Friendship Bracelets - CC

Pairing: Caitlin Clark x Reader

Summary: After getting out of a 2-year relationship, your friends encourage you to get back in the game by putting your phone number on some friendship bracelets for the Taylor Swift concert. You decided to make just one and that one ended up on the one and only Caitlin Clark.

Warnings: Swifties lol, this is like a major cliche but I do not care I am also going to change the order of the setlist to make this fic work better please don't come after me, cheating (not involving Caitlin)

AN: This is nothing other than a figment of my imagination.

2 years. 2 years down the drain. 2 years you gave to this guy only to be left heartbroken and angry.

It had been two weeks since you found out your long-term boyfriend had been cheating on you. Something was off with the two of you for a few months before you found out but when you did it all clicked. That was no excuse for what he did, it honestly only made you hate yourself for not ending it when things started to change.

When you found out, you left quietly.

He was expecting you to lash out and make a scene. He expected you to break things and hit him and show all signs of what he did had an effect on you, at least any sign that you were affected. You gave him none of that.

When you found out - you packed up your things while he was at work and left without as much as a note. He tried calling and texting you for the better part of a week before you finally decided to meet with him.

The two of you sat down at a local diner. You barely looked at him as he tried to come up with any sort of excuse. It was miserable. when you were done sitting there watching him struggle, you finally spoke.

"I don't want to hear any of it. All I want is an apology and I will be going my own way. That is the least you can do for throwing away the last five years," you say making direct eye contact with him now.

He sits there, speechless. He tries to find words and you sit there watching him try to form an apology. Before he can form any coherent response, you get up and walk out not wanting to give the man in front of you any more time.

The next week was a rough one for you. You were incredibly thankful that you have a solid group of friends who have been nothing but supportive. They watched over you like a hawk, making sure you were always with someone and were kept busy.

That leads you to sitting at your friend's kitchen table, listening to Tayor Swift, snacking on some Chick-fil-A all while making friendship bracelets for the concert you guys will be going to in a few days.

You are focused on getting the beads threaded on the string in front of you when your friend hits your elbow causing you to spill all the beads you just put on.

"Cas! I was just about to finish this one," you say frustrated as you are on bracelet 20. Your friends told you you had to make 50 before you could even think about leaving the table. You gather the beads you were just using and begin to start making it again.

"I'm sorry!" She says as she grabs a nugget. One of your other friends chimes in after looking at your pile of bracelets.

"You know, it might not be the worst idea to put your number on some of those bracelets." She says as if you didn't just get out of a long-term relationship. You just give her a look.

"This could be good!" Another one of your friends yells as she points at you. "You will be in a stadium full of girls, singing their heart out to Taylor Swift - it has been a minute since you've been on the fun side." She says referring to your last relationship being Jacob, before him, you were dating a girl and were so much freer.

"Guys, it has literally been 2 weeks. It hasn't even been a month since I have been single. Let a girl heal," you say getting annoyed at your friends.

"Come on, it doesn't have to be serious. This could be a good distraction for you!" One friend says. Another pitches in, "Ya! That's actually a good idea, just something fun, a little distraction!"

"I am not going to put my number on a beaded bracelet," you say. "That seems desperate and I am not desperate, I am healing," You whisper the last part.

"Come on, just a few." You are now being passed the number beads. You make no move to grab them.

You know your friends mean well but this was a little much. They were lucky you were even going - the thought of going to a TSwift concert right after a breakup is daunting.

"No." Is all you say.

"Yes, you are going to make a few, you don't have to give them out if you don't want but if you make them then at least you have the option." One of your friends says.

"Fine, I will make ONE that has my number," you say so they would all shut up. "But I have no plans of handing it out."

The rest of the night is spent finishing up the bracelets. You made so many bracelets, you felt like your fingers were going to fall off.

The day of the concert is pure chaos. Your friends wanted to get there like 10 hours early to get in line for merch and make sure you have plenty of time to take photos. You follow along with your friends, letting them do whatever they want before the concert starts. YOu are a Taylor fan, but not nearly as much as they are.

Once you all make your way to your seats you are on the end of your group of friends. The group of girls next to you is already sitting. You take a seat next to a girl in a light sage dress. You say a quick hello as you get yourself situated.

Part of your group decides to go grab drinks and snacks while you opt to stay and watch over everyone's stuff. You tell them to grab you a drink and whatever looks good.

