic, definitely. It would show him just living his life for the most part, in dreary colours as he trudges along. Every so often the colour become even darker before the sounds become rough and the screen goes dark for a few seconds. Then the colours return to what they were and Vivia continues going about his day. The fourth time this happens, you're able to catch a glimpse of a knife and the screen goes dark before a flatline sound can be heard and the song ends.
Yakou - Lofi, and the MV is very heavy on symbolism. The first part of the MV shows him and a bird. He cares for the bird, lovingly protecting it and shielding it from any dangers. During this section however, the image keeps flashing to what looks like a man breathing heavily while holding a knife. Halfway through, there's an explosion and it cuts to Yakou, holding a knife while looking down at something. The bird is then shown dead on the floor, with Yakou standing over it and seemingly looking somewhere else. The rest of the MV is Yakou pacing around, while flashes of the dead bird and him holding a knife are shown.
If you have any questions about any of my ideas, please feel free to ask me btw :)
OOOHHH OOUGHGH HELLO MILGRANON THIS IS SO GOOD GRAHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I feel like I can't comment too much about the music specifically because I'm honestly not very knowledgeable on music even though I love it. I love ALL of this though I can picture the visuals so clearly in my brain its GREAT you're very good at showing through words!!! I also agree with all the genres and I especially love the Fubuki one where it keeps repeating and getting more desperate. Also reading Yuma's immediately made me think about Nero's Day at Disneyland? That kind of vibe fits the Mystery Labyrinth I think!!!
Im also OBSESSED with the symbolism you have for Yakou's like omg... Actually all of the symbolism and the metaphors and such you used like its so sick!!! You're making me desperately wanting this to be real /lh
But yeah this is all GREAT thank you so much for sharing I can see all of this in my brain so vividly I love it I love it.
As for like... In this alternate world where the viewers wouldn't know the characters I'm going to like. give my best guess on what people would vote them as based only on what you gave me!!
Yuma: I feel like it would be very strange, especially since it would be the first one. But I can imagine it being everyone's immediate red flag when you can actually see him swinging his sword. If you took voice dramas into account I think that would make the voting even more complicated. So I think it would be very close but for the first round he'd be Innocent. Halara: I think it would be majority Guilty. They'd probably have some very dedicated fans though who are digging up the evidence to prove they're innocent and analyzing all of the people they get their money from and all of the people they beat up... But yeah I think it'd be majority Guilty. Desuhiko: This would be one of the more difficult ones. Like I feel like it has so little information on the surface if you don't already know what's happening. Especially if his disguises are also in play. Who is this unrelated guy? Is that his victim? Is it someone he knows? I don't think any of them would reveal their Fortes to Es and by extension the viewers so it'd be very hard to tell what's happening. And I think because of that for the first round he'd be voted Innocent because there just isn't enough info to condemn him for this first trial. Fubuki: Innocent for sure. I'm sure a small group would see her as guilty, but the viewers would probably pick up pretty quickly on how desperately she was trying to undo it and how it was most likely a mistake. I think added with whatever her Voice Drama would be would paint her in a VERY sympathetic light. so I think she'd be majorly voted Innocent. Vivia: Another one that is clouded in mystery. It doesn't tell us what exactly he did, why he did it, or what any of his motivation was. It just lets us know that, yes, he did in fact kill someone. I think the parts where it starts to go dark would be very heavily analyzed and could be taken in so many different ways by viewers. Taking the Voice Drama into account and how we talked about how he would be mostly honest but very very non descriptive. Everyone would just know that he wanted to live peacefully, and whoever it is he killed got in the way of that, but there isn't a lot of information. So all of that to say... I think it would be another close one, but ultimately he'd end up as Guilty. That said I think he'd be like a fan favorite. Yakou: I think with how symbolic his first MV would be, he'd also be very hotly debated among the fans. People would debate what the explosion means. If the explosion is what actually killed the bird and if the knife is a misdirect. But at the same time it very obviously shows him standing over that bird with a knife, so it's VERY easy to draw your own conclusions that whoever this bird represents must be his victim, because no one else appears in this specific MV. So that HAS to be his victim and he killed it, right? Did he mean to do it? No one really knows. But I think he'd be voted majority Guilty.
all of the fan theories would be WILD too like I can imagine all of the long tumblr analysis posts and theories and people pointing out details n stuff.
But if you agree or disagree with any of my reasoning please let me know!! This is so much fun to come up with I love seeing your asks and chatting about this!!!

Back again! I have survived school for the week! Anyways, without further ado, here’s the hunger duo!
Prisoner 007: Asahi Yano
So we’ve made it to the brat! Yay! I’d say that this murder is fairly straightforward, except for the fact that all the circumstances surrounding it are super hazy, even if the murder itself is plain as day.
So, I’m going to start by trying to piece together Asahi’s backstory. Asahi is Miki’s younger brother, and their mother died shortly after Asahi was born. Their father was probably not a nice dude, considering the… everything about his kids, and Asahi ran away from home. (Notably, Asahi recalls how his father spoke well enough to emulate it, but doesn’t recall his birth name. Which is weird.)
Anyways, after running away, Asahi runs into a Mrs. Yano. Mrs. Yano wants children but has fertility issues that make it pretty much impossible, so when she finds Asahi, she scoops him up pretty much immediately and declares him her son. (The legality of this is… questionable, IMO. I think under most circumstances, Asahi would have just been returned to his father? Which makes me wonder how this actually went down.)
I’m not totally clear on if Asahi disliked Mrs. Yano from the beginning or if he started hating her later on, but either way by the time he’s 11 the relationship has deteriorated massively. Asahi is spoiled and demanding, and Mrs. Yano was not prepared for a child this difficult.
Eventually, Asahi gets the idea to hurt or maybe even kill Mrs. Yano. This leads to the events of the MV, where Asahi compiles a list of weaknesses and then ends up killing Mrs. Yano by tampering with her food. My guess is he triggered an allergic reaction: if Mrs. Yano had a common food allergy, it wouldn’t be hard for Asahi to get ahold of something she was allergic to and slip it into her food. It’d also explain the focus on her weaknesses if it was something that wouldn’t affect most other people, like a food allergy.
Anyways, that brings me to the last scene in the MV. …The puddle is PROBABLY metaphorical? I can’t think of what Asahi could have been lying in a literal puddle of. I think image-coloured liquid is usually blood, but Asahi lying in a pool of blood makes zero sense whatsoever.
I don’t quite understand Asahi’s memory loss either. My best guess is he’s repressed some of his murder due to trauma? Killing someone generally qualifies as a traumatic experience, so it’d track.
Anyways, he ran away from home shortly after the murder, probably to avoid Mr. Yano literally killing him considering they don’t seem to have had the best relationship, and that’s when MILGRAM kidnapped him and brought him to the prison.
(Final thought: wonder what Miki’s reaction was the first time he called her “Miki-nee”. I can’t imagine her hearing that and not having a minor heart attack, even if she knows that’s just how he addresses everybody.)
Prisoner 008: Yurika Maruyama
Okay, number eight! Yurika is an interesting character, but holy fuck her VD makes me hate her a little. I hope she doesn’t usually act like that, but I have a sinking feeling she does.
Anyways, let’s start by establishing who Yurika is and who her victims were.
Yurika is pretty clearly an ex-rich kid, or at least I think so. Her parents are both famous creatives, so her family most likely has money. She also says her parents kicked her out and they’re not that close anymore, to the point she says she’d only be leaving her boss behind if she died. (My bet is that Yurika expected to live with them while she was attending university and thought she could keep relying on her allowance money, they told her she had to move out and get a job, and it escalated into a big fight.)
She’s unhappy with having to grow up and wishes she could be a kid forever, finding adulthood extremely stressful. She also appears to be the most popular waitress at the cafe she works at, and is close enough with her manager that she’s been to her place multiple times. (She’s also kind of whiny and childish, and if her VD is any indication she’s prone to fits of dramatic hysterics.)
