(re: sssniperwolf and jacksfilms) It's laughable that she escalated it that hard. Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty sure stalking him like that is illegal and it's terrifying regardless, but Jack said in a stream (can't remember which one) that he wasn't about bringing up past controversies of hers or cancelling. And now she shows up outside his house (wtf!!!). Like he was willing to only call her out for stealing and freebooting but she's gone and stalked him and Jack doesn't seem like the type of guy to take that shit. Actual WTF moment from her part. wild
omg long post below bc apparently I have opinions: YES!! THAT'S WHAT'S SO INCREDIBLE ABOUT THIS... Jack has been genuinely diligent about keeping things on-topic in his streams, and hasn't brought up any of her other Stuff, or anything Personal. Despite the fact that she kickstarted the whole thing by making it INCREDIBLY personal and attacking his physical appearance... His goal has been to call out and bring attention to content theft, and he's stuck with it. Dude's also cared about this for years, and she's not the first content thief he's criticized. He just hates the way that freebooting has become so accepted-- to the point where youtube praised her for "coming up with such creative video ideas"? Hey! Ew! Dude wasn't trying to get her cancelled though, there was no smear campaign of her character. He's been rallying to get her to CREDIT the creators that she relies on for all of her content. It would set a precedent for all other "react" channels on the platform for one of the biggest channels on youtube to actually give credit where credit is due. Or, god forbid, get permission first? It's not hard. It's already done the job of making some other people who do "react content" self-analyze whether or not their content is transformative, and to maybe care about crediting the creators they rely on for their genre to work. There is a way to make this kind of video that isn't so slimy. And making fun of her lackluster-at-best reactions is so far from even being a big deal. Bc she literally does just sit there and say nothing. Plus, his goal has a clear End built into it: if she started shouting out the creators she takes content from, and put links directly to their pages in her video descriptions, the job would be done! That's what he's asking her to do. Real bare minimum stuff. It legit would have been easy to steer away from the content theft and to also talk about her history of lying to her audience! her ghosting a dying kid with cancer who was a big fan of hers! the fact that she's been arrested for armed robbery! her history of transphobia! He would also get more clicks that way, which is what she claims is his sole goal- to get more clicks. I'll bring it up though! She's been a terrible person the whole time, and has kept a steady course of manipulating her audience of young children and/or, let's be completely honest, simps- into thinking that she's a Wholesome creator. (And now, into thinking she's an innocent victim.) All of the actual effort put in by her has gone toward optics, not the content she puts out. A carefully constructed online persona, for one, but also literal appearances. Jack totally can't say this, bc she already went off the handle and said the only reason he doesn't like her is bc he Hates To See A Woman Be Successful. But I can! That was a cheap shot for her to use that argument when, for once, it's not applicable! Much the opposite, even! Dudes online wouldn't go to bat for her if she didn't look the way she does. And it weakens any case she'd have against him by making baseless claims like that. She banks hugely on being an attractive woman to get her clicks/following. A massive amount of effort is put into her appearance. The makeup, the lip fillers, putting her hair in little pigtails, the chokers and tube tops, the big non-prescription Nerd Glasses, the thumbnails where she has her mouth open in That Expression?
I don't even have to say anything. But making a weird facial expression and putting your hair in pigtails aren't moral failings. Showing up at someone's real life home (whose address you shouldn't even have access to), filming the front of their house at night, doxxing them to your audience of millions of people? Because you were mad at them online? That is fully scary! Yeah girl I'm pretty sure that Jack can press charges! There is absolutely no way to take the moral highground now that she's literally stalked him, and doxxed his home. She tried to goad him and Erin (Jack's wife) out of the house, also, which creeps me out even more-- because what was she planning to do? The fact that she's been arrested for violent crime before does pop into my mind! lmao! Jack was streaming a game at the time that she was outside his home, and these clips of him, his friends, and Erin reacting in real time to what is genuinely a scary situation have been taken down in case he needs to use them in legal action. Shit is legitimately serious!
#sergle answers#long post#LONGEST POST ON EARTH I'M SO SORRY#saying all this out loud only takes a few minutes but typing it... girl this is a BOOK#clearly I have thoughts on this Online Drama but also this isn't online!#these are people who exist in real life. and compromising a person's safety bc he criticized you for stealing tiktoks#is a real life thing. this isn't confined to online spaces! you can turn off your computer to get away from An Argument#but someone going to your house?? that's absolutely terrifying#and all of this is just because he's been telling her to credit the creators. it could have been resolved so simply.#I hope he takes legal action against her bc he genuinely has grounds to do so.#and I can't imagine how terrified and upset I would be if someone was outside my door. filming my house for their audience.#also the 'what if the roles were reversed' argument is rarely made in good faith... but she's already brought up the topic.#this would be getting even more coverage and the optics would be Even Creepier if a strange man with millions of followers showed up#at the home of a woman- just bc she criticized his videos- filming her home address for all to see and trying to get her to come outside.#It's just as creepy that sssniperwolf did this as it would be coming from ANYONE else#it's been downplayed bc her being a little skinny woman means that A Man shouldn't be threatened by her#which. even if she wasn't going to Do anything. any one of her rabidly loyal online followers MIGHT. she's not the only one who could go to#his house now! anyone could show up.#sergle.txt#Jacksfilms#Sssniperwolf

