I finished a body study I was doing

did a body study of my lovely character terra

she wouldn’t nessarily wear this but I spent too long on the body to cover it up and also I wanted to draw her scars

also the water melon boardshorts are based off my board shorts

they are just cool and also too big T-T

up close details as that are hard to see without zooming in

Like adding stretch marks and body hair is fun

it adds ✨flavour✨ I spent way too long on the togs pattern

I need to do more body studies maybe finally make a ref for Cyrus

for the redesign miranda, i put her birthday at march 16th instead of miranda’s canon birthday (leap day). mostly this is just because i was working on my miranda stuff long before her official birthday was revealed and i needed a date to put it on, and my own birthday was just easiest to remember, since i have such bad memory problems.

i also just forgot to post the miranda birthday image on february 28th/march 1st this year because i was busy and depressed and you know how it goes.

so i’m wondering

if i did post said birthday meme tomorrow and put it in the tag, could i spread this as misinformation-

Fellas, I think I finally got (noir) Peter Parker's age.

Alright, I know what you may be thinking, that you've read posts like this before that basically end with "erm they say he's a kid so I uhh guess he's 19" (we've all thought this ngl).

Let us begin, shall we?

This mostly began because I hated Felicia and Peter together.

I love Peter's noir comics so much, everything Peter goes through is such awesome writing and symbolism (Peter swearing to take power away from people who abuse it and then ends up abusing his own power ahgdgsgdgag) but Felicia' and Peter's "love story" weirdo lust pedo sub plot gave me the major ick.

Tbh I got tired of people defending this ship because they "didn't know Peter's age". I really wanted to prove them wrong. So I am.

And I just want to know.

Let's boogy.

Peter is referred to as a kid numerous times.

Above are most of the times Peter is called/referred to as a kid in the first comic run (which was only three issues).

I couldn't fit all of them, gosh darn Tumblr.

Anyways, it's clear that Peter appears as a child to all of the character, due to all of them referring to his as a kid. Every character he interacts with as Peter Parker calls him "kid" or "son" or "boy" (etc.). He obviously appears as/is a kid, or they wouldn't have made it a point to keep saying this.

Okay, so this means Peter's a kid. We can eliminate all ages over 21 and under 12. You were considered an adult at age 21 (age of consent was 18- https://worldhistorycommons.org/age-consent-laws -). And I think we can all agree that Peter isn't 12.

My next idea was to turn to the original age of when most Peter Parkers were bit. The problem is, it's all at scattered ages. The most common one I found was he was bit at 15.

But is noir Peter Parker really 15? No. Bear with me.

I came to this conclusion and sank to the ground and cried out in agony. Truly noir Peter Parker's age was a mystery, I thought. So I gave up.

But I was rereading the comic, and noticed a tiny tiny detail I overlooked upon my past rereads.

Here is the comic panel where the Goblin dies via spidery-Kraven, and Peter just watches. While Peter is watching, he thinks back to the time Uncle Ben snuck him in to see Frankenstein.

Okay, there are two versions of Frankenstein Peter could be talking about here.

The first Frankenstein that ever came out was the 16 minute long version on March 18th, 1910. Now, that's way further back than I think Ben would've taken Peter to go see it, as AT MOST (if he's 21) Peter was born in 1912. It is possible Ben took Peter to see a rerun of the 1910 version, but reruns were incredibly rare and the 1910 version of Frankenstein was deemed to be lost until the 1950s (I don't know WHEN it was lost). If Peter was taken to see the 1910s version as a child it could have given him nightmares. But I really doubt this is the Frankenstein movie Peter was referencing.

The second movie is the one I believe to be the movie Peter saw with Ben. This Frankenstein came out on November 21st, 1931. It fits much more with the time line, and fits the whole "couple years back" things (a couple means two to you guys too, right??).

Okay, so we know the date of the movie that Ben snuck Peter into. But, there is one very important word in that sentence. Snuck.

Either, a- Peter wasn't old enough to see the movie,

Or b- Aunt May didn't want him to see the movie.