In contrast, we have precisely two things on her victims. One is this quote from her VD:
Yurika: Well, actually, I wouldn't say that they were my stalkers…
Yurika: But they knew a bit too much about me. And I didn't want them to know even more.
Yurika: I just wanted them to respect my privacy, that's all!
And the other is this scene from her MV:
Yurika has a bad feeling and she keeps looking around as she walks home. But then, suddenly, the POV changes and we can see Yurika running away.. from us. She trips and falls and everything goes black for a second, but then we can see her lying on the ground, her clothes is torn and her hair is a mess now. It looks like we're pointing at her and laughing, but if you look closer, you can notice two right hands pointing at her, it's almost like she was attacked by two people.
So, whoever they were, they weren’t stalking Yurika, but she feels they knew too much about her and weren’t respecting her privacy. They also apparently followed her from work one day and assaulted her, in what was presumably a giant escalation from their usual behaviour.
Now, it’s possible this is just two customers who were sadists, or Yurika told them to back off and they took it poorly… but I suspect these might have actually been two of Yurika’s coworkers.
Think about it: if Yurika’s the most popular waitress at the cafe, that means she’s probably getting the lion’s share of the tips. She’s also very close with the manager, which easily leads to suspicion of preferential treatment, and I’d be willing to bet she gets the most hours and the best hours, either because she’s the most popular and management wants to maximize profit or because the manager likes her. Plus, she’s clearly an ex-rich kid, and God knows she must have been so whiny when she started working at the cafe. All that is an easy recipe for resentment. Especially when you and your sister walk in on her ranting about how much she hates her life. You know, like this:
“I HATE IT! I HATE EVERYTHING! I'M SO TIRED OF EVERYTHING, IT'S ALL SO TIRING AND OVERWHELMING AND STRESSFUL AND- W-wait, what are you two doing here?.."
So maybe you do some digging and find out Yurika’s the daughter of a famous romance novelist and a fashion designer, and maybe you dig up some more dirt on her while you’re at it, and maybe you and your sister confront her after work one day, and maybe she doesn’t take it too well.
Now, I’m not totally sure how a workplace dispute like this escalated into Yurika torturing them to death, but I strongly suspect it had something to with her manager. You did say Yurika’s murder had something to do with some sort of underground services: my bet is it was something similar to Kei’s job, taking photos or videos of people being hurt or killed to sell to creeps. (I know videos of people being killed are called snuff films, but I don’t think what Kei does is snuff, considering his models apparently generally survive being photographed.) A video would match with the VHS effect and the TV at the end of the MV, so I’ll go with that.
Anyways, to summarize my theory: Yurika’s victims were two of her coworkers, who were jealous and resentful. After a confrontation after work one day, Yurika told her manager about it, and her manager decided to bring Yurika into her side hustle by getting her to torture the offending coworkers to death while she recorded it.
(I might be totally wrong on all this, it’s kind of an out-there theory. Only things I’m actually sure about are Yurika’s backstory prior to getting that job and that that torture scene was something snuff film-adjacent.)
So, that’s two more done! Last set is the blame duo, Riku Kuroki and Reina Himura! See you sometime next week!
yay, congrats on surviving this week!! 🎉🎉
okay, so i can definitely say that you've got most of asahi's crime right. yurika's crime is much harder to talk about though.
again, i'll try not to reveal too much, but i will talk about some stuff that can't or won't be mentioned in the voice dramas, mvs or interrogations:
the reason why asahi can remember the way his father talked, but can't remember his own birth name is because his father had almost never used it. yeah, as you've guessed, he didn't like asahi that much. and miki had almost never called him by his name either because their father really hated hearing it.
yeah, being confused or worried about how legal was the whole "adopting" situation is understandable. mrs. yano was a nice woman, but she had this "uhh, well, money can solve everything, right?" kind of mindset, so she wasn't really worried. i can't say that mr. yano was a "bad" person, he was very against this whole thing because he knew that you just can't "adopt" a random kid even if he really did have an abusive father. i've originally planned to include this in his voice drama: asahi was supposed to reveal that his birth father actually died shortly after he got adopted (he had most likely heard about it after his new parents decided to go and check how the man is doing). so yeah, even if he did have a parent "waiting" for him, that parent was now dead. (which makes miki's childhood much more sad to think about. and if you're wondering, she didn't go to an orphanage after that, she started living with her grandparents)
the puddle is metaphorical and you don't have to worry about that. and about asahi's memory loss: this kid has an imaginary friend based on his "real mother" who he had never met and he can see her and hear her voice. yeah, he's only 11 years old (12 now if you count his birthday), but he's already trying to cope with his trauma in the ways that are a bit questionable. not that i'm saying that having imaginary friends is "unhealthy", but considering how much he refuses to accept that she's not real and that he really doesn't remember a lot of things about his early childhood, i'm afraid that as he becomes older, asahi's mental health problems will only get worse.
now, about yurika's crime.
yurika is very nice and polite most of the time, but she wasn't always like that. when she was younger, she was.. um.. basically, imagine asahi's female version who is also a bit older than him. and she still acts like that sometimes, when she's not around other people and she can just say what she wants.
yes, yurika really is an ex-rich kid! that's why i've said that asahi and yurika are the "reverse" versions of each other: one of them was born in a family who had financial problems and his father also refused to take care of him until he was adopted basically kidnapped by a rich family and the other one was a rich kid since the day she was born, but got kicked out by her parents (who really did love her, but simply got tired of her behavior) who got sick of her not being able to do anything without their help.
i'm gonna be honest, you've got most of yurika's crime wrong, but i won't get into the details. i'm just gonna say that again, yurika really was more of a criminal than you'd expect her to be and she and kei are surprisingly similar when it comes to that topic, but her "job" was different from what kei did. ah, and also, it wasn't snuff films. that's what kei and eiji's father does.

Here is your freedom to talk about the music video for telling myself (there are so many good ones; choosing one was so hard). Also idk if you meant just give you a music video to talk about or actually give a prompt about the mv so lemme know if you need a more detailed ask
hehe ilyyyyy thank you for this, I did mean specific ones but honestly I want to ramble about them all and Dan sent a general ask so he will get a super long super indepth thing that is already scaring me and I'm only 3 songs in <33 NOW ONTO THE VIDEO
Telling Myself
now this used to be my fav joshua bassett song and I was absolutely OBSESSED with the music video so get READY for my thots <3
of course we start out with the handcuffed hands, which I didn't notice my first time around like an absolute SILLY BILLY but we all have our faults <3 the contrast with them holding hands when its all bright and sunny (0:17) is so simple yet nice. him casually singing the cutaway shots in front of the place they're about to rob is so unnecessarily funny, and I love the little look directly into the camera as he sings 'how could I ignore my doubts'
the kiss at 1.04 is so pretty and simple with the colours and silhouettes and he does this kinda thing a good amount and I like it each time (big compliment, I hate onscreen kisses) and then the way it changes into an argument at 1.11 is so fun especially with the aesthetic background still there, I really love that shot. I love the way they incorporated the stealing into the song and how it cuts to him in the police station as he sings 'how could you forget the first half of the story now?' (1.26).
'now that you're gone i see it more clearly' (1.48) with him alone in the police chairs is soo good and adds to the narrative in the music video that feels likes it's own thing completely separate from the song. it helps push what later becomes more of a clear point that it wasn't actually that good, like here she left to get questioned and he's finally thinking clearly and idk I like that decision a lot.