You know what's interesting to me? For all people keep claiming at every juncture that perhaps Bells Hells will come around on the gods and see the harm they do (which, as discussed extensively, is, half the time, simply not intervening) not only have they never done so, but also they never quite cross the line into saying the party should join the Ruby Vanguard or aid them - and indeed, they defend against it - so what does this achieve? It feels like they're asking for a story in which the party stands idly by, which isn't much of a story nor, if I may connect this briefly to the real world, a political stance anyone should be proud of.
That's honestly the frustration with the gods and the "what if the Vanguard has a point" conversations in-game. What do we do then? Do we allow the organization that will murder anyone for pretty much any reason that loosely ties into their goals run rampant? The group that (perhaps unwittingly, but then again, Otohan's blades had that poison) disrupted magic world-wide, and caused people who had the misfortune to live at nexus points to be teleported (most, as commoners, without means of return). While also fomenting worldwide unrest?
Those were the arguments before the trip to Ruidus; with the reveal of the Vanguard's goals to invade Exandria, the situation becomes even more dire. Do you let the Imperium take over the planet?
And do the arguments against the gods even hold up? If Ludinus is so angry at them for the Calamity, what does it say that he destroyed Western Wildemount's first post-Calamity society for entirely selfish means? (What does it say about the validity of vengeance as a motivator?) What does it say that Laudna told Imogen she could always just live in a cottage quietly without issue before the solstice even happened? (Would this still be true if the Imperium controls the world?) What does it say that when faced with a furious, grieving party and the daughter she keeps telling herself was her reason for all of this, Liliana can't provide an answer to the question of what the gods have done other than that their followers will retaliate...for, you know, the Vanguard's endless list of murders. (That is how the Vanguard and Imperium tend to think, huh? "How dare your face get in the way of my boot; how dare you hit me back when I strike you.") She can't even provide a positive answer - why is Predathos better - other than "I feel it", even though Imogen and Fearne know firsthand that Predathos can provide artificial feelings of elation. Given all the harm Ludinus has done in pursuit, why isn't the conclusion "the gods should have crashed Aeor in such a way that the tech was unrecoverable?"
Even as early as the first real discussion on what the party should do, the fandom always stopped short of saying "no, Imogen's right, they should join up with the people who killed half the party," it was always "no, she didn't really mean it, she just was trying to connect with her mother." Well, she's connected with her mother, and at this point the party doesn't even care about the gods particularly (their only divinely-connected party member having died to prevent the Vanguard from killing all of them). So they will stop the Vanguard; as Ashton says, the means are unforgiveable. As Laudna says, it's not safe to bet on Predathos's apathy. As Imogen says, she's done running; the voice that she used to think of as a lifeline belongs to someone she doesn't trust. So I guess my question is: if they're stopping the people who are trying to kill the gods (and defense of the gods isn't remotely their personal motivation)...do you think the next phase of the campaign is Bells Hells personally killing the gods? Reconstructing the Aeor tech and hoping none of their allies notice? How does this end? Does your ideology ever get enacted? Or is this entirely moot and pointless and the story ends with Bells Hells saying "well, I'm really glad we stopped the people who [insert list of Vanguard atrocities from above]; none of us follow the gods or plan to, but honestly, the status quo we return to is preferable to whatever nightmare Ludinus had concocted in his violent quest for power and revenge"?