You sit there looking around at all the girls wearing their Taylor themes outfits and getting to have the time of their lives. Meanwhile, you are just trying to survive the night.

"Hey, I dropped my chapstick, would you mind grabbing it?" The girl next to you says.

"Ya, no problem," you say and lean down and grab the little stick that made its way under your legs. You pass it to the girl next to you who you notice is now alone. "You're friends also head to get snacks?"

"Restroom," she says with a little laugh. "Yours go to get snacks?"

You nodd also letting out a little laugh. "Can't leave the stuff alone."

You introduce yourself as you are about to be screaming song lyrics right next to this girl all night.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Caitlin," she says.

The two of you enter into some small talk and learn you both attend the same school. It is big enough that it doesn't surprise you that you haven't seen each other before. What once started as small talk, turns into talking life. She tells you how there are some big decisions that she is going to have to make coming up - she keeps it pretty vague but mentions it has to do with her career. You mention your recent breakup and how you the guy cheated. Her hand comes to yours as she apologizes that you had to go through that. You give her a small smile and tell her it was for the better.

She sat there listening to the most beautiful girl in the world talk about how someone treated you like trash. All she wanted to do was hold you and show you what love really is. It seems cliche that she is having all these thoughts at concert with a girl she just met but they way you talked about life had her thinking anything is possible.

The conversation continues as you talk about growing up and how you both chose to go to Iowa for school. You learn she plays basketball and you tell her you dance. She slides the comment of how you should come to one of her games. Of course, you say yes, not thinking anything of it.

Both of your groups of friends get back around the same time and you both turn back to conversations with them.

When the concert starts you get mesmerized by the performance. Everyone is standing and singing along to all of the songs.

The first time you cry is when Taylor sings The Archer. You try to hide it to the best of your ability. Your friends are too into the concert to notice which you are thankful for but as your arms wrap around yourself to provide any sort of comfort, you feel a hand come up and give your arm a little squeeze. You look over to see Caitlin's hand on your arm, rubbing it with her thumb. The part of you that once felt so empty, is now a little fuller.

Neither of you say anything about the little moment. You both just continue to enjoy the concert.

It is during Cruel Summer that you are back screaming at the top of your lungs. When Taylor gets to the bridge you grab Caitlin's hand and use it as a microphone, pretending you are on stage. She just laughs at you and takes in the sight of you living your best life. At the end of the song you pull her in so you can say something.

"I would apologize but I am not sorry at all," you say with a laugh. She leans over to your ear.

"Please never even think about apologizing for that," is what she says with a little wink. You just look at her and shake your head with a smile.

The night continues with you singing with your friends, both the ones you came with and the new ones you met at the concert.

The next time you cry is during Tolerate It, your friend that you came with brings you into her side and just holds you. While she is holding you, you feel a hand come and take yours, intertwining your fingers and giving your hand a squeeze while rubbing her thumb against your skin.

You don't know what it is about the girl but her comfort is one that you haven't felt in a while. It is peaceful, not forced. She brings a calmness to you and you haven't known her for more than 2 hours. Anyone else would be mortified with your sea of emotions - going from screaming at the top of your lungs to sobbing about your cheating ex-boyfriend but not her. She has embraced it all and continues to embrace it.

It is during You Belong With Me that you notice she is looking at you more than usual. You decide to sing it with her and turn to her during one of the verses. By the time the chorus comes around, she is singing it right to you. You sing along trying to not let the words of the song cut too deep.

She is the one to grab your hand during this song and belt out the words to the bridge. You just watch her in awe, seeing her let loose for what you feel like the first time this evening.

At the end of the song, you put your hand on her shoulder to help steady yourself as you reach up to whisper in her ear, "That was adorable, carefree looks good on you."

She leans back down to you, "You make it easy."

The rest of the night is filled with singing your heart out and making little comments here and there to the girl next to you.

One of Taylor's final songs is one that you have been waiting to hear all night, Enchanted. She does a beautiful acoustic version that has you whispering it along with her. You don't know when it happens but Caitlin takes hold of your arm and turns you to face her. Caitlin is now singing with you (to you). You can't take your eyes off of hers as her hand doesn't leave you. Caitlin, in nothing above a whisper, is singing the bridge of the song hoping that you know she is not just singing the song but means every word.

