23-Do you prefer phone calls, FaceTime or texting?

Texting for sure. But I do love to hear someone's voice over the phone if their far way from me. I'm not a fan of FaceTime because I'm a Droid girlie and also my wifi always sucks ass.

25-What's a controversial opinion you have?

Guuurl, sooo many (that honestly shouldn't even be controversial but people like to tussle with common sense apparently)

One, drug addiction shouldn't carry such a hefty prison sentence for someone but instead get them rehabilitative treatment as a sentence. It's more a health (and social) issue than a criminal one but governments profit from keeping the prison system fat and fed with inmates especially from marginalized communities.

Also, men's mental health is not a central focus for society and it's unfortunate really but it's largely due to the fact that men themselves do not put themselves at the forefront of movements meant for their uplifting and instead expect women to do the gruntwork for them and complain that women don't care about issues affecting men.

💤 SLEEPING - do they fall asleep easily? what helps them sleep?

MINAH — sleeps like shit to be honest. lots of worries before she falls asleep (more than normal, these days 😬) and lots of nightmares after. honestly the darkspawn dreams are probably a nice change from the usual fare. she tends to white-knuckle it—the last thing she wants is to become dependent on some crutch just for a good night's sleep. in general, though, she sleeps better when she knows there's someone watching her back

DAICHI — he's disciplined about going to bed and getting up at a reasonable hour and resting, even if he can't fully sleep. he doesn't have any specific rituals, but having zaref nearby turned out to be a big improvement to his sleep quality (cute). if he really couldn't settle down for some reason, he'd write to his dad

ANTICLEA — sleeps pretty easily. she's got her rituals (quiet time, tea, something to read, no screens) but it's nothing special. just a nice way to wind down from the day and get ready for bed.

💐 BOUQUET - create a bouquet for them! what do those flowers mean? are any of the flowers their particular favourite?

MINAH — lilies (purity), peonies (shame & anger, but also prosperity & honor), lilac (old love), heather (solitude, protection). all while and pale purple, almost like a wedding bouquet. I don't know if any of those are her favorite—I don't think she's put much thought into her favorite flower in at least a decade

DAICHI — his bouquet would be pretty rustic. daisies (innocence), dandelions (faithfulness), goldenrod (encouragement according to wikipedia). generally yellow tones, bright and warm—something you'd pick for your mom on a day trip, y'know? he doesn't have a favorite flower, but he'd come to love a loved one's favorite flower because it reminded him of them

ANTICLEA — sage (health, wisdom, respect), snowdrop (hope), white tulips (sincerity), rosemary (remembrance), rue (regret). hers would be a leafier/greener bouquet than traditional. very understated. she likes the herbs most of all

MINAH — check out how many masks this pc can wear! it's less a side of herself that she doesn't want to show people and more the depths of herself—she's well versed in misdirection and telling people what (she thinks) they want to hear, all in the interest of keep people Out Of Her Business. if I had to pick a specific facet she doesn't like to show others, it's her fear. and she's got a lot of fear.

DAICHI — he tries so hard to hide his doubt and his anger and all those ugly, messy things that aren't helpful to working together or achieving a goal—he doesn't like to feel like he's dragging the group down with his unprofessionalism. (he's also really private in general, so he tends to keep his personal relationship stuff close to the chest as well. that went badly.)

ANTICLEA — she's private about her grief. not for shame or anything, just because it's personal and it's heavy, and she doesn't feel the need to put that on other people. she has everything she needs to carry it

🙊 SPEAK-NO-EVIL - what is something your oc will refuse to stay quiet about?

MINAH — minah is actually pretty loud about most things, she just rarely says anything meaningful. you want bullshit, she can serve you so much bullshit. however, she's quick to get involved if she sees a friend getting dunked on. the troupe always emphasized keeping an eye out for your own (not every town is thrilled about a group of strangers setting up shop and taking their coin), so while she's not one for grand causes or ideologies, when it comes to the small stuff, she has her friends' backs. (also, good luck getting her to shut up about a really good show)

DAICHI — he's got a well-developed sense of right and wrong and he'll let you know about it. in the kindest way possible, of course, but he's a blunt little fucker. I love him.

ANTICLEA — I'm not sure yet. I think she's the sort to reach out if she sees someone hurting, but I'm not sure how insistent (or meddling) that care might be

🙉 HEAR-NO-EVIL - what is the worst thing your oc could hear from someone?

MINAH — her full name, I think. or if something happened to her sister

DAICHI — izzy's anger really hurt him, but I think news of his father's death would have broken him. or if another party member died. kinda selfish of him to sacrifice himself before anyone else could tbh :/

ANTICLEA — her son is a really tender subject. I think if anyone declared she was the one to blame for his death she'd take that hard. or if somehow she learned that her son wasn't dead after all, that would fuck her up

most should be sketching!! and also shading hair and skin,,

20. Could they ever go back to their old life? Would they want to?

Maya couldn't ever go back, but she does want to sometimes. It's the same thing as wanting to go back to her childhood, in her case, since her "old life" ended when she was ~15. She misses truly feeling safe and being able to rely on her parents for protection from what little danger is around, and she misses feeling like the threat is on the horizon but not here yet and maybe it never will actually arrive, who knows! And she misses having a place she feels settled, but that, in some ways, she can get back--and since there aren't any major active threats she's dealing with right now, she's working on finding a home and doing just that.