The 1931 Frankenstein revolutionized the horror movie genre, and brought with it an outrage from the church and adults. It was censored mercilessly, and brought around the "H" rating that deemed anyone under the age of 16 was too young to see. But this came as a result of Frankenstein, in 1932ish in Britian and 1934ish in America. So when did Peter see the movie?

This is where my argument gets flimsy.

We can assume he saw the uncensored version as it gave him nightmares, so I speculatate he saw it around the same time as it's release date.

Peter was under 16 when he saw the Frankenstein movie, due to Ben having to sneak him into the movie.

OR

Peter was freshly 16 and begged Uncle Ben to let him see the movie, he's old enough isn't he? And Ben can't say no to his nephew so they sneak around Aunt May to go and see it together.

Either of these two are plausible, but I'm going to go with the second.

Mostly all the Peter Parkers were born around August/October, so we'll keep that.

On November 21st, 1931 (or whenever he saw the movie) Peter Parker is 16 years old.

Which, one year later, makes him 17. And as the comics take place January 1933, we can make the safe assumption that Peter is 17. Which means in September, he's 18/about to turn 18.

He has compilation vids all over his watch history, whether its compilations of "Funny Fails 🤣🤣😂 LOL LMAO #TRENDING" or just a compliation of moments from a show or a game, even if he doesnt play the game or watch the show.

Random trivia google searches, mainly because he mightve seen something he didn't know and ended up googling it.

And then he falls down a rabbit hole of random trivia, ending up excitedly telling Asirpa all about it.

Definitely watches animal fail videos.

Probably gets addicted to Wordle.

Does Not Use Keywords When Googling to point it's a miracle that google can even interpret what she's saying. Who tf searches like "I put my shirt in the dryer and now it shrunk and now I want to know if I can reverse it".

Watches educational youtube channels about literally anything. She'll fall dowm that rabbit hole.

Secretly loves those online flash games but would never admit to it.

Ogata

It's fucking wiped clean, almost nothing is there.

He mostly just does typical ogata stuff like searching up really specific facts that could get the average person arrested for knowing.

And also cat videos :)

Oh and he most certainly does not use google, he opts for browsers that keep you super secure.

He probably has reddit just to spread misinformation honestly.

Tons of beauty guru channels definitely.

He also has a channel of his own which is also in his search history a lot.

Search history completely unorganized. Youll see pictures and vids he finds funny, links to online shopping sites, wikipedia articles on military icons and tactics, etc.

He also loves reading travel blogs and watching vlogs.

Is really fucking good at Wordle, Asirpa hates him for always being able to get it right.

Lots of miscellaneous journals and artciles open for him to read.

He has perused a lot through online libraries too.

Reads the fucking. News. Every day.

Ngl probably wouldnt google many things, and if anything his search history would be few and far in between.

But when he does search its things its so normal ?? Like "XXL clothing store near me" and "How to repair a broken air conditioning unit".

Gym websites and workout routine stuff. He maintains his build and I gotta respect that.

So here I am, gathering references for my Desmond study, as one does, and I reach AC3. I brace myself for impact because I have the original un-mastered version, and I find the remaster flattens the models too much and kinda, plastifies them?? which makes figuring out dimensions hard. So I gotta deal with, a lot of lighting and rendering bullshit instead. Fun all around.

I start the game and get to screenshooting, and I notice Desmond has some drastic pale palms going on. Like, oddly so. I shrug it off for now, but then I notice that Bill Miles also has them. And, Shaun? Some more gameplay in and we reach Haytham and, he has the same stark pale palms situation going on. Ngl, I'm baffled.

Speaking of averages and my own observations, people with pale skin don't get that stark pale palms even when they tan. They get some faint distinction, but it's mostly from a tanning gradient, the undersides of your arms don't get as exposed to sunlight so less tan. Meanwhile people with naturally brown skin do have distinct pale palms that clashes even with their own tanning gradient.

Now, I know for a fact Haytham doesn't have enough melanin in him to have naturally brown skin, that's a white man. He might not burn in the sun but c'mon, this feels too stark. Not only that, but the skintone just, don't match? Their hands are too red undertoned while Haytham's and Desmond's faces are much less so.

So I decide to do some digging. Now, I have no know-how on how to rip assets in games and god forbid, translate them to something like Blender. But I do know that machinimas were big back in the day, and that includes a lot of AC character models being used for gifs and videos and such, so I delve into DA for some model refs. And indeed, I find them, and...