"Please don't be in love with someone else, please don't have somebody waiting on you." She sings looking right into your eyes.

Who in the world would have imagined this, a beautiful girl singing Taylor songs to you at a Taylor concert. Picking up the pieces of your heart all while only knowing you for less than a day.

When the song comes to an end, you don't know what overcomes you but you bring your hand up to her cheek and just stroke her cheek with your thumb. You then bend down and grab your bag, looking for something that you buried it in before the concert.

You find what you are looking for and give it one look before grabbing Caitlin's wrist and putting the bracelet on her. She gives you a slightly confused look, not understanding why you pulled the bracelet out of the bag and didn't take it off your wrist like you had with all the other girls around you.

You give a nod down for her to look at it and she does. When she sees the bracelet you gave her contains 10 digits on it, she instantly smiles.

The concert comes to an end and everyone begins clearing the stadium. You say goodbye to your new friends, making sure Caitlin is the last of them.

When saying bye, you bring her into a hug.

"I am not ready to jump into anything, but you are truly incredible and I would love to get to know you more. I only made one of those bracelets and wasn't planning on handing it out but you are something special." You say and begin to release her. She doesn't let go of you but rather squeezes you tighter.

"You are worth waiting for," she says, and your heart rate increases. "I will take it as slow as you need.'"

She releases you and you just smile at her.

This night marks a new beginning, one that you can't want to dive into.

“Maxie come cuddle please” I begged pouting as I’m cuddling with Charles who was just laughing at my attempt. “No Schat you know I hate cuddling makes me feel sticky” He says as he massages my feet since they were hurting earlier. “Just say you hate us” I mumbled making Charles laugh and making me hide my face in his neck.

“Why would I hate you guys I love you both so much” Max smiled while rolling his eyes from my dramatic comment. I look at him and stick my tongue out at him. “Put your tongue back in before I bite it” He grinned as he tickled my feet making me laugh before I snatch it away from him. “Your freaky” I say getting out of Charles grip making me groan as I moved.

“Where are you going Mon ange” he said while he sat up on his elbows to see where I was going. “To get some snacks don’t go making out max without me now” I say as I grab my keys and kiss them both softly. “No promises” Max said making me snort as I go to my car and went to the store to get some snacks for us. I grabbed all of our favorite chips, candy, and drinks putting them in a basket. I go to the cash register and pay for my things driving back home. I walk in and see Charles in maxes lap making out.

“The one thing I told you is to not make out with me” I say pretending to be disappointed in both of them. “Come baby Charles was just begging for it with his eyes” he smirked before squeezing Charles waist making him groan softly. “Keep your boners in your pants whores” I laughed and I take out all of our snack throwing them their drinks. “You’re literally the best girlfriend we could ever ask for” Charles smiled as he pulled me into his lap making me smile.

“Stop don’t make me blush” I smiled as I hide my face in his neck. He grabs my chin making me look at him as he kissed my lips with the most gentle touch ever. He runs his fingers through my hair making me smile against his lips. “I swear you guys are going this on purpose” max stated from the other couch. “Well you don’t like cuddling with us because you feel sticky” I mocked him as Charles kissed my neck lovingly making me giggle from being tickled. “You guys are a pain in my ass come here” he said open his arms so we both can cuddle with me, me and Charles get up quickly jumping on him while he just laughs at him.

“Jeetje jullie zijn allebei schattig” he whispered making us both look at him in confusion. “We don’t understand Dutch” I pout making him smile. He held up closer to him whispering sweet nothings in our ear making me and Charles both feel so loved. “See schat I do love you don’t ever think otherwise” He whispered before kissing me and then going to Charles and kissing him. (Gosh you both are so adorable)

“The two love of my life” He whispered again looking at us with pure love making me smile as I cuddle up to both of them, my head on maxes lap and my legs on his lap while they cuddle each other. I slowly fall asleep on him but before I do I whisper. “I love you both so much” I whispered making them smile.

“We love you too baby” they said in unison making them kiss my head as they let me sleep.

The next morning

“Schat I love you but your on me scoot over to Charles a bit” he whispered to me in a groggy voice making me groan not getting off of him. “Princess please I need room to breathe” he chuckled softly making me shake my head no as I lay more on top of him. “Once you got a boyfriend and girlfriend you lost your privileges to breathe” I grumbled in his neck making Charles burst out laughing as he heard me.