I also love the part at 1.56 where he lies down on the bed, and then they bring it back at 2:00 for the cut into the chorus, and he sings it as he moves forward?? idk why that works really well to me, but I love it
the ending is so fucking good the scene at 2:44 where he flops onto the bed then the lights start blaring and he pops back up like a meerkat I adore so much it such a good ending.
hehe i loved this a lot and be ready for a longggggg post about his music videos at any point, I have so much to say its embarrassing 😭
anyone can still send an ask about a specific music video if they want I'm going to do them all anyway so feel free to go hog wild and also if anyone wants..... me to try and rank them 👀👀 well....... I would try

The other day, I went to Billboard Live Yokohama to see Yoshiko Hanzaki's 5th anniversary concert! Satoshi Takebe-san was accompanying her on piano! 😊🌟 Such a gorgeous performance with a strings quartet! ️ Here’s the original drink, it was called "Shizuko and Mitsuo's Wedding Anniversary 48" (seems like it was referring to the wedding anniversary of her parents 🥰💕). It was delicious ♪ ↑ The second picture was taken by my manager. She is much better at taking pictures. It was my first time after a long time attenting one of Hanzaki-san’s live performances, I kept crying from beginning to end ... 😭✨ I have an affliction where I will immediately break into tears  as soon as I hear Hanzaki-san’s singing voice *laughs* Really, she sounded wonderful ... After the performance, I went to see her backstage and my eyes were still swollen. I had to laugh when I heard Hanzaki-san’s speaking voice for the first time *laughs*🤣 We had a lot of fun!
Hello, this is Wakana (0 ̄ ▽ ̄0) /
I'm worried that I might have scared awayHanzaki-san... (* ´-`) Takebe-san was laughing from somewhere was laughing from somewhere in the back ☆
On a side note, the full version of my Lament (character-themed song) "Flag" for the character "Florence" in the new RPG "MementoMori" was released yesterday! ️ \\\\ ٩ ('ω') و ////
▼ [MV] "Flag" (Song. Wakana) (Full Ver.) [MementoMori]  https://youtu.be/3E3v-SdxVW0
Three days ago, we released a special version of the song combined with Ayaka Suwa's voice over, I was very happy to receive many impressions and comments from everyone! !! (;;) ✨ And I'm also incredibly happy to receive a lot of kind comments on the full version of the song which was released yesterday 😭✨ Thank you!
I already mentioned it on Instagram but I recorded this song back in September. I've had to be quiet for half a year, it was really painful 😂 I was dying to tell you as quickly as possible 😂 Finally the news are out, I'm so happy! !! !! \ (^ O ^) / My feelings for this song were really profound and all-encompassing, I felt as if I was making an entire album. It was just too much *laughs*🤣. I may have put too much pressure on myself challenging this song, no matter if I was awake or asleep, the song was constantly on my mind, I had a hard time coming to terms with what I wanted to do with it. Still, I decided it was most important to put all my aspirations into the song in order to best express the music ! \\\ ٩ (๑` ^ ´๑) ۶ ////
During the recording, I put all of myself into the singing! Thinking back on it, I was quite nervous, it almost felt like it was the day of a concert (´ω `). To tell you the truth, the harmony in this song is extremely difficult, I had to practice so much to make it sound smooth, I don’t think I can do it again🤣🤣 Truly, the harmony was a real struggle.
But overall, the recording was really fun and when I think back on it, I realise that I felt super empowered that day (why?). Anyway, I recorded it with the thought of wanting to sing it in front of all of you. Back then I didn’t think too much of it but I feel like I got sick when I came home.
I'm really grateful to have gotten the opportunity to do this recording 🤗💕 I am glad I can add some colour via music to a great work which is a team effort of so many different people. May it be part of the "joy" and "happiness" of many people 🌟 Please enjoy the song together with the game! !! ((o (^ ∇ ^) o))
Well then, I will leave it around here! Until next time~ ☆ (*'▽' *) /

*burst through your front door* DID SOMEBODY SAY ALICE MARE?!!!! (God it's been so long now I want to replay that... I remember it being very short and mostly just creepy, made me feel constantly on edge due to the atmosphere at some places)
Also I feel like I need to ask... What amnesia?
Uuuh I think it's from the same series due to naming convention, but I'm pretty sure aside from Heart no Kuni no Alice I've seen at least Spade and Clover no Kuni no Alice. I don't know how big the series is though and I don't know if you knew about the series or just the Hearts one.
I know there is an otome called Shiro to Kuro no Alice which plays with the concept of the looking glass sort of? and separates the typical characters of Alice in Wonderland into two groups depending on what "Alice" you choose to play as, but I don't think it's translated really ;;; I just saw an MV one day with the CGs of the game and thought the character designs and the illustrations were pretty.
Ah... I feel like I should know more because I adore the concept as well but my memory doesn't want to cooperate right now ;;;-;;; (also I know I've seen different games called American McGee Alice but I never really got too into it so is it like... A series??? Because I remember seeing two and one of them definitely looked newer in graphics)
Um... Sorry for the long ask Robin ^^;
shia this is why were friends HEHE alicemare was made by miwashiba who i adore to death and back and will rant about for hours if you give me the chance
amnesia uhm i dont remember much about except for some tsundere red-coloured guy ( shin ?? i think ??? ) and a blue guy named ikuto ( ?????? too lazy to look it up ) but like the mc had amnesia or something and i only vaguely remember it and there were like playing card deck motifs with the 4 guys and i think my brain is trying to twist it into an aiw twist kinds thing HAHAHA
SPADE AND CLOVER MY BELOVED AUGH i recently went to a mall and actually managed to find one of the manga im so happy ( alice in the country of heart : the lizard aide btw ) and AUGHRBDOSHD i used to have a major hyperfix on this game years and years ago before the eng tl got discontinued and taken off the app store and then quinrose got axed and I LOVE THIS ADAPTATION theres a spin off for each suit so you have the main ( heart ) , and then clover spade diamond and then you also have alice in the country of JOKER and UGH I LOVE JOKER and then theres like ?? reverse ??? i think thats the looking glass insp but like we see the main cast except alice iirc as kids / younger but that mmmmmiight be a joker thing .... theres a lot in this series im so sad it never picked up steam because there was so much content that im pretty sure is just lost or super obscure and hard to find now
THAT SOUNDS SO COOL ill def have to look into it !! the name definitely rings a bell like im pretty sure a pal mentioned that to me recently because of one of the vas ( shouta aoi is haunting me ) ( so is toshiki masuda but thats not the va my pal mentioned iirc )
yaya theres 2 released games for amga ( how i shorten it ww ) and a 3rd that im pretty sure is in development hell last i checked !! there was about a 10 year gap between the 1st and 2nd game and i never played them but i loved looking up videos about them when i was younger because i love horror and alice in wonderland hehehe
you think your ask was long . i dont know what " being quiet " or " summarizing your points " mean

As for the song itself, I was underwhelmed too. The beat is nice but it’s not distinct enough for me like most of their songs. Most of their title tracks have sounds that I rarely heard before. From firetruck to sticker, most of them has really weird sounding sounds that suck you right into the songs. I recall their songs through their beats as opposed to the melody. That’s also why I think most people can vocalise their beats. They are distinct. I think for me this might be the least 127 sounding title track for me.
The beats is one thing but the rap is also not memorable which is almost never the case with Mark and Taeyong’s rap. I personally only like Jaehyun’s rap. Doyoung line in first verse is really good on its own but it doesn’t flow smoothly from Jungwoo. Honestly, the whole song is like that for me. It’s not connected smoothly. I’ve been listening to this song for more than twenty times already. It’s not getting into my head. I just can’t grasp the construction of this song. This is coming from a person who really like the controversial sticker and chain, so I really think it this is really is just about my personal preference. I conclude it’s just not for me. I’m glad tho that most of the feedbacks online is positive. Still hyped for the rest of the album too.
(Okay i listen to the song again after writing all above . Letting go of all the negative things, just enjoying the song without scrutinising. Honestly, it’s not that as bad as I’ve written above. Ugh why am i like this🥲. I am so set of wanting this comeback to be the next sticker. It clouded my judgement. Lesson learnt. Just let go of expectations, enjoy it and now i’m actually bobbing to it. The same goes to my mv opinion before. I honestly felt like I open the door and let the song in when I let go of my expectations. My brain catch the song pretty fast. Interesting. It was just now I cannot accept the song but once I opened up it instantly clicked? Is there better way to explain this? Being too scrutinising really takes the fun out of everything but i think it’s only a normal reaction when you put expectations on things.) I feel like I’m spamming your ask today sorry T T
2 Baddies is a ear-worm, there are several parts that start to rotate in the mind with ease. The way Haechan and Doyoung sang their first lines is the "distinct" you are looking for.