Yeah, that's not the same skintone. And after looking at some other screenshots online, even in game the skintone is very much not a match. So what's up with that?

It turns out that as far as I can tell, Ubi did about three skintones (pale, brown and dark) for each gender, by modifying a base skin texture's levels or smth, thus why the palms are so stark. They used the same skintone for the native npcs, Connor, Haytham, Bill, and Desmond. Likewise, Ziio and Prudence share the same skin texture. Which, royally sucks for reference taking, despite being a fairly common game dev trick to shrink asset production.

Where am I going with this? Nowhere really, I'm simply annoyed. ACR very much whitewashed Desmond, but AC3 did um... something alright.

okay so i just wanna ramble about my inuokko fic, raw, since i'm taking years to write anything anyway :D

spoilers kinda?? below the cut?? i'm brainstorming half of it ngl so yeah idk open it at your own risk

the premise is basically this: this is set in japan, in our current decade. yuuta is financially poor, rents a lame apartment and still gets evicted from it. despite the law saying you need to give a 6-month notice, no one would apparently care about poor people (coughs am i being smooth enough with the social commentary coughs), so yuuta is given two weeks to find a new job and a new place to live. keep in mind, yuuta couldn't afford high school (you need to pay for high school in japan), his mom is clearly nowhere to be seen, and he always fails his job interviews.

ofc there's also an entire thing going on with food and sexual desire. yuuta struggles with both, they're linked to the entire story since food is actually used as a metaphor for other topics. ANYWAY this is so messy, i'm not trying to make it sound perfect so whatever.

yuuta does find a job!! he's going to be part of the cleaning staff at the sugawara palace, which is heavily inspired from the palais garnier in france: basically a school for opera singers, actors and ballet dancers, that also hosts actual shows. yuuta can have his own room at the palace, although hidden from the students, and that's just too good of an opportunity to pass on.

during his first day at work, yuuta is ignored by the students and understands there's a world between him and them. there also seems to be some hierarchy going on, but he doesn't try to learn about it. near the end of his shift, when there's only one room left to clean, he sees people inside and checks by the window: it's two persons, fucking inside the room. yuuta is shocked but can't look away; he locks eyes with the person on the receiving end. a violet gaze.

yuuta then realises that if he can see the person's eye colour, it means the person can also see him... and doesn't seem to mind, on the contrary. still, yuuta runs away to another corridor, and eventually hides until they're finished because he doesn't want to lose his job because he didn't clean a room. when he goes back inside the room, he finds a ticket with a qr code on a table. a party, in less than a week.

yuuta shoves it in his pocket, still haunted by the violet gaze.

the violet gaze is obviously toge's. toge and the main cast all have nicknames, since they are/were students at the palace and are/were part of the hierarchy going on.

naoya, former acting student and now toge's sponsor/manager. his nickname is mildew. he gets called like this because of his hair... and he isn't well-liked.

mei mei, former ballet student and now uraume's manager (uraume switched managers). her nickname is midas. she turns everything she touches to gold, a reference to how she made uraume popular again after their original fall.

uraume, former opera student and now one of the most popular and successful opera singers of this generation. their nickname is porcelain, because of their alabaster skin and their doll-like features. still, they're ruthless.

maki, ballet student in her 2nd year, and toge's friend. her nickname is hellhound because of how angry she always is. she's also seen as toge's guarddog.

nobara, opera student in her 1st year. she just arrived at the palace, from the countryside. she got given the nickname voodoo, mostly because she gives bad luck to people (whether on purpose or not).

noritoshi, opera student in his 3rd year. he was originally first on the podium, but toge dethroned him last year (noritoshi was his self-proclaimed mentor). his nickname was icarus, but after toge dethroned him he became vulture.

toge, opera student in his 2nd year. he dethroned noritoshi in his first year, and earned his nickname that way. his nickname is cannibal.

yuuta doesn't have a nickname at first, but toge quickly "claims" him (<- makes him his new pet/distraction), and refers to him as his new "morsel". thus, yuuta's nickname: morsel.