“Fine I’m up I’m officially up” I groaned getting up and going to the bathroom to shower. “Mon cœur he said scoot over not for you to leave” he chuckled when he saw how dramatic I was being. “Do you guys wanna shower with me” I asked softly making them both get up instantly grabbing me and dragging my body to the bathroom to take a shower. “I swear you guys are like rabbits” I mumbled making max smirk softly.

“I don’t know about me but Charles definitely is always wants to be full” he grinned as he held Charles waist as i see his boner. “Never mind you guys aren’t showering with me” I mumbled before taking off my close and jumping in the shower hearing them both talk outside the bathroom. “See you make me horny and now she won’t let us shower with her” Charles groaned to max making him laugh at Charles.

“That’s not my fault you wanted to get hard” Max teased him making Charles groaned before walking off and followed him. After my shower I come out and put on some comfy sweatpants and a big sweater feeling comfy. I go to the kitchen grabbing something to eat seeing Charles and max stare at me. “Is that my sweater” Charles asked while eating his food while he stares at me in awe.

“What’s mine is yours and what’s yours is mine so yes I’m pretty sure it’s your” I said as I served myself some cereal and sitting next to him and max. “You act like I’m gonna wear your clothes” I smiled softly as he kissed my head making me scrunch up my nose as I eat my cereal. “What do you want to do today Schat” max asked me making me smile knowing what I wanted to do. “Can we go to the stores please” I begged him making him roll his eyes, since he hates shopping. “Fine, fine” he groaned making me squeal.

After shopping

“Thank you both” I smiled softly kissing them with pure love. “You’re welcome amore” Charles whispered as we go inside the house with max holding our waist. “I swear you’re so cute when you find something you like” max smiled kissing my head softly as he sits on the couch dragging me and Charles with him to cuddle up. “What happened to hating being cuddled” I asked making me look at him in confusion.

“They grew on me” He whispered as he kissed out head

Honestly this fucking speaks for itself, and I’m so glad hoyo committed to the evil on her, she’s very compelling and that’s extremely cunty I must give her credit for it, but god do I absolutely despise the people who believe Jade and Aventurine have a healthy relationship, or that she “saved” him out of the kindness of her own heart or something.

To Jade, Aventurine is an investment, nothing more and nothing less, which is why she puts her faith in him, he’s a reliable business opportunity, but that’s not the same as caring about him personally and I really need people to get the difference

If Aventurine hadn’t proved himself useful to her, she would have left him to rot in prison or succumb to his death sentence, this isn’t saving, it’s exploitation.

Jade knows Aventurine couldn’t decline whatever offer she made, and anything is worse than death or slavery, the things he’s trying to escape, so she offers for him to join the IPC to make more money for them. That’s it, that’s all she wants, she doesn’t care about how bad being in the IPC is for Aventurine’s mental health, how he literally took on a suicide mission so he could escape being a stoneheart, how even if she “saved” him, his banner name is literally “gilded imprisonment” and his lightcone “inherently unjust destiny”, so damn she did a real good job at saving him and fixing his life, definitely didn’t just put him in a pair of gilded chains.

Also like can we talk about how weird Jades comment about his eyes were? Like it’s genuinely creepy to me considering Avens eyes are a) one of his biggest insecurities and b) people fetishize them, something which Jade knows and chooses to still comment about. I hate to say it, but I feel like if this was a male Jade saying that to a female Aventurine, yall would never let that slide and Jade would never beat the p3do allegations. Aventurine was likely a teenager/young adult in that scene, and either way there is a visible power dynamic between them (I mean Aven is literally in chains looking up at her), and I don’t think if the situation was flip flopped people would be treating Jade like some kinda hero. If they were the same gender I feel like people would be shipping them though 😭

So, yeah. Being correct feels amazing, pls use your brains and realize that just because one character sounds kinda nice to another, does not mean they actually care about them or are a good person!

i can literally go on for YEARS… about the shallow takes on miguel and why people hate him but atp its obvious rage bait because i cant even begin to think people can be that lacking of brain tissue to understand him but be the same ones that want more deep and complex characters in movies and shows.

people who dig deep into his character like me and so many others fight so much to simplify it down to where people can understand miguel a little better. like:

sensible miguel fans: “he’s a damaged man who’s trying to keep time and space from collapsing and he gets severely angry at miles who was about to potentially mess that up despite it being explained to him how and what could happen if the canon is disrupted.”

