bluer birthday — yang jungwon.

synopsis. one last picture means one last chance to travel back in time to bring your dead boyfriend, yang jungwon back. but when you go back in time, you find yourself landing mere seconds before the crash that took your boyfriend’s life. with only a little time to spare, you find yourself needing to make a decision.

authors note. this is long overdue😅 i was supposed to post this like a week after i posted the original blue birthday fic, but… here i am now with the alternate ending! happy birthday jungwon 😅 and don’t worry i didn’t just post angst for his bday😭 there is a sequel to kiss and cry that is full of fluff if you’d like to read that too !! but in the meantime, enjoy the alternate ending to blue birthday ^_^

ONE. present day, 2026.

You hold the last photo in your hands as Youngeun looks at you nervously.

Your hands tremble a little as you look at the picture – you know that this is your last shot at bringing Jungwon back. You have tampered with the past, present and the future too much, and you know that there could be serious consequences. Regardless, you would do anything for Jungwon.

“You only have one chance,” Youngeun tells you.

You let out a shaky breath as you look at her. “Yeah. I do. This is my last shot.”

“When you burn the picture, it should bring you back to when the photo was taken, right?” Youngeun asks, and you nod. At least, that’s what happened the last couple of times when you went back in time. You can only hope that the same thing happens this time.

“Do you need any extra details?” Youngeun asks.

“No,” you say, gazing at the photo. “It’s okay.”

You remember every single second. How could you not, when you watched the person that you cared about the most die right in front of your very eyes. Every year on your birthday, you are reminded of the scene, and you want nothing but to erase it from your memory.

“Good luck,” Youngeun says. “We’ll be waiting for you when you both are back.”

“Thank you, Youngeun.” you smile at your friend. “I think I’m going to need it.”

“Don’t hurt yourself while you’re there,” she tells you.

You nod, before you light the candle, taking one last look at the picture before holding it above the fire, letting the photo burn it away.

TWO. the day of the accident, 2021.

You open your eyes walking across a street that looks all too familiar.

You turn to look at who’s standing next to you, and it’s Jungwon. But something doesn’t seem right. The photo didn’t bring you back to when the photo was taken – you woke up in a completely different moment from the same day, and it’s only when you see the name of the street when you realise what’s going on.

Jungwon is mere seconds away from getting killed from that car.

Your eyes widen in fear, shaking your head. “No, no, no.” you mumble, trying not to startle Jungwon. You look to your right, and you see the dreaded car plate that is engraved into your memory. 52 3018.

You take a quick look at your watch, and it’s like time slows down when you read the time on your watch. 7:07, and there’s 30 seconds until the crash. The car is moving faster and faster towards you and Jungwon, and you know you can’t just yank Jungwon’s arm and pull you both away from the crash.

Your heart sinks as you come to the realisation that it’s either you, or him.

And you can’t lose him again.

The car moves closer and closer, and you know in just a few seconds, Jungwon’s about to be hit. “Wonie, I’m sorry.” you say hurriedly, blinking back the tears in your eyes before you push him towards the opposite side of the street, out of harm’s way.

Flashing lights. Loud car honks. And this time, it is your body that the car collided with.

You fall to the ground, feeling nothing but pain everywhere in your body — you’re bleeding, you’re sure of it. You pant as you lie there, and you hear Jungwon’s loud scream when he realises what just happened to you. “No, no, no.” Jungwon shakes his head as he rushes over to be by your side.

“(Name)? (Name)? Look at me, look at me please.” Jungwon says, his hands clutching yours desperately.

You look up at him weakly, with a small, sad smile. “I’m sorry, Won.”

“Please don’t leave me, (Name). Just hold on, we’re getting help.” Jungwon says, his lower lip quivering as he holds onto you tightly. His hands are stained with blood, your blood, but he is too focused on your state to notice.

“There’s no use, Jungwon. You and I both know I’m not going to make it out alive.” you choke out, and Jungwon shakes his head. “You’ll make it. I know you will.” he says, and you smile sadly.

“I know I won’t. Jungwon… I know how this ends. I’m from the future.” you say, and you can feel yourself getting weaker and weaker. “I’m the (Name) from 5 years later. It was originally you who died in this crash. I went back in time to try and save you… but I failed.”

“Why didn’t you let it be me, (Name)? It should’ve been me.” Jungwon says, holding back a choked sob. “Why?”

“I couldn’t lose you again.”

“But now I’m losing you.”