I do suspect the song was made out of two. It's hard to imagine that the chorus/rap parts and the vocal-line retro parts were thought of by the same person, they are too distinct in colour. I find the song a tad too slow in the beginning, but it has a nice vortex effect in the end, as a viewer/listener you are being pulled in by the speeding up tempo and the synchronised choreo.
I like Mark's rap, he is experienced enough to make it interesting. Agree about Woo-Do transition. It's a very patchy moment. Do's retro moment should have been longer or repeated again. Because the effect from it dissipiates quickly. Again, agree that the song is not connected very well overall. The task was probably very difficult to begin with. I really like the end of the song though, it has a very good build up with nice adlibs and Jaehyun's finishing line (the way he pronounces it) is good.
I think it's a song to tune in and out, that's why it's better as a performance, when the boys and the moves distract you. If you look at it as a whole, pay close attention, the architecture isn't solid, a rough voice transition here, a not smooth switch of tempos there, however it does make you fall for the rhythm and bop your head.
One musician with perfect hearing said he can't listen to orchestras, can't enjoy them, he is distracted with the players making minor mistakes. Once you stopped looking at the song with a magnifying glass, you was able to fall for the primitive urge to follow "the rhythm of drums", to follow the crowd.
"2 baddies, 2 baddies, 1 porsche" is a super stupid phrase with no wit in it, but it's a chant, and Taeyong says to follow him, so you do, heh.
As for the comeback, it's the first one after 2,5 years with live fans on music shows, face to face fanmeets, comeback shows with live singing. So you are lucky. It looks like the comeback would be of small scale promotion wise (depends on what 127 will do in US), but neos themselves are hyped. Tired, but happy. Except maybe for Doyoung who has a burn out and Haechan who is evidently tired from the double shift (he isn't as physically strong as Mark), all others are at the best place mentally and emotionally as they don't need to prove anything anymore, the scandals are in the past, plus the fandom is finally active and united.

Titleist T400 Iron Set
Titleist T400 Iron Set – 7 Piece Graphite
Tumblr media
Launch It Longer
Play the most forgiving Titleist titleist t400 irons for sale used experience possible while launching it higher and farther. Designed to help moderate swing speed players score lower.
Technology & Innovation
Better Performance From Every Detail
Every aspect of T400 irons is engineered to produce greater playing distance – starting with the incredibly fast Super Thin L-Face. The lower edge of the face wraps around the sole, maintaining ball speed even when impact is made lower on the face. Masterfully fused with a confidence-inducing head shape, it makes faster feel effortless.
Easy Launch
Up to 100 grams of high-density titleist t400 review tungsten is strategically integrated into the heel and toe of the 5, 6, and 7 irons to lower the center of gravity and launch the ball high and far.
Smooth Turf Interaction
The innovative split sole preserves the performance benefits of Titleist T400 Iron Set the wide body design while sliding through the turf like a player’s iron.
Extreme Forgiveness
The hollow construction allows weight to be moved where it can help you most, delivering outstanding MOI for shots that fly longer and straighter across the face Titleist T400 Iron Set – 7 Piece Graphite.
Shaft: Mitsubishi Fubuki MV
Grip: Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 Lite
HOW DO THE IRONS PERFORM?
Distance
Make no mistake: these irons are long. Really long. It truly is a super distance iron, and you’d be hard-pressed to find anything better on the market in that regard.
You will likely find that you pick up a half a club to a club more distance with the T400 compared to your previous gamers. And the T400 carries farther than the T300 — for me, it was about 7-9 yards on average.
The launch height is about the same as the T300, but because the T400 generates a few more mph of ball speed, it ends up going farther. This does have the slight drawback of reduced stopping power.
Forgiveness
The T400 has terrific forgiveness. In the 5-7 irons, the thin L-Face and hollow body combine to really maximize ball speeds across the face.
In terms of smash factor, I wasn’t really getting anything below 1.43 unless the strike was exceptionally bad. For a game-improvement iron, that’s really, really good.
The T400 is indeed a little more forgiving than the T300, doing a better job of preserving distance and direction on mis-hits.
Interesting fact: I found forgiveness to be the worst on the extreme end of the toe as well as on the upper part of the face, but relative to the other regions of the face, it’s a small difference.
Playability & Trajectory
In general, the ball flight and trajectory produced by the T400 iron is mid-high and straight with low spin.
You may be surprised by this launch given that the T400 has some of the strongest lofts in golf. However, the tungsten weighting in the 5-7 irons (which are the longest irons offered for the T400) really go to work in counteracting those strong lofts and getting the launch up.
With the shorter irons, the strong lofts can sometimes become an issue. I find that it can be difficult to hold certain greens, particularly elevated greens and greens with not a lot of length to them.
The T400 irons are not particularly workable, so don’t expect to be a shot-shaping machine with them. Nothing more than slight fades and draws are really practical.
WHAT ABOUT LOOK, SOUND & FEEL?
The Look
The T400 has an oversized profile, no question, which you could say is unusual for a Titleist iron.
It has the thickest top line and thickest sole in the T-Series of irons. In fact, it’s so thick that you can see a little bit of the back of the iron at address. It also has the most offset to help with that right miss.
The T400 has a long, rounded shape. The minimalist colour scheme with only white and black shades really give the impression of a players iron, but when you take a closer look at the shape and the tiered sole, it’s a dead giveaway that it’s not.
If a golfer is going for the really thick look to give them confidence over the ball, they’ll get that with the T400 iron.
The Sound & Feel
The T400 iron feels surprisingly light in t400 irons review your hands, especially with the graphite shaft. You might think it would be heavy because of the thick head, but in fact, it has a hollow construction that saves a considerable amount of weight.
When it comes to feel at impact, the T400 is quite unique: it has a sharper, higher-pitched sound which contrasts with the solid, muted feel of the other irons in the T-Series. I think this again can be traced back to the hollow body construction which, along with the thin face, increase ball speeds but also make impacts feel less heavy.
The sound at impact is generally loud. This doesn’t change much across the face, but the feel less crisp. In that respect, feedback is surprisingly distinct for such a forgiveness-focused iron.
KEY FEATURES OF THE TITLEIST T400 IRONS:
Constructed with a wide body shape that features a Split Sole design for increased turf interaction and a smooth strike
Hollow head construction offers high MOI that maximizes forgiveness on off center shots
Ultra-thin forged SUP-10 L-Face Insert in the 5-7 irons delivers explosive launch and increased ball speeds
High-density tungsten weighting creates a low Center of Gravity for high launch and consistent distance
Progressive blade lengths, sole widths and hosel lengths provide ideal CG positioning with preferred shaping through the set
Launch the ball longer and higher with the Titleist T400 Irons. Titleist’s most forgiving experience, the T400 Irons equip golfers with the most distance possible while providing maximum forgiveness. The wide body shape and Split Sole design allow for increased turf interaction and a smooth strike. A hollow head construction delivers high MOI for longer and straighter flight. High-density tungsten weighting combined with a super-thin face provides high launch and consistent distance.
DESIGN DETAILS:
Titleist’s most forgiving iron that equips golfers with the most distance possible complete with maximum forgiveness
Constructed with confidence-inspiring looks that offer a combination of power, performance and playability for an incredible shot experience
T-Series offers high-performance stock shafts designed with tour-proven ascending mass technology for maximum control
Grip: Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 Lite+ Grip
Super game-improvement iron: Largest, most forgiving iron type
Brand : Titleist

So. Tana? Is that correct? Well as your secret Santa thought I'd stop in and say hello! So many questions and such a limited character count. I guess I should start with the basics....who's your bias? Is it Jongdae? Your avatar is him but I don't want to just assume. How long have your been an exol? Do you have other interests? I saw your pinned post about gaming....what games are you into? Why is your favorite color your favorite color? What is your favorite color? Do you have a favourite song? If it's not an exo song which of our boys' songs is your most cherished? Go to song for a mood pick up? What sort of things do you create? Have you ever killed a man? Favorite movie or book? Why? Best moment in fandom life? What YouTube video have you watched the most?