don't expect toge to be kind LOL the setting of the fic basically makes everyone a little bit terrible.

if i weren't lowkey scared of plagiarism (which is ridiculous since i don't even have a big following haha) i would share some notes from future chapters to show rather than tell toge's presence in the fic... but i guess i'll have to make another post about this.

a personal Mario movie review from yours truly.

ok, so, I'm very natural over Mario franchise. I don't love it, but I don't hate it either. so this review is mainly from someone who is there only for the animation (also for Jack Black ofc). cool? cool. alright.

spoilers below

I'm going to be super upfront with the "good stuff", and sorta detailed with the "meh stuff". mostly because the good stuff is very self-explanatory while for the negative ones I feel like at least I should give a little bit of reason why I feel that way.

good stuff

I love the world-building, everything is very well-detailed and the environment is insanely rich

character designs? love it. they look absolutely alive and expressive

the casting. I think they're all really good???? I personally think Chris Pratt is alright too ig? I mean I kinda don't care, I was distracted with everything else in the movie. but he's fine.

Jack Black. nuff said.

I love Toad. I love Peach. DK. BROWSER??? everyone's very likable damn.

I'm obsessed with the 3d models ngl. there are times when I was focused more on the models than I was on the story. It's really distracting in a good way.

Storywise, I think it's decent but also fun!

love love love the dynamic between Mario and Luigi. Peak dynamic, really.

Such a nostalgia trip. I for one who doesn't know much about Mario had such a blast listening to all the soundtracks and looking at the itsy bitsy references and such.

the credit animation is super colorful I wish I could eat it.

^ I was watching this with a friend who is obsessed with Mario. there are times when he went absolutely insane and explained some stuff that I didn't know. which I think it's cool! it's crazy how there are literally easter eggs and fan service everywhere, it doesn't feel forced too. I really could see why people love it so much.

meh stuff

ok, imma be honest. I'm just gonna complained about the plot holes here,, It didn't really effect the story, but it did confuse me a bunch of times. again, this is coming from someone who doesn't know much about Mario. I might miss some stuff.

the transition when Mario/Luigi got teleported from Brooklyn to the Mushroom Kingdom. like, why? what's so special about that specific pipe?

also before that. why's Brooklyn drowning all of a sudden lmaoo. that part kinda felt forced just so Mario and Luigi had a reason to go below the sewer. it sorta makes sense I guess? but the pacing is pretty dang weird.

how does Peach know her own kind? "you're a human!". she was a literal baby when she first got to the Mushroom Kingdom

I love love love Toad character. I just don't understand his presence? I mean sure, he's bringing the comedy, but you could find the "comedy" elsewhere too. so his character is a bit useless despite him being the protector. long story short, the movie would be fine with or without him < this is how much his character matters imo.

the pacing after Mario agreed to fight with DK and then suddenly he's on the stage. tbf this isn't really a big deal? but the transition kinda bugged me.

I don't know what exactly they wanted to do with Mario and Peach relationship. do they like each other romantically? it doesn't feel like it despite being teased a few times.

my dude Luigi has to sit in the cage for how long now? kinda suck. I wanna know more about him, I wanna see him more in action.

that being said. I wish they did more with Luigi, give him something to develop on. because seeing him fighting Browser doesn't feel as rewarding as how we see Mario. all he did most of the time was get caught and sit in a cage while Mario had to go through all those bullshit. but I get it though. storytelling wise, Luigi is supposedly Mario's goal. to get him back and all that. I get that.

I can't feel sad for Mario for some reason??? (this has nothing to do with Cris Pratt btw). his supposedly "emotional" scenes didn't impact me at all. in fact, I felt awkward. I honestly don't know why though.

the final fight scene is also awkward? I mean it's cool, don't get me wrong. I think it has to do with where they're fighting? I guess imma blame Brooklyn for this.

the 80's pop songs felt out of place, but maybe that's just me.

personal rating? 7.

but I genuinely get why people love this movie.

HI ive been a fan of the black sheep series for a while now and,,, I just wanted to share some stuff I've been thinking for a while now

IMAGINE the siblings overblotting too?!!