“I know… I’m sorry. I wanted it to end with you and me being able to spend more time together. Fate wasn’t in our favour, I guess.” you say, and Jungwon knows that he’s going to lose you soon. Your breathing is more laboured, and he knows you’re fighting to keep your eyes open, because if you close them, you don’t know if you’ll ever get to open them again.

“You’ll be okay, (Name). You’ll make it.”

Jungwon says it as if he’s just trying to convince himself. He knows deep in his heart that he’ll be losing you today, and there’s nothing he can do to try and reverse it. But oh, how he wished he could.

“Can you just… talk to me?” you say, looking at him, tears brimming your eyes. Jungwon squeezes your hand, brushing your hair out of your face — and that is when he realises that your blood is on his hands.

Tears roll down his cheeks, but he tells himself he shouldn’t start properly sobbing until you go.

“Okay.” he says. “Today is your birthday. I was going to give you a surprise party. Intak, Youngeun, Hikaru, and all your other friends would be there, and I even got Maeumi a party hat for you.”

You smile at his words.

“I have plans for tomorrow, too. We’ll go to the Han River, have a picnic, and watch a movie on my iPad. We could walk Maeumi at the park, too.”

Jungwon pulls one tiny box out of his pocket. “This is your birthday gift, he tells you, opening the box. There are two silver rings inside, and Jungwon pulls one of them out.

“I got us promise rings.” he says, and your smile gets wider. He slips it onto your finger, and you smile, trying your best to look at it even though you can feel yourself starting to slip away.

“I love you.” he says, blinking back tears. “I always will.”

“I love you too,” you whisper back, and Jungwon tries his best to smile. He has to be strong in this moment for you. He doesn’t want the last thing you see to be him sobbing. He wants you to feel at peace.

“I’ll find my way back to you.” Jungwon whispers, bringing your hand up to his face to kiss the promise ring. There’s a small smile on your lips, and then your hand falls limp.

You’re gone.

And that’s when Jungwon completely loses it.

He lets the dam break. He’s crying and screaming like he’s never before. It’s right then when the ambulance arrives, and when the paramedics tell him that he needs to let go, he just drowns out the sound, with the only thing he can hear being his own cries.

Jungwon is forcefully separated from you when one of the paramedics pulls him away from your body, as he kicks, screams and writhes in the man’s grip. The paramedic sets him down on a nearby park bench, patting Jungwon on the back as the boy cries.

“I know no matter what I say, it still won’t take away the pain you are feeling. It’s very hard to lose someone, especially someone who you held very close to your heart.” the paramedic says. “But, I’m very sorry for your loss.”

“It was supposed to be me.” Jungwon sobs. “I should’ve been the one who got hit. And now I’ve lost her.”

“She saved your life. She’s a hero.” the paramedic tells him.

“I thought we would have more time together. It’s her birthday today. Or… was.” Jungwon chokes out through sobs. You’re gone now, so he supposed that he has to refer to you in past tense. But he doesn’t want to. “We were going to her surprise party that I organised for her.”

“I’m sure she would have loved it.” the paramedic tells him.

“I wish she could’ve seen it.” Jungwon says, wiping his tears with his sleeve. He then notices that your blood is still on his hands, and his sobs get even louder.

The paramedic pats his back in an attempt to comfort him. “You’ll be okay, kid. You’ll be okay.”

Despite what the paramedic says, Jungwon feels like he won’t be okay.

He doesn’t know if he ever will be.

THREE. present day, 2027.

“Happy birthday, Jungwon!”

It has been 6 years since you left. Jungwon has never liked his birthday celebrations after your passing, only indulging in them because his friends spent so much time preparing it all for him.

“Thank you guys.” Jungwon says, mustering up a smile.

Intak tells him to blow out his candles. “Make a wish!”

Jungwon wishes for you to come back.

It has been his wish every single year since your passing. Yet, every single year, it doesn’t seem to come true. Jungwon knows that he should move on — it’s what you would have wanted, but he finds that he can’t.

Every hour, every minute, every second, his mind is consumed with the thought of you. Wondering if he can bring you back, thinking about all the fun things that you two could do if you were still here, and praying to whoever’s up there to take pity on him, and bring you back.

“I got you a little something, Jungwon.” Intak says, pulling out a gift bag from behind him. He hands it to Jungwon, who accepts it with a small smile. “Thank you, Intak.” he says.

He opens the bag to reveal a box. It’s a necklace, with a butterfly chain necklace. “It was (Name)‘s. I got it for her birthday last year, before she decided to… you know. Go back in time. I figured that you might want it.”