I'll stop there and save some for later.
🎁🎄🎁
Hiii, my super awesome Secret Santa!
Tana is indeed correct~ welcome to my small corner of Tumblr!
Jongdae is my bias <333 I love him so much T_T who is your bias? or biases? I know some people have multiple, especially in bigger bands. To be honest, my ult top 10 has several EXO members! But Jongdae will always be my EXO bias, and my ult bias across all of kpop!
I've been an EXOL since... Tempo! While I enjoyed their title tracks before then, bought their songs and listened to their MVs etc, I didn't truly appreciate them until I listened to the Don't Mess Up My Tempo album. Everything clicked then, and I realised I had been so wrong about them before T_T and after listening to all their previous music it became evident that they'd always be my number one~
I do have some other interests. Like you saw, I enjoy gaming. The Mass Effect and Far Cry franchises are my everything <3 no matter what else is happening, I can always return to them and find some semblance of peace... it's hard to explain. But you can fish in FC5! Sometimes I just pop the game on to do that. Or turn on ME:A to travel between planets - it has this awesome feature where it's kinda like you're piloting the ship to each one. I've been thinking of Feros and Noveria again, which are missions in the first Mass Effect. They are my favourites! and I also need to finish my AC Syndicate playthrough so I can move forward to the next--
Sorry,,, heh, I tend to ramble T_T it's a bad habit of mine. Do you game?
My favourite colour is blue but I'm not sure why! It's just... pretty. Any colours that remind me of nighttime ambiance, stars and space, etc are my favourites too. The universe is so perfect.
Favourite song... that's too hard T_T well, I'll keep it easy by saying Monster by EXO! Which is your favourite? EXO or otherwise? and which solo is your favourite? Have you listened to Xiuminnie's new song? I LOVE IT !
I have a playlist called Cheer Up, Buttercup! and the first song in it is Good Day for a Good Day by Super Junior haha. There's a lot of GGs in it too, like Twice and Saturday.
I mainly create problems.
Err, I mean, I mainly write but I'm dipping my toes in GIF-making too!
I plead the fifth.
Interstellar is my favourite movie!! (... is it becoming obvious yet how obsessed I am with space?) and my favourite book is... wow, I can't believe I'm gonna be cliché like this but... probably Wuthering Heights? Or maybe The Gunslinger by Stephen King. What about you? I'd love to talk books or movies, especially if they are horror or sci-fi haha.
Oh... why... I'm never really sure why I like the things I do but I will say that I've seen Interstellar countless times (I even watched parts of it every time I went to the dentist lol). Before that was Avatar... and the second film is finally coming out!! T_T I'm so excited! As for the books... haha, I guess what makes a piece of media/fiction wonderful is the emotions it invokes.
It's the small things, like amazing events and excited conversations, that make fandom great.
My most watched YouTube video as of late is probably one of the music playlists I use to write, like Brian Tyler - I'm Sorry [Far Cry 3 ] (1 Hour Version) or Dark Clubbing / Bass House / Dark Techno Mix 'SINFUL'.
Now, my friend, I am curious about you! What's your most played YouTube? What do you like to create? Best part of fandom? Do you listen to music when you create? and if you do, what do you listen to?
It's so exciting to have a Secret Santa! I hope this answers your questions adequately and I look forward to your response!

Weak Hero as Idols pt.2
ft the rest of the Eungang
Tumblr media
Teddy Jin-Used to bully trainees but changed after Gray put him in his place. Is known for his visuals and his vocals, and is a pretty talented dancer too. Is a more introverted member, but he's very perceptive and cares for the other members. Owns a bunch of cats that just wander around the dorm. Ben, Alex and Rowan love them, while Eugene and Gray are okay with them. Gerard likes cats but is allergic. Fans and the group tease him for being an fboy, but he could never actually ask out a girl. Has average stage presence, but still stands out. Manages a Tiktok account that he is very active on, acts tough but is actually a huge softie. Fans make fun of his bowl cut era.
Tumblr media
Rowan Im- Very talkative and extroverted member. Might get hated on for being too noisy, but most people love him. Has a slight rivalry with Grape and Eunchan, and glares at them at award shows. Fans really want to know why. Definitely gets very talkative on those talkshows where the group has to compete for a prize. Overshares with fans on lives and ends up spoiling what the MV/Album is about. Company stops him from going live before the MV drops. Is very close with Teddy and Eugene. Has definitely walked the wrong way when leaving stage. Always dyes his hair another colour for a comeback. Keeps two obnoxious sugar gliders as pets that he runs a fan account of.
Tumblr media
Eugene Gale- Was a HUGE fan of Big Ben before joining the group and fanboyed super hard when he first met him. Has old posters of Ben. Trained in the same company as Rowan as trainees. Gets super flustered and embarrassed when interacting with fans. Listens to Jake Ji's music and fanboys when he sees him. Watches fan edits of him on a private account at 3 am. Gets shipped with Gray Yeon. Stands timidly at the back of the group when winning awards.

Here’s another ask game for caratblr! Assign your moots as seventeen comeback aesthetics (can include solos, OSTs, collabs, Japanese comebacks, etc) and say why you associate them with that aesthetic! Some can overlap too!
this was harder and took me way more than expected ahah I decided to go through svt mvs and see if they reminded me of my mutuals, but there are a few songs that I couldn’t associate with anyone so I left them out 🙈
🌼 adore u ~ chey @soonhoonsol ↳ chey is one of the first people that I followed (and probably my first mutual) but this is not the only reason why I associate her with adore u. the song is fun and has a youthful vibe, which reminds me of her, but in the mv we also see a lot of scenes that are not linked to one another and that made me think of chey’s various interests and groups she likes ahah and of course adore u has a special place in every carat’s heart and so does chey (at least here on tumblr ahah)
🌼 mansae ~ cora @ohoshi ↳ I haven’t followed cora for a very long time, but as soon as I watched mansae I thought of her. mansae has the same youthful vibe as adore u but it’s also very energetic and when it hits the chorus it puts you automatically in a good mood, and this is what happens everytime I see cora’s tags under my posts. also her creations are always colourful just like the mv and the members’ hair for this comeback ahah
🌼 pretty u ~ lyns @kyeomshine ↳ I think lyns’ style fits pretty u the best. the mv is fun but it also has a romantic vibe, like one of those coming-of-age movies, which reminds me so much of her creations. moreover, they applied a sepia tone to the mv and whenever I think of sepia I think of lyns ahah
🌼 love letter ~ lee @uriboogyu ↳ love letter is a cute and fun mv, with bright and pastel colours, so when I watched it my mind went straight to the cutest person I follow. and that person is lee. she works so hard to bring new content and to engage with other people as well, her whole blog is like a love letter to svt.
🌼 very nice ~ yza @jonghan ↳ I think aju nice reflects a lot of my mutuals’ vibe, but when I watched the mv I immediately thought of yza. it’s just her and her 13 biases ahah (I know she says she has a bias line but no one actually believes her). the colours in the mv are bright and a bit more saturated compared to previous mvs, which reminds me of her gifs, and the song is fun and upbeat, just like her personality. I think yza fits perfectly with aju nice.
🌼 healing ~ mirelle @leechaerok ↳ to be honest, I don’t need to watch the mv to associate this song to mirelle. she is just such a nice presence on my dash, I’m happy to see her even when she doesn’t post about seventeen. what I like about her is her positivite attitude, her optimism, and the fact that she always has a nice word for everyone. every time I see one of her posts, I immediately feel at ease.
🌼 boomboom ~ emily @iiasha ↳ there are two main reasons why I thought of emily while watching boomboom: jun looks amazing and there’s a lot of technology involved ahah also the video starts out mysterious but then turns out to be funny and a bit silly (and super cool if we include the choreography) and I think this describes exactly how I see emily ahah
🌼 don’t wanna cry ~ carrie @art-hao ↳ don’t wanna cry is one of my favourite mv and I think it matches perfectly with carrie’s style. it’s simple but impactful, and the colour palette and colour grading are gorgeous and well thought in every scene, just like every single creation carrie has posted on tumblr.