LIKE, THE ANGST. the brothers just hear about the pain their siblings go through and maybe cry in the process of trying to save their sibling. near the end of the fight, the sibling finally loses and falls into their arms, and everyone just let's the two have their own moment

kingscholar angst. the only thing that gives kingscholar any sense of identity and worth would be their last name. they have to live up to the expectations, no matter how much it hurts, all because of their last name. even if they ran away from their royal life, who's to say it wouldn't be the same in NRC, with all the other judgemental students? they just have enough and finally overblot probably in some competition where they're the representative of savannaclaw, gets pushed to their limits and then BOOM

I think rosehearts ob form would def have more accessories related to cards,, like in the magic mirror their soul was like formed to follow rules, and the followers of the queen of hearts are mostly cards.

im not sure why they would overblot though,, thoughts?

enough angst for now

I AGREE WITH THE OTHER ANON. rosehearts and draconia would get along. it's the most unexpected duo ever, but at the same time it kinda makes sense. the two would talk about each other's lives over tea and be sad over nonexistent sibling bonds.

bonus if rosehearts is just as short as riddle, and draconia is just as tall as malleus. draconia would just,, give rosehearts a piggy back ride and say some stuff like this

"you're tall now :)"

kingscholar would leave small accessories they'd think ashengrotto likes on their desk discreetly (ashengrotto pretends not to see the lion tail wagging near the corner of a wall everytime they open their gift)

also, imagine ashengrotto having an eel friend! it doesn't have to be another leech sibling, but it would be pretty funny. they look at the leech twins, see an eel merfolk and goes: "you are now my righthand man"

OR MAYBE A SHRIMP MERFOLK. that would be so funny, personal cleaner shrimp friend that kicks ass and defends ashengrotto for their entire life.

kingscholar!(name) overblotting because of the pressure and finally being away from the prying eyes of the elders!!! i think leona would kinda struggle with getting them out of an overblot simply because they're overblotting for the same reason he did.

but imagine they do get out of an overblot and all leona can do is hold them in his arms, pouring every once of love and understanding into his touch because he doesn't know what to say to them.

rosehearts!(name) would probably overblot because pushing themselves too much to follow rules? like they've lived off of rules for so long that they don't understand when doing so is too much for them to handle.

also the urge to make overblot forms is high ngl

ashengrotto!(name) is the parent friend but the rest of the siblings would definitely give them gifts. although, they have to do it by putting them in their room because ashengrotto!(name) is adamant in not accepting gifts >:(

but schoenheit!(name) would definitely do ashengrotto!(name)'s makeup!!! maybe on a day when ashengrotto!(name) is having a really hard time and after putting it on, schoenheit!(name) takes off all of the makeup and just goes "but you don't really need all this to look good"

hhh and then ashengrotto!(name) wanting to be like their big brother so they adopt the first eel merperson they see!!

no but like so the leech twins are moray eels, right? imagine ashengrotto!(name) meeting an electric eel instead :OO

kinda basing this off an oc forgive me but like!!! ashengrotto!(name) is just a soft baby that has low self confidence and they meet an electric eel merperson who is so protective? "they asked for no pickles" type of dynamic :D

on the other hand a shrimp merperson!!!! hhhh they're just good little babies together until the shrimp merperson gets mad and defends ashengrotto!(name) with their life!!!

Before starting some christmas doodles and/or dtiys brainstorm thumbnails i wanted to do a thought experiment and draw down every new tattoo idea I have as if money, time and pain tolerance wasnt an issue 😆 so here is what I would look like if all my ideas got made :3

1) words under right collarbone reading: "write your own story" - at the end there is a peacock feather pen still in the midst of writing the "y". Reminder to myself that this life I am living is my own and I get to decide what story I want it to be.

2) Harpy in a dynamic pose with wings stretched out and top surgery scars. The motive may change since the idea mostly is to cover up a feature i have started to become insecure about (my thigh) and make it into something I can be proud of (an artwork)

3) If I am lucky enough to meet either Jere or Bojan I will ask them to write "Are You" on something that I then want tattooed on me. This is probably the least meaningful i just love them so much i want a part of them on my skin as the parasocial delulu fan I am xD

4) a logo i have made for my own artist persona/singer songwriter persona. Placement may change. Represents my passion with singing and songwriting.