Jungwon looks at the necklace with a sad smile. “She really liked it, didn’t she?”

“Loved it.”

“I know every year doesn’t get easier for you,” Intak says, and Jungwon nods. “It doesn’t get easier for us either. We didn’t know she had this whole plan to bring you back… until she wa gone. And I say this every year, but you’ve got to stop blaming yourself for her passing.”

“I know.” Jungwon replies. “It’s hard not to, though.”

“I get it.” Intak says, pressing his lips into a thin line. “Healing is a process. It takes time.”

“I got you something too,” Youngeun suddenly pipes up. She pulls out a box from behind her, setting it on the table. She pushes it towards Jungwon, who opens it hesitantly.

There are a bunch of film pictures of you and Jungwon. They look like the one he took back in high school, but since he’s in it, he couldn’t possibly have taken it.

“You were not the only photographer in high school.” Youngeun says. “These are photos that our lovely Hikaru took of you two. We found her old camera, and then we found these photos and got them developed. Thought you would like to see them.”

Jungwon smiles as he flicks through the photos, each of them bringing him back in time. He sees picture after picture of you looking at him with the brightest smile, your eyes practically sparkling as you gaze at him lovingly.

Jungwon would give anything to see you look at him like that again.

Every single year, on not only your birthday but also his, he has blamed himself for your passing. You had gone back in time to try and stop the event that had killed him in the original timeline, but it only led to that event killing you instead.

He desperately wishes for you to still be here. Every birthday celebration reminds him of the one that he had organised just before your passing, the one that you were mere minutes away from seeing before your life was taken.

The healthy thing for Jungwon to do is move on.

So on the 6th anniversary of your death, and also your birthday, Jungwon heads to your grave, holding a small cake in a box and a bouquet of cherry blossoms – your favourite flowers. He sits down on the grass, pulling the photos that Hikaru had taken back in high school out of his bag.

“It’s been 6 years since you left.” Jungwon says out loud. He hopes you can hear him. “It’s also your birthday.” He opens the box, taking out the cake. He takes a lighter out of his bag, lighting the candle. “Happy birthday, (Name).”

He sings you the happy birthday song quietly, setting the cake down on the lid of the box. “I miss you. I hope you’re celebrating your birthday happily.” he says, a bittersweet smile on his lips.

“Every year doesn’t get easier,” he confesses. “Is this how you felt before you had gone back in time to try and save me?”

He asks a question he knows he won’t get an answer to.

“I would do anything to bring you back. Maybe I should try what you did. Maybe Hikaru’s pictures can bring me back in time too.” Jungwon says, looking at the picture. The flame on the candle flickers, and for a split second, Jungwon debates on burning one of the photos to see if it can bring him back.

He stays silent for a little while, staring sadly at your headstone. There’s a bunch of other flowers placed around it, which Jungwon deduces must be from your family and other friends who came earlier.

Jungwon takes a look at the promise ring on his finger. For a second, the candle on the cake flickers, and for a split second, Jungwon sees a photo being held above a fire, with the picture being slowly burnt away. He blinks quickly a couple of times, and the vision is gone.

He looks at the candle once again, and then he looks at the picture held in his hands.

Without a second thought, Jungwon holds the picture above the flame.

The only thought in Jungwon’s mind as he watches the picture burn away is that he hopes that his birthday wish for the past 6 years can come true.

29. What’s something about your writing that you’re proud of?

Okay actually you and I were talking about this last night: I am incredibly proud about how much of a punch I can pack into a drabble or a double drabble. Some of my favourite comments to receive are "how did 100 words make me this happy/sad/horny" lmfao. Flash and micro fiction is a legit skill and it's one that I really think I've honed.

49. What fic of yours would you say is the best introduction to you as a writer?

Oh good lord. I'm going to say How much love will you happily take aka hung!sub!virgin!Patrick for SC and for similar reasons, Bukkake Breaky Heart for RWRB: Either of those fics would prepare you well for my tendency towards the psychology of kink, the trust and love that underpins my characters when they're into something a little left of vanilla, and how into my POV characters' heads I like to delve.

Hi!!! I'm so sorry if I just kinda jump out of the blue but I couldn't resist join the "discussion in your aks...