🌼 change up ~ zai @icecreamscxups ↳ I don’t really know, maybe it’s because of her change up gifsets, but I immediately thought of zai as soon as I clicked on the mv. I just get change up vibes from her ahah
🌼 habit ~ oona @vernons ↳ oona is a quiet and peaceful but constant presence on my dashboard, she’s seems chill and I like when she shares her other interests outside seventeen. she’s that calm mutual who creates the perfect balance with the more chaotic ones, that’s why I associate her with habit.
🌼 clap ~ dasha @smallkore ↳ clap is a really creative and fun mv and I immediately associated it with all dasha’s gfx. she is one of my favourite content creator, all her ideas are so original and well executed, just like clap mv. I hope she’ll come back soon because I really miss her content!
🌼 thanks ~ kale @choibeomgyus ↳ thanks is another one of my favourite mv, I really love the storyline and the atmosphere. I actually don’t know why I thought of kale as I watched it, but I think her style (which I adore) fits with thanks general vibe.
🌼 just do it ~ isa @kwanies ↳ just do it doesn’t really have an official mv, but I still wanted to include it because I think the lyrics are perfect for isa! I can’t really explain further, as I don’t really know her, but that’s the vibe I get from her ahah
🌼 oh my ~ sofi @scoups ↳ the first thing I associate with oh my is summer, and that’s something that reminds me of sofi’s aesthetic as well. seeing her colourful and bright posts makes me as happy as listening to oh my!
🌼 holiday ~ sarah @dkymm ↳ another song that is perfect for summer (and one of my favourite song ever). I think that sarah fits holiday‘s concept the best, even though I can’t really explain why. maybe it’s because I associate dokyeom stan with bright songs, or maybe it’s just the vibe I get from her, laid back and funny without trying too hard.
🌼 home ~ genesis @shineesbag ↳ I don’t think home concept fits genesis, but she’s still the first person that I thought of when I watched the mv. she’s the only one out of all my mutuals that follows all my blogs (thank you!) and we like more or less the same groups/people, so I just feel really comfortable when I see her on my dash (although we never actually talked). she’s a reassuring presence on my dash and one of my favourite blogs, just like home is one of my favoutie songs.
🌼 hit ~ anna @haniehae ↳ the reason why I associate anna with hit is quite obvious: anna is a dancer and hit has probably the hardest choreography. at first I thought that she would fit don’t wanna cry as well, since the choreography for that song is amazing, but I also feel that hit reflects more her style. I have two left feet, so I admire people that can dance, and anna dances very well!
🌼 fallin’ flower ~ célia @delicatecy and mary @efflorescing-mary ↳ the first person I associate with my all time favourite svt concept is célia (who is the first person I followed on this blog). her style is so elegant, so classy, so (as her url says) delicate. I love it as much as I love fallin’ flower, she is one of my favourite content creator and although she’s not active, I sometimes go on her blog to have a look at all her masterpieces. ↳ the second person I associate with this concept is mary. fallin’ flower is pure poetry, so of course it reminds me of her and her poems!
🌼 snap shoot ~ rhys @heartgyus ↳ me and rhys have been mutuals for less than a month, so I can’t say that I really know her. but I often see her on my dash and I think her personality fits snap shoot, both the song and the mv. also since the video was made by mingyu, my mind probably made a link between the two ahah
🌼 my my ~ maddie @kyeomblr ↳ another personal favourite, my my is a cute and bright song with a cute and bright mv. as I said, I tend to associate dokyeom stan to this kind of songs and I think this concept fits maddie! (I saw it was your birthday yesterday, so happy belated birthday!)
🌼 left and right ~ dreamy @scoupsy ↳ as soon as I watched left and right, dreamy was the first person that came to my mind. not only the concept reminds me of her style, but the song reflects her personality too I think. also left and right is coups’ first comeback after hiatus, so it holds a special place in my heart.
🌼 24h ~ zay @dk-s ↳ zay’s style and her colouring in particular really remind me of 24h. it’s dark without being too dark (like fear, for instance) and it’s quite elegant. also black and red is a colour scheme I associate with zay in general, so the outfits svt wore in the dance scene instantly made me think of her.
🌼 side by side ~ alicia @myungho ↳ that’s cheating, I know, but there’s only one person I can associate to side by side and that’s alicia. not only because she’s the resident myungho stan on my dash, but also the mv reminds me of her witty personality!
🌼 not alone ~ belle @xuseokgyu and nele @seohoshi ↳ the first person I thought of while watching not alone is belle. she’s the most supportive mutual, she always showers me with compliments, even when I post the simplest gifset, and she always makes sure to reblog my content even if it gets 2 notes. she surely makes me feel less alone sometimes. ↳ and I associate this song to nele too for a similar reason, but it’s a more general feeling I get from her. we don’t interact much, but when I see her tags on other people’s posts as well, she’s always so supporting and she always catches the smallest details. she really makes you feel like the time you spent on your content is not wasted.

Hey! If it’s not too much to ask can you make a list of random Jungwoo facts we know like you mention after his bubble updates? Something that can help new Jungwoo stans please
Okay suree and my sources are nct youtube videos, vlives, the video call events and bubble messages
Jungwoo started training in SM on 20 June 2014.
He has passed the SM Saturday Audition which is considered one of the hardest audition to pass.
He attended a vocational mechanical engineering high school.
He was known as the hidden trainee No.9 because he was spotted many a times with the rest of the SM Rookies.
He has trained with all current NCT members except for Shotaro.
He was introduced as a SM Rookie in April 2017.
He was shown in Super Juniors’s Yeesung Paper Umbrella MV
He made his debut in NCT U through the song Boss in February 18, 2018.
He then went on to join NCT 127 in Regular era.
His stans are called - Snoopyzens (because Jungwoo said he liked snoopy), kangajis (which translates to puppies - a fan asked Jungwoo during a video call event what he wants his fandom to be called and he wrote this on the album) or jungpals/jungfs (means Jungwoo’s friends- mainly used by his Korean stans)
His favourite 127 song is Welcome to my Playground. ( and Whiplash)
He is NCT 127’s Lead Vocalist and Lead Dancer.
Jungwoo went on a health related hiatus in August 2019 and officially resumed activities on 27 January 2020.
In Resonance Pt2 his favourite song is All About You.
He is the proclaimed mood maker of the group.
His MBTI is INFJ
Jungwoo has no religion.
He prefers Maths over English.
Jungwoo used to play soccer in school and at a point of time wanted to be a soccer player.
Jungwoo can jump over 230 cm (the only nct member to do so)
He has dog named Obok. Though Obok lives with Jungwoo’s aunt now.
Obok means 5 blessings and Jungwoo chose the number 5 during neo zone era because of that. (He was seen with 5 on his hoodie even during NCT world)
He likes tangerines because they are sour.
He likes to massage the tangerines to make them soft before eating.
But he wouldn’t call tangerines his favourite fruit because he likes all fruit.
He likes to watch cute animal videos specially Tigers.
Jungwoo has a drivers licence.
Jungwoo doesn’t like artificial scents.
Jungwoo likes to scare his members by making creepy faces specially Doyoung.
He is not a morning person.
He finds it hard to wake up in the morning. (also told by Lucas,Yuta and Mark)
Currently he lives on the 10th floor in the 127 dorms and he is roommates with Jaehyun. (In the previous dorm he used to room with Yuta and Taeil)
Before he joined 127 he used to live in the Dream Dorm.
Mark wakes him up in the morning during off days. (?)
Jungwoo doesn’t eat much in the morning.
He is th only 98liner in NCT as well as in SM. (Him and Mark decided to drop honorifics though so they are ‘friends’)
He is a Potterhead.
According to Jungwoo his house is Hufflepuff though he contemplated if it was Ravenclaw for some time.