like the thing about making janet power hungry and vicious and cold and scary/terrifying and the idea that tim gets all his calculating and terrifying traits from her is that 1) it is the thinnest veiled refrigerator mother trope ever, let us leave that misogynistic nonsense in the 40s and 50s where it didn't belong, but it existed and 2) though it is *so* often used in an outright misogynistic way, even the attempts to frame tim getting his viciousness from her in a positive way leans heavily into misogynistic ideals where the only good woman mother is one whose traits are cold and logical and thereby "manly" (dare i say....male character coded?) in a way that *does* devalue traits like empathy & compassion & caring as strong traits to learn from the source of a female character.
(and let me make it clear! i don't believe these traits are male vs female in real life, of course humans are complex and show a wide range of characteristics and women aren't inherently emotional and men aren't inherently logical. it's just within fiction, it's very telling that the way to make a female character strong is often, lazily, just to give her traits that are usually associated with male characters instead and call that a day. because why make a woman emotional and strong when you could just get rid of all those pesky traditionally feminine coded traits instead #feminism#genderneutralmeansmaleright)
so like, you have janet. and basically before she dies, she is explicitly shown as the more emotional parent before she dies given her two appearances are
she's very visibly the only person in the audience crying at witnessing the tragic death of the flying graysons
she's crying at the terror of being kidnapped
and yea, janet being cast as the more emotional one to jack's firm resolve reeks of good ole 80s sexism (women are hysterical, right?), but when you try to remediate that by making her a cold, vicious, terrifying Strong Woman instead you have just horseshoed around to perform sexism in a different way. why are all her more emotional traits such as caring, compassion, fear removed to make her tim's vicious rol model instead? why aren't those traits seen as good, strong traits for tim to get from her instead? why does his cold viciousness have to his female role models? why is is that when a woman is made to be a strong character positive or negative, the answer is always to make her cold emotionally?
(well, we know why)

u think ur safe till the 1.92 m niqabi pulls out a magical Zweihänder
have a witcher au featuring royal knight Bushra to Fox surly princess with witcher Riyo and instigator/king Ponds!
putting the vague story under the cut for funsies :D
Bushra is Fox’ royal guard, charged with the princess safety and they’re hopelessly in love. Ponds, who’s had enough of of this courtly love and them making terrible love-struck eye contact all day, decides to leave in the knowledge that Fox would never go for her feelings with him present 80 percent of the time. (he’s using the opportunity to investigate a sighting of Jango, who should be very much dead, thank you).
But!
Knowing that Bushra would simply pull double duty and never relax to keep Fox extra safe now, decides to put out a call out for the most ‘diplomatic’ witcher, so Bushra will feel more assured in chilling for a bit.
Riyo has been unwittingly thrown into the whole ordeal and arrives at court because the new king, whomst she and her comerades have never met, declared her presence of ‘utter importance’. She meets the incognito traveling king on her way there and is slightly confused by this stranger casually dropping into convo with her, that does not happen to a witcher, but moves on. Ponds meanwhile has the time of his life, knowing he sent Riyo to Fox, who, famously absolutely does not want anyone she doesn’t know at court, this is more stress, Ponds, why the fuck did you ask for a witcher to come here?!
Shenanigans ensue, Riyo is stuck there now and gets a vague idea of what’s going on by seeing Fox and Bushra interact for 0.5 seconds, so she stays there to play bodyguard and watch those two go on their Not-Dates. (the moment she stepped before Fox, the princess looked at her, said “No.” and walked straight out of the room. There’s a reason Ponds asked for the ‘most diplomatic’ one.)
When Ponds returns mere minutes after Fox has finally asked for Bushra’s hand in marriage, he meets a very exasperated and exhausted Riyo, who marches up to him with a pointed finger and a very angry “Y O U”, to which he goes “who? me? :)”
Fox courted Bushra with another sword btw. She now has another magical one, next to her terrifying Zweihänder :)