opposing people: “he’s a child abuser, immoral, villain that i hope to see crumble in the next movie.”

like i get that people can dislike him, their takes are nothing but reasonable, but people only bring up the fact he slammed miles, a 15 year old, on that train (in which i dont agree with but understand).

a reasonable take: “i personally don’t like miguel because i didnt like his place in the movie and there hasnt been much of him on screen that i can explore to make me like him.” 100% VALID.

but idk people just hate to hate these days 😭ig they like what their words can do to people

Vox has a tendency. That tendency was pointed out by Valentino as the moth laughed in his face.

He has a tendency to fixate in people who want nothing to do with him at best and want to kill him at worst.

You were probably friends with Cherri Bomb and being friends with Cherri means being friends with Angel.

You met Vox face to face when you were picking Angel up from set as he couldn’t even stand but needed to leave.

Vox tried to introduce himself but you walked right past him, flipping him the finger.

Your hard expression went soft when you helped Angel up to his feet and let him lean all of his weight on you but it immediately fell into a glare when you saw Vox.

You left. Vox watched you drag Angel to your home but that is where his ability to spy on you ended. You had no Voxtech in your house which only spurred his curiosity about you.

Not even a week later his warehouse for his cameras (specifically cameras used for directing) went up in flames. He saw you coming out of the smoke.

That’s when he decided to sit down and have a talk with you.

It ended with you spitting literal fire his way along with curses and him being even more intrigued.

The time since Alastor had disappeared had been boring.

Adding a new rival in his life was exactly what he needed.

Thus began your little feud.

It wasn’t ever anything truly filled with hate on his side.

You’d blow up one of his buildings. He’d steal you away for a chat afterwards. You’d curse him out. He’d put on a big man act. That was that.

The first time you truly hurt him he was shocked but it was his fault.

He was doing the big man act, threatening to make your life hell but you were already there and nothing he could take would be worth keeping anyway. That is until he uttered Angel’s name.

You moved so quick he didn’t have time to process. His computers behind him went up in flames, equipment went everywhere, and you were standing in front of him with a knife at his throat.

“I’ve only sparred you so far because I don’t have the shit to start a war with three overlords right now but touch Angel and I may be going down but you can bet your ass that I will take you down with me. Do we understand each other?”

Stupidly, so stupidly, that was the moment Vox realized he was falling in love.

You stayed quiet for a while but he knew where you were. He watched you.

He watched you and as he saw your acts of kindness to a select few and your hostility towards just about everyone else, he slowly began to fall in love.

It was when you were at a club with Cherri and Angel, out on the dance floor and then pulling a demon into a sex room as he watched when he couldn’t keep it in anymore.

It was stupid.

So stupid.

Doing something similar is what ruined his relationship with Alastor and got him stuck in this cycle with Valentino but he was a man of habit even if he pretended otherwise.

He materialized in the room behind you and tutted.

“Thought you would get lucky tonight?” Vox asked the demon. “Don’t you know luck rarely sided with a gambler?”

Maybe that line was a bit personal and he threw the demon out of the room with more force than he normally would have but hey, it’s Vox. The demon’s lucky they weren’t killed.

“The fuck are you doing?!” “Red light if you want me to stop.” “What?!”

He shoved you against the wall.

“Red light if you want me to stop.”

The next time one of Vox’s buildings went up in smoke, the fire was green.

Like he so clearly is one of the most open, softest and just kind drivers on the grid😭he’s so funny and his love language is literally touch, hugs just anything😭😭he literally lights up when people giggle at his jokes😭he is just constantly seen with his mechanics giggling, shoving a little playfully😭his whole face lights up when he gets a hug from any of his team especially his team principal.

He’s constantly around the drivers giggling, touching just waiting to talk to them cause he’s just so open and friendly😭he’s a girl dad!! Getting hit in the face with her bunny or getting little head kisses😭

enough — batman secret files (2018) #1

[ID: A short story titled Enough. It centers around Bruce Wayne being alone at a little cabin out in the middle of some woods on top of a snow-capped mountain. Bruce internally narrates throughout the entire story. The barren cabin is lonesome amongst the pristine, white snow as Bruce enters the cold, muted building. Inside there's several books, oil lamps, a stone fireplace, and candles on basic, open faced wooden furniture – indicating that the house has no electricity. The cabin is one story and has an open floorplan with a single upstairs bedroom, which has only a ladder leading up to the small loft. There's a chest underneath a window and Bruce sits on the old, yellow couch in front of the blazing fireplace.