He does not like horror movies/shows.
He likes animated movies.
In the Incredibles, he envies Dash’s speed superpower.
In a zombie apocalypse he would rather get bitten by zombies than run for his life.
According to Sungchan, Jungwoo was a model/exemplary trainee.
A fan asked Sungchan if Jungwoo was like a military commander when they were trainees, he said no it was instead like he was in charge of the military base. (Idk what is this suppose to mean)
According to Doyoung, Jungwoo was one of the older ones in his group so he used to lead the other trainees and the other trainees used to ask him for ‘permission to do this and that’
According to Jisung and Taeil , Jungwoo is kart rider god. (Taeil also mentioned he is god in spending money for the game) Haechan called Jungwoo a Kart Rider legend.
Mark named Jungwoo as the member he misses the most when he is away.
Yuta said he thinks Jungwoo can’t live without him.
Jungwoo is everyone’s food buddy, ie, everyone calls him up to have meals.
Overall he is not picky when it comes to food. And has described himself as ‘food fighter’
He is extremely organised. (to the point he is organises his tangerine peels too).
He is good at impersonating his members.
He cooks 0 times a week and order delivery 2-3 times.
He likes dark chocolate.
He prefers pork over beef.
He likes to have dark hair colour.
He likes sunny weather over rainy.
Jungwoo likes pastel colours.
He likes shopping with friends rather than going alone.
The dance he learnt first was hip hop.

Hey, in honor of A.C.E. coming back soon would you mind talking about their outfits and makeup in their Favorite Boy comeback (or really any of their outfits/make up cause their stylists is a god and deserves a kiss on the forehead)? They have some of my favorite styling of any boy group currently. Undercover Byeongkwan in the black and yellow crop top with the pony tail lives in my mind rent free and I’m not complaining. I especially loved the mesh of modern and traditional in Fav Boys.
yes!!!! ok be prepared people this is basically a love letter to a.c.e's stylist, whoever you are please my dms are open i just wanna talk (and maybe also get married, your choice)
(also this is really long because there's a lot of pictures, so sue me)
ok there's three main things i want to touch on here that are all contributing factors in a.c.e aesthetics hitting every time: colour theory, silhouette, and pattern matching. alright let's go!
colour theory
so i won't explain all of colour theory because i’m not as good as i should be with the actual theory, but here’s the basics. colours are divided into groups: primary, secondary, and tertiary. here’s a fun diagram i stole from google:

in centre you have the primary colours (red/blue/yellow), then you have the secondary colours, made from mixing the primary colours (orange/green/violet), and then the tertiary colours are made from mixing the primary and secondary colours (yellow orange/red orange/red violet/blue violet/blue green/yellow green). there are some commonly associated schemes that are known to ‘look good’ to the human eye:
complementary, where you pair two colours directly opposite each other on the wheel (red/green, blue/orange, purple/yellow)
analogous, which is a base colour with accents from the colours directly next to it (red base, orange/violet accent),
triadic - either base colour with accent colours equidistant from it (green/orange/violet), or base colour with split complementary (violet base, yellow green/yellow orange accent)
tetradic - this is essentially a combination of two or more of the previous, usually a double complementary or an analogous triad with a complimentary accent (red/green with red violet/yellow green, orange/blue with yellow orange/blue violet)
now there’s a lot more getting into tone, value, and saturation, but these are the basic hue combinations that we most commonly see. kpop styling sometimes veers wildly from these rules, but they aren’t hard and fast so it usually isn’t a big deal. plus a lot of styling is supposed to be a bit visually overwhelming anyways, so i’m not exactly counting it against anyone. but what makes a.c.e’s styling look so nice, even though it often isn’t that complicated, is that they always stick to a specific palette. like i went all the way back through their instagram and ALL their public appearances are coordinated:
Tumblr media
even their dance practice videos, of all things!
Tumblr media
this is especially true with their performance costumes:
Tumblr media
i'm not saying anything really revolutionary here, most groups get colour matching down correctly, but a.c.e's stylists have really nailed down matching the tone and saturation as well as the hue. here's a couple of examples from concept photos:
Tumblr media
complementary - full saturation green base, desaturated red (pink) as accent
analogous - full saturation violet, pink, and magenta with desaturated and black accents
triadic - all desaturated
complementary - full saturation red base, varying degrees of desaturation for accent colours
this is fun, let's do some more! this time from their performance costumes:
Tumblr media
analogous (monochrome) - full saturation yellow green, desaturated accents
tetradic (analogous with complementary accent) - full saturation red, desaturated violet/red/blue, desaturated green as accent)
triadic (equidistant) - full saturation red/blue with desaturated yellow, desaturated accents
tetradic (double complementary) - full saturation red/green as main pair, desaturated blue/orange as secondary pair, full saturation yellow as accents
starting to see it? you can do this with pretty much any of their styling; i've watched a lot of their performances and i don't think i've seen a single one that didn't follow a really strict colour palette. (ok there were like two savage stages that were not quite as good, but you can tell the stylist was trying to bring them in line with the current 4th gen styling and it didn't work so it didn't last).
costume colours and lighting
this is an important aside in relation to the mvs. whoever edits their mvs is really good at colouring. a big part of colour theory is tone, which is how 'warm' or 'cool' a colour is. it's super important in lighting; the colour wheel is split in half, with yellow through red-red violet categorized as warm, and yellow green through blue and violet as cool. a really easy way to visualize this in lighting is through the light from different types of lightbulbs: led lights are cool toned (they are often slightly bluish), and old style halogen lights are warm toned (they are amber tinged). tones are a thing that kpop videos seem to have a fleeting relationship with; sometimes they're used effectively and sometimes they are not. a big thing that a lot of kpop mvs do is really quickly switch tones in colouring, without connecting the intentions of the colours. here's some examples: ateez's fireworks mv, and oneus' no diggity mv. the fireworks mv has this really weird desaturated balance between warm and cool tones specifically in the interior shots, where they somehow managed to overblow both at the same time, which ends up making it look like they were trying really hard to make a cool tone yellow. you can actually feel your eyes relax in that first shot that takes them outside, because the balance is much more natural. and the no diggity mv.... i love it but it's so chaotic. everything is on high saturation all the time and there's no real limitation on the palette, established connection between colours or arc in the colour story, so the cuts between colours and shots feel more random than intentional. now lets look at some a.c.e mvs in comparision, first: undercover. for starters there's an immediate establishement of red and white/black, with a mild green accent. then it continues to a stronger green/teal, with brown as an extension of red (same undertone). there's a colour shift at the first chorus, where they are in the analogous full saturation violet/pink outfits that i mentioned previously, but they actually desaturate and de-value the hues with edit in order to have it match the tone of the room. the second colour shift is for the second rap break, with byeongkwan and wow in yellow main on black and white backgrounds, but that same level of yellow saturation only appears at the rap break specifically, it's absent from the rest of the mv. and then there's a third colour shift on the last chorus, where they pump up the blue and magenta in order to emphasize the climax of the song.
second, for something a bit crazier: goblin. it follows almost the same pattern as undercover; starting with a strong establishment of red/white/black, but then it jumps into full saturation green and teal as the other main colours. again there's a colour switch at byeongkwan's second rap break, and after than we start to see that deeper saturation blue and pink/purple more, but the main colours are still red/white/black.