You know I think that fan art wise helaena and aemond are quite cute. Some artist are so talented but helaena in my opinion deserve and should definitely be alone. She went trought so much and mainly for the hand of men leave my poor girl alone. Most fans def use her as self insert or are into incest idk 🥴

For the Alys discourse I'm gonna be so honest with you I have absolutely no idea. I Emma I rceentrly reread the books (gift for Xmas so it's very recent) and a lot of person forgot that one book is like a book in their universe and everthing is basically a rumor (I will not trust mushroom with a cup of tea so why would I trust a whole story??) and the other are just paragraphs that talk about some events??

Hotd aemond is so dutiful and golden child and he lust for Revenge of his eye so fans are like "he would never go for a bastard strong!!" saying that she's or this bitch of a witch or a poor victim. The reality is that we don't know!! We have no idea it's up our preference / writer choice.

Sure I tought alys bewitching him was a valid idea because why would he save only her??? But also I mean if she's a witch she can be useful?? And maybe they just fall in love in the process??? At the beginning both of them had reason to help each other so idk. I use to not be a big fan of their relationship because I will admit when deep in hyperfixations I get jealous and I need a few days to remind myself they are fictional 😭 also It doesn't help reading angst fic with the cheating trope and her as the other woman BUT the moment I saw people hating her for non valid reason and just using her as an excuse for being sexists and mysoginist ughhh alys defender for life.

I will wait to see how the writer will do in season 2. Making her bewitching him after him being already victim of abuse would def a bad choice but also for how they written season 1 i really can't see this show aemodn juts fall in love it's so weird I'm so confused 😭🥴

One last thing I swear I'm so sorry but saying that aemond is a rapist/used her as prize....AND USING THE WHOREHOUSE EXAMPLE???

I’ve run into absolutely amazing Helaemond art! There’s no question fan artists are talented. I don’t mind shippers as long as they don’t insert themselves into other ship spaces and try acting holier than thou. At the end of the day, none of this is real and we’re just here to have a good time 😁

If they go with “she bewitched him” but just figuratively speaking then I’m fine with that. But if they pull that love potion bs then… 😅 also, why bother fleshing Aemond out if you’re just going to turn him into a cliché antagonist…… I hope they don’t go this route tbh.

Mushroom is the absolute worst out of all the narrators. He gives accounts of events that happened in King’s Landing when he was in Dragonstone LOL he thinks he’s Gossip Girl or something

Fire & Blood is to be read a history book, meaning we only know about the great battles and major events, but everything in between can be embellished and made up by those writing about it. Some people are taking that what happens in the book is canon and others are taking what happens in the show as canon… both are wrong approaches… they’re just different versions. This is not like ASOIAF…

U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.

bsd: gonna shock everyone i know..... nikolai :) his vibes are just impeccable. i love his whole view of life and what he does in hopes to achieve his impossible goal. i love that he's crazy cuuhraaaayyzeeee asylum but also is he. keeping us on our toes. and most importantly he is FUN every time he's around you can't help but have a good time even tho he's like, gruesomely murdering someone (i mean for me it's also part of the fun but eh)

fire emblem: ferdinand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he is just. ough. he is so dear to me. he fills my heart with joy and warmth i can't explain it. he has such a good and lovely arc and despite suffering and losing so much he remains positive through it all and tries his best to help others. and he's also just! very fun! like with nikolai every time he's on screen is just enjoyable, usually p funny, or very touching :')

persona: akechi. he makes me insane. esp in royal he's a very well written and interesting character imo, his motivations are illogical in a logical way (as in. they're illogical but you can perfectly understand why), he is so so tragic. and once again like the last 2, he is just so so fun, esp in third sem where he lets loose and becomes more violent and vulgar and sassy :)

tbh i wasn't sold on fyolai at first (which is probably shocking to those who haven't followed me when i first got into bsd lol) but creantzy's art convinced me of it ngl :P also the anthology art bc i mean. yeah

dazai and atsushi........ hits me very deep in my soul........... it's so dear to me it means so much to me............ i can't even put it in words bc it simply makes me overflow with too much emotion at once

ig when it comes to fandoms. one big pet peeve i have is the amount of negativity ppl have around the source material?

criticism is valid and understandable and no media is free of it, but some people really spend almost all their time in a certain fandom doing nothing but hating it and its creator (biggest example is the bnha fandom is 2017ish. i swear most posts i saw abt it were hate posts from people who were still following the manga religiously)

not to mention the version of this that's like ignoring canon completely and making up new personalities for the characters in an attempt to make them non-problematic and such. pls just make ocs

like at some point i can't help but wonder why they're still reading it?? please move on to different things? if not for your own well being then for other fans bc i don't wanna see your negativity when i'm trying to be excited over smth i like 😭