He thinks to himself, ‘There're rumors that somewhere, in Gotham's most beautiful, snow-topped mountains, a monster is running around. I have a suspicion Man-Bat is behind the strange activity. Mountain climbers losing their camps, ski resorts with missing guests, a strange beast being seen in the dark... Something covered in hair, something remarkably large.’ He takes his parka off and sets down his large duffle bag to slowly unpack it — revealing a thermos and a bow with several large, pointed arrowheads. He pulls out his Batman gear — which includes an insulated suit that's lined with fur, his belt, and a protective face mask that reflects his eyes in the red-tinted visor. He forlornly admits, ‘I can handle large, but what I can't handle… Is how damn lonely it is up here. Alfred says I could use some alone time. Truth is, I'm not such a fan of myself.’

Outside in his costume and cape, Bruce is tracking through the icy woods and the thick, rising snow. He's armed with his bow and arrows as he narrates, ‘To avoid detection by what I assume is probably Man-Bat, I'll try to capture him using only my hunting skills. I admit I'm a little rusty. The arrows I've brought are lethal to some, but they're just enough to incapacitate a beast of his size. It should be enough.. I hope it's enough.’ But the snowstorm rages on, forcing Bruce back inside the cabin since he believes it's not worth the risk of freezing to death if he stays out. He now lays in the upstairs loft's bed. The oil lamps on the wooden bedstand is unlit, causing the bright snow through the window to be the only thing that casts any light in the dark room. It reveals a framed photo of a picturesque landscape hanging over Bruce's head on the wall. In it, there's a peaceful lake and tall, luxuriant green trees.

Bruce solemnly stares up at the ceiling and thinks, ‘I find myself focusing closely on all the sounds of the forest, trying to learn the rhythm.’ The snow whirls on… A branch cracks… The cabin itself creaks and groans — causing Bruce to sit upright with a jolt! He squints out the window in an futile attempt to actually see something out there. He cerebrates, ‘Three nights and only the sounds of falling snow and branches. I've tracked nothing larger than a doe, there's been no news of an attack or sighting, maybe he's left the mountains… or maybe he's just hiding.’ Bruce lays back down, this time with his back to the window. He keeps an eye open — waiting and nearly hoping for any sign of life other than his own in the desolate, icy land.

We're shown Bruce outside again as he fights against the harsh wind to get back inside the cabin after another unsuccessful search for Man-Bat. He rubs his face tiredly while hunched over a small oil lamp as the stovetop coffee brews. He reflects, ‘Six nights alone, darkness lasts longer than the day and again the storm pushes me back indoors. This is beginning to feel useless. I'm really quite over myself. Maybe I'll call Alfred and ask him to—’ But his self-deprecation is cut short by a sudden thump! Then another loud crack! Again and again, coming closer and closer to him!

Bruce sets down the coffee as his mind rapid fires the possibilities of the quickly approaching, potentially dangerous loud noises! ‘Is it the branches in the wind? Or is it something else? Am I paranoid? I can't visualize what I'm hearing. There's no time to think about the cold now, I'm all alone up here. That sounds remarkably large.’ Bruce arms himself with his bow and arrow and hesitates outside the door as his paranoia continues, ‘I hope this is enough. A hunter knows its prey, but I'm realizing I have no idea what's on the other side of this door. Does it understand I'm on the other side? I am alone out here. No time to think.’ He flings the door open!

Geared in only his suit with no gloves or headgear, Bruce aims his bow blindly as he stands outside in the merciless elements. He tensely waits in the dark, thinking to the unseen threat, ‘I don't see you, but can you see me?’ There's another loud thump and crack. With one last hope that it's enough to tranquilize the potential attacker, Bruce fires the weapon.

The sharp arrow proves itself to be lethal as it pierces his unfortunate target. The threat — merely a lonesome, defenseless deer — falls dead in front of the horrified man. Bruce rushes forth and remorsefully buries the animal with the snow. He walks back to the cabin with the repeated, dejected confession: ‘Truth is, I'm not such a fan of myself.’