ok that's enough about colour, now let's talk about
silhouette
this is maybe a little bit more vague and difficult to describe, but whatever. silhouette is pretty much exactly the way it sounds, it's the overall shape of the body. clothing and body type play equal roles in how silhouette is perceived, but clothing can do a lot to either disguise or transform the body. now there isn't really that much variation in body type in kpop; it's a microcosm of small differences between a lot of very fit people, which has been normalized as "default" by society at large for the last while. i'm not going to get into body politics here, because we all know that kpop dudes are not the median average male body type, but they are for the sake of what we've been socialized to think of as looking attractive so the rest of this is going to operate from that assumption. and when you have five dudes who are pretty smack in the middle of that slight variation (none of them are the largest nor the thinnest, they're all about the same middling height), you've got pretty much free reign to put them in whatever you want and they'll still look hot. kpop styling has a dubious relationship to actual wearable clothing, but it is all costuming so it's not necessary for it to be wearable everyday clothing. but since view in 2015 there's been a dramatic increase in "normal" clothing as performance costume, and the thing about normal contemporary clothing is that it's actually very difficult to style in a convincing way. because it's the trends that the general public is the most familiar with, it's the easiest for them to pick apart where the flaws are. this is all preface to say that there are often common silhouettes that are popular with specific trends. in 2012-2013 there was that sweater tucked into circle skirt with big scarf trend, in the 2007 was like baggy everything and layered tshirts, etc, and 2018-2019 was big colourful patterned shirts. sound familiar? it should, take me higher came out in summer 2018! now there's a debate here (like with most pop culture and celebrity) whether or not kpop is following trends or setting them, and both points are true, but personally i'm of the opinion that kpop is kind of a median between the two; it's not setting trends because it's often taking directly from the fashion industry and/or other popular culture, but it is popularizing them in a way that said trend may not have otherwise. there's a lot of digressions in this section but i'm hoping this will help you see my point.
using take me higher as a specific example, you can clearly see that a.c.e is sticking to a specific silhouette within the group, which is a boxy/loose upper with a fitted lower. which you can see really clearly in this stage, this stage, this stage, this stage, and honestly pretty much every stage for this comeback. sometimes they'll have a slight variation where one of them is wearing a longer shirt, but otherwise it's pretty consistent. this is actually a really common silhouette for them, because it puts emphasis on their specific style of choreo, which is fast footwork. you can see it to the extreme in their main cactus styling, which goes the whole nine yards, fully making their legs the focus and going so far as to embellish them:
Tumblr media
this silhouette also shows up for callin', where they're wearing boxy hip cut bomber jackets, and for the majority of the undercover styling, which is cropper military(ish) jackets. and it's shaping up to be similar for higher, so i'll talk more about it when i get there.
they have a consistant look for the goblin stages too, which is hanbok over a tight fitted underlayer. each of their hanbok are different cuts, which you can see with wow's cropped jacket and skirt combo, but it makes the same shape as the others. and in the goblin mv, most of their looks take a traditional silhouette and pair it with modern fabrics and patterns, and combining modern accessories with modernized traditional ones.
sticking to an internal silhouette is not the common mode for most boy group stylings at the moment. there's usually an adhesion to a specific colour scheme, but i have not noticed the same kind of care taken to silhouette. there's usually an adhesion to a member specific shape, but the general shape of the group is not usually as considered. you can see it in ateez's fireworks styling (yes i'm going to use it again, the styling was very weird and i never really talked about how weird it is). in the intro you've got tight pants, loose pants, short jackets, suit jackets, AND a long jacket. and then it's the same kind of variety in the rest of their outfits. if anyhting i'd say the emphasis was meant to be on shoulders, because of the point choreo; and yunho, hongjoong, san, and wooyoung all have some kind of shoulder padding, but that's only half the group. and the stage outfits are not any better. there's the infamous ketchup packet outfit, this naruto themed styling, this inexplicable bdsm football themed styling, and whatever this snakeskin theme is meant to be. it's all over the place! there's some performer specific shapes (hongjoong with the shoulder pads and hip length jacket, san with crop top, yeosang sleeveless) but if you were to just look at the shape of the outfits regardless of colour and pattern, you'd have no way to tell if they were all in the same group.
ok now lastly, let's quickly talk about
pattern matching and texture
this section won't be as long, but i wanted to cover it because even though it's a small and subtle thing, it does a lot in the visual long run. the general rule with patterns is that you don't combine patterns of the same size. this is kind of hard to explain without a visual reference so here's a few examples:
Tumblr media
(not my photos, these are from scott schuman's blog the sartorialist)
small check, even smaller pinstripe
mid-size print on pant, large print on scarf
small shirt stripe, mid-size print on tie, mid-large print on scarf
small print on zip jacket, mid-size on scarf, large plaid on jacket
like all fashion and like everything else i've talked about here, this isn't a hard and fast rule, but it does generally look the most harmonious. a.c.e really nails this in the take me higher stages, which you can see here:
Tumblr media
(in addition to using different pattern sizes, they're using different colours as well to make it less visually busy)
(bonus! see if you can name the type of colour stories!)
the goblin stages utilize a combination of texture and pattern matching, where the hanbok are a mix of different fabrics (raw silk, embroidered satin, organza) with different patterns, overtop plain underlayers, or when they aren't in hanbok their outfits are very heavily embellished to add visual interest, but are unpatterned fabrics.
in conclusion: good and cohesive colour stories, emphasis on uniform silhouettes and variety in patterns and textures. they also are very specific with accessories, and use them to emphasize key features.
ok! i think that's all i want to cover for this post, because this is already so long. but i've started on the write up for higher already, so i might get into some of my points here in more detail because i'll be talking about one specific thing instead of like......all of it.

not attaching the link but I saw a twt criticizing ty for outshining the mebers with choreo ....comon.. .it's ty..he was born to do that...sometimes I really dont get the fans...
anyway I want to ask about mark..did he ever outshined the members with the choreo?? I mean as an artist I respect and admire him...he works hard..his rap is powerful and also he dance well too...but I never get the feelings that he have an impactful aura in dancing..for me jae has it sometimes , when mark is better than him..u knw what I mean is right...even if he dances he cant take full control over the stage..ty can just stand there and make the whole stage his....even dy who is far from all mebers of 127 in dancing gives me the vibe of a charismatic personality when he performs on stage...ofcrs I knw mark is way better than anyone I mentioned..I am not trying to demeaning him with his skills..but u knw like sometimes his face overpower whatever hairstyle nd colour he is having...with his face I cant notice his hairstyles nd colour..that much power his face can hold..but why there is no an overall impression or the power of stage controll..if he is ur bias or bias of any readers here please dont be offended I am just sharing my thoughts....thankyou...
I think this is a question for those who learn dance.
Personally, I can't name such a case. (Maybe in Dream?) He is very withdrawn in himself when he dances, head low, he is not projecting to the audience. He is more noticeable and commanding as a rapper, he is good with power stances (like in Resonance).
Many people who do dance rankings place him above Taeyong. As I understand, he has clean lines, his movements are sharp, the footwork, and other technical things. But then again, it seems to me (street, hip-hop and other modern genres) dancers respect the control of the body, groove, tricks, difficulty, musicality, creativeness (and Mark can freestyle some). Meanwhile the commonfolk like us are more attracted to stage presence, personal flavour, small details with hands Taeyong does or fluidity of the body, foxy smiles, sexyness Ten shows. Or Doyoung's facial expressions as of late, pointed hand gestures during his solo parts.
Personally, I'm not into dancing as an artform or a kind of sport (something cool to show off). Maybe it's because I'm a zoologist with love for animals, but I'm most captivated with the power in the movement, agility, hand gestures. For that reason I like Chinese traditional dance. And for the same reason I enjoy Jaehyun. Like he shines in the front of the final Resonance line-up. All power and vigor. I will prefer k-pop dances like this one to the type WayV sometime does (with all the unnessesary "story telling" movements).
Mark is very boyish, same as his face, he doesn't really change. In any concept his true self shines through. And a boy is not a king. He lacks gravitas. Remember how many times it took him to do that scene with red revolvers for the Sticker MV? Heh. Mark can do evil, for example (his Super M promos, eh, I miss the group...), but that off stage, before the camera, as an actor.
I guess with dancing it is his eagerness? diligence? I don't know wich word to choose to describe... anyway, "he is doing his best, 100% energy" that what I get from the way Mark dances and performs. There is little room for artisticity. He moves from one move to another without a pause. Taeyong, on the other hand, sprinkles everything with some creations, ideas. A smirk here, a twirl there, a play with fingers or a fleeting facial expression. That's why he draws attention.
As shy as Tae is, on the stage he turns into another being. Mark stays himself.