5) Flapjack from the Owl House with a brush in his mouth. Tribute tattoo to my grandmother who passed away last year. This tattoo i do have (made by Christine at Cray Cray Ink in Copenhagen on March 23 2023).

6) Eevee sitting down tilting his head where he wears a tiara with the transgender symbol on it. Eevee was my favourite pokemon and to this day i love the symbolism of the eeveelutions for the trans readings of the whole thing. The tiara just makes it more obvious plus its cute.

7) Bulbasaur with a studded collar. Ngl this one is here because I love Jere and that he fits with Eevee and Flapjack.

8) an ouroboros snake all the way across my arm making an infinity symbol. The infinity symbol is a nod to the autistic symbol while the snake is mostly here to nod to norse mythology. Probably one the tattoos that are mostly here for aesthetic reasons and that I am most likely to drop.

9) a flagpole with a t-shirt reading Ihan Sama on it. A reference to both the coverart and the lyrical content of käärijä's song Paidaton Riehuja (he has put the shirt on a flag pole when taking it off and screams ihan sama aka whatever at his insecurities about his looks at the beginning of the song). Feel connected to the song on both a gendered way and as inspiration to love myself and my body. Still figuring out if it would be most fun to have on my left arm (easier to see) or down my side (right where I have the second most body insecurity therefore being a reminder to love that part of myself)

10) the three birds concept - i mentioned it in another post so I wont go into detail here - will be running along with my left collarbone so the peacock tail is resting on the shoulder

11) my newest idea for a post-op chest tattoo is one of these adorable fox doodles created by Frederikke at Shay Ink in Odense - the fox will be wearing the bolero pointing metalforks into the air. Under it will be written this lyric from CCC: Enkää pelkääkään tätä maailmaa.

12) an ansuz rune on my left lower arm. Represents tons of things from my heritance (dane aka viking), interest in norse mythology, humanity, creativity, interest in language (last three is all meanings the rune has in itself), my autism, asexuality and aromaticism (since ansuz is also an old version of the letter 'a') together with being a nod to the käärijä concert I watched two days prior (the font being related to the käärijä font). This tattoo is one I already have and was made by Caroline at the psycadelic unicorn in Berlin.

As a reference to the poll I made. My own interpretations are these:

50% Romania, I equally adopt from canon and add my own thing. Part of it is because I'm also biased to be honest.

80% Bulgaria, ngl it's mostly the comedic aspect of him sucking at life and romance that doesn't let me change much about the canon version. Guilty and charged 🙌

30% Moldova, as I said NO more purple eyes. Amber fits him better. Plus he needs some pants!

90% Greece, I'm not sure so maybe I just don't want to go 100% canon but I'm adding a bit of blue to his eye color and more curly hair. I think of him as a soft giant and I doubt that's far off.

10% Belarus, for all the reasons

70% Hungary, nothing I'd change except give her more sarcasm and attitude.

90% Poland, it's funny because canon looks more inaccurate to the polish people and I usually prefer fanon so this is reverse psychology.

70% Norway, it's the interests that I think he'd have. Also because I don't want him so dull.

0% Prussia, he should be dead..... jk lol (it's 80%)

Brainrot Trash Idea about Shin and Baylan

So I've been seeing a fair amount of stuff about Baylan and Shin, and bc I'm a Sucker for Father-Daughter characters, decided to play with a few headcanons. None of which are remotely close to Canon and a few AUs bc I can.

General HC Rambling

* Shin is Baylan's actual daughter. Yeah, I know she's (99%) not in canon but look. The idea of Baylan having and then training his own daughter to be something greater than the Jedi lives rent-free in my head.

* He got Shin from a young age to refer to him as "Master" instead of "Father" for both their sakes. Smother the risk of attachment and keep them both safer should the Empire catch on. (Jokes on him, because both of them are very attached to each other).

(For Shin, there actually isn't a real difference between terms; for her, calling him "Master" is her just saying "Father". He is her father, not her mentor, in her POV. She just uses a different word is all. (Help them, plz)).