(also true abt ppl who hate a character/ship and spend more time talking abt how much they hate it than talking abt the ones they do like, or worse, leaving mean comments on posts/fics made by ppl who do like it. yes that includes "problematic" ships or characters. complaining here and there is chill ofc but you gotta move on at some pointtttttt just block the tags or ppl who post a lot of it come on)

but fr it's mostly for you. esp if you're someone who doesn't have a lot of free time, why are you spending so much of it on something you're not even enjoying? i just don't get it 😔 you shouldn't take sunk cost fallacy into account when it comes to your joy i think

so I used to be rly into MASH like a solid decade ago so my memory of it isn't great, but that time loop post sparked a memory of a groundhog day fic that I was convinced I had read back in the day, but furious searching unearthed nothing and I was losing my mind a bit because I swear I had read a fic just like that!!

anyway I just now realized the fic I was thinking of was in fact a Band of Brothers fic so. that happened.

but this fruitless search did lead me to discover the sheer volume of MASH fic that's on ao3 now so all this is to say, do you have any recs?

Wow I love this story. I've had that experience too though so you're not alone 😭

Now I have to apologize for this response taking a while, I've been busy the last couple days and wanted to take care in compiling this list.

There's quite a collection of hunnihawk fics on AO3 and I have gone through all of them because I don't have any self control. So yes I do have a few recs! You won't see any pwp fics in here, I'm the type who reads fanfiction for the plot lol so keep that in mind. These are in no particular order btw, and I'm sure my list will expand over time but for right now these are my top favourites.

I won't have comments for all fics and for that I apologize. Some of these are incredibly long and I don't have the time to re-read them and collect my thoughts. Whether there's a comment or not doesn't reflect the quality of the fic, only reflects the sieve like quality of my mind and how it cannot hold onto information for more than five minutes.

HUNNICUTE'S HUNNIHAWK FIC RECS:

First off I am going to mention my absolute all time fav hunnihawk fic. Let me tell you, it took me by surprise because for mash fics I really don't enjoy mash aus as a concept (I think their relationships and personalities are really reliant on their circumstances) HOWEVER the film noir genre lends itself to mash very well. So I cannot recommend highly enough tallsinspace's hunnihawk noir au, if you don't read anything else on this list (tho please do!!!) you have to give this one a try:

She’s in a fashionable little black number that she fills out marvelously under a shorter winter coat, a string of pearls wrapped around her neck.

She looks like trouble. You smirk. Just your type.

“Welcome to Blake & Pierce investigations, how may I help you?” you greet in your most professional tone.

“First, you can pop those eyes back in their sockets, gumshoe,” she says flatly. “I didn’t come here to be leered at.”

In which Private Investigator Hawkeye Pierce gets in too deep with a couple of married blondes, runs up against some trouble, and makes a series of panic-fueled decisions. Story of his life.

I usually find it difficult to talk about exactly what I like about fics I read and recommend, however this one really lends itself to comment. Not only are the characters extremely well written, but the plot and situations are as well. This is the kind of story you find yourself paying attention to every word. Also this includes Hawk playing with gender, it works so well and feels incredibly true to character. Really well done.

Nostos; or, the Journey Home by Anonymous

Rating: M, Words: 65,903

The last place Hawkeye expects BJ's journey home to end is his own front steps

This one is special for me. Not only was it the first BJ goes to Maine fic I read, but the first MASH fic I actually read! Yeah it had had an impact, I couldn't read anything else for a day or two after because I remember I was thinking about it non-stop.

But really my favourite part of this fic is BJ's reaction. Gotta love angsty moment's fuelled by our favourite repressee from California. Also if you couldn't tell, I'm very much in love with talls' writing.

Part character study, part experimental non-linear narrative, part a place for me to project and put all my unnecessarily specific headcanons in one place, today we’re taking a trip through hawkeye’s chaotic train of thought after being asked a simple question: “tell me about the bus.”

This one has a strong sense of melancholy to it, and I mean that in a very positive way. I found myself really sucked into Hawk's feelings when reading it. If you want something immersive and introspective, this one's for you.

Yes, this is another noir AU, and it is very different from the last and just as incredibly well done. I especially love the way the relationship between Peg and BJ is portrayed here. And Erin <3 the way that both BJ and Hawkeye take care of her!! I just really love fics that pay attention and include BJ's love for his daughter and his goodness as a father.

Hi 👋 I have been a new followers since abt 3-4 days n I wanted to let u know that I'm in love with HOLD YOUR BREATH - honestly, the way u have written r every single word 😔👏 u have me hooked.