Rhi could, in some ways, go back if they wanted to. Their "old life" would be the few years prior to them becoming actively and fully involved in the story at the start of EoD by jumping into the Mists after Gorrik with their mother and sister (Kerra and Aurene, respectively). It'd be a little bit of returning to the same kind of thing that Maya misses--being protected by their parents, spending time with their siblings, getting to be young--but Rhi doesn't really want to go back. Go home to visit/stay for a while, sure, but go back to the exact way things were, definitely not. They're a lot more confident now, and more than that, they want to be involved in major world events. They're okay with a bit of a spotlight nowadays.

Chieko could 100% go back to her "old life" in regards to everything but the trauma she's experienced since leaving home. Her parents are nobles in Divinity's Reach and, though they do support her, they would be thrilled if she came home--it's much safer, and she'd be able to live a life closer to the one they'd pictured for her. Chieko has zero desire to return home, though; she misses her parents but never wanted to stay, and she left entirely of her own volition. She keeps in contact with her parents, but doesn't visit often, and at this point is considering staying in Cantha on a longer-term basis (both to be with her girlfriend and to conduct research with Priory backing/support).

7. Do they have a favorite mount?

For Maya, that's her raptor, whose name is Blue both because I like it completely separate from any similarity it may bear to a movie character and because I think it's funny xD She's had Blue for nearly her entire life, and they're (outside of her brother--and as far as she knows) the only family she has for quite a few years.

Rhi doesn't really have any mounts that are personally theirs yet, but they adore Petey, which makes Gorrik very happy.

Chieko has a skimmer, Beck, who she loves very much!

This makes me so happy to bring up Cyrlen again :D Dusting off the poor boy.

9. What is their favorite color? Favorite animal?

Cyrlen's favorite color is gold! He likes accenting himself with it, and also thinks that it looks really good on Dorian. His favorite animal is a horse! (If you remember my fic you know I'm kidding. He actually doesn't necessarily have a favorite animal, but he admires birds the most for their freedom.)

10. What are some of their talents/skills?

There's a lot of knowledge stored up in Cyrlen's head. He's a major nerd on a whole lot of different facets of knowledge. Something that also doesn't come up a lot is that Cyrlen is a really good cook. He doesn't cook much because he doesn't eat much when he's stressed. It's hard to be inspired when you're not hungry.

Oh! He's also a relatively good dancer. But he usually will not dance outside of practices with the Dalish or on any other occasion except for when he's alone.

16. Are they religious?

Surprisingly, despite being the First, he's not religious. Not that he necessarily doesn't believe in the gods - he just doesn't believe they need worship. He finds all religious text fascinating, and loves learning about it. But he doesn't worship them.

The reason why is definitely related to some trauma.

25. What is their biggest flaw?

I could be boring and say it's him caring about others too much that he puts himself in too much danger, but I think when it comes down to it, Cyrlen's biggest flaw is that he's selfish. He doesn't even really like other people and doesn't usually try to get to know them or understand them.

He definitely likes to keep to himself - but through Inquisition he is sort of forced to get to know and understand others, which definitely helps break him out of his shell.

He's definitely a know-it-all. Maeron would definitely agree.

35. What is the easiest way to annoy them?

Cutting remarks about elves, saying his name wrong, talking down to him - it's pretty easy to annoy Cyrlen. Maeron could think of thousands of ways to annoy his brother. It definitely depends on who you are. If you're a stranger - ignoring Cyrlen and talking over him will definitely get you on his bad side.

If you're someone like Dorian and you get annoyed at something and take it out on Cyrlen? He's going to give it right back. Most times, though, if you're close enough to get Cyrlen annoyed and see his face scrunch up with it, then it means he loves you.

37. How easy is it for them to say “I love you”? Do they say it without meaning it?

It's extremely difficult for Cyrlen to utter those words. Before Maeron came into his life, he didn't love anyone or anything. And even then, before Inquisition, he didn't think he'd ever love anyone outside of his brother.

Cyrlen says "I love you" in a thousand ways without saying it - taking care of others, cooking meals, etc. But saying those words are very, very difficult for him. He'd never say it unless he meant it with every fiber of himself.

54. What is their current hairstyle? What have been some of their past hairstyles? Which was their favorite hairstyle?

This one is really fun! Cyrlen has thick, wiry hair. At the beginning of Inquisition, it's close and well kept to his head (because Maeron cuts it for him.) But as Inquisition goes on, it kind of gets away from him a bit. Near the end, he's grown it out and put it into long, elegant braids. His favorite style is his current style because he loves being doted on and loves people playing with his hair.