Colress: Um, Grim? W-why are you pretending we're all chummy with Ghetsis?
Grimsley: We need money.
Colress: So you’re scamming him?
Grimsley: I was thinking more like flat-out stealing from him.
Colress: *who is VERY aware of what the Shadow Triad and Ghetsis are capable of* What? No way.
Grimsley: Why not? We already stole his puppet king.
N: Hi, new uncles.
Colress: No, we didn't. N is a bright young man - he can do whatever he wants.
N: I wanna steal.
Colress: *mortified gasp*
Grimsley: *cackles*

had a dream I was about to murder the emperor - but let him go out of pity after his pathetic mewling that he's so very scared and pleading and begging for his life. his men abandoned him, and so I was satisfied.
until it turned out some of his men were still loyal, and someone drove a sword right through my heart at the very scene of this sweet near-assassination.
killing me, of course, but also turning me into a horrifying vengeful spirit haunting that very place for centuries. what a sweet dream! so long and so detailed, and so very sweet!

I feel as though people (mostly people who aren't insanely wataeipilled, or involved with shipping in general) are misunderstanding what we're upset about. It's not the simple assumption that we want wataei to be "canon" and that we're upset that that can't happen because of Eichi getting married, it's that HappyEle have been on a character assassination spree recently (Izumi in Mad Party & Kohaku in Last Mission) and we're worried that's going to happen to Wataru and/or Eichi. Regardless of shipping, Eichi never told Wataru, who's supposed to be his "best friend" that he's essentially been engaged to Tori's sister for the best part of a year. If Wataru isn't upset about this, then they've done it once again, because Wataru trusts Eichi to take his mask off around him; whilst the mask is "him", the "mask's purpose" (the title of his card in EP:Link) is to hide oneself. Wataru took it off for EICHI and Eichi ALONE. He put himself on display, allowed his facade to begin to fade around him and be his authentic "self" and opened himself up to possibly even be hurt (which he was immediately, by the way, and CRIED over it. HIBIKI WATARU. CRIED. Because Eichi was indifferent to his confession of love) because he trusts Eichi, and Eichi's told Wataru before (Tempest) that he also trusts him. So, is it or is it not blatant character assassination, and possibly even going back on their more recent development of becoming more honest with each other, if Wataru is not upset with this development?

He probably had it set up in his crib to where it looked out at his brothers so whenever one of them woke up in the middle of the night the first thing they were to see would be Scrooge McDuck smiling at them

Hi pookies guess who went through every single individual frame of the teaser and then had the playback speed set all the way down to get this? ME!! Also, not to alarm anybody but the guitar slowed sounds like screaming which really set the tone for what was happening. Also, to confirm, the person who is getting their eye poked by that needle was indeed neither Ivan or Till and it doesn't seem like Till was in the experiments at all but was in an adoption center. Somehow they interacted during this time. Also, another point of mention is that the girl who is crossed out looks the same as the person getting their eye poked simply because of hair texture. This person might be related to Ivan so who knows, but I don't think the red iris is natural anymore which is a point of concern.