On the other hand _ the deaths devastated me _ Jake bcoz he gas been through thick n thin with the mc and Sunoo bcoz .... well, he is Sunoo 😭🤌 like who the hell tries to hurt him come fight me istg 🤜

No but really, Sunoo was my last straw. He didn't even have much screentime (?) and yet he is one of my favs if not my fav (pls I think I can go on n on abt why he is my fav but I think I should stop here).

As for her girl best friend ............................lmaooo.

What the hell is up with her 🤚💀 I swear at this point if she saw a dead body n Minho passing by it _ the first thing she would inform would probably be "I saw prof Minho".

No but seriously what is up with her .... her best friend is being stalked by a psycho ...... why is she so chill ?

I read the post where u said that the whole friend grp was the definition of id ego n superego _ her being the id which means immediate gratification without thinking abt any consequences. I'm kinda just baffled at this cause if I were her (id) I'd follow her like a shadow, I'd even follow her to the washroom (that's what I mean by doing anything without thinking abt the consequence) _ seriously tho, I'd be worried n basically do anything for her not to be alone n then there's her 💀.

Infact it would have been better if it were her with the mc in place of Jake n Sunoo :

1) I'm assuming this is set in Korea (considering the majority of the characters) - n in Korea (or in almost all Asian countries) same sex relationships are non-existent (bcoz of the society), so when u see two girls together, the first thought will always be "oh they r friends" never "oh they r lovers".

2) The main reason why the stalker even thought of eliminating Jake n Sunoo bcoz they were men (opposite gender) n spent much time with the mc _ which the stalker automatically assumed bcoz they liked her romantically.

Other than that I love ur writing💖 _ I'm really not kidding, I waiting for this sick bastard to get caught, i'll be waiting 🥳

OK WOW that's an impressively long ask, it was truly a remarkable read.

I'm glad you liked the story, and hopefully it will retain its coherency as I write because sometimes it's just rambles on feelings for characters.

Sunoo really didn't get a lot of screentime, though, right? That's mostly just poor planning on my part, to be honest, there's a lot of timeskips in between because I was worried the story was dragging on for too long and not a lot of action was happening. I was planning in elaborating his character but then I have this really nasty habit of not sticking to my plot plan to a T...

Which I think comes to the next part about Sooji—like I mentioned earlier, I never really wanted her to go past a certain point, and she was always meant to be a window for the viewers to explain what happens that doesn't get written. Both Sooji and Soobin were supposed to play roles that allowed viewers to see what happens to the other characters that Y/N doesn't interact with. It was really meant for me as a cheat code to lay out some of the off-screen actions might not be accessible because of the limited point of view. I think part of it has to do with the fact that this isn't a written fic, adding on to the fact that I wanted this to be a solely Y/N-limited viewpoint (at least for the social media part, but I ended up breaking that so that was a hard pass.)

However, I think what you said really makes sense, I'll make a note of it the next time I write something like this again (I think I just need to do more research), and mostly because it's just poor storytelling on my part (and me starting this story without fully fleshing out the story from the get-go so there were a lot of changes that were made to the story as it progressed). I'll be fully sure to actually plan out my stories and make sure that characters stay relatable. Or rather, the next time around, I'll attempt a story that isn't so ambitious. This was a story that I had in mind for years, but only the major points of the story were determined, whereas the in-betweens were very vague...

I did also think of why Y/N wouldn't spend time with Sooji because she was afraid of Sooji getting hurt. The reason why was not because the stalker might see her as a potential love rival, but solely because the stalker would do anything to get anyone, regardless of that person is a man or a woman, out of the way. Jake was never considered as a romantic interest but because he was protective of her, he was killed. If Y/N were to stick to Sooji, then she, as a protector of Y/N, would have been in danger as well, not to mention Soobin, who is in the same boat, role-wise. I didn't have any intention of killing them off because they still have roles to play, but I guess it's just another page in a book now.

The id, ego, and superego were only meant to be decision making aspects, because for the three of them, Soobin was the mature one who was always protective, whereas Sooji was the one who would always enable Y/N to do just whatever. Perhaps if I had adjusted her role in the beginning to be a mere friend instead of a best friend, it would maybe make sense...or a superficial friend of sorts who's kinda flimsy in terms of her loyalty. Her role has been reworked a little bit, and there will be parts later on in the story to fill in the gaps that need filling, and I will explain why she acts the way she does as the story reaches its climax...

Whereas Soobin will be phased out.
