That The Sun article is freaking me out!!!! Why they gotta make Colin a rake?!?! Why?!? 😭

I can say with so much certainty that Colin isn’t a rake.

And I wouldn’t worry about The Sun article if I was you. For a couple reasons.

1. The Sun is not reliable and is known for clickbait. And if I remember right they’re the ones who wrote that Shonda had to rewrite s3, bc of a dark storyline. Which we later found out wasn’t true at all.

2. The whole article just screams clickbait. It looks like they took quotes from other interviews and put it there. As well as taking things that happened in seasons 1 and 2, and making seem like it’s for s3.

3. It goes against everything we already know about s3. Lol so when would Colin even have the time? He’s gonna be to busy with Penelope and helping her find a husband. Before slowly figuring out he’s in love with her.

Still on such a high from that episode but feeling scared about two things that may happen now…

Between Maya expressing her concerns to Ben about it feeling impossible to do the job with Carina and Liam at home and Maya telling Andy she felt guilty she wasn’t at home with them to now Maya being the one to express the fear that she will die on the job and leave Carina alone to raise Liam (as opposed to Carina voicing this fear even if she obviously has it also) I’m starting to fear that maybe they are setting it up that Maya isn’t going to be a firefighter anymore at the end of it and maybe that article wasn’t so clickbait-y after all 😩 And especially if she sees whatever happens to Ben (and Beckett maybe?) on the call next episode first hand…

And while I’m glad that Carina brought up IVF again now I can’t help but wonder if that is the difficult news that Maya helps her navigate next episode?? They’re really going to have her find out she can’t have kids aren’t they? 😭

It isn't a stupid question! I know it can be daunting to get into such a massive topic where everyone involved already seems like an expert. For me it's honestly as simple as years & years of accumulated knowledge from watching docs, reading articles, & staying up to date with news/discussions that happen within the community (via r*ddit, mostly r/UFO lol). lots of independent research on cases that stuck out to me! though I can't say I always am a Facts & Logic ufohead bc I also will happily watch shit like ancient aliens even though I'm well aware 95% of it (being generous w/that percentage) is nonsense. it's still a lot of fun lol

Anyways idk if you're completely new to the ufo/uap stuff (sorry I'm gonna end up using the terms interchangeably as always bc I can never decide, uap is the updated more accurate term but ufo is the Classic & much more widely recognized) or not but if you need a crash course on what's been happening the past few years here's a useful site! the link below is a timeline of the partial disclosure that's been happening in bits and pieces since 2017 here (aka, the US government admitting that there are strange objects constantly darting in & out of our airspace that they can't explain the origin or mechanics of despite having been studying the phenomenon in secret for decades even as they were constantly denying it-and while there's no doubt that they know more than they're admitting to, I am most definitely not one of those "the aliens & government are already in contact and working together!!1" tinfoils types lol, too ridiculously implausible to seriously consider imo). it's very well organized & easy to read, I would definitely recommend looking through it!

Thoughts on the video below:

In true New Rockstars fashion, the title is 100% clickbait (no, the Newsweek article did not mention sex AT ALL), but the ending does build up to the joke that yes...maybe they DID fuck (if that's what you want lol)

However, I appreciate how New Rockstars did their homework and discussed in depth the Newsweek article AND Hannah Beachler's corrections on Twitter.

Even better, they showcased where they speculate the editing room cuts began and ended.

The video also delves into the Shuri, Riri, Namor science subplot that got cut out. New Rockstars guesses it had to do with the Talokan sun and I think they are guessing on the right track because of the BTS video that was shared by an actress who played a Talokanil scientist.

In her video (need to find the source), she shows a clip of her floating towards a bright glowing orb - even more evidence that Shuri and Riri were likely helping Namor with his sun.

Either way, I'm very pleased with how New Rockstars handled the discussion of this video, opting to get in on the shipping (bc it's fun!) rather than dismissing it or critiquing it. The YouTube comments are generally positive as well too.

I also still firmly believe it was 100% the right move to cut out any overt suggestions of romance between the two. It's just too soon! Feature installments can go in even further, but what we got already was great. However, I am once again asking Disney to release the Shuri and Riri Talokan scenes because I neeeeed to see more Talokan (+ Namor).

If you read it again anon you’ll see there’s a number of sly references to queer baiting, and rehashes of 1D splitting, Caroline Flack’s death, and DWD gossip including that Florence was upset by Olivia giving Harry special treatment with the promotional schedule. Distinctions between Cute and Sus

I guess this is common sense but in the shipping realm, common sense is often MIA.

I'm deep into shipping so I've been around these waters quite a bit now and have noticed most so-called 'my ship is real' moments are just very, very cute. But definitively romantic? Nope.

Cute moments are totally ship-worthy but they are not significant as proof the two people are involved in a special relationship.

The members are close to each other's families.

Ans: This is the very reason why tabloid mags and clickbait articles still have readers.

When you see your OTP interacting, that excitement and happiness is from the same place in your brain that activates when you get a sip of hot cocoa after coming inside from a raging blizzard. You find them cute, lovely, more of that please! But it's just that. Those moments show the chemistry, rapport or good relations between the two. It doesn't automatically support them as 'boyfriends/girlfriends'. It does not Define the relationship.

Jinkook have plenty of cute moments. Plenty. But those don't say 'They're dating'. I can show my friend a video of them hugging, smiling at each other, playing around, but I can't stop the video and ask "Now do you see how in love they are??" My non-army friend will think I've finally gone bananas from the internet. Lots of moments that I find cute about Jinkook fizzle to bits once I lift them out of the shipping realm. Very very squeal-inducing, but does not define them as a couple.

I gave so many counterexamples of what not to consider when trying to ship a 'real' couple. So what're the correct things to look for? Ha, if I had solid examples, I wouldn't still be floundering here on the internet. In the realm of shipping, the correct answer is: no single moment can prove that a ship is real. Shipping is fun but if you want to be serious about it and actually consider if the two people are dating irl secretly, guess what, it's detective time. If you don't have a recorded confession, well it's time to get down to the nitty gritty, start theorizing, find evidence and make your stand. It's work and effort now, not just appreciating the cute moments as they appear on your tl. Unfortunate I know.

Legend says there exists another kind that is more thought-provoking and nuanced. After seeing such instances, the correct reaction should contain a little bit of self-doubt, discomfort and a pinch of 'Let me rewind'. And the next thought following should be 'that can't be. I'm reading too much into it. They're just brothers.' And then somewhere down the line you might join me here. These are moments you spotted in the wild and not in a shipper edit. The moment has to be organic.

Of course, that goes for any ship at all about any two people on the planet. Who's to say whose instincts are right? ☺️