decided I’m still in love with my TOA cat au. Eventually his kids agree to bring him home and take care of him on a schedule and his youngest (who got mysteriously claimed whilst Apollo was a cat) begged and begged to take him home. So the other kids eventually relented and he (loves Warrior cats so much) gave Apollo an honorary Warrior cats name. (Placeholder will be Rufflepaw / Ruffletail bc he’s a teenager cat! Actually no I feel like the teen awkwardness, self-awareness etc. given to Apollo as Lester when he got turned into a teen could correlate to Being A Scared Kitty.) WORSE THOUGHT: what if Apollo had the same identity crisis he did during the series but instead of “Lester” it was “Ruffletail”. How would that make you (me) feel (very upset). OK ACTUALLY INSTEAD, when Apollo completes his trials (?? WAIT. HOW WOULD HE DO THAT HE’S A CAT HANG ON.) and he publishes his book series about his trials he gently reads them to his (very excited) kids as a bedtime story. They all huddle around him (he is the nightlight and the radiator) as he reads and whenever Apollo reads out his identity crisis sections, every time he says his agreed-upon cat name his youngest yells “RUFFLETAIL!!” after it.

Anybody else notice how the Entity is getting not only more complex with every update, but also more and more alive? To the extent that it can now get up and walk? To the extent of implied organs, implied magic? And meanwhile, coincidentally, Grian seems to be losing his sense for his own durability. Stood right there and took a hit from a trident thrown straight up, expecting to live, but didn’t. The surprise in his voice when Keralis was able to take him out in one punch. Having less health than he expected to have is becoming a trend...except for that time in front of the Rift.
“...I didn’t die?”
You know. The last near-death incident before the over-estimations started happening.
Debt is a powerful, powerful thing. Perhaps the Rift, and the Entity it spawned, know that. Perhaps that loan of life to Grian was the permission they needed to start taking back their due - slowly, of course, so that he never quite notices.
Slowly, of course, one sip of life at a time, so that the thing at the other end of the straw can feed in steady peace. Because debt and deals might rule the eldritch, but equivalent exchange rules nature, and the Entity is above all else both. Life cannot simply spring from nothing, not without cause, not without fuel. Grian is the reservoir of life that the Entity is pulling from. As it grows, he depletes.
Maybe the Rift is a conduit, the pipe for the transfer to take place - or maybe it’s the mastermind, or an impassive observer, or hey, maybe it’s just a coincidental tear like any other tear. Randomness is a law of nature too. But the idea that the Entity’s growth will be capped by how much life and power is left to be pulled from Grian is terrifying in MULTIPLE ways and I’ll be turning it over in my brain for the rest of the day at least
#Grian#the Entity#Hermitcraft#''So did Grian completely forget about the cliffhanger from two episodes ago or did he just troll us all by not giving any answers?'#< sentences thought before disaster#the disaster being This Idea#listen#am I stringing together several unconnected coincidences that were almost certainly not intentionally implying anything? yes#should you be even a little bit surprised by that if you have been following this blog for more than a couple months? No#Absolutely The Fuck Not dlfkjsdls#I don't care if it's anything close to what's happening really but it's PLAUSIBLE and that's TERRIFYING#terrifying in the best way#because just. imagine#I'm not usually a non-human Grian headcanoner but ik a lot of people think he's got some vast wells of unused power#and just. the /consequences/ of some parasitic otherworldly Entity choosing that person out of everyone to feed on#could it smell the life that saturated Grian? the power? or was it just coincidence?#/how much bigger will it grow with that as a source to feed on?/#and in a non-magical Grian scenario it really only gets WORSE#because how long can one human being hold out as the sole source of nourishment for a Thing like that?#is it like a blood donation where the life it takes from Grian will regenerate slowly over time?#leaving him exhausted and weakened but too gradually to notice? just gradually enough to adapt to without thinking?#is that why the Entity is doing this slowly? as a strategy?#....will its patience for strategy run out as the end to its means draws near?#man. man. I love what Grian is doing this season#I've been too exhausted myself to have many writing ideas lately but this is giving me more than I've had in ages#oh ah. also#tw horror#tw parasite#ik there are some people squicked out by the Entity in general so let me know if I've missed any tags for that#but I personally am having the time of my life right now