* On that not of terminology, been thinking and I know it's probably just a harmless/unimportant honorific, but the fact Baylan has the title of Lord makes my brain go "what if Baylan was actually of noble origins?". Which then shifts into "Shin having a separate last name from her father is due to Baylan gifting her his mother's maiden name, for the same reasons he has her refer to him as her mentor instead of parent". It's also a way, in his twisted mind, to honor his family nobility when he himself failed it (by being a Jedi).

(Also imagine the Skoll/Hati family coat of arms being *wolves*)

* I even got genealogy HC worked out cause- "well Shin doesn't look like Baylan". And yes but hear me out: she takes after another relative of his (sister, mom, aunt, grandmother, etc.). Maybe she reminds him of his mom, idk. But if so, maybe that's why he gives her the surname Hati? As a quiet honoring? Either way, she takes after his family members, just not him strictly lol.

* (I'll be honest, her hair looked dyed and frankly speaking, I do HC Baylan as being a dark brunette before he went full Grey, so not a far stretch to also consider her inheriting his hair at least.)

* Back on the Hati surname, thinking more also led to "its a family name but farther back in lineage before it got changed to Skoll somewhere down the line". Kinda like how the Bakarn family in SWTOR used to be the Bakvalens before it got changed to a more common surname. Either way, the name Skoll puts a target on Shin's back and Baylan isn't taking that risk.

* (Ngl, part of me now wants to play w the idea of Baylan actually being a descendant of the Bakarn family. Idk if he'd be related to Syo tho, for obvious reasons.)

*Regarding upbringing, Baylan was a single dad front day 1, raising Shin on the run. Who the other parent is or if she even has one, no one knows. (Mostly bc I'm lazy and single dad Baylan lives rent free in my head). They mostly drifted from place to place, never really calling somewhere home. Hence another reason why Shin is very attached to Baylan; he's her only source of stability. He is "home".

*Leaving Shin was hard for her, but it was also hard for Baylan. It's not that he doesn't love his daughter. He absolutely does. But he's driven by personal ambition to seek this unknown power on this strange world and that takes priority. And truthfully, it's dangerous. He knows it's dangerous. But it calls to him in a way he can't ignore. In a way Shin can't hear. And if For her sake. Even if tearing away from her rips him in pieces; it's dangerous what he's doing and he won't drag her into it.

(Mentally he tells himself he's doing this all for her. For a better future, for her.)

(Shin, of course, is too attached to her father to actually leave the planet.)

AU VERSE HC

On another hand, been seeing a fair amount of Baylan/Morgan content lately and THAT got me thinking of "Shin is a Baylan/Morgan child". Which...

-Half-Dathomiran Shin. Half-Dathomiran Shin with Morgan's markings.

-Shin whose been raised by a human most of her life, who isn't at all attuned to her Nightsister half. Who doesn't really know Morgan and probably is unaware she's her parent.

-Shin who isn't attuned to her Nightsister heritage, suddenly experiencing summons of green fire and magic when her parents leave her behind for their own paths.

ngl rinne amagi is an amazing character. the way i see it, his role within es!! is to question the "truths" of the enstars universe that were established within es!. specifically, how es! handled its themes of childhood/adulthood, dreams/reality, and the power of individuals to be a constitute for change. whenever rinne shows up its really does feel like taking a breath of fresh air. (i highly reccomend sudden death if you wanna see this side of rinne at its strongest)

also, rinne's ability to see through people and get under their skin makes him such a good characterisation asset. i want rinne to psychoanalyse all my faves but i need him to interact with tsumugi specifically. mostly bc tsumugi's current way-of-life goes against everything rinne stands for and i wanna see rinne rip into him.

perhaps more importantly, there are similarities between rinne and tsumugi that could be worth exploring? i think rinne's feelings towards niki could easily be compared to tsumugi's feelings towards natsume. both feel as if their lives were "saved" by the other, and have decided to use their own lives to make the other happy. likewise, both rinne and tsumugi take on the role of the "mature adult" when interacting with others – even if they have very different ideas about what constitutes as such. i think tsumugi is exactly the kind of person rinne is referring to when he talks about people who've become "cogs of society". it even reminds me of something tsumugi says about himself in magic lantern:

ep2: ok so in ep2 i’m sooooo obsessed with the tiny scene where simon puts his head on wille’s shoulder like a little dog or something. there’s just something sooo innocent and wholesome about it. but then there’s also wille and august’s fight and oh my god. the way wille almost killed him just because he said a few words to his bf… like calm down but also i support u. then again I actually have found myself kinda rooting for august this season so… kinda yikes too. and oh my god wait wait i have to talk about simon’s new song. FIRST OF FUCKING ALL THE REFERENCE TO REVOLUTION BY ELIAS (which im coincidentally listening to right now)??? AND THEN ALSO HIS LITTLE CHUCKLE WHEN HE GETS THR POSITIVE COMMENTS (which are absolutely deserved. it needs to be on Spotify right now) THAT SCENE. I LOVE SIMON. BUT THEN AGAIN NOT EVEN THR BEST PART BECAUSE I INOW IT WS SAD BUT WHEN WILLE CALLED SIMON TELLING HIM HE NEEDED TO DELETE THR VIDEO HIS LITTLE OKAY… !!//&&

ep3: for ep3 firstly the pre-camp scene when wille picks up simon. the “big boy”. IM CRYING. and the hammock scene …….. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. but oh my god do not even get me fuckinf started on the rave scene. that one frame of wilmon. roshella and frederika’s jealousy (ok personally i am not a stella nor frederika fan. the way they treat Felice is an absolute no but still that scene killed me). BUT ALSO WILMON’s TENT FIGHT??? I MEAN LIKE. THE SHUSHING. WILLE REFERENCINF SIMON SELLIG TO AUGUST. ABSOLUTELY. FOUL. ok but the one that really did it for me was simon and linda comfort scene. i cried during that scene. i love love love linda and simon so much no one will get it.

ep4: wilmon flirting during the inspection. no further notes . anyways sara and her dad bonding driving singing scene. I didn’t include most of sara’s scenes in my favourite scenes but oh my god can I just say sara, august, and micke this season I loved their stories sos so much. and the singing while driving scene. it hurt me. because as much as I hate to admit it micke reminds me of my own dad (and wille. wille this season. when I watched some of his scenes I got fully afraid). so yeah that’s really important to me!! ok anyway there is also the baking scene. no further notes on this one too. OK BUT THE HALLWAY MAKEOUT I SCREAMED. WHAT. I really really really need edvin and omar’s commentary on this one.

ep4: not many fave scenes in this one but my favourite scene in this ep was probably the one after simon’s home was broke into and wille runs to him and embraces him in a hug. no kissing, no sneaky flirting (as much as I love those things) just pure warmth and love and care. I loved it.

ep5: actually ep5 Broke me but since young royals is just so amazing I still managed to have favourite scenes in this one. first is the music room fight. yes yes I know it was terrible but it was terrible and I loved it. I just really loved the intensity here and it was such a huge contrast from the previous seasons too because tbh s1 and s2 to me were mostly like wille being obsessed with simon and simon being an amazing confident assertive boyfriend. but this season…. this scene… it changed. wille’s angry so much and it’s like simon is just trying his best. he’s sacrificed some of his own feelings to care for wille’s (not saying he didn’t do that previous seasons) it was biggggg. ALSO THE MORNING HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I LOVE YOU WILMON. oh OH OH AND THEN AUGUST GIVING SAFA THE LETTER. like I said previously i actually am kind of rooting for august this season and sara I love her screen time so much she’s such an interesting character. so the combo of this … it was crazy. and I honestly really enjoyed the way sara just hugged august it made me smile very hard but ngl the kiss was abit too much for me. i think that was like…not good of them to do. last but not least wilmon birthday fight. can i just say. the whole cast in that scene were amazing. you know the famous fallen angel painting. that was how amazing edvin’s acting was. it was so so intense. and simon/omar .. i respect them so much in that scene. anyways we’re not gonna talk abt the bed scene because that doesn’t exist in my little head anymore :)

okay that was it i believe. both waiting for and watching the last episode will probably include a lot of crying. but u know it is what it is!! we rock this shit right!! i love young royals with my whole heart and to the anon that sent me this ask im so so sorry for dumping all this on u but thank u for letting me talk :3 n to anyone else who saw this if u read even one paragraph of this i love you
